This month's car of the month is a very rare Lamborghini Countach, this early LP400 model was in fact the very
car Alpine used for their promotion back in the Eighties.

Note however that this specific Countach LP400 is not your everyday Lamborghini, naturally the state of the art equipment from
Alpine electronics was mounted in this car, but also the bodywork was modified ... much like the Mardikian SS model,
including the Targa-style roof.
The poster seen here was in fact an official document from Alpine, issued in 1986 and also used as a calendar, during the
mid-Eighties, this Lamborghini was taken on a promotional tour that visited 'preferred' Alpine dealer all over the United
States. Alpine even had a contest with this very car as first price !
Alpine went all-out customizing this car. Almost everything the company had to offer at that time was installed in this
unique Countach.
It had a full sound system, and the amplifiers took up almost all of the car's trunk space. It also featured an Alpine
security system, as well as Alpine's own cellular phone system.
It's obvious to anyone that this car's body was modified to look like the Lamborghini Countach SS cars by Mardikian.
The difference was that the door frames were kept in place, and the top could be removed and put pack on like a true targa
top. The other difference was that the wheels were kept silver, instead of the gold of the Mardikan cars.

Addendum by Lamborghini Cars :
There have been some reactions that the car featured on the poster and the car featured on the photo's is not the same Countach,
the original Lamborghini Countach Alpine used during this period now resides with a collector in Japan, and the car featured on the
photo's would actually be just another modified Countach stacked with Alpine equipment.
It does make sense that Alpine Electronics did not receive permission to customize the Countach from Automobili Lamborghini SpA in
this way, their other cars, right up to the QuattroValvole, were completely standard.
Anyway, the Countach in the photographs remains a very nice car, with the targa style roof and the electronics installed in it, it still
is a rare Countach to say the least, perhaps not the 'real' Alpine Countach, but at least equally unique.
