Our selection for July 2004 is this very special Lamborghini Murcielago scale model, again a 1/18th model, but this time created
by Hotwheels, these models are in a different price range when compared to the June 2004 selection which was made by AutoArt, but the
detailing and finish of the Hotwheels models are at a great level.

The proportions on this scale model are correct, and the doors even have windows in them, a detail that is often overseen
by other makes, like bBurago or Maisto. Don't get me wrong, these latter produce some very nice models, bBurago even created the limited edition model of the
Murcielago that was available at the factory during the introduction of this model in September 2001, but some of their models aren't as
detailed as the AutoArt or even the Hotwheels models. Actually I have them all side by side in my collection, but that's a personal note.
What really sets this specific model apart from the rest of my Murcielago collection are the custom details ... it has some massive, chromed wheels with
pearl metallic orange details, even the disks for the brakes are different when compared to the normal Hotwheels model.
The interior is color coded with the exterior, a nice combination of black and orange, just the way you can order it from the factory , I haven't really
seen one like it yet, but I can imagine the impression it will make ... flashy !
Another nice touch is the engine cover ... it's transparent ! You can see the engine through it, and the manifolds on this engine are also color coded,
finished in the same orange as the bodywork.

Probably not everyone will like this model, even in real life not every Lamborghini enthusiast will like a customized Murcielago, it's all a matter of
taste. But if you've already got several 1/18th scale models of the Murcielago, in just about every color possible, this custom one will be a very
nice addition, that's why I've bought it in the first place ... because it is different, customized ...
I've placed it inside a display next to an orange metallic model by Maisto and my daughter enjoys herself by finding the differences on both models ...
really funny, she's only five by the way.
