consisted of a new, redesigned engine cover with two big air scoops to cool down the tuned engine.
This was the less visible change, the engine was tuned up to 600 Bhp by reprogramming the LIE
electronic injection system.
The black car featured on this page has been seen in the Netherlands and in Belgium,
it is one of the limited 150 SE units built in Italy and probably the first to be converted into
full Jota specifications. Recently a visitor of this site stated this rare Jota with production
number 117/150 was totally wrecked in an unfortunate car crash.
Most sources state only 12 SE 30's have been delivered in the JOTA specifications.
An open exhaust system was standard for the JOTA, but in this state, the car was absolutely not street-legal.
A customer based in the UK had his Violet Metallic Jota detuned because he didn't like the jumpy
engine, so he still has a car with the bodywork modifications of a Jota, but not the performance.
With the air intakes mounted on the engine, the rear view mirror inside the car became totally
useless and was actually removed on the SE30 Jota, these Jota's were in fact sold with a statement
the car couldn't be used on the road, it was a circuit car only, but sources state
some cars were actually seen on the public road.
A few of these Jota's were sold to collectors in Germany and Switzerland, and one Jota was in fact
shipped to the United States, where the car was parked inside a collector's garage and hasn't moved since,
it will never be registered for road use as the car is equipped with the open race type exhaust system.
