The Lamborghini Diablo SVR, a small history on this exoticar.
The Diablo SV-R was the first official car that entered racing officially from the
factory, although the drivers weren't factory pilots, it was the closest thing to racing cars
Lamborghini ever entered, beside the Formula one engines.
The Diablo SV-R was a special version of the Diablo SV, but it was built alongside the other
'normal' Diablo's, on the same production line. Only for the SV-R a special engine was built,a
normally aspired V-12 without any turbochargers, but still pumping out over 600 Bhp, by altering
the timing of the fuel injection system and using a variable valve timing system.
The bodywork was redesigned too, a deeper front spoiler and side skirts, the rear bumper was
changed and the rear mounted wing as a different design, always finished in black and completely
adjustable. The front headlights were replaced by air intakes, and the side windows are replaced
by Plexiglas units with sliding windows. The interior was stripped of all the unnecessary items like
a radio and the airco, and only one racing-type bucket seat is installed with a five-point
harness to hold you in the seat when accelerating up to a top speed of over 350 Km/h.
The standard wheels were replaced by one-piece, hollow spoke, cast magnesium 18 inch types,
mounted with racing slicks.
