The Silhouette was a very good idea for Lamborghini, this car should sell very well
on the important United States market, but it didn't pass the laws imposed on high performance
cars and was denied the market it needed so bad. But other makes did sell in the U.S., like
the Ferrari 308 GTS and the Porsche
911 SC Targa.
The Chevrolet Corvette would have been a competitor
if the Silhouette could have been sold in the U.S., but on the European market the
Aston Martin Volante and the
Mercedes 350 SL were much more important.
