The Lamborghini LM002 has never reached it's full potential, the Middle-Eastern armies didn't
order large numbers of it, and an attempt to sell it to the United States wasn't met with the
enthousiasm needed to boost sales. At the end of the production in 1993, the US Importers did
create a special LM American edition, with upgraded interior, aluminium MSW/OZ wheels and chrome
bumpers to the front and rear of the car, this LM American was presented at the 1992 Detroit Auto
Show, but only 60 were built in a limited production run.
These LM American's are rather rare, but the most exclusive LM002 ever made had to be the one
presented on this page, this LM002 was converted into an Estate version by a Turin based
Salvatore Diomante, who ownes a bodyshop there. A wealthy customer ordered him to built a closed
cover over the rear open deck of his LM002, with a raised roof this car is very roomy on the
inside and the overall look isn't too bad either.
Currently this car has been seen in the UK, finished in a silver metallic color over a black leather interior.
There has been a rumour that a six-wheel version of the LM was constructed for a customer in the
Middle-East, but I haven't been able to confirm this yet.
