The Tonino Lamborghini museum, a tribute to a timeless work of art.

The late Ferruccio and his son Tonino, August 7th 2002

After Ferruccio Lamborghini died, his son Tonino managed to build and open the Centro Studi e Ricerche Ferruccio Lamborghini as a tribute to his father.
Tonino did encounter some problems with the Automobili Lamborghini SpA owners at first about using the Ferruccio Lamborghini name for something else than cars, but the Marketing division finally allowed him to construct this center which was officially opened to the public in 1995.

Located in Dosso, this private museum is only 25 Kms away from the Lamborghini factory and contains just about everything Ferruccio achieved during his life. Most of the cars that were located in Ferruccio's own private museum are now on display in this center, these include an early 400 GT and a stunning red Miura SV, which was Ferruccio's own car. An Espada and an Islero are shown next to a P250 and P300 Urraco. The Jarama S driven by Ferruccio and a stunning red Countach QuattroValvole are also present, on the surrounding walls hundreds of photos showing the late Ferruccio during his

life are presented.

All over the museum you can find books, brochures, scale models and assorted automobilia about Lamborghini, in the centre of the museum a one of a kind Lamborghini Helicopter is hung from the ceiling, a prototype once built by Lamborghini but never commercialised.

At this moment there are still cars being added to this relatively small, private owned museum, last year the very rare

Jalpa Spider was added, finished in a bright blue, also a very special Jarama SVR is now shown together with the actual toy car the late Ferruccio once made for Tonino.

I can surely recommend a visit to this source of information whenever you find yourself in the Sant'Agata area, combined with a visit to the factory of course, note however that this collection is not open to the public all the time, you will need an appointment.
