The improved Series II Espada was rather unparalleled in its kind, only the
Jensen Interceptor Mk II and the
Maserati Indy were to be seen as real competition. The mass-built
Mercedes 350 SLC was also a four-seater sportscar,
but it was on another level than the big Espada. Again a few less well known cars were there to rival the Espada, the Avanti II, the Iso-Rivolta Lele and the very rare Monteverdi 375 L were only built in very limited numbers and never posed a real problem to the Espada. |
