The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder ...
I would love to own a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, but like most people I don't have the funds to buy one right now, so I'll have to settle for the next best thing, a scale
model of this magnificent automobile.
There has been a 1/43 scale model around for some time now, both with the roof closed and with the roof open, but only recently did Maisto release this large 1/18 scale model,
and I obtained one as soon as possible. I love large scale models like these 1/18 models, they do take a lot of room in my display, but I don't mind.
This new Maisto release is surely worth taking a look at, for one since it's the only model of the Gallardo Spyder in this scale right now, and also because Maisto models
are very nicely priced, they don't cost an arm and leg like some other makes out there.
Naturally the more expensive models are better finished, no question about that, but this new model is nicely finished nonetheless, too bad it's only flat white, a nice
pearl metallic white would look a lot better, but you can't have everything right ? Even a black one would be great, perhaps in the future other model makers will release
their edition of the Gallardo Spyder in other colors.
At least Maisto installed the new, 2006 style wheels on this model, and if you take a look at the interior you'll notice it's a scale model of the e-Gear edition with
a navigation system installed, all in all a very nice model, and surely worth looking into ...
Conclusion :
I was really happy to finally be able to buy a 1/18 model of the stunning Gallardo Spyder, perhaps Maisto isn't one of the best model makers around, but at least
their models are nicely priced ... so judging by what I had to pay for this large model, I'm very pleased with the detailing and finish of this one, I have it on display
next to the white metallic Gallardo by AutoArt, and it doens't look out of place, trust me.
If you like the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and the 1/43rd Looksmart model is too expensive or you already own it, this 1/18. Maisto model should be your next buy.
