Lamborghini presents the Gallardo Nera at the Paris Motor Show.
When the Gallardo SE was introduced a while ago, people asked themselves why this Special Edition would be interesting ... check out the sales figures, they were sold
out very quickly, so it is safe to say the Gallardo SE was a success, avaialble in various pre-defined colors, each combined with a color coded interior and just about
every option available from the factory.
But since it sold out rather fast, some were too late ... but now they can have another very special Lamborghini, the Gallardo Nera, finished in black and with a production
limited to no more than 185 units, the intimidating Nera attracted a lot of looks when the first units were shows at local dealerships.
You could argue the combination of high gloss black and matte black would be just a little over the top, but you must admit that it looks really nice nonetheless, the
only downside could be maintenance, just try to keep that matte black in top shape after driving it on the open road at speed, good luck trying to get the bugs removed
without ruining this paintjob.
But that would be the only minor detail that could be held against this brand new limited edition from Sant'Agata, everything else on this V10 is just great, the wheels
are black finshed, on a black car these 19 inch wheels look really nice. You have to be very careful with black wheels on any car, they tend to reduce the visual impact
of the wheels, but with 19 inch to deal with they still look large enough to impress, and Automobili Lamborghini SpA did keep the brake calipers finished in silver to
set them apart further from the black wheels, a very wise choice.
Matte black parts on these otherwise high gloss Gallardo Nera's are the side mirrors, a section of the front hood, the entire roof and the air outlets at the rear of
the car, just ahead of the taillights ... probably the most impressive detail on the exterior must be that optionally available glass engine cover ... it's simply
magnificent, and it shows off that stunning work of art underneath it, the V10 engine bursting out over 500 Bhp.
But let's get inside the Nera and admire the two tone leather upholstery, finished in the finest white and black leather, the Gallardo Nera also received the really nice
lozenge shaped stitching known as 'Q-citura', just like the one optionally available on the flagship LP640 Murciélago, add some Carbon Fiber touches and it's clear
to see why the Gallardo Nera is such a great looking car.
Note that the finish of the Nera clearly shows the possibilities from the 'Ad Personam' programme, the high level personlization offered by Automobili Lamborghini SpA
to every prospective owner of a new Lamborghini, you can request just about every combination of colors for your Raging Bull, both for the exterior as for the interior,
within reason naturally, but still, this offers you the opportunity to create a really one of a kind Lamborghini directly from the factory, without reverting to
third party shops.
Will the Gallardo Nera become a success similar to the SE model ... only time will tell, but I'm convident this new limited edition model will enter the Lamborghini
history books as a new masterpiece ... the Gallardo is a great car and the Nera only emphasis this further.
