First VLN race of the 2007 season - the STORY

Successful beginning of the season: Lamborghini Gallardo GTR with some bad luck but at the end satisfying result!

Untermerzbach (Germany), March 31, 2007 - The race of the last weekend at the 56th ADAC Westfalenfahrt was not a lucky one for the Lambo-Racing Team, however the team is positive for the 2007 VLN season.

During the winter-tests some improvements on the setup of the Gallardo GTR were made.

Due to some bad luck in the qualifying on Saturday the Lambo-Racing Gallardo started with Florian Scholze as 20th in the grid. After three laps, positioned on 17th, a damage on the rear tyre forced the first unforeseen pit stop, where a complete new set of tyres were mounted. Another three laps later again a problem with the tyres came up and made it necessary to change the rear wheels again. A first analysis showed that unfortunately pressure was set wrong so that the team decided to take no risk and to call the Gallardo in again after two laps. At this occasion also the driver change was done. Due to the three pit stops within the first eight laps the Lambo-Racing Gallardo dropped from 17 to 67.

As all the tyre problems now were solved driver Stephan Rösler could fully concentrate to the race and improved to position 22 during his stint, although he had to sit a stop and go penalty. In the last stint finally Florian Scholze reached the chequered flag after four hours positioned as 20th overall.

With the history of this race the Lambo-Racing Team is looking forward positive. Although four pit stops had to be made with 25 laps position 20 was archived. In his class SP8 the Lambo-Racing Gallardo was second behind the Zackspeed Viper with only one minute behind. But mostly satisfied was the team with the setup which was found.
