Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63

By Mark Smeyers on June 30. 2020 in LamboNEWS.

In the late Eighties and into the Nineties we could admire the Class 1 World Powerboat Championships, with many of the champions using V12 Lamborghini marine engines, some even rumored you could order the LM002 off-roader with such a marine engine ... and let's not forget Ferruccio's bespoke built Riva Aquarama from 1968 ... he convinced Riva to build him hull number 278 with a pair of V12 Lamborghini engines instead of the usual V8 units.

Fast forward to June 2020, when The Italian Sea Group unveils their latest Tecnomar motor yacht, called the 'Tencomar for Lamborghini 63' officially, this limited edition yacht not only honors the fact Lamborghini was founded in 1963, but the hull length is also 63 feet (nearly 20 meters), and while not powered by Lamborghini engines, this Tecnomar does come with a pair of V12 engine from MAN, 2,000 hp each, they propel the 24 tons yacht to a top speed of 60 knots (that's 111 Km/h).

The official press release states: 'This motor yacht project, developed by The Italian Sea Group, started with several collaborative sessions with the contribution of Lamborghini’s Centro Stile and inspiration from the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37: the hybrid super sports car incorporating benchmarking new supercapacitor and materials science technologies, that anticipates the future with an unmistakable design and completely customizable color and details.'

The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is the fastest model in the Tecnomar range at this time, a total weight of 24 tons for a yacht of this size could only be achieved by using carbon fiber, just like the cars that inspired the angular design of this yacht.

Now this really looks like a Lamborghini to be driven on water ... at high speeds

The press release continues with: 'The interiors of Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 are the result of high-tech design based on super-performing materials for weight and function, perfectly married with the best Made in Italy heritage. Lamborghini’s iconic clean lines, hexagon shapes, Y-motif and materials are clearly incorporated into the design, together with the fully customizable colours and materials in the manner of Lamborghini’s Ad Personam programme. Clients can choose from extensive exterior colours and livery options, while the interior is offered in two versions choosing from an extensive combination of materials.

The motor yacht’s instrument panel interprets the car cockpit in a nautical style, completely integrating all navigation and control systems. As in Lamborghini super sports cars, details are finished in carbon fibre, with Lamborghini’s Carbon Skin™ used in the sports seats and on the helm, styled as the super sports car’s steering wheel. The unmistakable start/stop button, (two, one for each engine) are exactly the same used to start a Lamborghini engine.'

Pricing hasn't been published but I would expect a seven-figure price tag for such a high-power luxury yacht with Lamborghini heritage ... the first deliveries are set for early 2021.
