The most beautiful car in the world is a Lamborghini ! - the STORY

The stealth-fighter inspired Lamborghini Reventón super car has been awarded L'Automobile più Bella del Mondo (The World's most Beautiful Automobile) in the category for special series cars - just as it gears up for its US public debut at the end of this week.

Other winners in this year's 15th edition of the L'Automobile più Bella del Mondo awards, held in the surroundings of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan on 8th November included the Fiat 500 (city car category), Fiat Bravo (hatchback), Mercedes-Benz C-Class (sedan), Lexus LX600H (luxury), Audi A5 (coupé), Opel GT (cabriolet), Aston Martin DBS (sport scar), Mercedes-Benz C-Class station wagon (station wagon) and Citroën C4 Picasso (MPV).

The Reventón is the most extreme Lamborghini model ever built. Realized in just a year, the angular styling is decidedly aeronautic, it is built largely of carbon fiber and is in every respect a masterpiece of technology; the V12 engine's 650 horsepower is delivered to the road through a viscous traction four wheel drive system and will accelerate the Reventón from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Top speed is in excess of 210 mph.

Meanwhile, following its debut at the Frankfurt IAA in September, and its presentation at the Tokyo Motor Show last month, the Reventón is now set to make its United States public debut. Los Angeles has recently emerged as a stage for luxury and exotic automakers to showcase their most elite vehicles, partly due the fact that the region has the highest concentration of luxury and exotic car buyers - and the most expensive new vehicle to make its stateside debut at the show will be the US $1.4 million Reventón, hailed as the most powerful and expensive Lamborghini ever built.

At the show Ferrari will debut its new lightweight 430 Scuderia, Bentley will showcase its new and more powerful Continental GT Speed, and Porsche will debut its most powerful 911, the new GT2. The 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show will feature at least 14 World debuts and nearly 30 North American debuts during press days, Nov. 14 and 15. The show kicks-off with 28 press conferences featuring some never-before-seen vehicles as well as many eagerly anticipated North American debuts. The show opens to the public at the conclusion of the press days Friday, Nov. 16 and runs through Nov. 25.
