The Miura wins the Silvretta Classic 2005.
After a team victory in the 75th edition of the classic Rallye Liege Rome Liege, the iconic sportscar Miura carried on celebrating its 40th birthday by winning the
famous Montafon Rallye.
The 2005 edition of this event saw a record of 164 teams who participated at the event all motivated to enjoy more than 500 km of mountain roads with passes up to
2032 meters high with slopes up to 13% requiring driving skills and stressing brakes and engines.
The 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 S nr 94 driven by Martin Volke/Florian Klackl finished first overall with an amazing total of 512 points.
The 1972 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV nr 95 driven by Luc Donckerwolke/ Constantin Beims finished 6th in the youngtimer class summing up 1232 points.
The third embassador of the house of the raging bull was a superb 1966 Lamborghini 400 GT nr50 from the Autostadt team driven by Joerg Reichle/Hans-Gerd Bode
finished 99th with a total of 3817 points.
As everybody knows, 2005 and 2006 will be the years of the Lamborghini Miura, which started this year to celebrate its 40th birthday. The Miura has been presented at
the Geneva Motor Show in 1966 (but its chassis appeared for the first time at the Turin Motor Show in October 1965). More than 700 units of the Lamborghini Miura have
been produced during the years in three different versions : P400, P 400 S and SV.
Next appointments to celebrate the Miura will be the Ennstal Classic in Austria in the end of July and the Concorso Italiano which will take place in
Monterey California (USA) in August. During this event hundreds of Lamborghini of every age will parade together with sixty Lamborghini Miura from the
United States.
