Over the last years the famous Autoworld museum has organized an impressive 'end of year' event, for 2015 this fourth annual event has become the 'Italian Car Passion' ... and Lamborghini is the Title sponsor this time, so among the more classic Italian made cars there are some really amazing, more recent cars to be discovered during this event that runs from December 3 2015 until January 31 2016.
The Autoworld museum normally has about 250 cars on display from the vast collection of Ghislain Mahy (over 1,000 cars and bikes are part of his collection) located at the Cinquantenaire in Brussels, note that the Belgian motor shows were organized here from 1902 to 1936, cars from Minerva, FN, Excelsior, Fondu, Vivinius and Imperia are shown ... makes that were once located in Belgium ... a tribute to the Belgian car building know-how.
But now the historic models at Autoworld are joined by cars from the golden era of Italian cars, makes like Alfao Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati and naturally Lamborghini are shown in a very nice surrounding ... once you step into the area these masterpieces are shown you would think you've arrived in Italy ... and with designers and builders like Pininfarina, Bertone, Gandini, Giugiaro, Zagato, Spada and Touring delivering some of the most beautiful and powerful cars ever made you just know a visit to Italian Car Passion should be on your agenda before the event ends on January 31 2016.
Now you might think only those beautiful cars from days gone by will be present, but you couldn't be more wrong in fact ... Italian Car Passion managed to put together a very nice collection of truly classic Italian cars combined with some of the most recent hyper cars made in Italy.
Right at the welcome desk of Autoworld you can already admire the very first Lamborghini production model, the beautiful 350 GT made from 1964 to 1966 ... when you look into the museum you can't miss a line up of five recent Lamborghini either, with them being the Title sponsor the Raging Bull received a very nice spot on the ground floor of Autoworld to showcase their recent models.
That bright blue Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 will capture your attention from afar, the current V10 model has become very, very successful since it was introduced back in 2014 and only a few months ago the Huracan Spyder was introduced to continue the best-selling model for years to come.
But let's look at that red Lamborghini Aventador next to the Huracan ... this is in fact the LP750-4 Superveloce edition, one of only 600 units built, this specific one is finished in Rosso Bia, a very special shade of metallic red that has been developed specifically for the Superveloce, if this car would look good in your garage you're out of luck, the entire production run has been sold out a long time ago, and cars that are offered on the market today demand a serious premium over the original MSRP.
The next Bull at the end of the 'Blue Boulevard' of Autoworld is a very nice, dark blue metallic Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, this one is in fact from the first production series V10 convertible built between 2005 and 2008, but that doesn't mean this open top Bull isn't looking really good, especially with the later model wheels installed, a very nice touch.
At the moment the Aventador is the flagship V12 model from Sant'Agata, but only a few years ago the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Roadster like the white one on display in Autoworld was the top of the line, unveiled in December 2006 this Roadster was a truly impressive car, and even today the Murciélago is considered one of the best looking, late model V12 made.
Finally the left corner of the Lamborghini display on the ground floor of Autoworld is taken by probably the most aggressive looking Bull of them all ... a sinister, matte black Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo, a pure bred race car that competed in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series from 2013 on, just looking at her standing still you know this is a very fast car on the track.
And we haven't even seen the actual Italian Car Passion area yet ... which is upstairs, above these five Lamborghini ... in a very nice 'central piazza' environment that takes you straight to Italy in a heartbeat, where you will encounter the usual Italian cars most people could own parked next to truly exotic cars like the yellow Lamborghini Miura SV or a stunning, dark blue metallic Lamborghini Countach LP400 next to a Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada ... but also the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante and a Lancia Stratos together with a Fiat Cinquecento and a tricycle Vespa.
Naturally the piazza offers a nice wine bar and terrace to indulge in some Italian wine while you admire the multitude of amazing cars on display ... and to prepare yourself for the 'Show Room' next doors ... where you'll gaze upon the extremely rare Lamborghini Veneno Roadster.
The red metallic Veneno LP750-4 Roadster on display is owned by Automobili Lamborghini SpA, but a total of nine of these €3,300,000 (before taxes) ultra-exotic cars were built for customers from all over the world, while she might look like a LeMans race car, the Veneno is completely street legal. The Veneno Roadster feels right at home between a red LaFerrari and an impressive Maserati MC12 race car ... while a more classic Bugatti EB110 is also part of the Show Room display.
On the ground floor we encounter one of the most intimidating Lamborghini from the Eighties ... the massive LM002 finished in an intimidating black paint, over 25 years ago this was the most impressive SUV on the market with a massive V12 sending power to four special Pirelli tires ... almost nothing could stop this Raging Bull in her path back then, and she still looks amazing today.
At the entrance of Autoworld you will be able to admire a very nice Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 with an amazing wrap installed to celebrate the Italian Car Passion event ... if you are even remotely close to Brussels during January 2016 you just have to spend a few hours at this event, the collection of cars on display is second to none ... ranging from classic Italian beauties to hyper cars you most likely will never encounter on the open road ... Italian Car Passion shows it all.
Italian Car Passion will continue until January 31. 2016, open every day from 10:00 to 17:00 (Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00) at the Esplanade du Parc du Cinquentanaire 11, 1000 Brussels.
