It took the Lamborghini Gallardo about 5 years to reach the 8,000 units milestone, from 2003 until late 2008 ... but the new Lamborghini Huracan managed the same feat in a mere 3 years.
The 8,000th Lamborghini Huracan was an LP610-4 Spyder version finished in Grigio Lynx, a RHD edition for delivery in the United Kingdom.
In a matter of only 36 months the Huracan range has been seriously expanded already, first up in March 2014 was the original LP610-4, who took over the decade long reign of the Lamborghini Gallardo (reaching 14,022 units in total), in August 2014 Lamborghini already introduced the Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo race car.
January 2015 revealed the even more impressive Huracan GT3 race car, while in September 2015, only 18 months after the LP610-4, at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt, Germany, the impressive Huracan LP610-4 Spyder was unveiled.
In November 2015 we get another surprise, Lamborghini introduces the Huracan RWD, a more hardcore version with slightly aggressive styling compared to the AWD version. Two years after the Huracan LP610-4, at the March 2016 Geneva Auto Show, the limited edition Huracan Avio is shown, while in November 2016 we finally get the Spyder version of the Huracan RWD.
March 2017 is another major milestone in Huracan production ... the long anticipated Performante is unveiled, the new King of the famous Nürburgring in Germany with a lap time of only 6:52.01 thanks to the innovative active aerodynamica ... up next will be the Huracan Performante Spyder.
With production numbers like this after only 3 years of production we can rest asured the record setting numbers of the Gallardo will easily be shattered by the Huracan in less than 10 years ... we could be seeing the Huracan production reach 15,000 in 4 to 5 years ... and we still haven't seen all the special editions or the facelift of the Huracan yet ... the future looks bright.
