Without a doubt Valentino Balboni is one of the most famous, and legendary test drivers ever ... he was in charge of development of some of the most important cars ever to leave the factory doors in Sant'Agata ... Chief test driver for Automobili Lamborghini SpA for many years and officially enjoying his retirement today.
But that doesn't mean the Balboni name has been forgotten ... Valentino Balboni is still famous among Lamborghini owners and enthusiasts, he regularly appears at Italian car events all around the world and you are bound to meet him of you admire the Lamborghini at those events ... always smiling and ready to have a chat ... Valentino Balboni is a living legend.
Today Valentino launched his own brand ... VB ... clear and simple, VB embodies all that Valentino stands for when it comes to exotic cars and high-speed GT ... a passion and knowledge that is unsurpassed ... even today.
On August 20, 2016 VB will unveil the first achievement during the Concorso Italiano at Monterey in California: a new dimension in sound ... a high end, limited edition, titanium lightweight exhaust system for the current flagship from Sant'Agata, the Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce.
This work of art takes 350 hours to create and weighs only 6.3kg (13.8 lbs) ... this is not just another ultra-light exhaust system ... this is a piece of art. Only 30 units will be made, each numbered and available for a select group of Lamborghini owners.
The specifications are very impressive: hand made from Titanium Grade 2 using T.I.G. welding of the segment tubes with billet cut titanium mounts that fit the OEM mounting points ... this is how it should be done in the end.
At the moment that is the only product listed on the VB website, but I'm sure Valentino Balboni will have some more surprises for us in the future ... his name is a legend already, now it is time to have a brand that reflects this.
