At this moment, Luc Donckerwolcke (40) is leading the design center at Automobili Lamborghini SpA, which he will continue doing until his latest creation, the Gallardo Spider is presented to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

On Monday, September 12. the new Gallardo Spider will be shown to the public for the first time, and only a few days later, on September 15., Luc Donckerwolcke will be appointed the new Director of Design at Seat, which also includes responsibility for the Seat Design Center, the latter being currently run by Steve Lewis, who together with Walter de’Silva (head of design at Audi AG) brought us the new sporty and emotional design of the recent Seat models …

The transitional period between Luc Donckerwolcke’s leaving Lamborghini design and the time when a successor can be found will be headed by Walter de’Silva himself, note that the current line-up of Automobili Lamborghini SpA was entirely designed by Luc Donckerwolcke himself … he introduced the innovation of the moveable air intakes on the ‘shoulders’ of the Murciélago. He also designed the Roadster version of the Lamborghini flagship, the recent Gallardo, the Concept S and the soon to be introduced Gallardo Spider. All this time retaining an extreme, uncompromising Italian style on these new Lamborghini’s.

‘The appointment of Luc is another important step into reinforcing SEAT’s commitment to design. But I can guarantee that we will do everything to continue to focus strongly on Lamborghini design as well, since design is one of the core technologies of all our three brands. It is a decisive factor for customers and the visible expression of our advanced technologies and performance capabilities.’
