On February 5. 2014 famous auction house RM Auctions had a very special car listed … a 2007 Lamborghini Countach Koenig … now you may wonder how this is possible, the Lamborghini Countach hasn’t been built since the late Eighties, so how can RM Auctions offer a 2007 model in 2014?

Simple, the car in question is in fact a replica, but not your average run of the mill replica … instead this very special model has been painstakingly welded together by artist Benedict Radcliffe … into a wireframe made up from 10mm wire that has been painted fluo orange in the end.

In fact this very special work of art was completed in December 2008 when it was taken to the Holborn Studios for a professional photo shoot, after that this one of a kind Lamborghini Countach was put on display at the Classic Car Club on Old Street … where it was also offered for sale.

In February 2009 the bright orange wireframe Lamborghini Countach Koenig 1:1 recreation is moved to the Hoxton Hotel in London only to be moved again a few months later … in August 2009 this artwork was sold … which meant it had to be transported to Germany, Berlin to be precise.

Fast forward to February 2014 and this truly unique Lamborghini related work of art goes under the hammer during the RM Auction in Paris, France … in the end it changes hands for €93,600 (Source UltimateCarpage)

Note that at the same auction a stunning 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 S in full  SV-specs changed hands for no less than €520,800 … an absolutely beautiful price for such a special car … which is an automotive work of art on her own in fact.
