The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 succeeded the Murciélago in 2011 … just over 5 years later, on March 22 2016 the chassis numbering has reached 5,000 … that is already nearly 1,000 units more than the Murciélago sold over a span of 10 years, it is safe to say the Aventador is a massive success for the Sant’Agata builder.
The car that set this important milestone is in fact an Aventador LP700-4 Roadster version finished in the stunning Rosso Bia, a special shade of metallic red that has been introduced on the Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce … Lamborghini calls it a ‘glittered’ shade … and it actually contains tiny particles of gold to create a very special shine.
Lamborghini Aventador chassis 5,000 was built for a customer in Italy by the way, with a facelift still being talked about and probably at least one more special edition I guess the final production numbers for the current V12 flagship model might reach close to 10,000 units by the time a successor takes over.
