Lamborghini's LMDh Gambit: The SC63's Real Mission

Squadra Corse's first prototype targets outright wins — and accelerates the hybrid tech bound for every road car.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse confirmed its first LMDh prototype, designated the SC63, for a 2024 debut in both the FIA World Endurance Championship's Hypercar class and IMSA's GTP class, targeting overall victories at Le Mans, Daytona, and Sebring.

Technology program first, racing effort second

Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann called the LMDh prototypes the company's "most sophisticated open laboratory on four wheels," aligning the SC63's hybrid powertrain development with Lamborghini's commitment to hybridize its entire road car range by the end of 2024.

Endurance data for the showroom

Every hour of racing generates data on turbo reliability, energy recovery efficiency, and battery thermal management that feeds back to Sant'Agata Bolognese and into the hybrid systems of cars like the Revuelto and the Temerario.
