Squadra Corse's Double Strike: An 830 hp Track-Only V12 and a Racing SUV That Rewrites the Rules

Lamborghini's racing division unveiled two machines at the World Finals, pushing into hypercar territory and SUV competition simultaneously.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse dropped two bombshells at the World Finals: a track-only V12 hypercar producing 830 hp from a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre engine, and the Urus ST-X, a race-prepped Super SUV headed for its first competitive outing at Misano Adriatico in 2020.

The Urus ST-X retains the road car's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 but wraps it in a lighter structure with a carbon fiber bonnet, enlarged air intakes, a rear carbon wing, and racing exhausts, all finished in Squadra Corse's signature Verde Mantis green with red accents.

Expanding beyond the Huracán paddock

These two announcements chart a division historically defined by the Huracán Super Trofeo and GT3 programs expanding in two directions at once: upward into ultra-exclusive hypercar territory and laterally into the SUV segment that drives Lamborghini's volume.

A limited-edition hypercar from Sant'Agata Bolognese

The hypercar, developed entirely by Squadra Corse and styled by Centro Stile in Sant'Agata Bolognese, will be a limited-edition, track-only machine that Lamborghini says will never enter a sanctioned racing series.

Pure combustion in an electrified era

The 830 hp figure arrives purely through a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 with no turbochargers and no hybrid assistance, a deliberate philosophical statement at a moment when electrification and forced induction dominate the conversation.
