Lamborghini SC63 LMDh prototype in Iron Lynx livery at speed on the Almería circuit with blurred desert mountains in the background

The SC63 Looked Like Lamborghini's Future. Then the Future Changed.

A three-day desert test captured a moment of genuine possibility — before the program was paused after just one racing season.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Iron Lynx brought the SC63 LMDh prototype to the Circuito de Almería in southern Spain for a three-day development test, covering nearly 2,000 km on a single chassis.

Grosjean's first laps in the SC63 cockpit

Romain Grosjean, who joined Lamborghini in early 2023 after racing a Huracán GT3 Evo2 in IMSA's GTD Pro class, called the SC63 "very good from the first laps" and praised the engineering foundation built before his arrival.

One season of flashes, then a pause

Lamborghini's official position is that the SC63 pause is temporary and contingent on finding a partner, while Squadra Corse channels its energy into the Temerario GT3 program built on lessons from Almería, Sebring, Le Mans, and Watkins Glen.
