Automobili Lamborghini SpA published a new press release about their achievements for 2020, while they were able to deliver a total of 7,430 Bulls in a difficult year, which is the second-best number ever (in 2019 they managed 8,205 deliveries), but they recorded their highest profit ever.

This might seem strange considering they sold fewer cars, but this is where things get interesting … one of the main reasons is probably the fact they’ve been delivering the multi-million dollar, Lamborghini Sian, to owners this year, despite being a limited production model, the profit on these high-value models is probably rather healthy too.

Another contributing fact to the bottom line is the fact more and more customers are turning to Lamborghini’s Ad Personam Studio to have custom options fitted to their car, and these don’t come cheap either, for instance, that amazing, clear carbon fiber roof option on an Aventador Coupe comes with a $60,000 price tag, so that’s a nice profit builder too.

We’re nearing the end of March, and Automobili Lamborghini SpA already confirms an order book to keep them going for nine months in 2021, so if you want to order a new Huracan or Urus at this time, you’re in for a long wait, so it seems they are in a healthy spot at the moment.

At the end of this press release about their ‘Strong profitability and second-best year ever for turnover and sales’ we read something interesting: “This year, the Huracán STO will be joined by two further new products, based on the iconic V12.

That confirms we won’t be seeing the Aventador successor in 2021, and probably not even in 2022, which is odd, as the LP700-4 was introduced ten years ago already, and the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and the comment about the aging gearbox have been vented for some years now, so it’s time for something new.

But it seems that’s not happening yet, instead, Lamborghini intends to unveil two more V12 ‘products’ later this year, so what are we about to see in a matter of months?

Will Lamborghini create another hybrid version on the current Aventador platform? Something like the Sian but less limited and at a more reasonable pricepoint perhaps, probably not using a supercapacitor but a more evolved battery pack?

But chances are that if Lamborghini does create an Aventador Hibrido, they will limit the power increase to just below the Sian total of 819 hp, if they take the Aventador S as a basis for the Hibrido they start with 740 hp, so they won’t add 100 hp in electric motors I guess.

But another option would be to create a kind of final, top-of-the-line edition as a swansong for the current V12 ICE naturally aspirated engine lineup … perhaps a GT as we’ve seen on the Diablo range, or why not an SCS, in line with the Huracán STO, a street-legal V12 racecar based on the stunning SCV12 Essenza … a Squadra Corse Stradale for instance with 800 hp and no hybrid.
I for one am looking forward to whatever Lamborghini has still in the pipeline on their Aventador range before a new hybrid model will succeed their most successful V12 ever.

Just for argument’s sake … what if Lamborghini wants to dip their first toe into the hypercar market using the current V12 model as a start? Some state the Centenario or the Sian are hypercars, but that mostly because of their price tag, but just imagine Lamborghini creating a cross between the fully electric Terzo Millennio concept and their V12 Vision GT.

A V12 powered, Aventador chassis-based ‘Ultimo’ model that looks more like a LeMans racecar, but fully street legal and with two lightweight carbon fiber seats on the inside and thanks to weight savings the addition of three electric motors doesn’t tip the scales much higher than the current Aventador SVJ but adds 76 hp each … on top of the 770 hp V12 engine this would mean this Lamborghini Ultimo comes with a massive 998 hp in total, now that would be a very nice conclusion for the Aventador legacy.

On April 26 the Italian Prime Minister released a decree that would allow a restart of car production on May 4th if all safety measures could be implemented … Automobili Lamborghini SpA has spent the last weeks to ensure a maximum of protection for the Lamborghini workforce and to educate the people with an in-depth campaign.

And the restart of production isn’t the only news from Sant’Agata, despite most worldwide dealers still being closed for business at this moment, and the cancelation of many important automotive events, Lamborghini will unveil a new model on May 7 … during a virtual launch event we will see a new car to complete the model range.

Despite the crisis that wreaked havoc on the world’s economy from early March on, Automobili Lamborghini SpA still managed to put down a healthy Q1 result, and once dealers can reopen and deliver new cars to customers they foresee a positive result for 2020 after all.

When we take a look at 2019 we see a 28% growth in turnover from 1,42 to 1,81 billion Euro while sales increased by 43% to 8,205 units (from 5,750 in 2018) which naturally includes almost 5,000 Urus … never before in the 56 years of existence has Lamborghini been able to reach these numbers, in 2020 we’ll be seeing the delivery of the limited edition Sián with 63 units, and perhaps a Sián Roadster to be unveiled on May 7th?

We all know the Lamborghini Urus is almost ready to be unveiled, to be able to supply enough cars for the high demand Lamborghini is expecting for this Super SUV the original factory surface will be doubled to 160,000 square meters by 2018, this increase holds a brand new office building that has been inaugurated recently … this building received 92 points from LEED, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a Platinum award was given at the opening of the building.

Introducing a new model, and building that car in high numbers requires a lot of people, by June 2017 Automobili Lamborghini SpA counted 1,500 employees … double the number that were working in Sant’Agata only ten years ago … for the Urus project a total of 400 permanent contracts have been signed with new employees.

Lamborghini will bring ‘a new design, superior power and a mix of advanced technologies’ to the Ricardo Tormo F1 track in Valencia, Spain next month … there were no photos with the invitation so it isn’t clear what model they are talking about as there are two different test mules being captured in spy shots lately.

Autocar and many other publications are convinced we will be seeing the new evolution of the V12 flagship model in Spain, with the ‘Aventador S’ being trademarked recently it could be time for a facelift of the original LP700-4 model that was introduced in 2011 … over five years ago by now, so it might be a wise marketing decision to ‘refresh’ the top of the line model.

Sure we had the Aventador LP720-4 and LP750-4 Superveloce already, but those were both limited edition models, not actual production versions, so the Aventador S should be considered as the successor to the LP700-4 model … probably not as powerful as the Superveloce but still raising the bar of 700hp to at least 730hp or 740hp.

Showing the new car for the first time to the press on a track will offer the option of enjoying the new technology at speed, things that aren’t possible on public roads, keep in mind the new Aventador will offer four-wheel steering for the first time, added power and active aerodynamics for improved airflow and better stability at speed.

Most likely the first customer cars for this new model will be delivered towards the Summer of 2017, by that time we could already be seeing the release of the Aventador S Roadster too, if they replace the original LP700-4 with the Aventador S they sure won’t be selling too many LP700-4 Roadster anymore … people will want to get the new model in the ‘open top’ variant as soon as possible.

Another Lamborghini model that has been frantically tested lately is the Huracan Performante, recent spy shots of this lightweight V10 in the snow have unveiled a new design for the center-lock wheels … this car could also be described as ‘new design, superior power and a mix of advanced technologies’ … so will we seen a new V12 in January … or will it be the new V10?

It would take me 12 years to return to the Museo Lamborghini for the second time, in early 2013 a friend and I admired an almost totally different collection … over the years many Lamborghini were added, but unfortunately also several were removed, some returned to their owner as they were on loan, others were put in storage to be able to show different models … a third visit in mid 2015 again had some cars replaced … unfortunately I missed the Urus and the Asterion during my visits.

On a continuing quest to improve the visitor’s experience, Automobili Lamborghini SpA decided it was time for a serious modernization of the Museo Lamborghini after 15 years … on June 9. 2016 Stefano Domenicali (CEO of Automobili Lamborghini SpA) inaugurated a completely new museum on the factory grounds in Sant’Agata.

A serious update was executed in the shortest possible time to avoid disruption of the regular visits to the museum, ETT Solutions, a specialized company managed by Antonio Ghini was able to create a visually stunning experience for the every increasing number of visitors to the official Museo Lamborghini.

By using light tinted floors combined with a dark painted ceiling and grey walls the numerous interactive panels draw your attention while the brightly shaded Lamborghini on display stand out even better now … when you enter the museum the howling engine sound of the Aventador and the Huracán greet you … making sure you are ready to enter the world of Lamborghini … starting with the bright red 350GT, the first production car built by the late Ferruccio Lamborghini, who would be celebrating his 100th birthday this year if he would still be with us … instead Automobili Lamborghini SpA is celebrating his anniversary with the Centenario LP770-4.

On the ground floor of the Museo Lamborghini we can admire masterpieces like the legendary Miura, even the one of a kind Miura Roadster is currently on display … remember that car was valued at US$ 10,000,000 a few months ago. A Diablo four-wheel drive is shown together with the P140 concept on an aluminum chassis and naturally the Sesto Elemento made completely from lightweight carbon fiber … the Asterion showcases the first Lamborghini with a hybrid drivetrain.

The past is shown in the form of the massive LM002 off-road Lamborghini, powered by a big V12 derived from the Countach initially … next to it the future is shown … the Urus Concept, a model that will go into production in a few years, in 2018 to be exact, as the third model in the lineup from Lamborghini.

A really interesting timeline is shown on a wall in the new Museo Lamborghini, a total of four large display will show the different models made in Sant’Agata over the years, cars like the Miura and the Sesto Elemento will pass as a slideshow for visitors to learn the history of some of the most legendary exotic cars ever made.

The first floor of the Museo Lamborghini will have an overview of all the main Lamborghini models, from the 400 GT 2+2 to the current Aventador, but on one side of the Museo you can admire the special race prepared Bulls in their pit lane, from the Diablo GT over the Gallardo and Huracán Super Trofeo to some of the classic Formula One cars powered by a Lamborghini V12 engine. Visitors can even get onto a real life podium and have their photograph taken … as Super Trofeo Champion!

Right now a section of the top floor is dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Lamborghini Miura, but that might be changed in the future to display other Raging Bulls … if you would like to visit this new Museo Lamborghini you’ll have to keep these opening hours in mind: from 10:00 in the morning to 17:00 in the evening from Monday through Saturday, but you might want to take a look at the official website for the Museo Lamborghini for more details.

From January 10. to January 13. 2014 HR Owen will show the brand new Lamborghini V10 model to a select group of invitees at Factory 7, a Victorian era factory located in the center of Shoreditch, that has been converted into an events area.

Security at the venue will be watertight and naturally no-one will be allowed to photograph or take footage of the car in front of them, but those that already have their order in the books and existing customers that might upgrade to the new V10 Bull will be able to admire the latest and bravest from Sant’Agata ahead of the public … the latter will have to wait until the 2014 Geneva Auto Show in March.

Judging from the cameo covered test prototype captured earlier and the images Italian car magazine Quattroruote published we might be getting a V10 Lamborghini that takes some styling cues from the Aventador flagship, mix that with a rear design looking similar to the Sesto Elemento style and an engine delivering at least 600 hp from a 5.2 liter displacement … and you just know this Bull will put the competition to shame once again.

The first public unveil will be at the official press conference ahead of the Geneva Auto Show, but even without ever seeing the new V10 Lamborghini many people have already ordered one, delivery of their cars is expected towards the Summer of 2014 … so if you intend to wait until March 2014 before deciding to put an order in you might not receive your very own Lamborghini V10 before late 2014 … if not early 2015.

Based on the spy shot of the black and white cameo covered prototype Martin Winczura put together a very nice looking render that just might show us how the new Lamborghini V10 model will look like … still we’ll have to wait a few more weeks to know for sure … keep in mind Lamborghini is intending to reveal more details and information during December 2013.

This 2013 model will be available from November 2012 on at all authorized dealerships and offers modified styling compared to the current LP560-4 model, more precisely up front and at the rear.

Very sharp styling made its appearance on this new LP560-4 model, both triangular and trapezoidal design have become a key part of the Raging Bull language, and if you look at the front of the new Gallardo LP560-4 you immediately notice the diagonal lines in the air intakes both color coded to the car and finished in black the new lines make the Gallardo look wider than the original model.

On the side of the front bumper on the new Gallardo LP560-4 the air intakes became larger and we see brand new 19-inch wheels called ‘Apollo polished’ in a very special finish the wheels receive a matte black finish before the spokes get machined into a nice polished silver.

At the rear the air outlets get diagonal lines too to keep in style with the front, and they also grown larger to extract hot air even faster. Note that Lamborghini offers an optional ‘Style Package’ that turns several matte black parts on the front spoiler, grilles and rear trim in a high gloss black finish resulting in a very powerful look.

I must admit the look and feel of the new Gallardo LP560-4 is very different from the original style, the new front and rear sections look special while the interior took a more subtle route, the black alcantara seats receive the stunning Q-Citura stitching while the dashboard gets finished in leather and we see the yellow shade again on the central console and the door panels while the door handles get the glossy black treatment.
