Overview

The Urus remains Lamborghini’s only sport utility vehicle in the lineup for the 2021 model year. Self-proclaimed as the world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle, we like to call it a luxurious, sporty SUV – where outlandish performance meets comfort and versatility. It offers best-in-class driving dynamics and is easily the best performing SUV on the planet. The Lamborghini Urus is anything but your typical grocery hauler.

More Lamborghini-esque exterior paint options are available for the 2021 MY. They’re all very extroverted in nature, of course, with bright shades of yellow, orange and green now available to choose from. The new Pearl Capsule package adds 23” wheels and black trim pieces. More equipment comes standard too, with adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring now part of the base offerings.

For 2023, Lamborghini has introduced new versions of its Urus SUV called the Urus S and Urus Performante. The Urus S replaces the standard Urus with the same 657 horsepower as the Urus Performante, which represents a 16 horsepower boost from the outgoing Urus. The Urus Performante is the new range-topping variant of the Urus, positioned above the Urus and Urus S. It has a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 657 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 mph. The Urus Performante is around 104 lbs lighter than the Urus S variant, making it faster than the Urus S despite having the same engine.

According to CEO Stefan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s 2024 Urus will not have significant changes, but it will feature a hybrid powertrain that will replace or complement the current 657-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine.

Lamborghini Urus. The first modern Lamborghini SUV and one hell of an SUV at that. The Urus looks aggressive and we think it has just the right level of Lambo styling cues, without going overboard. The Urus is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 that is good for 641 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Performance is astonishing for the big SUV, with the 0-60 mph trek over in a mere 3.2 seconds (company says 3.6, but testers are doing it in 3.2), on its way to a top speed of 190 mph. The Urus drives better than any other SUV and is definitely the performance pick in that segment. On the inside the Urus has decent luggage space and a generous helping of electronics and infotainment equipment.

Lamborghini Urus Concept. The Lamborghini Urus concept was unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show on 23 April 2012. Later, the SUV was also shown at Pebble Beach in 2012. Powered by a 5.2 L V10 engine shared with the Gallardo, the engine generated a theoretical maximum power output of 600 PS (592 hp; 441 kW) and was accompanied with an all-wheel-drive system.

Lamborghini Urus ST-X Concept. The Urus ST-X is a racing, non-street-legal variant of the standard Urus, built by the Squadra Corse Division of Lamborghini.
