A SUCCESS STORY
Lamborghini has set a lot of sales and production records over the last few decades. On the revenue side, Lamborghini has enjoyed double digit growth in 20 of the last 24 years. With the exception of the financial crisis and Covid, it hasn't missed a beat, with records falling on an almost annual basis. In 2020, revenue was $1.6 billion Euro, which was slightly down on 2019s record $1.8 billion Euro year. In 2019, sales, turnover and profitability recorded unprecedented levels in the history of the brand and if it wasn't for Covid, 2020 would have continued that trend.
The year 2020 wasn't easy for many companies worldwide and the Lamborghini factory in Italy was actually shut down for a period of 70 days due to the pandemic, as a result of the Italian government directive to make sure employees were safe, but even with over two months of no production at all. Yet, Lamborghini still managed to deliver 7,430 units, which is only a 9% drop compared to 2019.
A STRONG PORTFOLIO
Lamborghini maintains an attractive product portfolio and a strong global sales presence with almost 200 dealers serving 51 countries. The major markets for Lamborghini continue to be the United States, Germany, China, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
Perhaps the best way to show just how much the company has grown is to look at individual models. The Aventador crossed the 10,000th production mark and is still going strong, whereas the Murcielago hit a total of 4,099 cars in its production life. The Huracan hit 14,022 cars made in only five years, a feat that took the Gallardo over ten years of production to do.
The real volume driver though is Lamborghini's SUV, the Urus. It flew off the showroom floor in its first few years, now easily the largest seller in the range. The Urus hit 10,000 units made in less than two years which is just astounding.

Revenue Trends
Lamborghini total revenue trends year over year. Lamborghini has enjoyed strong double digit growth each year. The financial crisis in 2008 and 2009 had a big impact on revenue, driving a 40% drop in volume. Covid on the other hand had less of an impact than expected, with sales revenue down only 11%, thanks in part to the success of the Urus.
Production trends
Annual unit volumes growth rates and trends clearly show how volumes have gone from strength to strength for lamborghini. While the gallardo started things off, it was the huracan that kept the momentum going. The urus has clearly been a game changer.
