At this moment I don’t think any customer has already received the keys to his brand new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 yet, only some test cars have been handed out to various magazines around the world, our local dealer hasn’t even received his showroom model … which if he does, he isn’t allowed to sell to the public yet, how about that.
So you’ve got money to burn, possibly even put down a deposit and you still haven’t smelled the new leather and touched that big red cover over the start button … but things are about to change in few months time.
Up to now you could only admire a 1/18 or 1/43 scale model of the Lamborghini Aventador, but Electronic Arts is finalizing their latest Need for Speed game … I’m sure most of you will know this long running series of games, the lastest Hot Pursuit version featured cars like the Reventon, the Murciélago LP640 and LP650 Roadster, even the Reventon Roadster was present together with several Gallardo models like the LPP560, the Spyder derivative, the Balboni limited edition and the LP570-4 Superleggera evolution … you even got to drive the Polizia version … big fun, naturally I’ve played this game on my PS3 too.
But now the NFS series will bring us ‘the Run’, a race from California to New York … yep, on real, existings roads and in cities like Chicago, all the fun of the earlier games which were to be driven on fantasy roads now available on landmark streets … some call it a combination of NFS Hot Pursuit and GTA … I’ve only seen the trailers, and they are amazing.
There is one small catch however … if you want to take the wheel of the magnificent Lamborghini Aventador you’ll have to get the special Limited Edition version of the game, as this is the only one that adds this new Raging Bull to the game … pre-order is available now, and I’ve put in mine already.
If all goes as planned over at Electronic Arts we will be seeing the first shipment of The Run on the shelves in the second half of November 2011 … I for one am looking forward to this date.
