If all the rumors are right we might be seeing a real Lamborghini Aventador Roadster next week in Geneva, today some site even posted ‘spy shots’ of a black car that had some strange black tape on the roof, looking close at some of the shots we can determine there is a removable roof section over the seats, probably finished in lightweight carbon fiber.

Other than that weird looking camouflage tape the car didn’t look too different, which would mean the Aventador Roadster is very close to the closed version in terms of looks, especially with the roof in place, so after the unconventional roof construction of the Murciélago has Lamborghini decided to go back to basics and just have a ‘targa’ style roof panel that can be removed and most likely stored up front ?

If that is the case the photos on this page of a 1/18 scale model that has been ‘cut’ into a Roadster version of the Lamborghini Aventador might be really close to the real deal in the end. Naturally the roof has been removed to unveil the interior, so at the front we see the normal curve of the windshield.

But at the rear things are a bit different, for one there isn’t a straight cut away, the angles resemble the air intakes behind the seats, also in the middle there is a small indent that has the same shape as the front of the engine cover.

On the side we see another mat black part that is a side window on the regular model, here it is cut in a way that looks loosely like the sides of the Murciélago Roadster model, using this combination of glossy black and mat black really makes the Aventador Roadster look different but still very recognizable … imagine this on a Bianco Canopus model, perhaps with the mat black sections in high gloss carbon fiber ?

I for one am really anxious to see what Automobili Lamborghini SpA has prepared for us at the Geneva Auto Show, will it be an Aventador Roadster, a production version of the Sesto Elemento … or something totally different ? Only time will tell.
