Looks like the Squadra Corse department at Automobili Lamborghini SpA isn’t wasting any time … they have the Super Trofeo version of the brand new Huracán LP610-4 already in an advanced stage of development, in fact they plan to take the car to renowned Vallelunga track in Italy to start shakedown testing.
This will allow Chief Test driver Giorgio Sanna to fine-tune the new competitor in the Super Trofeo Series 2015 season, together with Adrian Zaugg and Fabio Babini, two official Super Trofeo test drivers and support from the Young Drivers Program the Squadra Corse team will finalize development of the new car so it can be entered in all three Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series next year, where the Huracán will compete against the current Gallardo race car … albeit in a different class.
At the moment all efforts are focused on the development of the Huracán Super Trofeo car, but the press release also states “the New Huracán Super Trofeo will ensure Lamborghini a key role in international motor sport” … so I guess a GT3 version of the new V10 Bull won’t be too far behind.
Only a dark teaser shot has been published right now, but we already notice a square center air intake, what looks like modified headlights, in front of the windshield the triangular outlets are back and on top of the fenders a series of slots have been installed … of these fenders are widened isn’t really visible on the teaser shot, but my guess would be yes.
Can’t wait to see more photos, and different angles of the Huracán Super Trofeo race car …
