Automotive forums have been buzzing with talk about a brand new Gallardo evolution that could very well be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show in a few days.

So what is the talk all about, apparently there have been tests in Portugal with a ‘taped’ Gallardo showing new headlights and taillights among other things, but another styling cue became obvious too, the front spoiler took it’s styling from the Murciélago LP640 unit, so expect the mid section to be higher than the two outer sections. The headlights use LED technology like those found on the Audi R8, a model that is probably in direct competition when the more powerful edition of the R8 becomes available.

At the rear the lights now use LED technology, again like those used on the V12 flagship model, and dual exhaust pipes could very well adorn either side of this new Gallardo evolution, four massive tips would look really nice on this evolution. Also the grilles at the rear have been modified, now running along the full width of the car.

New ‘cross’ spoke wheels could be fitted to this V10 model, while on the inside new graphics could be used on the dials and new, better finished, switches could very well be featured on the dashboard.

Naturally no details have been officially given, but these specs are roaming the internet already :

Gallardo LP560/4 with a power output of no less than 560 Bhp and acceleration figures of 0 to 100 Km/h in only 3.7 seconds.

Other noteworthy differences compared with the current Gallardo models : a new Launch control system, modified 5.2 Liter V10 engine boasting higher revs and less CO2 output than the competition. Enhanced suspension, brakes and faster e-Gear installed, front, side and thorax airbags mounted. The increased power output will result in faster lap times than any direct competitor which could lead us to believe this car is also an answer to the ‘in house’ competition of the Audi R8, but still a natural evolution just like the Murciélago LP640 was.
