Ferruccio Elio Arturo Lamborghiniwas born on April 28.1916 under the Zodiac sign of Taurus, so today we would be celebrating his birthday, but sadly he passed away in 1993, but his legacy when it comes to extreme supercars lives on long after his death, even today we are able to enjoy what he started in 1963 when Ferruccio founded Automobili Lamborghini SpA in Sant’Agata Bologna by building a state-of-the-art bespoke car factory from the ground up, the first Lamborghini automobile was the 350 GTV prototype.
In the Seventies, Ferruccio decided it was time to take things slower and sold his stake in most of his companies, apart from the car factory he also owned a tractor building factory and an oil-burner business, to retire at his estate near Perugia, further South in Italy, where he began producing wine … known as ‘The blood of the Miura’, the car that really made Lamborghini famous around the world.
When Chrysler took over Automobili Lamborghini SpA they replaced the Countach with the Diablo, which would become the last Raging Bull car he would ever experience but still turns heads 30 years later … Ferruccio Lamborghini died on February 20. 1993 in Perugia, Italy … only two months before his 77th birthday, but his legacy of exotic cars lives on, remember the 2016 Centenario, a tribute to his 100th Anniversary.
