During the 2015 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo season in Europe, North America, and Asia, the Gallardo would still be eligible, but it would have to compete next to the brand new Huracán Super Trofeo that made its Global Debut at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering” in August 2014 as the LP620-2, only 10 more hp compared to the street version of the new Huracán, but with rear-wheel drive only.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make series was already a success with the Gallardo, but when the Huracan took over, things really started going well, it wasn’t long until they added an in-house developed Huracán GT3 race car, effectively putting Reiter Engineering GmbH who developed the Gallardo GT3 aside, the Squadra Corse department grew up, and only three years later, in September 2017 they came up with the first evolution of the Huracán Super Trofeo car and called it the Super Trofeo EVO, a massive redesign turned the V10 into an extremely aggressive looking car (the GT3 version got the EVO suffix too by the way), and another important change was the replacement of Blancpain for Roger Dubuis.

Another four years later, and after more than 400 Lamborghini Huracán race cars have been produced, Squadra Corse apparently deemed it necessary to evolve the successful one-make racer again for the 2022 season and call it the EVO2, we might have a word with the department that comes up with these names I’m sure they could come up with something more interesting than ‘EVO2’ for this brand new Bull for the track.

A small detail, but very interesting, the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo and GT3 race cars are actually built on the same assembly line as the regular streetcars, it must be cool to visit the factory and see one of these ultra-aggressive looking Super Trofeo EVO2 cars between an Huracán EVO coupe and an EVO RWD Spyder the contrast must be mindblowing seeing those together.

The new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 will be seen in action during the 2022 season, which will the 14th season of the series, and this version of the Huracán ST is the most high-performance one ever to race in this one-make series, it is safe to say the Lamborghini Huracán model is the best-selling sports car ever for Lamborghini since 1963, and the option to have gentlemen racers and professionals battle it out on the track in the Super Trofeo series has surely helped to reach unseen production numbers for this ‘Baby Lamborghini’.

From the start of the Super Trofeo championship in 2009, a total of 950 drivers have competed for over 310 hours on famous track all over the globe, and the experience gathered from racing these bespoke Huracán to the limit on the track had surely helped the development of the road cars too, it’s a win-win situation for both venues, and with a total of 400 pure race cars built up to April 2021, the intention is to reach the 500 units mark with this new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 that is available for €250,000 before taxes, and just in case you already own the ‘old’ Lamborghini Huracán EVO version, there is a conversion kit available in early 2022 to EVO2 specifications, we will see the EVO2 in action on May 28 at Le Castellet, during round two of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.

When we take a closer look at the new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 we notice some Sian influence at the front, with the open fender next to the new, high-intensity LED headlights, the overall design of the new front bumper resembles the Huracán STO road car, the vents above the front wheels extract air from the hot disk brakes, but also direct air to the side sills, adding downforce at the same time as creating an airflow into the intakes for the rear wheels.

At the rear, we also notice new LED taillights, according to the press release they remind us of the legendary Lamborghini Countach, but our attention gets drawn to that intricate rear diffuser, and that massive, imposing, clear carbon fiber rear wing, it is clear from every angle this car was developed for optimal airflow, there are a lot of vertical fins to be found everywhere on the body of this Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, I’m sure this car will be rock stable at tremendous speeds with this kind of aerodynamics.

And it not only a cosmetic change that distinguishes the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 from the previous EVO version, on this new model the front brakes go to 390 mm rotors compared to the 380 mm units on the previous model, but this also allows the use of larger brake pads for better performance and wear. The engine is still the naturally aspirated 5.2-Liter V10 unit with 620 hp going to the rear wheels only through an X-Trac sequential six-speed gearbox.

Sant’Agata Bolognese, May 26, 2021 – Lamborghini Squadra Corse presents the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, the latest version of racing car that will be used across each of the three continental Lamborghini series, starting in 2022. Radical aerodynamic refinements and an uncompromising design created by Lamborghini Centro Stile make the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 the most high-performance version ever to race in the one-make series, which in 2021 contested its 13^th season.

“Seven years have passed since we introduced the first Huracán Super Trofeo at Pebble Beach, and now Squadra Corse is adding a new chapter to its history,” commented Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “The Huracán is one of the biggest bestsellers in the history of the brand, and the Super Trofeo has additionally helped to increase its success”.

Since 2009, 950 drivers have raced in the Super Trofeo, competing in over 310 hours at the most prestigious tracks in the world. Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked: “The Super Trofeo is the best testing ground for technical and aerodynamic solutions for both road cars and GTs, and with the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 we have definitely taken another step forward. Aerodynamics and design are the areas in which Squadra Corse and Centro Stile have concentrated on the most. From an aesthetic point of view, the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 takes the design of the previous generations to the extreme, anticipating the styling elements that will debut on road cars in the coming years. The front end has undergone a radical change, featuring new high-intensity full LED light clusters with a hexagonal design and a pronounced “omega” lip that joins the carbon-fiber fins and reinforces the stylistic link with the Huracán STO. Also new are the air curtain intakes, which optimize airflow, by keeping it adherent to the sides, as well as downforce.

The rear, dominated by the large carbon-fiber wing, was inspired by minimalism and lightness. The frames of the new LED light clusters pay tribute to the design of the Countach and are efficiently supported by the arched carbon-fiber bumper, which harmoniously links the aerodynamic appendages located behind the wheels to the redesigned diffuser fins.

Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini Head of Design, commented: “When we approached the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 project, we immediately thought of the concept of ‘Racing in style’. That is, a combination of the typical aggressiveness of the Huracán racing cars and the classic stylistic features of Lamborghini’s DNA. In addition, the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 represents a futuristic aesthetic approach that partially anticipates the design elements of the next range of road cars”.

Innovations are also seen in numerous components of the bodywork, such as the side member paneling and the aforementioned rear aerodynamic appendages, replacing plastic materials with carbon fiber, while maintaining the maximum sustainability in terms of running costs. In addition, the rear fenders are now composed of a single element, which includes part of the side spoiler, for optimal surface continuity.

The braking system, designed and developed by Squadra Corse, has also undergone changes. The steel front discs are increased from 380 to 390 mm; the new calipers can accommodate pads with a new design and a larger surface area to optimize performance and consumption. Propulsion is entrusted to the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that delivers a maximum power output of 620 HP, to be managed with a sequential six-speed X-Trac gearbox and combined with rear-wheel drive.

The new rear-wheel-drive version of the Huracán EVO is equipped ex-factory with a different bumper than the other models in this series. The NOVITEC designers developed a new naked-carbon front spoiler for it, which attaches to the lower part of the fascia. To reduce front-axle lift at high speeds further, they fitted an additional front wing above the center section. They also sculpted carbon front flaps to add further striking emphasis to the racing-inspired design and direct the airstream even more precisely into the side air intakes of the front fascia.

NOVITEC also offers a special trunk lid as an option. The slits integrated on the left and right route the air through a duct integrated into the hood and produce more downforce as a result. In concert with the NOVITEC front spoiler, this measure helps to further improve handling stability at high speeds.

The NOVITEC naked-carbon rocker panels give the powerful mid-engine sports car an even lower visual stance. What is more, they also improve cooling of the rear brakes thanks to their integrated air intakes. That same composite material is used to manufacture the NOVITEC mirror covers and the air intakes on the rear side windows, which stretch further forward and optimize the supply of fresh air to the engine bay.

The NOVITEC designers employ aerodynamic fine-tuning also to improve the air supply to the engine bay. Customers can choose between a complete NOVITEC naked-carbon hood with larger intakes or the variant shown in the attached images. Coupes ordered ex-factory with a glass hood can be upgraded with air intakes on the left and right in airbox design, which optimize the airflow through the engine bay.

The NOVITEC carbon rear wing dominates the appearance and is particularly aerodynamically efficient to boot. Its sophisticated design provides further increased rear-axle downforce at high speeds. The NOVITEC rear diffuser can further boost this effect.

The NOVITEC design upgrade for the Lamborghini RWD also includes extravagant wheels, of course. They were developed in cooperation with American specialist Vossen, which also produces the wheels using cutting-edge forging technology. As the rear-wheel-drive model is available either with a conventional bolt pattern or with a center lock design, the NOVITEC NL4 rims also are available with these two types of attachment systems.

The stylistic device of using six delicate spokes that taper off into the outer edge of the rim in the shape of a wide-open Y makes the wheels look even more humongous than they already are. The staggered combination of 20- and 21-inch diameters on the front and rear axle puts even greater emphasis on the wedge shape of the Italian two-seater. The front axle sports 9Jx20 wheels fitted with 245/30 ZR 20 high-performance tires. Size 12.5Jx21 rims at the rear axle shod with 325/25 ZR 21 tires deliver outstanding grip.

To give the rear-drive Huracán even sportier and more direct handling, NOVITEC offers two options developed at great expense: The NOVITEC sports springs were specifically adapted to the changed weight distribution of the RWD between front and rear axle. They lower the ride height of the Lamborghini by about 35 millimeters.

RWD owners looking to tailor the suspension even more precisely to their personal requirements can opt for the NOVITEC aluminum coilover suspension, which was developed in cooperation with KW. Its solid-piston technology shocks were originally designed for GT3 motor racing, and feature 13 selectable compression and rebound stages both in the low-speed and in the high-speed range. In addition, the ride height of the Lamborghini can be continuously lowered by up to 35 millimeters with this package. Despite further gains in agility and driving safety at the limit, the NOVITEC sports suspension offers outstanding ride comfort for this type of vehicle.

While the Huracán EVO’s naturally aspirated V10 engine rated at 449 kW / 610 hp remains itself untouched, a NOVITEC RACE high-performance exhaust system performance can optimize its power delivery. Customers can choose from variants made from stainless steel or the even lighter INCONEL material used in Formula 1 racing. To lower the temperatures in the engine bay, these exhaust systems come with thermal insulation. The effect that can optionally be further boosted with 999 fine gold plating. There are also tailpipes in a combination of carbon and stainless steel that are perfect match for the NOVITEC carbon package for the bodywork.

Are they preparing a 750hp Lamborghini Urus Performante in Sant’Agata, or might it be the 820hp Urus Hibrido, while other sources depict the test mule currently being photographed as the mid-life facelift model, a Urus EVO perhaps?

Right from the introduction of the Urus in 2018, Lamborghini claimed it would become the first production car in hybrid form from Sant’Agata, the Sián isn’t really a production model right, but three years later we still haven’t seen the Urus Hibrido unveiled.

But recently we’ve seen multiple photographs of a Urus test mule out in the snow and driving around the factory in Sant’Agata … and it featured a different front and rear design, many dubbed it the Urus EVO, the mid-life facelift for Lamborghini’s Super SUV … but is it?

According to Car Magazine, this test mule is the 2022 Urus facelift, and it will include a Hibrido, this PHEV version will come with a Urus 2.0 evolution, and no sooner, the rumor is the MY2022 Urus will come with a slight power increase to 675 hp (only 25 hp more than the current Urus).

But the Urus Hibrido will be the most powerful Super SUV to date, packing as much as 820 hp combined, a Porsche sourced ICE LK5 engine is mentioned that will deliver 600 hp while the hybrid part adds 220 hp to this. Chances are the Urus Hibrido will pack up to 250 kg of additional weight, but her transmission could cope with 125kW of electric power for a total of 660lb-ft of torque.

These figures would put the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid to shame with 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, while the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid comes in at 465 hp and also 516 lb-ft of torque, while the Porsche gets 100kW electric power … the Urus Hibrido would shatter both on the open road, despite the 250kg penalty in weight.

Many articles mention a Urus Sport RS, with more power than the current model, but that name sounds strange to me, what if Lamborghini is preparing to launch a Urus Performante, a more potent, lighter version … wouldn’t that be better than calling it RS?

Rumor has it the Lamborghini Urus Performante would come with a 100hp power increase to 750hp, but also lose weight compared to the standard Urus, anything between 50kg to 80kg is mentioned, and she would come with more aggressive styling … and isn’t that exactly what this test mule showcases?

The test mule comes with additional air intakes underneath the headlights, and the side intakes on the bumper are different too, even at the rear we noticed the air vent is moved toward the rear wheels, and on that test car, the exhausts don’t look the same either.

Wouldn’t it be great to get a Urus from the factory with a carbon fiber hood, roof, and part of the rear hatch, combined with rearview mirrors, door handles and lower body panels in carbon fiber too, and while we’re at it, a set of cross spokes wheels inspired by the Huracán STO units.

On the inside combine this with Alcantara covered lightweight carbon fiber seats and lots of visible carbon fiber on the dashboard, central console, and door panels … I sure wouldn’t mind a Super SUV like that.

Just take a look at the Lamborghini SC20 that was recently unveiled, built by Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse after a design from the Centro Stile, at the request of a customer … only one in the world, with a rumored price tag over €6,000,000, exclusivity has to be paid.

But there are other options on the market, just take a look at what Mansory has been doing for decades already, they are specialized in taking the world’s most luxurious or powerful cars, and transform them into something completely different … some people don’t like what Mansory does, but you have to admit their workmanship is beyond expectations.

Remember Mansory was the first to have a complete body kit for the Aventador ready at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, just one year after the new V12 flagship was unveiled, a year later, in 2013, Mansory made another major impact with their Carbonado LP1250, with a total power output of 1,250 hp thanks to a twin-turbo setup, limited to 6 units.

Later in 2013, at the IAA in Frankfurt, Mansory showed the Carbonado Apertos, the Roadster version of their Carbonado, again with 1,250 hp, but now based on the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, and limited to only 3 units worldwide, at that time listed at €1,200,000.

After that Mansory also started doing one-off, bespoke builds, the first one being the Mansory J.S.1. from 2016, requested by London-based James Shunt, based on the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce, with a power increase to 830 hp.

This brings us to this 2019 Mansory Carbonado EVO, an evolved Roadster version of the J.S.1. almost, and again limited to just one unit, with a rumored list price of €2,000,000 and thanks to a completely rebuilt V12 engine and the addition of a pair of turbochargers, a power output of 1,250 hp … so about 500 hp more for €4 million less than the SC20 … and you do get a full windshield and roof panels on the Mansory Carbonado EVO.

Unlike the 2020 Mansory Cabrera, which is based on the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the Carbonado EVO takes an Aventador Roadster to start with, but just about nothing from the original Sant’Agata built Bull remains, the entire car is taken apart, the body panels are removed, the interior is taken apart, and even the engine comes out for a complete rebuild from the ground up.

Mansory puts a new front bumper on the Carbonado EVO, which styling looks inspired by the Lamborghini Veneno, a new front hood with large vents is fitted, with additional vents in front of the windshield. The front fenders from Mansory are 40mm wider compared to the factory original units, and these new ones come with vents above the wheels, even the door skin is replaced, and now features a Y-shaped extrusion. Wider rear fenders that also come with three vents on top bring us to a completely redesigned rear diffuser and an amazing looking rear wing.

Note that the entire Carbonado EVO is finished in a satin gloss, clear carbon fiber pattern made by Mansory in-house, even the aero rings on the Raze-7 inspired, center lock, forged wheels which Mansory calls the CV.7 Air C units, 9×20 inch for the front, 13×21 inch for the rear,  and Pirelli P ZERO tires size 255/30ZR20 front and 355/25ZR21 rear.

And the customization continues for the interior of the Carbonado EVO, with a full Alcantara upholstery, every part inside this bespoke Lamborghini has been replaced by Mansory, either in this natural material that’s both durable and soft or with that B2 bomber inspired carbon fiber pattern. A Q-Citura inspired, hand-stitched pattern is visible throughout the interior … and in line with Mansory, the red-covered start button had been moved to the top of the windshield … in true fighter jet fashion.

The Mansory Carbonado EVO can reach 100 km/h in only 2.6 seconds thanks to that rebuilt V12 with two turbochargers, the top speed has risen to 380 km/h making this V12 one of the fastest in the world … sadly only one has been built, but I think if your bank account is big enough, you will be able to have Mansory create a Cabrera Apertos based on the Aventador SVJ Roadster … just for you.

It seems this livery will be a collector special, much like the 10th edition livery we’ve seen in 2018 on the Super Trofeo EVO car, but this time the racer commemorates the street car, which is a rather inverted world as the Huracán STO is the V10 Super Trofeo Omologata, a street-legal, homologated version of the race car.

And now this ‘Omolagata’ inspires the new 2021 Super Trofe EVO race car as a bespoke livery, and you have to admit it does look really nice on the track-only version too, I can’t wait to see this one in action on some of the world’s most important tracks once the season starts, which is mid-April for the European series on the famous Monza track.

The European Super Trofeo series will be in its 12th season, while the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia series will start in Sepang in Malaysia on the weekend of 28 and 29 March for the ninth year already, the eighth Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America championship will commence at Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama during the first weekend of April.

Both would transform a factory standard Lamborghini Aventador into a low-riding, wide-fender supercar, the air ride suspension would lower the Raging Bull completely to the ground, usually sitting on massively wide Forgiatto wheels, hiding inside wide fender flares that were riveted to the original bodywork at first. Later on, LB-Works offered these kits with ‘fender replacements’, to avoid having to drill into the expensive Lamborghini panels.

Add a deep front spoiler, some low side sills, and a massive rear wing, and you would end up with an LB-Works Aventador, but Kato-san took things further with his Limited edition version, this time even more aggressive fender flares were designed to accompany even wilder side sills and front spoiler design. The rear diffuser gets vertical plates and a new rear wing in a ‘hanging’ design completes the ‘Limited’ kit from LB-Works.

But the thing is, only 50 of these Limited edition kit would be made for the entire world, to celebrate Wataru Kato’s 50th anniversary, 30 of those were destined for Japanese customers while 20 would go overseas … at nearly US$60,000 each when you opt for lightweight carbon fiber.

And it seems all of these 50 kits are sold out by now … so it’s time for something new, and Kato-san was thinking the same as he published a photo on his Instagram account stating he will unveil a final LB Aventador EVO kit on January 19, this time it seems he will be limiting it at 20 units.

From the teaser shot it looks like this new LB Aventador EVO kit will have an even more impressive rear wing design, with vertical fins that go all the way down to the bodywork, much like we’ve seen on the new Lamborghini SC20 lately, the rest of the body is obscured on the image, so we have to wait until the 19th to see how Kato-san’s imagination has created an even more special kit for the Lamborghini V12 flagship.

At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Mansory unveiled the Venatus, based on the Lamborghini Urus, the Venatus is a complete restyle, bumpers, fenders, hood, and even interior, Mansory left no part untouched when they create their Venatus, their Geneva show car boasted a matt grey body with orange accents, and they continued that theme on the inside, where Mansory restyled the stitching pattern on the seats … they even named this car the ‘Venatus 1/1’.

But Mansory didn’t stop there, the Geneva show car might have been a one-off, but Mansory released a modified Venatus EVO kit that can be ordered by any Lamborghini Urus owner, and this EVO kit comes with not one, not two, but three rear wings … and if the aggressive aero kit isn’t enough to set your Urus apart from the neighbors one, get the bespoke Mansory interior too.

Mansory is famous for their in-house carbon fiber work, they have their own autoclave by the way, but this German-based manufacturer is also a master in creating bespoke interiors, using leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber, and even wood to give the customer the option of having a one-off interior … and Mansory can replace everything inside the factory standard Lamborghini Urus, not a single part is left untouched, the stitching pattern is changed, even the start button is moved to the roof in a Mansory Venatus EVO.

On the Mansory Venatus EVO you get three, center-mounted exhaust tips in the new rear diffuser, naturally they mount 24 inch forged wheels … but it doesn’t stop there … Mansory offers an 810hp Power Performance kit with a new turbocharger for the Lamborghini Urus, from the factory, this Super SUV comes with 650hp.

Interior & Exterior Design

For the exterior of the Huracán EVO Fluo Capsule, buyers have a range of exciting choices. The matt black roof, wing mirrors, side sill, and rear diffuser are elegantly offset with fluo color lines that complement the body’s special paint. Even the large intakes in the front bumper are presented in black to create a cohesive look.

Five striking shades are available:

• Giallo Clarus: A matt yellow that adds a burst of brightness.

Interior

Performance

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Fluo Capsule is a special edition of the Huracán EVO, a mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini. The Fluo Capsule was introduced to showcase Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program and features unique design elements and vibrant colors to make it stand out from the standard Huracán EVO.

Performance-wise, the Huracán EVO Fluo Capsule shares the same specifications as the regular Huracán EVO. A 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine powers the model that produces 640 horsepower (470 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to all four wheels via an advanced all-wheel-drive system.

The Huracán EVO Fluo Capsule can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of around 202 mph (325 km/h). It also benefits from Lamborghini’s Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) system, which actively adjusts the car’s aerodynamics to optimize downforce and reduce drag for improved performance and handling.

In terms of exterior design, the Fluo Capsule features a matte finish in a choice of five eye-catching colors: Verde Shock, Arancio Livrea, Celeste Fedra, Arancio Dac, and Giallo Clarus. The exterior also has contrasting accents in high-gloss black, including the roof, mirrors, and rear diffuser. Inside, the cabin boasts sport seats with Alcantara upholstery, which can be matched to the exterior color, and Fluo Capsule embroidery on the seats and floor mats.

Price

The base price of the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Fluo Capsule is $498,665, which is approximately $39,000 more than the standard Huracan Evo, not including on-road costs. The specific example mentioned was equipped with numerous options that increased the price by a substantial $72,810. Some of these options include a transparent engine cover, carbon-ceramic brakes, a forged composites package, and sports seats, which many consider essential. However, spending $6,480 for Apple CarPlay might be viewed as excessive.

Fluo Capsule: a new collection of bright and bold colors for the V10 super sports car, realized in a matt paint exterior with complementary interior color and trim options.

Inspired by the tradition of vibrant colors that enhance the inimitable lines and shape of Lamborghini models, the Huracán EVO Fluo adopts a striking exterior bicolor scheme that animates the car’s dynamism and underscores its presence on the road. Five exterior and interior configurations in Verde Shock (green), Arancio Livrea (orange), Celeste Fedra (blue), Arancio Dac (orange) and Giallo Clarus (yellow) combine with a matt black roof, front bumper and side skirts.

Details of the matt black components are picked out in the new fluo colors, such as a colored line on the black wing mirrors and vertical colored lines on the rear splitter, lending the car a sporty yet glamorous personality.

In the full-black interior, new sports seats are optional alternatives to the standard comfort seats, in Alcantara or leather unicolor with an EVO sportivo trim. The Start & Stop button cover and the Lamborghini shield embroidered on the headrest are finished in one of the five new fluorescent colors matching the exterior tones. The result is a highly technical interplay of contrasts, unlocking the expression of those who dare to be different in a young and stylish piece of street art.

Renowned Ravensburger created this 3D jigsaw puzzle in collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini SpA to allow people to build their own replica of an Arancio Xanto Huracan EVO on Aesir wheels by putting together the puzzle pieces in a pre-determined order.

Keep in mind it’s the body of the Huracan EVO that is made up of puzzle pieces, the chassis is a plastic part, the wheels, complete with brake disks and calipers are plastic parts too, as are the Y insets in the front bumper, the lower rear diffuser, and the rear-view mirrors, also note that some of the 3D puzzle pieces will need to be bent by yourself, which is tricky sometimes.

So you put together the chassis, with the wheels, brakes, spoiler, and diffuser and then start building the body from the 3D pieces … it doesn’t take hours to complete, but it is fun nonetheless, I had a great time building it … but then you have to mount the body with all the 3D pieces interlocked together onto the chassis … and here things can go wrong very quickly.

It took me three attempts to get the body onto the chassis correctly, without having to take the body off again to align the 3d pieces again … it takes a little time and finesse, but in the end, you get a rather nice model of the Huracan EVO, I even put it next to my 1/18 scale AUTOart made Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 scale model for a comparison.

This is a rather modest kit from Novitec, nothing like the massive N-Largo version with the wider wheel arches, or the Novara that featured the higher mounted exhaust long before Lamborghini released their Performante, but it’s safe to say this isn’t the first attempt at changing the looks of the Lamborghini Huracán by Novitec, it’s just a continuation of what they are used to do.

At the front Novitec offers a total of three parts to add to the new EVO style bumper, a central fin mounted horizontally, a pair of extra fins to fit vertically onto the air intakes, and a clear carbon fiber cover that slides over the new Y shaped inset of the EVO’s front bumper … naturally, all parts from Novitec are finished in clear carbon fiber, but can be painted of the customer prefers this.

The front luggage compartment cover can be replaced by a Novitec part the has built-in air ducts that actually mimic the ‘lines’ on the roof of the Huracán, over a pair of covers to put over the top part of the rear-view mirrors we come to the new side sills from Novitec, these actually don’t feature that horizontal fin like the factory original ones, carbon fiber intakes to be fitted behind the side windows complete the look.

For the engine cover, you have two options from Novitec in case of the coupe model, if you have the factory fitted glass panel engine cover you can add a pair of air intakes on the cover, but if you really want to impress you can replace the entire unit with the massive N-Largo engine cover that comes complete with an air intake, this latter cover does require an extra cover for the EVO … note that neither of these will fit on the EVO Spyder version.

To complete the aerodynamic parts from Novitec for the Huracán EVO we can replace the factory original diffuser (available in black, gloss black or body color) with the clear carbon fiber Novitec part, but probably the most impressive item for the rear is that stunning rear wing, I really love the ‘hanging’ style of the struts on this piece.

Wheels are a very personal thing to add to a car, just to offer a choice Novitec has two designs available, either the NL1 Forged one which is a multi-piece version of the double five-spoke design, and uses the original bolt-on method. But if you really want to go all the way you can opt for the NL4 Forged wheel made by Vossen with a central-locking bolt … just note that if you didn’t order the Huracán EVO with the optional Loge Forged wheel from the factory, you’ll have to get the Novitec Central Locking Kit to be able to fit the NL4 units.

All Novitec wheels come in 9×20 on the front axle and 12.5×21 on the rear axle, fitted with Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires in 245/60ZR20 and 325/25ZR21 respectively, you can even add 11mm spacers behind each wheel to increase the original track by 22mm on each axle, and just in case you really want to scrape that expensive front bumper, a 35mm lowering setup is available from Novitec in the form of a Sport Spring set … note it’s a different kit for cars with the Magneto dampers and cars without the Magneto option from the factory.

And while the factory V10 in the Huracán already offers a very nice sound, you can always make it louder with the Novitec exhaust system, available in either stainless steel or the much lighter INCONEL, the latter comes with gold-high-temperature heat protection by the way, and in this case, you just have to add the carbon fiber exhaust tips from Novitec too to complete the CF look on the outside.

Driving fun in the open air

The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder is specially engineered as an instinctive driver’s car, still producing top  performance  figures  but  focused  on  the  pilot’s  skills  and  the  set-up  of  the  rear-wheel  drivepowertrain, providing unfiltered physical feedback and maximum engagement. The specially tuned P-TCS traction control system is designed for adrenalin-producing performance in all conditions, consistently delivering torque and assuring traction even as the Spyder is realigning after sharp cornering or drifting. Especially with the roof down, the driver’s senses are further aroused by the sound of the V10 aspirated engine responding to the throttle during maneuvers.

The Huracán EVO Spyder’s ANIMA button on the steering wheel puts the pilot in control of driving modes, with the P-TCS calibrated to suit. STRADA provides stability and safety in all conditions by minimizing rear-wheel slippage, and more proactively managing torque delivery on low-adhesion surfaces. The Spyder’s soft-top roof stows within 17 seconds under the rear hood, even while driving up to a speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). Back in January I already made a virtual render of how the EVO version of the RWD Spyder would look, it wasn’t that difficult as we all know how the conversion from coupe to spyder took place on the original Huracán LP610-1, the first RWD or LP580-2 and more recently the Huracán EVO and it seems I was right the EVO RWD Spyder looks exactly as I imagined five months ago.

Highlights of Lamborghini Huracán EVO RWD Spyder

The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder comes with the same modified front and rear section when compared to the all-wheel-drive Huracán EVO, and also a power decrease to 610 hp compared to 640 hp on the EVO. Also note the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder comes standard with ventilated, cross-drilled steel brakes behind 19-inch Kari wheels, carbon-ceramic disk brakes, and 20-inch wheels are optionally available.

The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder still uses a soft top when the competition has turned to panels, but a folding soft top does remind us of the real spyder models from the past, and when closed the experience is very close to the coupe anyway. In a mere 17 seconds, the roof can be lowered or raised, even when driving up to 50 km/h (31 Mph) the top is available in a range of different shades by the way.

Naturally, the large, 8.4 inch HMI touchscreen is still present on the central console inside the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder, the epicenter for the multimedia system today controlling telephone, internet access, Apple Car Play, a way to change settings and naturally a complete navigation system.

In case the long list of regular options available on the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder isn’t enough to satisfy the customer, the Ad Personam team will be more than happy to increase the base price of this car to unseen heights.

Performance

At the rear, we also notice a new lower diffuser which looks aggressive, but most intimidating is that massive rear wing, complete with a center strut to mimic the one holding the air intake on the Aventador SVJ, this Vorsteiner rear wing will completely replace the current wing of the EVO behind the engine cover.

All of the parts under development by Vorsteiner for the Huracan EVO will be bolt-on pieces using the original OEM fittings, which makes mounting and removing this aero package easier … just in case you decide to sell the car in the future, it can be returned to factory specs because no cutting or drilling is involved in fitting a Vorsteiner kit.

Remember the vented front fenders from Vorsteiner for the Huracan? While not seen on any of these renders, they can be fitted on the Huracan EVO too, just in case you really like them … and the front angle render shows a stunning, vented front hood, a design taken from the official factory race version of the Huracan, it looks stunning and comes in a full carbon fiber finish.

No pricing or timing has been published yet, but this new Huracan EVO package from Vorsteiner looks really good, so get your order in now to be one of the first to have a special EVO on the road.

I don’t think the styling of the EVO RWD Spyder will be a surprise, we’ve seen the EVO and the EVO Spyder being unveiled very close to each other, so most likely the EVO RWD Spyder will be available very soon too, with deliveries starting in the Summer of 2020, still with the well-known canvas folding roof.

I don’t think we’ll be seeing a convertible hardtop version of the Huracán anymore, this is probably reserved for the successor to the Huracán when it arrives, or Lamborghini sticks to the canvas roof, this is also a possibility.

After the Huracán EVO RWD and a possible EVO RWD Spyder I’m sure we will still get a more powerful EVO Performante edition before any news about a successor gets published, and let’s not forget the rumor about the Huracán STO, the Super Trofeo Omologato, the street-legal derivative of the Super Trofeo racecar, just like the Gallardo STS back in the days.

Lamborghini has since dropped the entire LP designation on both the Aventador and the Huracán, and today we have the Aventador S and SVJ, and the Huracán EVO (the Performante is no longer in production), and now they’ve added the Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive or RWD, and while the EVO comes with 640 hp, this new EVO RWD has been detuned to 610 hp, just like on the previous model that came with 610 hp and 580 hp respectively.

Back in 2015, the Huracán LP580-2 was introduced with the new Kari wheels in 19 inch, these have been made available on the EVO RWD too, but Lamborghini also introduced the 19-inch Vanir rims now, available in either silver or black if you want to go bigger you can opt for the 20 inch Aesir rims or the cross-spoke Narvi Forged wheels in 20 inch. These wheels cover steel disk brakes that are standard fitment, the carbon-ceramic brakes are available as an option, however.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the motorsport department of Automobili Lamborghini, is unveiling the new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO, making its world debut at an exclusive event in Sant’Agata Bolognese and announces its new partnership with the famous Swiss luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis.

Following the debut of the Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo three years ago, the racing car has now been extensively redeveloped.

The new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO raises the already high standards of the previous model with entirely redesigned aerodynamics, new devices to improve safety, and several improvements to its mechanics and electronics. The developments combine to offer drivers and teams an efficient and highly professional race car, which makes its track debut at the three continental series in Europe, Asia and North America from spring 2018.

The car will not only participate in the one-make Lamborghini Super Trofeo series, but it may also compete in international Gran Turismo championships in the GT Cup category, and Endurance races, providing more versatility for teams and drivers.

The livery of the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO is designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, and focuses on the car’s new shapes. The Titan Grey base color celebrates the partnership linking Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Roger Dubuis, which will begin from 2018.

The two brands share the same values, such as the ongoing pursuit of excellence, the search for innovative materials, and obsessive attention to detail during the production of their precision instruments: namely Roger Dubuis watches and Lamborghini cars.

Huracán Super Trofeo EVO: setting standards in single brand series

The first version of the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo unveiled at California’s Monterey Car Week in August 2014 rewrote the rules of single marque series. With over 150 cars sold since its debut and an average annual attendance of 90 cars competing in the four continental championships (Europe, Asia, North America and Middle East), the Huracán Super Trofeo quickly became one of the models setting standards in one-make series.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse has developed a profound evolution of the car, it has been extensively reworked, underscoring the particular features that contribute to the model’s success: the performance and thrill of a GT3 but with considerably lower running costs.

“Sophisticated aerodynamics and ultralight materials: the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO has been developed based on the two main pillars of the brand’s technology,” explains Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technology Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. “Like the road version of the Huracán Performante, where use of composites and the drive to achieve maximum aerodynamic efficiency are the basis of levels of uncompromised performance, the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO also focuses on these elements, continuing as a category benchmark.”

The new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO has been developed following the same philosophy, but raising the bar considerably as far as its features are concerned. This is thanks to its new body kit developed by the team of motorsport engineers at Automobili Lamborghini, working in partnership with Dallara Engineering and Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Their aim was to maintain the same high downforce of the previous model, while achieving higher overall aerodynamic efficiency and so less resistance to forward travel with improved stability.

Aerodynamics

The body kit of the new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO is made from carbon fiber, with all its parts completely redesigned. Only the flat floor, the front splitter, and the rear diffuser have not been altered, reflecting the intention to maintain the same downforce and avoid any increase in running costs for customer teams.

“Our customers are the main reason we continue in our pursuit of excellence and ongoing improvement,” comments Giorgio Sanna, Head of Motorsport at Automobili Lamborghini, “and this is why we kept the practical demands of the team and of the drivers in mind when we were designing the new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO. As it is a single-brand series, there are no regulatory demands that mean a successful model has to be altered. But with the EVO we wanted to give our customers an even more thrilling experience at the wheel, with superior performance and improved safety.”

One of the more obvious changes in the body kit of the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO is the rear fin on the rear hood and the upper air intake.

The side fin on the rear hood is the same solution employed by class LMP1 prototypes for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, by the single-seat Formula One racing cars, and used on a Gran Turismo race car by Lamborghini Squadra Corse for the first time, giving increased stability. Lamborghini’s official development drivers, in ongoing testing of the new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO since last spring, felt a considerable increase in rear stability when taking fast bends along with a reduction in oversteering, resulting in better driving stability and faster cornering.

The airscoop on the roof has two functions: the first is to create dynamic supercharging for the 5.2 liter, 620 hp naturally aspirated V10 engine, generating 3% more torque at maximum speed (280 km/h limited electronically).

The second purpose is to create a general improvement in aspiration: lowering the temperature of the air and, as a consequence, increasing engine torque at all engine speeds, unlike its predecessor, which featured air vents on the sides.

The elimination of the air intakes on the sides has also made it possible to completely redesign the rear of the vehicle, making it more aggressive but most of all more aerodynamically efficient. The upper section of the rear sides is flatter and sharper with a design that has created two channels, which considerably increase the air flow on the rear.

The bottom rocker cover fin on the sides has also become larger than before in order to improve the flow of air towards the radiators and improve cooling.

At the front, the new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO has a totally new bumper. The lower air intakes are larger, as are the aerodynamic side spoilers (flics), with a larger surface area giving greater aerodynamic load on the front. This also generates an improvement in the overall aerodynamics with a 3% shift in balance towards the front, improving the vehicle’s stability and making it possible to enter bends faster and more precisely.

The front fenders have a flatter and sharper design with new slits in their upper section with a negative louvre, reducing resistance to forward motion. At the center of the front hood, there is a new, hexagonal air intake: its purpose is to lead air inside the vehicle’s interior and lower the ambient temperature to guarantee improved ventilation for the driver.

The rear of the new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO also has new features, once again designed with the aim of increasing its aerodynamic efficiency and stability. The rear fenders have a flat, elongated surface towards the rear: their aerodynamic function guarantees a steady and constant disconnection of the air flow from the rear regardless of whether the car is on a bend or a straight section of road, once again resulting in more stability.

The rear spoiler, located immediately underneath the large adjustable wing, has a larger and flatter surface compared to the previous model. This has made it possible to work on the aerodynamic efficiency, recovering more pressure while improving the resistance to forward motion. Lower down, the engine ventilation compartments are considerably bigger than before, improving ventilation of the engine, whereas the new flics improve the flow of air exiting the rear wheels.

The adjustable rear wing sits on new pillars made as before of aluminum, that are larger than previously. However, their weight has not increased. The side tips of the rear wing, the handplates, are also new: the new, larger design contains the impact of air on the wing and increase efficiency.

The new body kit of the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO has generated a considerable increase in the overall aerodynamic efficiency – 8% less resistance to forward motion – and this can be translated as a clear improvement in track performance. The new model was first tested on the Monza track and recorded a 1.5 seconds better time compared to the previous version: 1’46″3 compared to 1’47″8.

Improved safety thanks to the roof hatch

The improvements made to the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo are not limited to its aerodynamics but also include safety features: one of the main priorities for Lamborghini Squadra Corse during the development of its competition vehicles.

As well as improvements in the vehicle’s driving stability, the roof hatch is also a new element. The hatch had already been introduced on the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in order to comply with regulations and it has now been fitted on the Super Trofeo EVO in order to increase driver safety.

Further technological specifications

The new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO has a new exhaust system in response to the specifications of Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The system includes a new location for the catalytic converters, now between the terminals and the manifolds. This guarantees improved operating efficiency for team engineers and a general lowering of temperatures, thanks to the cooler and more efficient catalytic converters.

The power steering pump has also been altered with higher levels of servo assistance resulting in better feedback for the drivers. Additional optimizations of the software complete the many modifications to the car.

Like the previous model, the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO has an evolved naturally aspirated 5.2 V10 engine derived from the on-road Huracán with power increased up to 620 hp. It has rear wheel drive and X-Track six-gear sequential shift.

The electronics include ABS by Bosch Motorsport and Traction Control by Motec, both with ten-position settings adjusted via controls on the steering wheel.

The list price of the new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO is 235,000 Euros (plus tax) in Europe and Asia, and 295,000 USD in America.

The car will make its official track debut in the spring of 2018 in three continental series of Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Europe, Asia and North America, where all cars lined up will have the EVO configuration.

The teams that have the current version of Huracán Super Trofeo, will have the opportunity to purchase the aerodynamic body kit to upgrade the car to new specifications.

After more than 150 cars built since the original Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo was introduced three years ago, this new EVO version will compete in Europe, the US, and Asia in the 2018 Super Trofeo series but also in GT Cup races and Endurance series.

The obvious difference between the original Super Trofeo from 2014 and this 2018 EVO is the completely new aerodynamic design with that large air intake above the roof that pulls in the air onto the 620hp V10 with an electronically limited top speed of 280 Km/h the vertical fin on the engine cover similar to those used in LM racing, increases stability at high speed.

Also note there are no air intakes on the sides anymore, which made a total redesign of the rear section possible also note the small vertical fins above the rear wheels by the way, the massive rear wing is totally adjustable and received larger side fins.

All in all, the new aerodynamics have increased the performance of this new model during testing on the Monza race track this 2018 model beat the time of the original Super Trofeo by no less than 1.5 seconds (1’46″3 against 1’47″8).

The engine is still based on the actual road-going model, the 5.2 liter V10 unit with a power increase to 620hp, rear-wheel drive, and an X-Track six-speed sequential gearbox.

Design and Aerodynamics:

In designing the Huracán EVO, Lamborghini added a host of new features to the most successful sports car model in its history. NOVITEC offers an exclusive refinement range for owners of the mid-engine sports car who want to make their vehicle even sportier and more individual.
This includes naked-carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components, which were fine-tuned in the wind tunnel. There also are hi-tech forged wheels in a staggered combination with diameters of 20 and 21 inches on the front and rear axle, which were developed for the new EVO in cooperation with American wheel manufacturer Vossen.
NOVITEC sport springs give the car even more dynamic handling.
NOVITEC RACE high-performance exhaust systems can further optimize the engine performance and give the two-seater an even sportier exhaust note.
Exclusive interior refinement is part of the broad range of options available from NOVITEC for the Lamborghini Huracán EVO as well.

The NOVITEC designers developed an aerodynamic-enhancement kit that combines spectacular looks and aerodynamic efficiency in an optimal way and accomplishes their goal of adding even more visual thrills to the wedge-shaped design of the sports car from Sant’Agata Bolognese. This also included wind tunnel testing in order to produce even more downforce and optimize the handling stability as a result.

The precise-fit NOVITEC components are manufactured with a naked-carbon finish to give the Huracán EVO full-blooded racing looks. However, the bodywork components can of course also be painted in vehicle or contrasting color.

NOVITEC offers three options for making the face of the two-seater even more distinctive. They can be installed separately or as a complete set: The central front blade and the two-piece spoiler extensions at the left and right enhance the appearance of the EVO and what is more, they optimize the aerodynamics as well. Tailor-made end plates at the left and right of the front fascia direct the air even more effectively to the side air intakes.

The NOVITEC trunk lid is yet another visual treat. It can be painted or for even sportier looks come with a naked-carbon finish. Its slits on the left and right above the bumper route the airflow through integrated ducts to the outlets in front of the windshield generating additional aerodynamic downforce.

NOVITEC also revises the side view thoroughly. This includes the rocker panels, which give the two-seater an even lower visual stance, the carbon mirror covers, and the air intakes at the rear side windows, which were extended towards the front and optimize the supply of fresh air to the engine bay.

The NOVITEC rear wing visually dominates the rear end of the Huracán EVO. The carbon spoiler produces additional downforce at high speeds, which further improves the handling stability. The NOVITEC rear diffuser is yet another important element of the aerodynamics concept.

The air scoop on the NOVITEC hood reaches roof height and not only results in full-blooded racing looks, but also optimizes the temperatures in the engine bay. A naked-carbon end plate for the rear edge of the hood is additionally available.

Of course, the thrilling NOVITEC design package for the Lamborghini Huracán EVO also includes tailor-made hi-tech wheels produced exclusively for NOVITEC by US manufacturer Vossen. Three different variants are available, which all share two common traits: high-end forging technology and a combination of 20-inch front wheels and rear wheels with a diameter of 21 inches. This puts even more emphasis on the wedge-shaped design of the sports car.

The enclosed photos show the sports car with NOVITEC NL4 forged rims, which are available with a five-lug pattern and in a center lock design, which the factory offers as an option for the Huracán EVO models. Their design featuring six delicate spokes tapering off towards the outer edge of the rim in the shape of a widely spread Y make these wheels seem even larger than they already are in reality. The wide range of colors these hi-tech rims are available in offers customers yet more options.

At the front, all three variants come in size 9Jx20 with 245/30 ZR 20 Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires. The rear axle runs on tires of size 325/25 ZR 21 mounted on size 12.5Jx21 rims.

Alternatively, NOVITEC also offers three-piece NOVITEC NL1 alloys with five delicate twin-spokes for the Huracán EVO, which are likewise produced using a forging process.

The NOVITEC sport springs, which lower the ride height of the two-seater by about 35 millimeters, are calibrated specifically to the NOVITEC wheel/tire combination. The lower center of gravity also contributes to even more uncompromising handling.

A NOVITEC RACE high-performance exhaust system lets the ten-cylinder engine breathe even more freely. Two different variants are available to choose from: stainless steel with high-temperature thermal insulation or the version made from the even lighter material INCONEL used in Formula 1 racing. The latter has an additional golden layer of thermal insulation, which also is out of the ordinary in terms of appearance. The NOVITEC tail pipes in a combination of carbon and stainless steel enhance the looks of these two exhaust systems and can also be adapted to the production exhaust.

Of course, NOVITEC also fulfills any customer request with regard to the interior design, regardless of how special it might be. To this end, masters of their craft work with the finest leather and Alcantara in any desired color.
