We are all still eagerly awaiting a new Lamborghini model to succeed the V10 Gallardo series, all we know it will be more like a revolution instead of an evolution if we read the interviews with Stephan Winkelmann, CEO and Director of Automobili Lamborghini SpA … will it look anything like a street legal version of the Sesto Elemento?
Or will it take some design hints from this angular styled Ganador concept created by Amini Yekta during the first semester of the Masters Program back in 2011 when this project was created working together with Lamborghini at SPD or the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan …where Yekta graduated from in late 2012.
From time to time Automobili Lamborghini SpA works together with design schools where students are given the task to design and create a concept for the Sant’Agata super car builder, during the 2011-2012 academic year SPD in Milan was selected to have their graduates put together a proposal for a new Raging Bull … Amini Yekta was one of them and he created the Lamborghini Ganador Concept seen here.
If you take a close look at the Lamborghini Ganador concept you will notice the clean division between the upper and the lower section of the car … there is a clear line running from the front of the car over the doors straight onto the rear that emphasizes the well-known wedge design seen in many Lamborghini models.
From the side this sloping line creates a visual stance that is very impressive, clearly pointing down at the front, also note the angle of the side windows is ‘mirrored’ onto the air intake in front of the rear wheels, a bit like the Lancia Stratos concept from Bertone in the Seventies … while the wheels themselves look very similar to the ones used by Lamborghini in the Aventador.
Closer inspection of the engine cover reveals a resemblance with the amazing looking carbon fiber and glass combination used on the Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce limited edition model, the lines are very close, however the Ganador does not show any clear carbon fiber here while the windshield keeps going into the roof … and even touching the engine cover, still a brace at the front of the roof section keeps it all strongly together.
The Lamborghini Ganador does not show any exterior rear view mirrors, so more than likely we’ll be getting rear view cameras with a display somewhere in the amazing looking interior. The central console does not show a multitude of buttons, so probably there are ‘sensor buttons’ on touch panels used … anyway the overall design is very clean and purposeful … really nice.
At the rear a single, albeit large central mounted exhaust is used, and for once the typical Y-shape taillights are modified into something very innovative, the third brake light is a wide, narrow strip of red LED running all the way from the left to the right taillights, while these lights themselves are perfectly integrated into the overall design of the rear that shows diagonal lines running from the lights down … remember the new Gallardo LP560-4 design?
If we will ever see something like this Lamborghini Ganador in real life is highly unlikely, but it doesn’t look too far-fetched if you ask me, the overall design is keeping an aggressive look in line with clean and simple lines … while brining Lamborghini styling elements together with a touch of luxury while still keeping the sport car exotic look.
