Yesterday a new campaign was started by Automobili Lamborghini SpA … the Hexagon Project, complete with a brand new online presence that allows you to actually hear the roar of the new creature from Lamborghini.

You can even leave your email address after listening to what sounds like a slightly different V10 from the Gallardo … the sound isn’t the typical V12 thunder but it isn’t the same as the current V10 engine either, so you might suspect it will be the ‘music’ from the Gallardo successor … but is it?

Sure they are talking about a ‘new creature’ … so that would hint in the direction of the brand new Lamborghini model to be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Salon in 2014 and that has been rendered a lot over the last few weeks after being photographed wearing little to no camouflage in Austria … but what if they are talking about the production version of the Sesto Elemento?

Remember Lamborghini builds 20 units of the Sesto Elemento for customers, and this car uses an engine taken from the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera … with a different exhaust system it might just sound like the roar we can hear on the Hexagon Project website.

We also know production of the Urus was confirmed, sure it will be not exactly the concept shown earlier because a lot of modifications will be made before it reaches the open road by 2017 when it will share the chassis with the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg … but despite being asked several times Stephan Winkelmann, CEO and Director of Automobili Lamborghini SpA wouldn’t give any specific details … we do know it will most likely be powered by a V8 engine instead of a V10, so the sound on the Hexagon Project site wouldn’t come from this new SUV.

Naturally many people left their email address on the Hexagon Project website, they all received a response stating they would be one of the first in the world to find out everything about the new creature from Sant’Agata Bolognese … so I’m expecting some additional teasers in the weeks to come … in fact the first details would be available to the official dealer network towards the end of December 2013, actual photos of the V10 successor are meant to be shown to customers who put in their order in January 2014 while the general public will be able to admire the new ‘Baby Lamborghini’ at the March 2014 Geneva Auto Salon.

I for one can’t wait for the next mail from ‘Lamborghini Hexagon Project’ to arrive in my mailbox …
