Aventador Carbonado Apertos by Mansory

Aventador carbonado apertos by mansory - car

Mansory was the first to unveil a complete tuning package for the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 in the form of a totally modified, metallic red finished Mansory Aventador presented at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show a shade similar to the one Lamborghini applied themselves on their very limited edition Aventador J shown at the same show.

Only months later Mansory presented their Black Diamond Carbonado evolution, a similar body kit as the metallic red car in Geneva but this time the entire Aventador was finished in clear carbon fiber and power output was boosted to 745 hp (from the original 700 hp) however this one would only be built six times and on special order only.

Up comes the 2013 edition of the Geneva Auto Show and Mansory takes their Aventador tuning up another notch how does 1250hp sound to you? Not bad I guess and while Mansory could have stayed with their existing aerodynamic package they still opted to do a serious redesign front, side, rear and interior all got modifications and they now look even better.

The Mansory Carbonado LP1250 is stupendously beautiful in her matte coated clear carbon fiber dress and this isn’t your average run of the mill carbon fiber, Mansory actually has its own autoclave to produce custom weave carbon fiber and their Carbonado sure has a custom pattern it actually looks like a B2 bomber jet very different, and very nice at the same time.

At the 2013 Geneva Auto Show I learned only six of these Carbonado LP1250 would be built, each priced at €900,000 six months later at the IAA in Frankfurt I notice a glossy clear carbon fiber Carbonado LP1250 on their stand production number 6 of 6, so it didn’t take Mansory too long to sell them all.

But the beauty that really got me excited was the first completely customized Aventador Roadster once again Mansory beat the competition by a Mile, although it must be said DMC took the honors with their matte blue Aventador Roadster Molto Veloce a few weeks earlier but the DMC LP900 Molto Veloce is a bolt-on kit consisting of a front spoiler lip, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear wing beautiful as it is, this Mansory Roadster creation caters to a different kind of customer.

Take a look at the Mansory Carbonado Apertos (what’s in a name right?) not a single body panel has been retained from the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster that is used as a basis everything on the outside has been replaced by custom made carbon fiber parts by Mansory, a deeper front bumper with B2 bomber style DRL (daylight running lights) to resemble the amazing B2 bomber weave Mansory used for the actual carbon fiber itself.

Large air intakes up front, a very low bumper with vertical fins on the side, 40mm wider front fenders, massive side skirts and a stunning ‘crease’ on the doors lead to rear fenders that gain 50mm in with only to climax at the rear into an absolutely awesome looking diffuser and rear section that incorporates the fins that go up onto the rear wing forming the struts it rests on. We also note the glass fins on the engine cover are gone replaced by clear carbon fiber, as is the entire glossy black section that holds the roof panels of the Roadster on the regular Aventador, on the Apertos everything is covered in the same custom carbon fiber weave.

And then I notice something really special Mansory doesn’t even mention this in their press release, but the Carbonado Apertos shows two additional air intakes mounted on the engine cover, just behind the seats there are two triangular intakes feeding air into the engine compartment is this a forced induction system or just a way of cooling the engine even more? I honestly don’t know it could mean the highly tuned engine needs extra air to cool down, remember Mansory is pulling 1250 hp from the 6.5 Liter V12 unit by using motorsport spec units for the pistons, connection rods, bearings, crankshaft, cranks and cylinder head add a Mansory developed pair of turbochargers and a completely custom made exhaust system from the manifolds right up to the stainless steel exhaust pipes and the result is truly mindboggling.

Performance peaks at 1,250 hp (920 kW), while torque had to be electronically limited to 900 Nm, reaching 100Km/h from standstill is handled in a mere 2.6 seconds top speed, is an impressive 380Km/h in the Mansory Carbonado Apertos I do suggest having the roof panels in place if you intend to try your hand at a top speed run I do think turbulence could be rather hefty at nearly 400Km/h without a roof above your head.

If you think the exterior looks good and the engine performance is impressive get ready for the interior when the Aventador leaves the factory doors in Sant’Agata it already isn’t too bad looking, especially if you opt for a few Ad Personam options inside, the Q-Citura stitching used on the Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversary is very beautiful but the Mansory interior is on a totally different level.

Naturally lots of parts inside the Mansory Carbonado Apertos are finished in a similar matte carbon fiber as the exterior of the car, but then you notice the intricate stitching and attention to detail Mansory puts into these limited edition hyper cars, this specific Apertos combines black and yellow leather, but that’s only the top of the iceberg here.

The stitching pattern is what really sets this car apart from the competition most parts of the interior show a B2 bomber style weave stitching, even the inside of the roof panels are covered in this beautiful pattern while the buttons on the central console are painted yellow and their surrounds glossy black if you look at the stitching on the seats or on the side of the central console you’ll notice there isn’t a single stitch missing or skewed it is this type of details and perfect finish that really makes you admire the Mansory Carbonado cars, and what actually warrants their high price.

Do note that you’ll not find a single Raging Bull logo or Lamborghini script anywhere on these limited editions, they are no longer called Lamborghini Aventador their official name is Mansory Carbonado Apertos and only three will be built each available for €1,200,000 without taxes.

If I take a look at the evolution of the Mansory Aventador from March 2012 to September 2013 I can only guess what they will show at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show how on earth can they top the Carbonado LP1250 even if you don’t like the styling of these hyper car you have to admit the workmanship is at such a level it will be extremely hard to improve it even further but if anyone could do it I’m sure Mansory will.
