Automobili Lamborghini SpA recently entered their Urus Super SUV into the annual Days of Speed event on the ice of Lake Baikal, organized by LAV-racing Company between 10 and 13 March, Days of Speed is an official FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) and RAF (Russian Automobile Federation) regulated event created to set speed records … on ice.
Despite the inherent issues of driving on ice, and the added challenge of strong wind gusts on the icy flats, the impressive Lamborghini Urus managed to set a record speed of 298 km/h during the 1,000-meter record challenge … during which the Super SUV managed an average speed of 114 km/h.
Thanks to the 4.0-Liter twin-turbo V8 engine pumping out 650 hp, the Lamborghini Urus even went up to 302 km/h on the ice during test runs, which is very close to its top speed of 305 km/h … a testament to how balanced this amazing SUV is made.
