In 2018 they managed to deliver 5,750 cars to customers … for the 2019 fiscal year, they raised that number by no less than 43% … up to 8,205 units, almost 5,000 of those are accounted to the Urus mind you.

If you take a look at the sales figures for 2017 you’ll notice they went from 3,815 to more than double that number in only two years, and while both the V10 and the V12 models are still selling strong, this impressive number is mostly due to the Urus that sold no less than 4,962 units in 2019 … against 2,139 Huracán and 1,104 Aventador.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="wp-image-7497 size-full" src="https://www.
At this time Automobili Lamborghini SpA has 165 official dealers in 51 countries all over the world, the Asia Pacific region has grown the most in 2019 with 2,162 Lamborghini delivered (+66%) while America raised sales by 45% to 2,837 units and the EMEA region managed a 28% increase to 3,206 units in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Without a doubt, the United States of America is still the single largest market with 2,374 Lamborghini sold, but the UK also received 658 cars while Germany took 562 of Sant’Agata finest in 2019.

Automobili Lamborghini SpA is looking forward in 2020, they will continue to develop hybrid models for the next-generation of exotics to be built at Sant’Agata, in 2019 they introduced the Huracan EVO both in Coupe and Spyder version while they Aventador SVJ Roadster was also shown to the public at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show … but then the Huracan Sterrato was shown as a concept while in August they unveiled the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster at Monterey Car Week in the USA but probably the most eagerly awaited model was the Sian FKP 37 unveiled at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show … the very first hybrid Lamborghini production model, albeit limited to only 63 units.

<img decoding="async" class="wp-image-7498 size-full" src="https://www. Lambocars. Com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/2019_record_year_5. Jpg" alt="https://www. Lambocars. Com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/2019_record_year_5.
But now Lamborghini has decided to unveil their new cars at private, invitation-only events for customers and media, the first result of this decision will be the absence of Lamborghini at the most important show in Europe … Lamborghini will not be present at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show!

So if Lamborghini will release a hybrid version of the Urus, or the Roadster version of the Sian … we’ll not be able to admire and photograph it in Geneva in March … most of the public will never see these cars now. And what about the Aventador successor and Huracan replacement then … all of these will probably be unveiled to a select group of VIP only, and no longer to the general public that has been going to these motor shows … thousands and thousands of people will no longer be able to admire the new Lamborghini cars in Geneva it seems.

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder epitomizes the marriage of cutting-edge technology, stunning design, and thrilling performance. As a convertible variant of the already-iconic Huracán EVO, the Spyder offers an unparalleled open-top driving experience that will leave even the most seasoned automotive enthusiasts in awe. In this article, we delve into the intricate details of this exceptional supercar, examining its performance, engine, drivetrain, design, and price.

Acting as the midlife facelift for the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder, the EVO Spyder is here as the ultimate drop-top version of Lamborghini’s V10-engined sports car. An enhanced and facelifted variant that showcases Lamborghini’s commitment to innovation, it promises a driving experience like no other.

Performance and Downforce

The Huracán EVO Spyder does not merely rely on its looks. Like the Huracán EVO Coupe, the Spyder produces far more downforce than the regular Huracán Spyder, thanks to enhancements like a new front splitter and rear ducktail spoiler. The aerodynamics have been tuned to perfection, allowing for maximum control and speed on the road.

Rear-Wheel Steering and Power

Adding to its agility, the EVO Spyder AWD version comes with standard rear-wheel steering, allowing for sharper turns and responsive handling. More power than the Huracán Spyder LP 610-4 makes for an even more intense performer, a machine that defies limitations and takes driving passion to new heights.

Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI) System

Another standout feature of the EVO Spyder AWD is the adoption of the EVO Coupe’s Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI) system. This system includes a set of accelerators and gyroscope sensors that instantaneously adapt the car’s damping based on the information received from LPI. Whether navigating tight corners or accelerating on the straightaway, the LPI system ensures a ride that is both smooth and exhilarating.

Design

The design of the Huracán EVO Spyder is a feast for the eyes, maintaining Lamborghini’s iconic aesthetics while incorporating modern refinements. Its sleek lines, aggressive stance, and the unmistakable roar of its engine make it a true masterpiece of Italian automotive craftsmanship.

Interior Design

Lamborghini’s commitment to design excellence is evident in the Huracán EVO Spyder’s interior and exterior. The car’s aggressive, angular lines are unmistakably Lamborghini, and the convertible roof adds an extra dimension of allure. Constructed from lightweight materials, the soft top can be opened or closed in just 17 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph.

Inside the cabin, the Huracán EVO Spyder’s occupants are treated to a luxurious blend of Alcantara and leather, with an array of customizable options available. The car’s infotainment system features an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, providing access to various functions such as navigation, media, and climate control. The inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensures seamless connectivity, while the optional Lamborghini Sensonum sound system delivers a premium audio experience.

Engine & Drivetrain

At the heart of the Huracán EVO Spyder lies a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine, which produces an impressive 640 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, ensuring smooth and rapid gear changes. The inclusion of a rear-wheel steering system further enhances the car’s handling, providing an unprecedented level of maneuverability.

Additionally, the EVO Spyder employs an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, known as Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI), which actively manages torque distribution between the front and rear axles. This allows for improved traction and stability, particularly during cornering and hard acceleration.

Performance

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder excels in terms of performance, boasting a 0-60 mph time of just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph. These impressive figures can be attributed to the car’s lightweight chassis and advanced aerodynamics, which optimize both acceleration and handling.

Equipped with the state-of-the-art Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) system, the Huracán EVO Spyder offers unparalleled agility and responsiveness. This advanced system continually adjusts the car’s suspension, brakes, and torque vectoring to ensure optimal performance on the road, even in the most challenging driving conditions.

MPG & Fuel Economy

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder’s fuel economy figures, while not its most attractive feature, are still worth noting considering the immense power and performance on offer. The EPA estimated fuel economy for the Huracán EVO Spyder is 13 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city, 18 mpg on the highway, and a combined rating of 15 mpg. It’s important to note that these numbers may vary based on driving conditions and individual driving habits.

Although the Huracán EVO Spyder’s fuel economy is not particularly impressive when compared to more fuel-efficient vehicles, it’s essential to remember that this convertible supercar is designed to prioritize performance and thrilling driving experiences. As such, potential buyers should consider the fuel economy figures as part of the overall package, understanding that the exceptional performance comes with the trade-off of higher fuel consumption.

Price

As one might expect from a vehicle of this caliber, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder comes with a substantial price tag. The base price is set at around $287,400, with additional options and customizations pushing the cost even higher. Despite this, the EVO Spyder represents a unique combination of performance, style, and exclusivity, making it an attractive proposition for those with the means to acquire it.

Conclusion

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder is a remarkable feat of automotive engineering, offering a thrilling open-top driving experience without compromising on performance or luxury. With its striking design, advanced technology, and exhilarating performance, the EVO Spyder stands as a testament to Lamborghini’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what a supercar can be. For those seeking the ultimate blend of power, style, and open-air exhilaration, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder is truly in a league of its own.

I can attest to the fact that the Huracán EVO Spyder has raised the bar for convertible supercars. Its combination of breathtaking performance, advanced aerodynamics, and luxurious interior places it at the pinnacle of automotive engineering. The sophisticated LDVI and LPI systems work in tandem to deliver an unparalleled driving experience, ensuring that the Huracán EVO Spyder remains a benchmark for future supercars.

While the price of entry may be steep, it’s important to remember that the Huracán EVO Spyder offers a unique driving experience, one that is unmatched by other convertible supercars on the market. For those fortunate enough to be in a position to purchase such a vehicle, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder promises to deliver an unforgettable blend of raw power, luxury, and exclusivity. It’s a testament to Lamborghini’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and performance and a shining example of what can be achieved when passion and innovation collide.

We were all hoping to see the rumored hybrid Lamborghini in a few weeks at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, but the latest news is setting us up for a disappointment … the LB48H will not be shown in Switzerland but has been postponed to the IAA in Frankfurt later this year.

The LB48H will be the first V12 hybrid production car from Lamborghini, with only 63 units built at a rumored price of €2,200,000 before taxes, the car has been sold out since July 2018 already … the 63 owners will, however, be invited to a private unveiling of their car shortly after the Geneva Motor Show.

According to Lamborghini’s Chief Commercial Officer, Federico Foschini, the LB48H is the internal, technical name and the car will receive a fitting name by the time they unveil it, also note this is an important concept for the future, as we all know the LB48H will give us a glimpse at what the Aventador successor will look like.

It has already been confirmed the Aventador will be replaced by a hybrid model, adding electric motors to the V12 engine … in case of the LB48H we will see the 6.5 liter V12 getting help from two electric motors powering the front wheels, total power output has been rumored to be 838 hp (850PS) so the hybrid system might add about 100ps to the V12 engine it seems.

We know the styling for the LB48H will be influenced by the Terzo Millennio concept shown in 2017 and will preview some queues for the Aventador successor, just like the Reventon did for the Aventador, Foschini also mentioned the successor would be using the hybrid powertrain to improve performance, they don’ t intend to offer long-range driving on electric power alone, but want to have more power without increasing the output from the V12 … fully electric driving range could be as low as 30km he mentioned.

Foschini also indicated the Aventador successor might be delayed until 2021 because sales are still going strong, the latest Aventador SVJ production of 900 units sold out in a mere four weeks, and we still have the Aventador SVJ Roadster to be unveiled … so a successor to the V12 flagship from Sant’Agata isn’t needed yet, but he also confirmed they are already working on it, the internal code is rumored to be LB635 …

One more item that came up during the interview … there will be a surprise from Lamborghini at the IAA in September, Foschini wouldn’t reveal any details but he might be referring to a Urus hybrid version that has been talked about for a while now too.

So what will populate the stand at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in two weeks then … most likely the public unveiling of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO and perhaps the premiere of the Huracan EVO Spyder … and what about the Aventador SVJ Roadster, we all know that is still to come too, and how many of this open-top V12 will they produce in the end?

What could we expect Automobili Lamborghini SpA to show us in a few weeks at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show?

The LB48H

A lot of rumors mention a new, highly limited edition LB48H model based on the current V12 flagship version of the Aventador, but with the ‘H’ in the name everybody talks about a hybrid system with lots of horsepower … taking into account the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ that is being built as we speak in Sant’Agata packs no less than 770 bhp at 8,500 rpm from the NA V12 engine, adding some electric motors could easily push power beyond the 800 bhp mark, some sources mention a total power output of 843 hp.

We all know Hybrid power is the future for Lamborghini, CEO Stefano Domenicali already confirmed both the Aventador and the Huracan successors will be adding electric motors to their naturally aspirated engines … so having a Hybrid limited edition before the successor is unveiled would make perfect sense.

Aventador SVJ Roadster

If you would take a look at the production line in Sant’Agata today you would notice a lot of Aventador SVJ Coupe being built, last week only a single Aventador S Roadster was being finished, all other cars ‘in the works’ were SVJ … but we still haven’t seen a Roadster version of this top of the line version, and we are sure Lamborghini will offer an open-top SVJ at some point … but time is running out.

Will we be able to admire an Aventador SVJ Roadster in early March already? Chances are high, we all know the Aventador will be replaced by a new model in 2020 and currently the factory can build about 1,200 Aventador each year … 2019 has just started, so if Lamborghini wants to start building the successor in 2020 with an unveil at next years Geneva Motor Show they will probably have to stop building the Aventador in late 2019, so they can convert the assembly line to the new model.

Let’s add this up … this would mean about 10 months of Aventador production is left … about 1,000 units, they are building 900 units of the Aventador SVJ Coupe, but that’s already ongoing, so let’s say they still must make half of those, 450 units. But Aventador SVJ Roadster production hasn’t started yet, neither production of the LB48H (Coupe and perhaps a Roadster too?) … so, in total about 550 ‘spots’ are left to be built this year … 25 LB48H and 25 LB48H Roadster … that leaves 500 Aventador SVJ Roadster to be built before the end of the year …

Huracan EVO Spyder

Personally, I think it is too soon for Lamborghini to show the Spyder version of their latest Huracan incarnation, the Huracan EVO has just been on a dynamic launch in the Middle-East … the Coupe will surely be shown in Geneva this year, but the Spyder version, although already captured months ago as a test mule, will probably not be introduced so soon after the Coupe version.

So despite the fact I would love to see the Huracan EVO Spyder in March, I think we’ll have to wait until at least September for the Paris Motor Show to admire the convertible V10 model from Sant’Agata at a European car show.

Huracan Super Trofeo Omologato

There is a rumor on some forum about a new Huracan in the pipeline, with the Huracan EVO street car and the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO race car … we might see a combination of this in the shape and form of a street legal version Super Trofeo that could be called the Huracan Super Trofeo Omologato … like the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale we’ve seen before, a more aggressively styled version of a Performante perhaps.

Huracan Performante EVO

Will there be a more powerful Lamborghini Huracan Performante EVO on the model list soon? Perhaps, keeping in mind the new Huracan EVO has the same power output as the ‘old’ Huracan Performante, it would make sense for Lamborghini to create a new Performante version based on the EVO, with less weight and more power … closer to 700 bhp could be interesting, add four-wheel steering and a further development of the famous ALA and we might get another Nürburgring record.

If there is a new Huracan Performante EVO in the pipeline, chances are we’ll also be seeing a Spyder version of this high power V10 derivative soon after the Coupe is unveiled.

Urus Ibrido

When the Lamborghini Urus Super SUV was introduced we all knew a more powerful version was already being mentioned, and most likely the Urus would become the first actual production Lamborghini to offer a hybrid system … the addition weight would be more easily offset against the already elevated overall weight of an Urus anyway.

Will be get an Urus Performante, or an Urus S perhaps … or it could just be called Urus I for Ibrido, who knows, but it will keep the V8 engine and add a few electric motors to raise power up from the current 650 hp to create an even quicker Urus variant, versions with a V10 or even a V12 engine are very unlikely to be made in the future I think.

We will have to wait until March 5th 2019 for the official press conference at the Geneva Motor Show to admire what Lamborghini has in store for us next …

When introduced, the Performante held the record time on the Nurburgring with a time of 6:52:01, a record that would be broken later on, but still … today the Huracan Performante still owns 8 record times on tracks all over the world … which makes the Performante one of the fastest production sports cars in the world.

By using Forged Composite and introducing ALA, Lamborghini Active Aerodynamics (which won the Autocar Innovation Award in 2017 by the way) together with aero vectoring and a dedicated chassis setup the Lamborghini Huracan Performante is an incredible car … both on the track and on the open road.

And now Lamborghini is ready to unveil the next dimension of the Huracan Performante at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show … no details are given yet, but we are almost sure this will be the Spyder version of this high-performance supercar.

A short video actually depicts a dark blue Huracan Performante … a rather unusual shade on this model, hence perfect to introduce on the Performante Spyder, the black Loge wheels are covering yellow brake calipers and those impressive Tricolore stripes are still there along the bottom of the door.

If the Huracan Performante Spyder will accelerate to 100km/h from standstill in 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 Km/h like the coupé version isn’t sure, but undoubtedly he same V10 engine with 640 hp will be found in this open-top variant.

We’ve all seen the highly camouflaged test mule of a different looking Lamborghini Aventador being testing on the open road, a much more aggressive styling, a dual rear wing with a central strut first seen on the 2013 Lamborghini Veneno and a pair of high mounted exhausts at the rear … it is clear they are applying the lessons learned from the Huracan Performante with the active aerodynamic ALA onto their flagship next.

But will this new Aventador evolution be unveiled in about a week at the 2018 GIMS, or Geneva International Motor Show? Probably not I’m afraid …

A lot of work, time and attention have been put into the Lamborghini Urus, we’ve seen the press photos, most journalists have been offered a spot behind the steering wheel, and private unveilings have been held at dealerships all over the world … but a real, public introduction for this high volume Raging Bull SUV hasn’t happened yet, so it is more than likely the Urus will take center stage in Geneva for 2018.

Keep in mind the volume this new Sports SUV has to sell in, makes it the most important new Lamborghini model in decades, the Urus will effectively double the current production numbers, so its importance should not be underestimated … Automobili Lamborghini SpA is planning to build up to 3,500 Urus each year … so keeping the focus on this model would make perfect sense for their marketing department.

And remember there is yet another model that has been spotted a long time ago, and that hasn’t been officially introduced … the Huracan Performante Spyder … that’s right, the top of the line V10 model has been spotted with a soft top configuration several months ago … and you still can’t order one from your local dealership … so having the Spyder version of the Performante in Geneva next to the Urus would make be a great move for Lamborghini to counter the new Ferrari Pista that will also be premiering in Switzerland.

But back to that amazing looking Aventador test mule … rumor has it this model will be called the SVJ or SV Jota, but I wouldn’t mind if they call it the GT … remember the Diablo GT … making an Aventador GT with a similar philosophy could be a great marketing move … we’ve already seen the Aventador J and the Aventador SV, so why create an Aventador SVJ next.

We can be sure the final Aventador evolution will be using ALA, Active Lamborghini Aerodynamics, just like the Huracan Performante, most likely the use of forged composite will make sure the Aventador SVJ is even lighter than the SV was, add a few horsepower … at least 770 like the Centenario (remember the SV had 750 hp just like the Veneno) and we might be seeing another record run in Germany.

A small chronology of Geneva unveils … the Aventador was introduced back in 2011, in 2012 we enjoyed the one of a kind Aventador J in Switzerland while 2013 marked the introduction of the limited edition Veneno. In 2014 the V10 Huracan took center stage but in 2015 the V12 was back with impressive Aventador Super Veloce while 2016 gave us another limited edition model, the Centenario, celebrating the 100th birthday of Ferruccio Lamborghini. In 2017 the ‘facelift’ was shown as the Aventador S … so I don’t think 2018 will be the year for the final evolution of the V12 flagship, not with the Urus and possibly the Huracan Performante Spyder still needing their public unveil …

So my guess would be that the Aventador SV Jota will not be introduced until the 2019 Geneva Motor Show so they can unveil an Aventador SVJ Roadster about six months later … and halt production of the Aventador by August 2020 to convert the assembly line for the Aventador successor (project LB634) to be shown at the 2021 Geneva Auto Show.

Naturally we’ve already published an in depth article on the brand new Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 that was unveiled at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show in early March, we even put together a large gallery on the Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 Avio, a limited edition of the succesful V10 Bull that will be built only 250 times … but there we so many other, interesting cars shown during the show … both on the stands and in special, VIP areas only open on invitation … we take a look at them all.

Right next to the stunning Centenario Lamborghini showed a bright red Huracán LP580-2 on silver wheels and a white Huracán LP610-4 Spyder with an amazing looking blue leather interior with red stitching and special, Forged Composite used throughout the interior … very nice and exclusive looking.

So the Automobili Lamborghini SpA stand showed a total of 4 cars to the public … but upstairs is the VIP lounge, open on invitation only and usually for owners or future customers that are about to sign their order … and if you are thinking about getting some of those amazing Ad Personam touches added to your Lamborghini there is an Ad Personam Studio right next to the VIP lounge where the most beautiful cars are prestented.

For 2016 the VIP lounge showcased a truly magnificent Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, finished in a very dark red, pearl metallic shade called Nero Granatus over a highly custom ordered interior, complete with Ad Personam crest on the doors, color coded clear carbon fiber and a beautiful Elegante pattern on the seats, rarely seen in the Aventador. Just about all the exterior air intakes had red carbon fiber surrounds and just to complete the look the engine bay, visible through the glass engine cover, was also fitted with red clear carbon fiber parts.

Inside the Ad Personam Studio at the Geneva Motor Show we found a matte white Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 Spyder with a luxurious looking, brown leather upholstery showing an awesome hexagon pattern and ‘Huracán’ script on the seats … again the central console, doors and vents got covered in Forged Composite here … a very nice touch.

With six Raging Bulls in total on display at Lamborghini it would be difficult for the other stands to draw attention to them … but DMC managed to do just that, being at Geneva for the second time in a row, DMC unveiled the new Huracán Jeddah edition in Geneva, finished in an intimidating black that massive, Countach inspired rear wing looked better than ever.

Nimrod was present in Geneva too, remember the Avanti Rosso? Based on the Lamborghini Aventador, the Avanti Rosso by Nimrod was a very special looking car altogether with some serious intakes and massive wing added … this time the car is called the Avanti Toro and comes with a new front bumper design and some other modifications … according to the owner he already sold 3 Avanti Rosso/Toro.

Let’s say you love the Lamborghini Veneno, but buying one is just a little too expensive (there is one listed for sale at €10,000,000), so the next best thing would be to get an Aventador and install those special, center lock wheels … which are available as an option from Lamborghini, called the Razze 7 wheels. But there is one downside … these Razze 7 don’t come with the carbon fiber ring as seen on the Veneno. But fear not, Mansory has just released a brand new wheel for the Lamborghini Aventador that looks very close to the original Razze 7 wheel … and Mansory does deliver the ring with them.

All in all the 87th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show was once again an amazing experience, showing some of the most exclusive cars in the world … most of them we will probably never see on the open road anyway.

With the new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder recently unveiled at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt you might have forgotten about the very special model to be created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the late Ferruccio Lamborghini next year.

At the 2016 Geneva Auto Show we should finally be able to admire the brand new, highly limited production Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 … no details are known at this moment, in fact the design of this very special car isn’t even finished yet as Automobili Lamborghini SpA is still listening to the people that have put down a deposit on this car after only seeing a virtual presentation in the United States.

Most likely we are talking about a V12 engine inside modified Aventador bodywork … probably one step above the current Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce but not as aggressive as the Veneno LP750-4, the LP770-4 designation also means we are not talking about a hybrid model here, but some pure Raging Bull.

Pricing and details will be published by March 2016 when this special Ferruccio Lamborghini car is shown to the public, but that doesn’t keep us from admiring two amazing renders, one very aggressive one created by Angelo Swinnen and a second, more rounded evolution of the Aventador by Birmelini.

Back in August 2015 a rumor started about Lamborghini preparing a new Hyper Car to be unveiled, a car one step above the current Aventador … many believed it to be a V12 hybrid car to rival the likes of Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche … some even stated she would be unveiled at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt … but time would tell a different story … a story that began in 1916 in fact.

We all know the story behind the founding of Automobili Lamborghini SpA in 1963, the late Ferruccio Lamborghini owned a Ferrari that he had nothing but trouble with, so he confronted Enzo Ferrari with it, who allegedly kicked Ferruccio out of his office, the latter being the proud man he was would show Enzo how a proper GT should be built … so Ferruccio built a factory in Sant’Agata and started building cars that would soon rival Ferrari on his own terrain.

That is the legend behind Automobili Lamborghini SpA … be it fact or fiction … it does sound like something Enzo might have done anyway, and in the end we would be seeing some of the most impressive, innovative and beautiful cars ever made.

Ferruccio Elio Arturo Lamborghini was born on April 28.1916 and sadly passed away on February 20. 1993 in Perugia, Italy … only two months before his 77th birthday … but that also means he would be celebrating his 100th birthday in 2016 … and that is exactly why Lamborghini is bringing us a new car next year.

This is not the hybrid hyper car rumored before but a new, limited edition super car that could be called the Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4, a name that has been registered not too long ago and that would perfectly suit a special model to celebrate Ferruccio’s birthday next year.

As usual there are no official statements or any kind of information to be found yet, in fact when Lamborghini disclosed they were building a special commemorative model like this to a select group of VIP that had been invited to a press conference during the 2015 Pebble Beach event in the United States … they didn’t even show an actual car … rumor has it only an on screen presentation or a holographic model was shown … still the production run of 20 units sold out on the spot, if the 10 Roadster versions are ever to be built isn’t even sure.

The very few people that actually saw this presentation in the United States are all keeping their lips sealed, so nobody even disclosed what the Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 looks like, that is why a lot of speculation has been going on … still TopSpeed managed to get a render together on how she might look.

this and many more photos of lamborghinis are available on www. Lambocars. Com

From the render we see a close resemblance to the LPI910-4 Asterion, the Lamborghini hybrid concept unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but still with Huracán inspired headlights and the Aventador roofline … at the moment it isn’t even sure if the Centenario LP770-4 is a V12 or a V10 model.

Some sources talk about the Centenario as being a model like the Reventon was to the Murciélago LP640 … a limited edition, high price custom model based on the current V12 flagship … that would mean an Aventador chassis today … but didn’t we already have two special models on the Aventador series, the Aventador J and the Veneno LP750-4, so would a third version make sense?

Yes it would, keep in mind when Ferruccio Lamborghini started building cars he felt the V12 was the only engine that would be suited for the cars with his crest on the hood, so why create a model to celebrate his 100th birthday with a lesser engine? That would almost be sacrilege if you ask me, so the 2016 Centenario LP770-4 just has to have a V12 engine … period.

That leaves the current Aventador V12 engine as the only option, and with the brand new Superveloce been released this year using the uprated 750hp version of that specific model would be the most sensible choice too … tweak her a little further and you’ll end up with a power output of 770hp … hence the LP770 designation … engine issue solved, who needs a hybrid setup anyway with an N/A engine performing like this?

But now comes the tricky part … styling … we all know the Aventador looks good, even after being in production for four years, the LP720-4 50th Anniversary edition is a beauty too and the new LP750-4 Superveloce continues this path nicely with her more aggressive looks … while the one-off Aventador J is a roofless concept built for one lucky customer and the Veneno looks more like a LeMans race car that is street legal … but is this what Ferruccio would be building if he would still be running to company ? Chances are … yes and no.

Ferruccio Lamborghini wanted to build GT cars when he founded the car making company in 1963, comfortable Gran Turismo models with lots of power and a high top speed all while offering a luxurious interior with the best leather possible … cars like the 350GT, Islero, Jarama and Espada … a type of car that hasn’t been built in Sant’Agata since the final Espada left the gates in the late Seventies.

Sure he also had the stunning Miura produced while he was still running Automobili Lamborghini SpA, but that was because he saw the potential that car had to make the company name known, in the end this wasn’t the type of car he wanted to build and by the time the Countach was ready to be delivered to customers he had already sold a controlling 51% to Rossetti in 1972 … and the remaining 49% to Leimer in 1973.

So would it be a good idea to create a style in-between the Aventador Superveloce and the Veneno as a celebration model for Ferruccio Lamborghini … knowing that he really wanted to build GT cars and not these low, rather uncomfortable exotics … I guess not, but with the current lineup what choice does Lamborghini have?

Other sources mention the Centenario LP770-4 could be using a modified Huracán chassis while retaining the V12 engine from the Aventador, and being priced at $1,400,000 each with a production run of 20 units … with 10 Roadster versions being possible too at a slightly higher price.

An educated guess would be the fact that the Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 will offer some serious performance figures like an acceleration from 0 to 100Km/h in less than 3 seconds and a top speed beyond the 300 km/h mark … and that the interior will be more luxuriously oriented when compared to the race inspired Superveloce inside with all of that amazing, clear carbon being visible.

What we do know if the fact the new Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 will be unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show in March 2016, a few weeks before Ferruccio’s 100th birthday.

But what if Automobili Lamborghini SpA is taking a totally different route for this celebration model? Think about this: why not have the special Research and Development department with their prototype building facility create a truly special model like they did with the Sesto Elemento. That building has been specifically destined for manufacturing concepts, prototypes … and low production models that would be difficult to build on the actual production lines at the factory.

That would be the perfect opportunity to build 20 units of the Centenario LP770-4, on a known chassis, with the famous V12 engine … but boasting a totally different bodywork … and while we are fantasizing along this route wouldn’t it be a great idea to pull the 2008 Estoque concept back from under the dust and create a top of the line Lamborghini GT to celebrate Ferruccio, such a car would really be perfect for his 100th birthday.

I’m sure it could be possible to get the Aventador V12 engine to fit into a modified chassis with the engine at the front, a four wheel drive system, some amazing looking 21inch wheels all around on a two door concept inspired by the Estoque but updated with Aventador, Huracan and Asterion looks with a 2+2 seat arrangement finished in the softest Italian leather combined with the new Forged Composite and all the luxury amenities a GT offers today … now that would really be a Ferruccio Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4.

Look at how the Gran Turismo style was found on the LPI910-4 Asterion with that luxurious, bright interior seating two people … and still had the V10 engine in the back … that style with the 770 hp V12 in the back would be even more in line with the ideas Ferruccio had back in the Sixties than a more aggressive looking Aventador.

During the Monterey weekend event in the United States the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini SpA, mr Stephan Winkelmann confirmed there will be a brand new super car unveiled during the 2016 Geneva Auto Show … this will be the highly rumored hypercar that came up last week.

Rumor has it this car will become a very limited production model based on the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce that was introduced at the 2015 Geneva show with only 20 Coupé and 10 Roadster versions made, priced way above the regular Aventador … but not as high as the Veneno, most likely the price will be about the same as the Reventon from 2008 which was a highly modified Murciélago LP640 … the Reventon was sold at €1,000,000 back then … take into account inflation and you are looking at a price around the €1,500,000 mark for this new V12 super car I guess.

Most likely this new hypercar will have an increase in power, some talk about as much as 800 hp, others mention a more conservatively 770 hp … while another rumor surrounding this new limited edition model is the fact it could be a hybrid, in which case we would be looking at a power rating that could reach the 1,000 hp mark. Keeping in mind the Asterion LPi910-4 added 300 ‘electric’ hp to the original 610 hp V10 engine a similar increase in power would bring the Aventador LP750-4 engine up to 1050 hp in total … that would really put the LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1 at a distance.

Last week word came out Lamborghini had sent out invitations to current owners and possible buyers for a ‘behind closed doors’ unveil of this new car … however it is very unlikely these people will get to see an actual car at Pebble Beach this weekend … most likely the unveil will be limited to a presentation and a holographic animation according to Road and Track.

Another very interesting bit of information was given by Stephan Winkelmann today … there are two additional versions of the Lamborghini Huracan just around the corner … let’s hope this means we will be seeing the coveted Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt in September, and maybe there is a Huracan LP610-2 rear wheel drive only version in our future too.

During the 2015 edition of the Geneva Auto Show the spotlights were all on the amazing looking Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce that tool center stage on the ground floor of the Lamborghini stand, but on the first floor, in the VIP section of the stand we could admire another sample of what is possible in the Ad Personam program … Automobili Lamborghini SpA’s in house personalization department … and while there are a few limits imposed by the Ad Personam director the list op possibilities does seem endless.

Last year Lamborghini showed a very nice blue metallic Aventador Roadster upstairs, complete with custom wheels and a light grey finish on parts that usually come in glossy black on the Roadster … but for the 2015 edition Lamborghini took their Ad Personam showcase one step further with an absolutely stunning matte red Roadster, a special kind of raspberry metallic shade of red called Rosso Pyra.

This time the usually black parts on the Roadster received a satin grey finish, a sort of titanium shade that combined perfectly well with the red bodywork and the glossy Forged Composite parts used on the air intakes, vents, front center section and the entire rear wing … usually I’m a big fan of clear carbon fiber, but on this car the Forged Composite looked amazing, even more so because both roof panels were finished in a high glossy Forged Composite too.

The magnificent Dione wheels received the same satin titanium finish as the windshield surround and roof sections, but no painted insets this time … the 2014 demo car had a touch of blue paint on these wheels too, different, but a little over the top perhaps.

Once you try to look beyond that amazing raspberry red paint you start to admire the interior, which in this case is totally mind blowing … a combination of light and dark grey alcantara, red stitching, high gloss Forged Composite on the dashboard and central console … topped with a nicely detailed pattern stitched on top of the door panels, the Raging Bull logo on the headrest … and a nice, triple Y-Shape on the seat back to remind us of the taillights.

This Rosso Pyro Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster was a very nice demonstrator of the possibilities available in the Ad Personam program while she was surrounded by even more options … how about a wall of different shades of leather … several tints of each shade in fact, so you can combine it just the way you like it.

Also some samples of custom wheels, special order steering wheels with a combination of shades and clear carbon fiber, custom Q-Citura stitching and personal paint mixtures applied to scale models so you can see how it reflects on the design … and even some Carbon Skin, the Lamborghini upholstery that looks like carbon fiber, but is smooth and supple like leather.

So if you really want to have a one of a kind Lamborghini to really stand out from the crowd you’ve got two options … either opt for a tuner … or go for the factory original Ad Personam program.

Hamann “Limited” conquers European roads

Spectacular Hamann “Limited” version based on the Lamborghini Aventador already attracts the attention on European roads

Independent body concept, new design details and power boosted to around 760 PS and 735 Nm

All refinement components are available immediately

Hamann has taken the bull by the horns and put the ultimate finish on one of the most striking and powerful sports cars of all time. After its debut at Geneva Motor Show and Top Marques Monaco, the “Hamann Lambo” now grabs the attention on European roads. The refinement specialist from Laupheim offers the model as finely tuned “total work of art”. However, the exclusive components can also be configured as desired, for example, in case the basic model already parks in the customer’s garage.

Either way the “Lambo” becomes even more uncompromising, even more spectacular: the independent body concept of the Swabian factory has turned the martial Lamborghini Aventador into a personalised masterpiece – with unique design details and an impressive increase in power by almost ten per cent.

The leitmotif of the Hamann “Limited” is uniqueness in every way. The front boasts custom-made carbon air vent inserts. The optical counterpart of the lightweight nostrils is the two-piece front spoiler made of the same high-strength racing material, which provides for racing-grade down force and gives the front wheels increased grip. To optimise the aerodynamics, the new eye-catching side skirts help calm the airflow on the underside.

The greatest optimisation requirement for motorsport specialist Hamann was at the rear of the Aventador. The redesigned features were thus particularly extensive here. Hamann replaced the rear apron and rear diffuser with their own designs and constructions made of ultra-lightweight carbon fibre. The adjustable rear spoiler is made of the same material. Hamann also developed the sport final muffler specifically for the “Limited.” There is also a special race version available with backfire.

The voluminous air intake slots on the engine compartment lid supply the huge twelve-cylinder unit with plenty of cool air. Here, Hamann has integrated very high-quality clear-coated carbon fibre, which allows a clear view of the Lamborghini power package.

Highlights of the customised Aventador are the alloy wheels, which go perfectly with its new look. The multi-part Hamann “Professional” is produced by a forging process, which guarantees maximum driving dynamics through lightness and the highest level of stiffness. The high-performance wheels in sizes 9×20 and 13×21 inch bear ultra-high-performance tyres in sizes 255/30 ZR 20 in front and 355/25 ZR 21 in the back.

The specialists of Hamann push the performance of the potent Italian to new heights. 700 hp (515 kW) and 690 Nm were the numbers to beat – and that’s what motor racing professional Hamann clearly managed to do. The completely redesigned software of the control unit of the twelve-cylinder in the “Limited” now reaches 760 hp (559 kW). The maximum torque of the 6.5-liter V12 increases with the identity field optimisation to a raging 735 Nm*.

Hamann’s “Limited Lambo” comes with the special matt grey paint “Stealth Grey” – and “poison” green contrasted body details. However, Hamann fulfils every customer desire imaginable – also in the vehicle’s interior: highest manufacturing quality and selected materials have been the benchmark at Hamann for over 28 years. A special hue also makes the interior unmistakable: the three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel is trimmed in green leather on the top and bottom. Intricately stitched applications on the instrument panel, the side panels and the centre console correspond excellently with other features, such as the instrument panel cover and the seat tracks of the exclusive, high-speed sports seats.

All elements marked with * are racing parts without German TÜV approval.

Most of us are eagerly awaiting next week’s public unveil of the new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show … however Automobili Lamborghini SpA apparently is planning another ‘reveal’ too.

New Ad Personam options for the Lamborghini Aventador … in fact they will be showing a very special Aventador LP700-4 Roadster next to the new Huracan … the most eye-catching feature on this blue V12 is the fact it will feature a two-tone exterior combining Blue Sadiris (a nice metallic blue shade) with matte silver details … the exterior rear view mirrors, the windshield surround and the usually glossy black sections on the engine cover all received a matte silver coating as part of these new Ad Personam options.

On the inside of the Lamborghini Aventador you can now select from a much larger palette of shades for both leather and alcantara upholstery, you can even change the color of the floor mats and their piping and opt for seatbelts that blend in better with the rest of the interior … no more black seat belts only … and things get even better.

We already know the ‘branding package’ that adds embossed Raging Bull emblems on the headrest … well you can go totally crazy now with new Ad Personam options that allow you to have your own logo, crest or name is an embroidery on the upper door panel or on the inner side of the seats … while you can ask for a contrasting color for the Raging Bull logo on the headrest … and have the new floor mats feature your very own design too.

Extended stitching is another option for the interior while you can now select from three different shades of leather for the upper section of the dashboard, with or without contrasted stitching … also the dashboard pod in front of the driver can receive three different shades of leather now. For the lower part of the dashboard you can opt for every tint of leather and alcantara available … just not Bianco Leda as this would reflect too much in the windshield.

For the door panels things get a lot more interesting too, you can have the entire door panel finished in a custom shade now, both leather and alcantara … but once again not in Bianco Leda, same thing for the upper door insert (the long triangular shaped section). For the elbow rest on the door you can select every shade again, either leather or alcantara, and select from contrasting stitching … or go for the stunning Q-Citura stitching pattern here. The door sill itself can also be covered in either leather or alcantara and again you can select the shade from the entire palette available … including white.

When you go for a contrasting stitching shade on the upholstery you can also ask for the ‘extended stitching’ option … this will feature the same, different shade of thread on the steering wheel … a final touch to really make the interior a very personal statement is the added option of ‘Forged Composite’ finish.

For the interior you could already select a very nice clear carbon fiber finish on many parts like the central console, the dashboard pod, the door handles and the seat back shell … now you can also order the patented Forged Composite finish on most parts, the Aventador Roadster shown in Geneva will feature this option too … it is a totally different look and feel compared to clear carbon fiber.

Note the carbon fiber exterior package is now also available in the new Forged Composite finish, so the air intake surround, the air vents at the rear, the lower diffuser, the middle section in the front bumper and probably the side air intakes will all be available in the impressive Forged Composite finish through the Ad Personam programme … an last but not least … you can order the Roadster roof panels in Forged Composite too now.

The Aventador Roadster at Geneva will not only show a new shade of blue metallic paint called Sadiris and the two tone finish option with matte silver, but also dual color rims … check out the images and you’ll see the silver finished Dione wheels actually feature a blue color coded ring.

With the expansion of the number of options and combinations now available through the Ad Personam Program things could get rather complicated … so Automobili Lamborghini SpA now invites people to Sant’Agata … to the Ad Personam Studio where the customer can sit down with the Ad Personam representative and create his very own, custom made Raging Bull.

Automobili Lamborghini SpA currently offers these new Ad Personam options only for the Aventador model, but plans are to expand it to the new Huracan later on …

The new Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 has only been shown behind closed doors during very exclusive, VIP events where possible customers and people who already had a standing order in the books could get a look at the new V10 Raging Bull.

So the general public has only been able to admire this new Lamborghini on photos and on some video footage that has been published online … the actual world premiere to the members of the press and the public will be during the 2014 edition of the Geneva Auto Show that starts on March 4th … still that didn’t keep people from actually ordering this amazing new car from Sant’Agata.

In fact Automobili Lamborghini SpA has just published the fact that a total of 700 orders haven been received for their new baby in just one month … that’s almost 25 orders per day on average … not bad for a brand new development … Lamborghini must have created something really special this time for all those anticipating owners out there.

Naturally judging from the photos the 2014 Lamborghini Huracán looks really impressive, wide and low … while still showing the Lamborghini pedigree in many design cues, the interior looks absolutely top notch and the choice of materials in second to none … you can create a very sporty look inside combining Alcantara and smooth leather in contrasting shades together with custom stitching … or go for a more luxurious feel with the warm brown full leather upholstery.

It is safe to say the Huracán LP610-4 already is a success for Automobili Lamborghini SpA with first customer deliveries planned towards the end of 2014 only … if you are thinking about buying this brand new Raging Bull too but haven’t put in your order yet … expect a long wait before your very own, personal Huracán will arrive on your driveway … that will be far into 2015 already by now.

I’m sure you all know Zagato based in Milan, Italy. This prestigious design company has been founded back in 1919 and they have been creating some of the most beautiful and highly collectible cars ever since … using well known base from Abarth, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Ferrari and naturally Lamborghini to name but a few.

In fact back in the mid Sixties we already saw the result of a collaboration between Zagato and Lamborghini in the shape of the 3500GTZ that was unveiled at the 1965 London Motor Show, some sources state only one was built while other talk about two units of this special V12 GT that was based on the first Lamborghini production model the 350GT, however Zagato removed 10cm from the original chassis and totally changed the appearance of this classic Bull.

It would take 30 years to see a new Zagato concept using Lamborghini parts … this time in the shape of the 1996 Raptor based on a Diablo VT chassis showing a very innovative idea for the canopy, the Zagato Raptor could be a closed coupé model that was easily converted into a barchetta style car be fitting a different canopy … two for the price of one.

By the late Nineties the Lamborghini Diablo was bound to be replaced by a successor, and in 1998 Zagato came up with the L147, also called the Super Diablo or Canto … a very round design for the V12 flagship that was rejected along the way and replaced by the Murciélago designed by Luc Donckerwolcke … in fact at least three Canto were built, not all to original Zagato specs but still very impressive nonetheless, one of them has been seen in the Zagato museum, an evolution is on display at the factory museum in Sant’Agata … and a third one has apparently been sold to a collector …

Now, 15 years later, a new chapter seems to be written to the history of Zagato and Lamborghini … rumor has it the Milanese company is preparing a brand new design based on the Lamborghini Aventador to be shown at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show.

Zagato is even contemplating a very limited production run of 9 units on the Lamborghini Aventador Zagato (didn’t we see that number recently too … oh yes, the Veneno Roadster is also being built only 9 times … at 3,3 million Euro each).

With the angular styling of the Lamborghini Aventador and the well-known, rounder design of recent Zagato models it will be very interesting to see how they will modify the V12 flagship … most likely the engine part will remain the 700hp unit we already know, Zagato will probably concentrate on styling alone, both inside and outside … perhaps we’ll see a kind of retro style Aventador emerge as Zagato usually goes ‘back to the origin’ of the company they take the basis from … an Aventador with Miura influences?

No firm details are available at this moment, but according to sources close to Zagato the project is already approved and work is on the way to show this new Raging Bull in Switzerland in a few months … if it will attract the interest of 9 wealthy customers to own a very special Lamborghini Aventador remains to be seen …

We’ve been hearing and reading all kinds of rumors about the new car Lamborghini is working on, internal communications talk about the LP724, which is known to the outside world as the upcoming Gallardo successor that might be called Cabrera, a name that has been mentioned a long time already … but has recently been denied as being the new V10 model from Sant’Agata when Huracan showed up again … remember this latter was trademarked when the Urus was in the pipeline.

Even the V10 has been questioned lately … talk about a Twin Turbo V8 engine has surfaced together with photos of two test mules for the new Lamborghini model, while during an interview with Stephan Winkelmann he firmly denied the company was working on a hybrid car like some of the competitors in Europe … but somehow a hybrid still lurks around the corner … although I think the first hybrid would be seen in the Urus that has been confirmed for a 2017 production by some sources.

And now another rumor comes up: in an article published by AutoCAR we read that the new Lamborghini model will not be shown in September during the 2013 edition of the IAA in Frankfurt … instead the 50th Anniversary celebrations that have been going on worldwide during 2013 will come to a massive climax at the IAA by unveiling a very special Lamborghini Concept at the IAA.

The good news would be this new Concept will show a serious preview of the actual production model that will take over from the ten year old Gallardo and we’ll finally be able to admire at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show.

Details on the Gallardo successor are still very sketchy … and totally unofficial naturally, but we should expect a carbon fiber / aluminum space frame structure (that will most likely be shared with the new Audi R8 model to be released in 2015) and an increase in overall length of about 16mm (total length 4,500mm) while width and height remain close to the current Gallardo measurements with 1,900mm and 1,165mm respectively.

Interior space will grow too thanks in part to a 40mm increased wheelbase (2600mm is mentioned) but probably also by using different seats which might be those amazing carbon forged composite units seen in the Aventador J and Urus … however a full carbon fiber monocoque like the one we see on the Aventador has been abandoned due to cost and manufacturing volume … the mold to create such a monocoque has a rather limited lifetime.

Body on the other hand will combine lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum in an effort to keep the total weight of the new Lamborghini LP724 under 1,500kgs that is put on the scales by the current Gallardo LP560-4 model … there is no word on styling however but I guess we’ll see a mix of Sesto Elemento, Egoista and perhaps even Veneno and Aventador on the new Baby Aventador as it has been called online already.

Power could initially come from the well-known, normally aspirated V10 engine, still at 5.2 Liter displacement it should deliver at least 600hp on all four wheels, with a maximum torque of 400lb ft this engine will comply with the strict EU6 emissions regulations that will be required from 2014 on, when a Twin Turbo V8 would be used it could boost power up to 630hp.

About the gearbox the information isn’t really clear either, some sources stick to the fact an ISR gearbox like we know from the Aventador will be used while other sources insist the DCT double clutch system will be borrowed from the current Audi R8 V10 Plus model …

Performance wise the Huracan LP630-4 (purely speculative name I remind you) could do 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 Km/h … those are some really impressive figures for a brand new Lamborghini model that is rumored to be about 7% more expensive than the Gallardo it replaces … expect the first dealer cars to show up shortly after the March 2014 Geneva Auto Show with actual deliveries in July 2014.

Let’s just wait and see what Automobili Lamborghini SpA unveils at the 2013 IAA in Frankfurt and make up our minds after that … in the meantime feast your eyes on two impressive mockups we put together for you showing both the closed coupé edition and the stylish open top Spyder version.

In a few days the 2013 edition of the Geneva Auto Show will open its doors, first for official members of the press but shortly after that for thousands of avid car fans from all over the world … and this year has some serious promises to fulfill, a lot has been going on about new super cars and concepts from the most impressive makes out there … among them Lamborghini.

Earlier this week Lamborghini published an announcement both on their FaceBook page and on the main site : Worldwide Unveil – New Lamborghini super sports car March 5 at 11:00am Geneva Motor Show – Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland … now this sounds really interesting.

The rumor mill has been doing overtime the last weeks, talk about a special 50th Anniversary edition of the Lamborghini Aventador flagship with an LP720-4 denomination … hinting to an increased power output of 720 hp soon become overshadowed after an interview with Stephan Winkelmann mentioned a car with two doors, two seats and a V12 … which immediately made people think about a front engine GT style Lamborghini to compete with the Ferrari FF … and recently Italian based Quattroroute magazine published an article that hinted towards a totally different Raging Bull for the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.

This year we will be seeing the exotics like the Ferrari F150, the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder competing with each other for attention … however if the article from Quattroroute has it right they might all be blown out of the water by a new, highly limited Lamborghini ultra-exotic that looks like nothing we’ve seen before. Rumor has it this new Raging Bull could create the same impact as the legendary Miura back in the Sixties, which stunned the super car market at the time … filling those shoes will be a difficult task.

We’ve seen limited edition Lamborghini before, the Reventon was actually a first step into this niche market of high priced, low volume special models based on then current production models, later the Reventon Roadster came around, built in even less numbers. Up next was a concept car that was turned in a limited edition, track only model because a lot of customers put in firm orders for the $2,200,000 Sesto Elemento, and if uniqueness is what you’ve been looking for the 2012 Aventador J was just the right car for you … only one made, sold before it even showed up on the Geneva stand for a rumored $2,750,000.

Fast forward one year … the 2013 Geneva Auto Show could again be the place to be for another very special Lamborghini, Quattroroute talks about a model that is still based on the mechanics of the Aventador, but that has a totally different style … they even mention a roof mounted air intake that extends into a vertical fin running into a large, fixed rear wing.

Naturally even more carbon fiber would be used on this new model, which will be totally customized on a ‘made to order’ basis to create a personal Lamborghini for the lucky customer … add even more power into the equation and the fact only three or four will be made and you just know this Lamborghini is intended for a special kind of owner … for one it might not even be street legal but could only be used on private tracks like the Sesto Elemento … but secondly the price might be between $3,000,000 and $4,000,000 … so in addition to being the fastest Lamborghini ever it will also be the most expensive ever to leave the doors in Sant’Agata.

So where does that leave a special Aventador 50th Anniversary edition? No official statement has been made on this, but I would think the factory still has something in store for us that will only be unveiled during the big celebration in Italy that will be held in May.

What about a front engine V12 GT Lamborghini? That seems to have been wishful thinking and not likely to happen, first up would be the production of the Urus SUV Concept as the Estoque has been postponed indefinitely and we also have to get a Gallardo replacement later this year or early 2014 … so Automobili Lamborghini SpA still has a lot of work ahead of themselves.

It seems Stephan Winkelmann was right when he mentioned Lamborghini will keep building one-off and limited edition models next to the regular production versions … we’ll know in a few days what Sant’Agata has been cooking up for us this year … if the Aventador J and Sesto Elemento are a hint of things to come, I’m sure we’ll be pleasantly impressed next week.

Based on a Quattroroute article

A lot of rumors have been going around online about what Automobili Lamborghini SpA will be bringing to the 2013 Geneva Auto Show, one of the cars on the stand is a sure thing … the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, I don’t think they will hide it from view for the audience at one of the most important Auto Shows in Europe … but this still leaves two spots open on the ground floor.

At first we all imagined one of the spots would be for the close Aventador LP700-4 in the MY2013 dress with full carbon fiber exterior package and Dione wheels while center stage would be taken by the limited edition 50th Anniversary celebration model … most likely an Aventador based model with custom options like an exclusive exterior shade and different stitching inside.

But last week the rumor mill took a different direction … during interviews with Lamborghini design director Filippo Perini, Lamborghini director of research and development Maurizio Reggiani and Lamborghini CEO and Director Stephan Winkelmann there was talk about something more powerful, more impressive … and what they all described as the fastest Lamborghini ever made in the last 50 years.

So while there will most likely be a special 50th Anniversary edition Lamborghini, we might not be seeing it in Geneva (but have to wait for the big celebration event around the factory in May) but instead we might admire something totally different … as Mr Winkelmann mentioned the car in Geneva will shock the automotive world.

According to TopSpeed.com the new Lamborghini at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show will have two doors, two seats and a V12 … but it will not use the Aventador base … so will we get another Jota race car with a V12 that’s street legal (as Mr Reggiani confirmed already) … or is Mr Winkelmann talking about another long awaited Bull, a front engine GT model.

We’ve all seen the Estoque back in 2008 in Paris, a stunning car that created a lot of interest but that has been postponed indefinitely at the moment, the Urus SUV concept shown in Beijing last year hasn’t received the green light yet … a decision should be made later this year … so if Lamborghini is really going to unveil an attention grabber in a few weeks it will have to be something really special.

So will this be a new front engine GT concept with only two doors this time, or will it be a pure bred race car for street use … whichever it will be, I’m sure it will be the star at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show all over again, just like the Aventador did in 2011 and the Aventador J in 2012 … Lamborghini has a reputation to uphold … and I’m sure they will not disappoint.

Right now most rumors are talking about a very special concept car that will have two doors, two seats and a V12 engine … but none of them mention the idea of a brand new Spyder edition … after all there is no word about a roof anywhere …

Naturally our attention was drawn to the Lamborghini Aventador Jota being unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, but in one of the other halls in the Expo palace we encounted another rare Aventador … created by Mansory.

A bit unexpected perhaps, but the clients of Mansory range among the most wealthiest people in the world, so it was only a matter of time before this german based tuner of high end super cars would be getting their hands on a Lamborghini, and if you are going through all the trouble of developing and building a tuning package for a Raging Bull why not go for the top … and completely change the latest flagship available from Sant’Agata … the Aventador LP700-4.

Now Mansory has a ‘love it or hate it’ relationship with owners of these exotic super cars, and with Lamborghini clients this is very much alive, when this red metallic car was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show the reactions were fierce … and ranged from the best right down to the worst … but you have to admit Mansory didn’t cut too many corners when they developed their vision of the Lamborghini Aventador … and I guess it does sell anyway.

Lets take a closer look at the Lamborghini Aventador after the company founded by Kourosh Mansory works their magic on it, as they’ve been doing for the last 20 years by the way, as the original Aventador is almost completely made up from carbon fiber it was only reasonable Mansory would continue the road set by Lamborghini. All parts they add to the Raging Bull before they call it a Mansory edition went through a prepreg-autoclave process before they were fitted to the car.

At the front we get a different bumper with modified air intakes to allow more air onto the coolers, Mansory also fits DRL’s … or daylight running lights on the Aventador in case you don’t like the Y shaped original ones, also note this new front section increases down force. Both fenders and the entire front hood are replaced with new Mansory made pieces including additional air vents, some in clear carbon fiber, others painted in a magnificent look dark red metallic shade, take a closer look at the fenders and you will notice the width of the Aventador has grown by 40mm up front … and even 50mm at the back where Mansory also fit wider body sections.

The side sills of the original Aventador are replaced by new Mansory units with different air outlets, also note the large intakes behind the doors are modified too, bigger and finished in clear carbon fiber there is even an extra fin inside them, the air outlets in front of the rear wheels also get a carbon fiber cover now, just to make them look in sync with the rest of the car.

At the rear we find a new diffuser, naturally in a glossy carbon fiber finish too, and the large air outlets below the taillights receive a Y-shape inset reminding the design of those taillights that now get a full carbon fiber rear wing to replace the original one … and Mansory even adds a second wing on top of that mounted on two struts … small detail: at speed the wing still rises up like on the standard car.

With all the carbon fiber all around it does make sence to finish the entire roof including the shoulder mounted air intakes in clear carbon fiber, and while you’re at it, why not cover those exterior rear view mirrors with the same lightweight material too.

A lot of reactions were about the wheels Mansory mounted on this Aventador model, big 9x20inch up front and 13×21 inch at the rear with 255/30 ZR20 and 345/25 ZR21 Hankook tires respectively … some very impressive figures on ultralight forged rims that receive some nice looking carbon fiber sections on the five spokes … however the design of these wheels gave way to some heated discussions between both Lamborghini owners and enthusiasts.

If you think the exterior was extensively modified you are in for another surprise when you open the door, the entire interior of the Mansory Aventador has been redesigned, from the stitching pattern on the seats and doors right up to the carbon fiber central console and modified dashboard layout, Mansory even replaced the steering wheel with their own model … and in case you are looking for that red start button on the central console you are out of luck … Mansory moved it up onto a roof console.

Now it might all look impressive, but how does all this carbon fiber add on influence the performance of that V12? Don’t worry, Mansory also handles the ECU re-programming and installs a massive looking exhaust system on their Aventador custom … the result is a nice 745PS (555kW) at 8300 rpm and an even more impressive 750 Nm at 6000 rpm, top speed has been increased to 355 Km/h with acceleration figures of 2.8 seconds from a standstill to 100 Km/h … a slight increase over the standard figures of 350Km/h and 2.9 seconds respectively … probably the wider wheels at the rear and the added aerodynamics consume the additional horsepower … price: about €600,000.

As I mentioned before, not everybody likes what Mansory did to the Lamborghini Aventador, but I for one will admit they really put some serious work in to creating a very special Raging Bull … and in case this red metallic Mansory Aventador just isn’t special enough Mansory offers the next step : The Black Diamond … also called the Mansory Carbonado.

UPDATE: make sure to check out the four videos at the bottom of this article.

It has been in the air for a few days ever since a Czech based forum released two shots prior to the official press release from Automobili Lamborghini SpA that has been released on the evening of March 5th.

The Lamborghini Aventador J is a fact, and the Unica teaser film we’ve all seen only two days ago was the preview for this one of a kind beauty yes, you are reading this right, only one Aventador J will be built, and no it will not be collecting dust in a showroom or on the museum floor this baby is completely street legal and will be sold to one very lucky owner.

Take a close look at this bright red Raging Bull, even the shade of red has been custom made for this masterpiece, if an open top car is what you have been looking for look no further, super cars don’t come more open than the Lamborghini Aventador J.

There is no roof on this V12 monster, with a V12 pumping out 700 hp we are talking uncompromising power combined in just about the best looks ever to come out of the gates in Sant’Agata, the outside of the car has been modified to such an extent it almost organically flows into the interior, but wait, where is the windshield there is none, so you are sitting in this unique car like you would be on a high speed motorcycle, a helmet as seen in some of the shots suddenly seams a very good idea, and somehow I don’t think that black tie dress code will survive the drive to the venue.

As mentioned the Lamborghini Aventador J is completely street legal, and I for one am sure we are talking about being right on the limit of what is legal for street use, this isn’t a super car anymore, this is a radical statement of sheer car design possibilities using the Raging Bull DNA and heritage to the fullest extend possible for the road.

Naturally we all remember the previous Lamborghini Jota based on the Miura, this brainchild of legendary Bob Wallace built in the Seventies also used the letter J as its name, for the “Appendix J” in FIA regulation and now over 40 years later the Aventador firmly plants the J back into motoring history the Jota is back and how !

Although this J model is still based on the regular Lamborghini Aventador, you can hardly ignore it looks totally different nonetheless, but the Lamborghini engineers were faced with one major problem we are talking about a carbon fiber monocoque car here, so removing the roof isn’t as easy as you might think. By thoroughly redesigning this monocoque and adding two safety bars behind the driver and passenger they did manage to create a very strong car without any kind of roof section for strength.

Note that the roof isn’t the only thing the Aventador J has shed there isn’t any kind of windshield either, and who needs a climate control system or a GPS unit in a car like this in case you get lost on the road the result is you’ll be spending more time driving the Aventador J, so who cares as long as there is enough fuel on hand.

Not only the looks of the Aventador J are innovative, how about seats covered in Carbonskin? That’s right, no leather or alcantara inside the J, they wouldn’t like the possible shower as there is no roof, so when it rains it pours in some countries. We all know Lamborghini has been gathering some amazing expertise in using carbon fiber technology on the Aventador J this knowledge is taken to the net level.

Carbonskin is a newly patented use of carbon fiber, by using woven carbon fibers that are soaked in a custom epoxy resin to stabilize the carbon fibers an keep the material soft at the same time which allows for use on seats, dashboard and door panels inside the Aventador J. A beautiful carbon fiber finish in mat black can be found all over the interior of this new car as upholstery, how amazing is that.

Just in case you want even more carbon fiber, the newly designed front spoiler is finished in clear carbon fiber too, much more aggressive looking compared to the regular Aventador it is ready to attack just about anything this car might encounter on the open road or on the track.

As there is also a really nice ‘hanging’ rear wing mounted above the modified rear end on the Aventador J all finished in carbon fiber naturally, you might need a second look, but yes : those exhausts are even bigger now and the metal grilles took over a lot of ‘real estate’ at the back.

I already was a big fan of those by now trademark ‘Y’ lights used on the Lamborghini models these days, however on this Aventador J they went for the same look in black, making the J look even more menacing when it speeds away from you it would take a car with a serious pedigree to keep up with this Raging Bull, I kid you not.

And Lamborghini hadn’t finished using carbon fiber yet, look at those center lock wheels, straight from the race track in a very nice, simple five spoke design if it wasn’t for that awesome looking ‘fan’ behind the principal spokes keeping those massive disc brakes cooled is a priority on a car like this.

If like me you love to admire a nice V12 engine the Aventador J is quite a feat for us, as there is no roof on this car Lamborghini decided to remove the engine cover too well there is still a cover, but is it more a frame, the two impressive cylinder banks of the engine are out in the open and they look great!

So bottom line: what are we talking about here?

This is a magnificently beautiful car, very aggressive and designed and built with only one thing in mind: bringing us the most extreme looking Raging Bull ever and it is for sale!

That’s right, we’ve seen several concept cars before, the Concept S for one, looking similar with a very low windshield and driver and passenger being divided from each other by body parts somewhat resembling the red line running from front, through the interior right to the back on the Aventador J.

And what about the Miura Concept car, also a very nice looking retro concept, people were eager to put their order in but Lamborghini didn’t build it in the end and this is where the Aventador J makes all the difference.

Price? There will be ONE and only one built, no prototype, not museum piece this one and only fully street legal and drivable Lamborghini Aventador J is available for one concerning customer and it is already sold for a cool 2,200,000 Euro without taxes.

I wonder where it will turn up in the world.

Please enjoy the movie we managed to make at the show:

According to several sources Automobili Lamborghini SpA has a production ready version of the Aventador Roadster hidden away somewhere at the Factory in Sant’Agata, no details have been leaked to the press yet, but people on the inside speak of a car looking even better than some of the renderings that have been roaming the internet only days after the closed version was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show.

However, one thing a source could state was the fact the roof construction is a big step ahead from the Murciélago Roadster canvas top … fortunately I can hear you say. Even a trained owner would need minutes to get the roof in place, if you tried your hand at mounting the roof on a Murciélago Roadster for the first time expect to use the best part of an hour to get it in place correctly. You wouldn’t be the first owner to call in a helpline to explain how to fit it … we can safely state mounting the Murciélago Roadster roof in place wasn’t for the faint hearted … the Aventador Roadster will have a much easier to handle roof.

Remember the advised top speed of the Murciélago Roadster with the roof in place ? It was 180 Km/h in fact … and no, this wasn’t a joke. Now I’ve spoken to many owners that exceeded 250 Km/h on the German highways with the roof in place … and it didn’t let go, but it does state ‘only’ 180 Km/h in the owner’s manual … somehow I do think this will no longer be the case on the Aventador Roadster.

So when can we expect this new, open top V12 flagship to see the light of day for us people outside the factory ? This could be in a few months already … the same source state the 2012 Geneva Auto Show to unveil the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster … and it would make sense in fact.

Think about it : the Aventador was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, and sales went through the roof, at this moment you are looking at a delivery time of at least 18 months, which could be even longer depending on how special you want your Aventador to be. As for the Gallardo … sure people are waiting for the successor of this V10 model, but let’s look at some facts : the Super Trofeo is planned for 2012 … and 2013, so my guess is that there will be no Gallardo successor at Geneva in 2012.

It wouldn’t make any sense to keep the ‘old’ Super Trofeo model running in 2013 when a new model is selling in late 2012 already, so I think we’ll be seeing a new V10 model sometime in 2013, either Geneva or Frankfurt … honestly I would put my money on the 2013 IAA in Frankfurt, by that time the 2013 edition of the Blankpain Super Trofeo Series has (or is) ended and there has been time to create a new race car.

So we have the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster at Geneva … perhaps. Note that in just about every recent interview with Stephan Winkelmann he has been talking about a third model in the lineup, now that could go into two directions … either a GT like based on the Estoque model, or a successor to the LM002 SUV model, and as much as I like a four door Lamborghini GT like the Estoque I think we are looking at a brand new, high end luxury SUV model from the Raging Bull in the near future.

At this moment Automobili Lamborghini SpA is expanding the dealer network is various countries that don’t have decent roads all around … so an SUV would be the perfect model for those, let’s face it … growing markets. Even with a V10 engine this off-road luxury motor would make sense in the lineup, this would position it above the Porsche Cayenne Turbo model … put a V12 into it and we are talking about a completely different ballgame.
But then there is the Audi S8 model … the previous one used a Gallardo derived V10 engine, so making a similar car by Lamborghini could be a conflict of interest for Audi AG (however the R8 V10 and the Gallardo are somewhat competition of each other too), but take a look at the current D4 model … normally an S8 based on this 2011 model will be available next year, but it will go back to a V8 bi-turbo engine … so a V10 powered Lamborghini Estoque would make sense now.

The 2012 Geneva Auto Show will open its doors in March … and only at that time will we be sure what to expect from the Raging Bull at Sant’Agata … but I for one am sure it will again be a masterpiece of Italian motoring, no matter if it is an Aventador Roadster, an Estoque or even a new SUV model … only time will tell.

Only a few more weeks before Automobili Lamborghini SpA will unveil their brand new Murciélago successor, a car that is rumored to be called the LP700-4 Aventador … however no official statement about this name has been published to this date.

I’m almost certain that in the week running up to the press conference in Geneva we might see a few teaser shots, or at least more and more details about this upcoming flagship will get unveiled, like the latest press release about the all carbon fiber cell used for this new model.

Automobili Lamborghini has been heavily researching the extensive use of CFRP in their cars, carbon fiber reinforced polymer will be used all over the new model, the cell of the future car will be made completely from carbon fiber in a monocoque structure … just like Formula One cars … now where did we hear this before ? Right, from Automobili Lamborghini SpA in their previous press release talking about the pushrod suspension also used on their new ultra exotic road car.

The ‘cell’ of the future Lamborghini flagship includes the entire base section, also known as the tub and the actual roof of the car, making this one stiff construction to protect the driver and passenger in case of a crash by absorbing the energy made possible from the use of Braiding technology for the stiffening elements … but still this entire structure only weighs 147.5 Kgs (324.5 lbs).

With this lightweight monocoque the entire weight of the car could be kept to a bare minimum, note that the ‘body-in-white’ of this V12 super car will only put 229.5 kgs on the scales but still offer a torsional rigidity of a massive 35,000 Nm per degree of twist, a very impressive figure that will have a stunning impact on the driving pleasure of this new Raging Bull.

Do note that the entire monocoque is actually built by Lamborghini themselves, making the LP700-4 Aventador another ‘made in Sant’Agata’ beauty on wheels … and production is on it’s way I guess as official dealers have already received a manual on the LP700-4 with all possible options and shades. So my guess is that the first orders are already in, I wouldn’t be surprised if by the time the public gets to see the actual car in Geneva in early March the production run for the rest of the year is already sold out.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 has been on the rumor mill for months now (of not years) so people have been putting their orders on hold for a new Lamborghini, production of the Murciélago has been halted months ago and the production line in Sant’Agata is ready to build the new model.

Several prototypes have been seen testing on the track and open road, recently we’ve even seen a video showing no less than two camouflaged cars on the open road, probably on durability testing in normal traffic, not everything can be found out on a closed track, so eventually even this new Lamborghini has been spotted in plain view.

One German based seller even lists the car online for purchase … probably nothing more than a marketing stunt, but still it shows that this new Lamborghini is highly anticipated by the public, among them several possible owners, so I’m sure the order book is filling up for this brand new model that will shape the super car market for at least the next decade, the competition will have to catch up again with the new Aventador.

The near final LP700-4 Aventador has been shown to VIP’s on invitation only, and they all agree this is the best Lamborghini for a long time, those that have been fortunate enough to be able to get a seat behind the steering wheel rave about the ergonomics of the new V12, she drives like a race car but still comfortable enough to take on a long trip.

Whatever the result will be that gets shown in Geneva, I’m sure we’ll get a ‘love it or hate it’ sensation, the same thing happened when the Murciélago took over from the Diablo … a totally different car, but still very much a Lamborghini. The same will be true for the Aventador, people don’t like change and start comparing the new car with the model it succeeds … and they are bound to find things they don’t like … but rest assured : the Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador will rock the super car market much like the Miura did back in the Sixties and the Countach in the Seventies … this will be another milestone in the history of Automobili Lamborghini SpA.
