There is also the limited edition PD-Edition kit for the Gallardo, only 50 of these aerodynamic kits will be built, and they totally transform the exterior of the V10 models built between 2003 and 2008, those are the original 5.0 versions (both coupé and spyder) before the LP560-4 took over with the modified bumpers, headlights, and taillights.

The Prior Design Edition aerodynamic kit comes with a new front bumper (€ 3,490) that completely replaces the original unit and shows Veneno inspired styling for the large air intakes, a set of side sill fins (€990) with a small vertical upright behind the front wheel, side sill addons (€1,190) that look a bit like the intakes on the side of the Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce ahead of the rear wheel, while a new rear bumper (€2,900) took inspiration from the final evolution on the Gallardo LP560-4 with those typical, triangular air vents.

For the side air intakes on the Lamborghini Gallardo you can add inserts (€590) that mimic the ones seen on the V12 Aventador model, if you really want to transform the looks of your Gallardo you can add the optional front bonnet be Prior Design (€3,990) that shows the dual air vent design seen on the Veneno.

All parts in the Prior Design Edition kit are made from a Fiberglass-Duraflex mix that gives a smooth finish combined with enough flexibility while still being stable enough for high speeds, installing these parts can be fitted without modifications to keep costs down.

Prior Design offers a special exhaust made from 1.4828 (T309) stainless steel with a programmable control unit, even with remote control, however, this exhaust might not be street legal in your country, so make sure to check this first before installing it. The system controls opening and closing of exhaust valves beyond the regular exhaust system.

When it comes to wheels, Prior Design offers a series of 20-inch forged units in various designs, 9×20 up front and 10.5×20 for the rear, but the customer can also go for a different make and model naturally, add a suspension kit from Prior to lower the Gallardo to the ground.

The number of tuners that have aerodynamic parts available for the Lamborghini Gallardo has been growing ever since the model was introduced in 2003, and now we have a German based company to add to this list … xXx Performance located in Bochum created a very impressive demo car with a wide body conversion wrapped in a stunning black chrome vinyl.

Adrian Bomba from xXx Performance took a 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo and installed four, round wheel arch extensions to create this wide body version, a nice custom side sill connects the front and rear fenders perfectly while a widened lower, rear diffuser was added too, now housing not two but four exhaust tips from the xXx Performance sport exhaust … complete with Bluetooth remote control.

At the rear we also find a clear carbon fiber and glass engine cover with a rear wing in the same lightweight material … or should that be Superleggera, as both of these items look identical to the ones Lamborghini installed on the special Gallardo Superleggera … even the carbon fiber rear view mirrors remind us of this lightweight V10.

And that’s not all that has been taken from the Lamborghini parts department … take a look at the front bumper, this is now the more recent LP560-4 version with the more aggressively styled air intakes and the center ‘sword’ that we would also see on the Aventador and Huracán later on. In fact xXx Performance also replaced the original 2005 taillights with the more recent LP560-4 units with those well-known, triple Y shaped LED lights.

Massive 20 inch wheels from mbDesign in an exclusive KV1 Deep Concave design are fitted, 9×20 inch up front and 12×20 inch at the rear, wearing 235/30R20 and 305/25R20 from Hankook respectively (do note that during the 2013 Essen Motor Show one side of this car was fitted with Oxigen wheels and Vredestein Giugiura tires) … the fact that those massive wheels are set so deeply into the wide fenders is thanks to a G-Ride air suspension kit built specifically for xXx Performance and combined with adjustable KW dampers.

Inside a beautiful black leather upholstery has been installed, featuring some white painted details to comply with the contrasting white stitching on the seats and door panels, which show a very nice Q-Citura inspired stitching pattern … also note that the doors are now LSD units … Lamborghini Style Doors that open upward like on the V12 flagship models.

With the impressive, low riding, wide body looks the original V10 engine couldn’t be overlooked, so xXx Performance modified the ECU programming, added their own exhaust system and installed BMC carbon fiber air boxes … the result is an increased power output of 560hp, if you feel that just isn’t enough for you xXx Performance offers three stages of Twin Turbo charging … pumping output to either 850hp or a thundering 1,200hp.

That’s right, the predecessor to the Lamborghini Huracan isn’t bound to be forgotten if Kato-san can help it, and with a total of 14,022 Gallardo having been built in Italy the market for a wide body LB Works kit is larger than any other Lamborghini kit they offer (about 4,000 Murcielago, over 4,000 Aventador and over 3,200 Huracan up to date) … so an LB Works Gallardo makes perfect sense for an artisan like Kato-san.

The LB Works Gallardo by LB Performance comes as a complete kit at $23,000 according to a price list on the Liberty Walk Japanese website, with a new front bumper, front diffuser, side sills, rear diffuser, version 3 rear wing and naturally four wide fenders … no painting, no mounting included, and I think installing those wide fenders will once again require some cutting into the original wheel arches, and that’s an action you shouldn’t take lightly if you don’t have a workshop with competent people.

The Liberty Walk website also lists the parts of the kit separately … albeit the four wide fenders aren’t listed as a stand-alone part, perhaps you can’t order these outside of the entire LB Works kit:

The very special Airrex air ride suspension kit for the Lamborghini Gallardo is listed at $7,900, but really a must-have to get the look Kato-san has envisioned for the LB Works Gallardo, low and wide.

At the moment there are only 3D digital renders available for this wide body Gallardo kit, and while it surely isn’t the first ‘wide’ Gallardo version (IMSA took that honor with their Gallardo GTV and Hamann created the Gallardo Victory and Victory II) this LB Works Gallardo is one of the most aggressive looking, especially with that massive race inspired rear wing.

Now LB Performance does list three types of rear wing on their Gallardo kit, so I guess one of these will be that special ‘Duck’ tail seen on the Huracan and Ferrari 458 versions from LB Works … which do look amazing if you ask me.

So if you own one of those 14,022 Gallardo that left the factory doors between 2003 and 2014 you might be interested into converting her into an LB Works Gallardo …

Reiter prepared Lamborghini race cars are competing in Europe, America and Asia with almost 100 customers behind the wheel of these Raging Bulls and now the next evolution in V10 race cars has been unveiled … the brand new Reiter Gallerdo Extenso, in short the R-EX … taking the previous Gallardo GT3 FL2 into an extreme width of 2050cm in total.

Being wider than the previous Reiter GT3 Bull this new R-EX is only just within the regulations for the 2015 season where the Reiter Gallardo Extenso will be seen in the Blancpain GT Series, the US Pirelli World Challenge and the SRO GT Sports Club races.

At the rear the original aluminum panels are replaced with wider carbon fiber quarter panels while the rear axle receives 13cm longer wishbones to achieve significantly improved handling besides looking great … power comes from using race camshafts and Mahle pistons that reduce fuel consumption and increase reliability … keep in mind that every single Reiter developed Gallardo engine has been completely undamaged since 2012 … for a race engine that is indeed a very impressive feat.

The Reiter Gallardo Extenso not only boasts a wider rear section and more power, the exhaust note is very impressive to suit the aggressive looks of this new Racing Bull, note that Reiter also installs new headlights, new taillights and a full carbon fiber rear section reminding us of the legendary Reiter Murciélago R-SV GT1 … the most impressive V12 race car if you ask me.

When Hans Reiter is asked about the new Huracan and why he still decided to develop the Gallardo further the answer was simple and logical … There are already over 100 Reiter prepared Lamborghini race cars that left the workshop in Kirchanschoering, Bavaria with over 200 victories and over 400 podium finishes, which means the Gallardo is an extremely solid base for GT3 racing … in 2015 and beyond in fact, Hans stated “In a similar way to the aviation industry, we build on affordable evolutionary steps in the car development and forgo revolutionary changes. Reliability and longevity have absolute priority. Since 2012 every Reiter developed Gallardo engine is completely undamaged!”

Reiter Engineering remains the exclusive and official Lamborghini partner for the Gallardo GT3 and for its development and production. “For me it is of great importance to maintain and justify the trust that we have enjoyed from Lamborghini for 14 years now,” comments Hans Reiter on the communiqué. “As we expect several new race cars for the end of 2015 and a corresponding increase in competition with greater performance, we already managed to take up the challenge. With the new REITER Gallardo EXTENSO – short R-EX – our customers will be attuned to the future performance level early in 2015, but also knows that they have received a proven and reliable product.”

Only 10 units of the Reiter Gallardo Extenso – R-EX will be built, each priced at €248,000 which includes the 24h kit and finished in either clear carbon fiber or titanium grey … the ‘Carbon-Black’ car will still have aluminum doors and roof, but the rest of the body will be kept in clear carbon fiber while the ‘Titanium-Grey’ car will feature a shade to emphasize the military look of this Raging Bull.

Do keep in mind the modifications weren’t only cosmetic, the engine was modified complete with a new, bespoke exhaust system that resulted in a power output of 600hp while this also required the brakes to be updated naturally … larger diameter disks with 8 piston calipers up front and 6 piston calipers at the rear meant this Raging Bull could stop almost quicker than she accelerated.

In fact during one of the first drives on public roads they had to do a full stop which almost caused the car behind to rear end them … and that was a standard Gallardo … so stopping power on the IMSA tuned model was massively improved.

Custom made central locking wheels with double spokes cover the uprated brake system while a fully adjustable suspension and custom seats in Alcantara upholstery and lots of carbon fiber in the cockpit completed the looks of the IMSA Gallardo GTV wide body conversion.

In late 2008 Lamborghini released an evolution of the initial Gallardo 5.2 model, called the LP560-4 not only the engine output was increased from 520hp to 560hp but also the styling was changed … which caused IMSA to release an updated GTV kit to fit onto the new V10 model.

This new IMSA Gallardo LP560 GTV retained the massively wide fender additions at the front and rear together with the deep front spoiler, side skirts and lower rear diffuser … a nice rear wing completed the outside package. The massive wheels measure 9J x 20 (with 245/30 ZR20 sized tires) up front and 12,5J x 20 (with 325/25 ZR20 sized tires) at the rear and still get the central locking mechanism for that race feeling.

Power output on the Gallardo LP560 GTV was raised to a more comfortable 590hp, which is only a 30hp increase to avoid any reliability issues with this Italian made V10 engine, keep in mind we were talking about a brand new car here that was still under factory warranty when IMSA modified it.

Fast forward to late 2012 when IMSA shows a slightly modified Gallardo LP560 at the Hankook stand during the Essen Motor Show, they call her the GTV-R … the R probably refers to the more aggressive, clear carbon fiber rear wing installed on this evolution. Other updates are visible on the exterior rear view mirrors that receive a beautiful glossy carbon fiber finish, which contrasts ever so nicely with the bright white exterior of this show car and the addition of stylish carbon fiber side fins under the wide sills.

Add the gold finished central spiders on the wheels with their highly polished rim and carbon fiber lower rear diffuser and this wide body Gallardo looks really impressive … I actually wonder if IMSA GmbH is considering a similar treatment for the new Lamborghini Huracan … just imagine a wide body Huracan LP610 GTV, that would be some nice competition for LB Performance I guess.

Fast forward to March 2014 when Suhorovsky Design announced the world premiere of their new Gallardo body kit during the Krakow Moto Show … which is in fact an evolution of the SE700 by Boxter … the name has been changed but the very impressive looks remain.

Original Aventador wheels in 19 and 20 inch size are mounted on this Gallardo SR66-2 while the rear lower diffuser looks like an almost exact replica of the Aventador unit too, however the taillights remain LP560 units, similar with the headlight units, these are also sourced from the more recent Gallardo evolution.

A deep front bumper with large air intakes and additional vents on the side complete the restyle on the Gallardo SR66-2, there is also a carbon fiber lip underneath the bumper while the modified front hood shows a series of ‘faux vents’ that actually reminds me of the Mansory Aventador … and in fact if you take a look at the doors of the Gallardo SR66-2 you notice a ‘crease’ that seems to be inspired but the latest Mansory kit for the Aventador too.

In case of the Gallardo SR66-2 the door panel flows into a large side air intake styled to Aventador looks with an air vent ahead of the rear wheels too, around the back the rear fascia gets Aventador styling too with those two large air vents while a stylish black, fixed rear wing found a spot on this SR66-2 too behind the glass engine cover.

It is obvious a lot of work went into creating the Gallardo SR66-2, the finish and fitment of these elaborate parts are really nice up close, it sure does transform the original Lamborghini Gallardo into something more impressive … judging from the reactions on the various forums online it is however a love it or hate it design … no matter if you like the entire package or not, this is a very impressive looking car nonetheless.

In early April 2014 Aspec unveiled two show cars, one based on the Porsche called PPP430 and a second one using the Lamborghini Gallardo as a basis using a total of 27 pieces made from carbon fiber or Kevlar to create a stylish, modern interpretation of the first Lamborghini V10 model that has recently been succeeded by the stunning Huracán LP610-4.

At the front the Aspec PPL600 shows a new bumper that completely replaces the original Lamborghini one, featuring large air intakes and additional fins … all in a nice clear carbon fiber finish naturally, even the front hood is a replacement piece as the front ‘line’ has been modernized to the looks of both the Aventador and the Huracán … additional carbon fiber fins on two air vents complete the new hood.

On the side we notice a wide air vent just in front of the rear wheels ‘hovering’ above a nice carbon fiber side sill … but looking closer you’ll also see a wider front wheel arch vent that complements the new air outlet behind the rear wheel perfectly … and best of all these are all fully functional, not only for looks.

At the rear a new, deep lower diffuser is mounted with several vertical fins for added stability while the entire rear panel gets a more open feel by using a Sesto Elemento/Veneno style center piece with triangular openings. Under the taillights two carbon fiber vents are used, above these LED lights Aspec mounts a nice ‘duck tail’ wing, note the center part of this rear wing is still adjustable for more down force at speed … again form and function combined together to create an amazing look.

A special wing mounted at the back of the roof is a detail not often seen on Lamborghini Gallardo tuning, but Aspec just had to get this extra touch on the exterior of their PPL600 package while a quad exhaust system is shown on this specific car featuring a smart valve system to allow different air flow for the exhaust fumes …

One other very interesting feature on this Aspec PPL600 are the wheels, these are called Aspec VF60 three-piece forged units and come in large 20-inch size … but I can’t shed the feeling they look very close to the standard wheels on the new Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 where these are called Giano, Aspec calls them ‘an echo of the Diablo rings design’.

For the inside Aspec turned to Recaro and installed a couple of TSG Alcantara racing seats and a large LCD shows the controls for the Aspec Ideas (Intelligent Dynamic Exhaust Acoustic System) … that’s right, if you drive in the city you are not too pleased with the deep thundering sound of the exhaust you can change it at the touch of a button … switching between Comfort, Sport and Track will change the valve setting in the exhaust system … not only does this control sound, but depending on the position of the throttle the valves can open further automatically … thus increasing not only the sound equilibrium but also performance up to 600hp.

When Velos Designwerks teamed up with FiveNine Design to build a very special 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 the outcome was really amazing … the owner of this V10 Bull went for a set of Velos S1 Signature wheels, these forged units measure 8.5×19 and 11×19 inch respectively at the front and the rear … rubber comes from a set of Toyo 888 tires, 235/35 19 and 305/30 19 front to rear.

Keep in mind the Toyo 888 are in fact street legal competition tires, they are ideal for track days and street races during events on closed sections … these mean business, and the fact the owner of this car intends to have renowned Heffner Performance install a twin turbo on top of the 560 bhp V10 engine only confirms this … with power around the 1000bhp marque I’m sure these Toyo 888 are the perfect choice.

Personally I really like the special matte grey wrap on this Gallardo LP560-4, called ‘Combat Grey’ it has been applied by 201 Wrap located in Jacksonville, FL … that’s why I called it the Gallardo Street Fighter in the heading … this finish makes this late model, triangular front bumper and rear fascia look good.

Inside this grey Gallardo LP560-4 received black leather contrasted with amazing looking red stitching … and more importantly the absolutely beautiful Q-Citura option, the ‘quilted’ look on the seats and door panels … I for one love that stitching, and with red on black it only makes the overall package even more beautiful.

The first photos of a beautiful dark blue metallic Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-5 with the Vorsteiner Renazzo ‘front fascia replacement’ have recently been published as a teaser, they show a very innovative design finished in a 2×2 carbon fiber weave center section while the sides are color coded to the rest of the bodywork, later on Vorsteiner published an entire series showcasing this very intricate design.

The really interesting feature of the Renazzo-V front bumper are the two vertical fins on either side, these are taller then the ones seen on the Lamborghini Aventador J and actually look closer like the fins on the limited edition Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversary … however on the latter one the top of the fins bend back into the front bumper while on this Renazzo version the fins stay upright all the way.

Also the center section of the Vorsteiner Renazzo front bumper shows a very angular design with a far forward protruding middle fin and replacement honeycomb mesh for the massive intakes … it might not really look identical to the original 3D renders made a year ago, but in real life it does look very impressive nonetheless.

Inspiration for this innovative design came from the Super Trofeo race car according to Vorsteiner, but I guess that doesn’t apply to the vertical fins but more to the impressive side sills and rear lower diffuser that is still on the drawing board.

With the production of the Gallardo being halted recently at 14,022 units the market for styling and tuning parts for this most successful Lamborghini ever is certainly large enough to add another aerodynamic kit, especially from a company like Vorsteiner.

I can’t wait for them to complete the rest of the parts that should become available in the Renazzo V package, taking a look at the rear render the side sills, rear wing and lower diffuser sure look very interesting too.

Only a few days after the official unveil at the 2013 Sema show in Las Vegas we received photos of a magnificent looking matte grey Lamborghini Aventador with a complete PUR Aero kit (the styling division of PUR) and rolling on these beautiful RS05 wheels … the overall package looked really, really good I have to admit.

Now we can show you the PUR RS05 wheel on a bright white Lamborghini Gallardo … and not just any Gallardo, this is in fact the 2013 edition of the LP560-4 … you know, the one with the new, triangular styling used for the front bumper and rear fascia … you either love it or hate it … at first glance you might wonder how you feel about it, but this design does grow on you, and I have to say this one looks hot.

SR Auto Group created this white Bull, opting for a high gloss chrome finish on the RS05 PUR Wheels, 8.5×20 inch up front and 11×20 inch at the rear, looking at the photos it looks like the suspension was lowered a bit too, especially at the front where the tire is nearly touching the fender … also note the contrasting, orange painted brake calipers visible behind these wheels.

At the rear we find a very aggressive, race inspired rear wing in clear carbon fiber … it looks like a Murciélago Super Veloce rear wing with vertical fins added on either side … on the side of this Gallardo we found a TriColore stripe design that reminds us of the final Gallardo evolution made, the LP570-4 Squadra Corse.

Upon closer inspection we also found a purely cosmetic decal on the front hood … they look like the air vents first seen on the Sesto Elemento and later used for the 2013 specs Blancpain Super Trofeo race car … in fact IMS Automotive Design offers a replacement front hood that shows carbon sections here, but in this case it looks like the owner settled for a black decal only … still looks nice however.

The Lamborghini Gallardo Boxter Car Design shows a complete restyle of the original V10 model from Sant’Agata, Boxter calls it the SE700 and a lot of the styling can be traced back to the current Lamborghini flagship, the Aventador LP700-4.

However Boxter didn’t create an Aventador replica on their Gallardo, but instead took the styling from the V12 model and altered it to look good on the smaller V10 Bull … I guess you either love it or hate it, but you have to admit the work that went into creating the Gallardo SE700 must have been enormous.

Up front the entire front bumper is replaced with a new unit, showing a similar, triangular section above the Raging Bull crest, just like on the Aventador. While the front is angled in the same way the air intakes are different, with a dual look black fin on the side and lower fins underneath both inlets while the side of this new front bumpers shows air vents … just above these side mounted outlets a crease begins that runs straight into the front fenders that are in fact 6cm wider than the original units.

Both the front bumper and the front fenders totally replace the original Gallardo units by the way while a new front hood shows some intricate design to mimic vents and wraps around the more recent LP560-4 headlight units (this specific Gallardo was a 2006 model with the larger headlights).

Back to the sides where we encounter a black section just behind the front wheels that proudly wears the Boxter crest while special panels on top of the original Gallardo door introduce another crease line running into the larger air intake in front of the rear wheels … this door panel also widens into an impressive rear fender holding a massive Aventador style air inlet.

Boxter also mounted an air vent in front of the rear wheel, styled similar to the Aventador vent but still different enough to notice, also the side skirt is not the same one as seen on the V12 model … but it does remind us of it … instead of the usual Superleggera decal on the door Boxter went for a more related ‘Car Design’ and ‘Boxter’ script on the door running into the wide intake.

Note the entire rear fender is also a lot wider than the factory original Gallardo unit, it runs straight into a completely new rear panel/bumper section … again it looks like the Aventador styling but it still shows various differences to make it unique. The lower rear diffuser does in fact look like an Aventador replica … and the special exhaust tip that holds four round exhaust pipes is in fact an original Aventador unit.

Boxter installs a matte black rear wing on ‘open’ struts, the design flows in perfect harmony with the new rear section which at this time holds Gallardo LP560 taillights … but the owner intends to replace these with factory original Aventador units … might be expensive, but it will transform the look at the back of this Gallardo SE700 completely.

This Gallardo SE700 Boxter is actually rolling on genuine Lamborghini Aventador Iperione wheels … these aren’t replica wheels, they are the real deal … fitted with Michelin tires at the rear in massive 325mm wide Boxter did have to install spacers on the Gallardo axle to move them in the right position inside the new, much wider rear fender.

Now you might wonder why Boxter calls this the Gallardo SE700 … simple, because the V10 now delivers 700hp thanks to engine tuning, so not only does this V10 try to mimic the Aventador LP700-4 … she delivers the same amount of power too.

So how about pricing? If you bring your Gallardo to the Boxter workshop in Poland … or London … or Stuttgart (there are three authorized installation facilities) you can drive away in a completely finished Gallardo SE700 wearing the full Boxter aerodynamic kit (front bumper, front hood, front fenders, door panels, side skirts, rear fenders, rear fascia, lower rear diffuser, rear wing, Aventador Iperione wheels and the Aventador exhaust tip) note the engine tuning up to 700hp is not included in this price … however spray painting and installation is … all for €45,000.

Released in 2003 the angular design of the Gallardo and the impressive driving experience quickly made this ‘entry level’ Lamborghini very popular, the subsequent evolutions like the Superleggera and the restyle and increased performance of the LP560-4 and LP570-4 editions only made the overall package even better.

Today the early Gallardo models can be found for very reasonable prices, and if you would like to make the 5.0 V10 look more contemporary you’ll be able to turn to several tuning companies that offer just the right thing for you … however one of the best looking conversions for the classic Gallardo comes from IMS Automotive Design, founded in 2008 they have been creating modern style aerodynamic kits that will turn any Lamborghini Gallardo in a true eye-catching beauty.

You can install an LP560 style front bumper to the early V10 model that will instantly make it look more modern, have the engine surrounded by clear carbon fiber panels, mount that stunning Superleggera high rear wing on the deck or go for a Murciélago SV style rear wing on the V10 … you can even have the special LP570-4 Superleggera front bumper installed on the 2003 Gallardo.

To make the back of your early Gallardo look better you can add a Superleggera style lower diffuser to the rear wing … and have a quad tip exhaust installed … personally that would be second on my list if I would modify my own V10 … taking pole position on my order list just has to be the absolutely stunning GST front bumper.

Upon first glance you might think the GST front bumper is just another LP570-4 Superleggera replica … but it isn’t! Take a close look and you will notice the air vents on the side are much larger and the lower fins on the corners are more like the ones seen on the Murciélago Super Veloce, have them painted in matte black and they turn the Gallardo into a very aggressive looking Bull, ready to stampede over anything in its path.

The owner of the red Lamborghini Gallardo opted to keep the entire GST front bumper color coded to the rest of the Rosso bodywork, have a carbon fiber Superleggera style side skirt installed, carbon fiber rear wing complete with lower rear diffuser and a glass engine cover … the GST decal on the doors is just the icing on the cake here … Gallardo Super Trofeo by the way.

With a car looking like this the next step are wheels, and you have to admit … third party wheels can either make or break a good looking car … the D2 Forged wheels on this dual five spoke design work really well on the Gallardo, these are 20 inch D2Forged MB8 wheels in fact, 9 inch wide Shallow Concave up front with even more impressive 12 inch wide Deep Concave at the back, finished in Suzuka Gray with a high polished flange and full clear coat for that deep shine and to add some protection.

Even if this car might be over 10 years old, it still looks gorgeous today, and I’m sure it will keep turning heads when it passes by … the Lamborghini Gallardo has become a classic in its own time, and IMS Automotive Design together with D2Forged Wheels made this one into something really special.

The people at SR Auto Group, who created the Project Limitless, as this specific Bull is called, have taken it to the next level by installing yet another set of PUR Wheels.

This time the TEN design has been replaced by classic PUR 1NE units featuring a double five spoke design, perhaps not as deep concave as I would prefer but still in a nice 8.5×19 inch up front and wide 11×19 inch at the rear these sure don’t look too bad, add a set of Yokohama Advan Neova tires and you are looking at a near perfect match.

But the hot trend at the moment is bright shade … so for this installation PUR Wheels and SR Auto Group took an innovative decision, these wheels are painted in Giallo Tenerife … yes, that is a bright yellow shade that is also used on the New Gallardo LP560-4 as seen in Paris last year.

I was just trying to get used to the bright red wheels a few weeks ago … and now they serve us with an even wilder shade … bright yellow wheels under a dark grey bodywork … let’s just say it is different, and will get you noticed in a crowd.

Using the brand new LP560-4 model with the modified front and rear sections as seen at the 2012 Paris Auto Show, the new Gallardo GT3 car takes some development and styling hints from the factory original 2013 Super Trofeo race car, especially the triangular air vents in front of the windshield similar to the ones seen on the limited edition Sesto Elemento are used.

Automobili Lamborghini SpA has been building legendary models ever since the late Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company back in 1963 … first up were some of the best GT cars the world had ever seen in that era, the 350GT is still widely acclaimed as one of the best looking V12 Gran Turismo cars while the Espada was a masterpiece from the Seventies … luxury and speed for four people in a low slung styling that was simply amazing.

However the big surprise came with the Lamborghini Miura, a super exotic car that had the massive V12 engine mounted transversely behind the back of the driver and passenger with styling that still amazes onlookers 40 years later. Succeeded by the magnificent Countach that introduced the by now typical upward opening doors concept onto the world of Lamborghini cars, angular styling that looked like an alien space ship in the late Seventies and Eighties. The Diablo took over the reign in the Nineties with some amazing cars like the Diablo SE30 and the Diablo SV, later succeeded by the even more menacing Diablo GT model … the latter two were also part of the first attempt at a monomarque racing series with the Diablo SV-R and the Diablo GT-R.

The 21st century was a major turning point for Lamborghini, being acquired by Audi AG could have been a bad idea but it turned out really good, with the new funds a brand new Bull was created in the form of the Murciélago that was unveiled in late 2001, but at that time Lamborghini had no intention of developing a race version so world renowned Reiter Engineering GmbH took on the task of developing the Murciélago R-GT in 2003 that would later evolve into the Murciélago R-SV in 2009 for the 2010 FIA GT World Championship.

In fact Reiter Engineering had been developing Lamborghini GT cars on their own since 2000, with the stunning black Diablo GTR-S being one of them, in fact Reiter Engineering has been the main manufacturer of racing cars for Lamborghini since 2000, their race variants have been supplied to both the Reiter Racing team and other competitors. Since 2007 Reiter Engineering built Lamborghini GT cars have secured 199 victories and 350 podium positions in GT Championships … Reiter Engineering has a development structure and a racing team to be reckoned with.

Actually when Lamborghini came out with the successful V10 Gallardo model it didn’t take Reiter Engineering too long to create a full-blown GT3 edition based on the ‘baby Lambo’ as the Gallardo is sometimes called. At first using the original 5.0 liter Gallardo to be turned into a GT3-R model, later on Reiter Engineering took on the then new LP560-4 model to create the LP560 GT3 race car that has evolved into the LP600+ GT3 car used during the 2012 season … at a certain point Reiter Engineering even had an LP560 built to GT2 specs.

For both the 2013 Blancpain Endurance Series and the 2013 FIA GT Series we’ll be seeing a Gallardo GT3 that has been developed with full support from Automobili Lamborghini’s motorsport R&D team … in fact Lamborghini put together an in-house department dedicated to motorsport only called the Squadra Corse that will oversee both driving and racing programs for Lamborghini.

So we have Reiter Engineering GmbH with all their Lamborghini GT racing experience that led to outstanding results over the years joining forces with Lamborghini R&D engineers offering their full expertise of high performance road cars … with one objective in mind: ‘bring the unique road prowess of Automobili Lamborghini’s super sport cars to the track’.

Back in January the only thing we could admire were a few virtual 3D renders featuring a red car, and despite not showing the real car these mockup looked absolutely amazing, especially the front spoiler with the vertical sections much like the ones seen on the Aventador J …

Unfortunately that very special design front splitter didn’t make it into production as we see a totally different front on the actual 2013 Gallardo GT3 FL2 production race car as it can be delivered to possible customers all over the world.

While using the new 2013 Gallardo model as a basis, the GT3 Squadra Corse evolution is focused long-distance performance with reduced fuel consumption compared to the 2012 LP600+ GT3 car, but also improved engine cooling and a special ’24-hour’ brake system.

Additional differences between the production version and the early 3D render can also be found at the rear the section, where the vertical wings on the sides are gone but the beautiful looking Reiter developed rear wing and slotted engine cover as used on the 2012 LP600+ GT3 return on the 2013 Gallardo GT3 FL2 Squadra Corse. The rear wing is a high downforce carbon fiber, fully adjustable unit while the front splitter is made of the same carbon fiber material and features double under floor diffusers, the lower diffuser at the rear is also made of carbon fiber in case you were wondering.

Also note the ‘speed wizards’ at Reiter Engineering managed to remove an additional 25kg from the Gallardo to improve the power to weight performance even further, in fact the 2013 Gallardo GT3 FL2 has exceptional low running costs … only €9/km to €12/km parts rebuild costs.

Some specs on the 2013 Gallardo GT3 FL2 or Squadra Corse as it is called in the leaflet state a power output of over 600hp at 8000 rpm, lightweight motorsport specification wiring and connectors, electronic power management system and a membrane type switch panel combined with a 2D data logger digital dash with large, totally configurable racing display, the quad exhaust pipes found on the street legal Gallardo have been replaced by a Reiter Engineering racing spec exhaust that shows two exit tips higher up between the taillights.

The lightweight carbon fiber body panels cover a chassis in lightweight, structural aluminum space frame, based on aluminum extruded parts welded to aluminum caster joint elements with structural reinforcements at suspension pick up points, inside we find a FIA approved safety roll cage and the car is fitted with Makrolon safety windows.

The suspension consists of a Reiter Engineering double wishbone front and rear setup, quick adjustable anti-roll bar, anti-dive and anti squat, Öhlins 3 way adjustable racing shocks and machined aluminum uprights based on GT1 parts.

To keep the interior cool during a race we find a roof mounted air scoop while the seat made from carbon Kevlar can be ordered in two versions … one designed for small drivers, the second specifically for taller drivers.

Base price for the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2 has been set at €320,000 (ex VAT) from which a down payment of €70,000 is required when you order the car, a second payment is asked for when actual production starts (€130,000) with the final payment due upon delivery, which happens about 8 weeks after reception of the first payment … Reiter Engineering does recommend a ‘Spare Parts Kit’ for professional teams at about €74,000 … so give or take a few thousand Euro you are in for about €400,000 if you decided to buy the 2013 Gallardo GT3 FL2 Squadra Corse race car.

But what if the exclusive Super Trofeo Stradale just isn’t extreme enough for you? In that case you have two options … you either pay a visit to Reiter Engineering and have the team of Hans Reiter install their Strada kit on your Gallardo, be it an LP560-4 or an LP560-4 Spyder. Or you opt for this latest package unveiled by German based RENM Performance which takes the factory original Super Trofeo Stradale to a totally different level … both in looks and in power output.

We’ve learned about RENM Performance back in July 2012 when they showed some 3D renderings on an Aventador LE-C … full name the RENM Performance Aventador Limited Edition Corsa, a design concept that took the styling of the Aventador J that was unveiled by Lamborghini in March 2012 on the Geneva Auto Show as a one-off super exotic barchetta model … the RENM Aventador LE-C received a magnificent front bumper, massive side skirts and a totally different rear section that all looked closely based on the Lamborghini Aventador J model … right up to today I haven’t seen any photos of an actual completed Aventador LE-C …

Back to the Gallardo model now, this model has been finished and we’ve even seen a video showcasing this RENM Performance Gallardo STS-700, which in fact is an extensive package created by RENM Performance to raise the performance and dynamics of a factory original Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale to a totally new level.

The first thing you notice about this car is the body kit, made entirely from carbon fiber it includes a new front bumper, massive side skirts, a big rear diffuser and modified struts for the original rear wing that raise it higher up in the air … this body kit makes the Super Trofeo Stradale look almost identical to the pre-2013 Blancpain Super Trofeo race car.

Add to this a modified suspension that lowers the car even further to the ground, special lightweight racing wheels made from magnesium and wearing semi-slick racing tires covering carbon ceramic disk brakes and you end up with a setup that is very close to an actual race car … but which still is fully street legal.

Perhaps less eye-catching are the modifications to the 570hp V10 engine found underneath the great looking, quick release engine cover … including titanium connecting rods, custom billet pistons, crankshafts and camshafts, big bore titanium inlets, exhaust valves and ports. The combustion chambers and exhaust manifolds are also enlarged and receive additional fuel injectors while the cooling for both oil and water are upgraded too … add a valve controlled titanium exhaust system that actively decreases back pressure and offers improved air flow together with a weight decrease of 19kgs and you end up with a V10 engine pumping out a healthy 700 PS at 8,500rpm.

This power increase translates into very impressive performance figures … a 0 to 100Km/h acceleration is now measured at 3.2 seconds while the top speed is well over 330Km/h according to Neil Meka, CEO of RENM Performance … safe to say this STS-700 will be able to keep up with an Aventador LP700-4 in just about any condition it encounters.

With all that extra power and track dynamics available it would be very unwise not to bring the braking system up to specs, so RENM performance installed modified carbon ceramic disks with higher friction pads. A lower weight in rotating mass is a nice side effect of this new kit, add modified cooling chambers and air intakes and there is almost no brake fading left. Furthermore the track has been widened and Ohlins three-way adjustable dampers are mounted which are perfect for both track and road use, a fully adjustable anti-roll bar is present up front while still fully compatible with the OEM front ride height adjustment.

The outside of this RENM Performance STS-700 is still finished in the bright Rosso Mars shade first seen on the Super Trofeo Stradale, again combined with matte black … a combination that is also present inside this Raging Bull, red and black Alcantara upholstery is found on the lightweight seats, complete with a four point seat belt system fixed onto a customized roll cage.

If you are looking into adding this car to your collection … you’re too late, it is already sold to a Brazilian based enthusiast which really likes the dramatically improved driving experience as a result from the high-grade performance upgrades … but I’m sure you’ll be able to convince RENM Performance to create another one …

This lightweight received some special body parts in carbon fiber, an optional clear carbon fiber rear wing and a stunning glass engine cover combined with amazing looking Scorpius wheels made the exterior look really impressive … and then you open the door to admire a clear carbon fiber door panel and a central console in the same material with Alcantara clad racing seats with … yes, a carbon fiber back and stylish ‘Superleggera’ script on the sides … and optionally available four point seat belts that could be fit to another option … a rear tubular frame.

So it was clear from the start the Gallardo Superleggera was something special, a very good base to tune into a street racer like the matte black model featured here, which might take a second look to figure out completely as it isn’t looking factory standard anymore.

The first thing you notice is the front … it looks like the 2010 LP570-4 Superleggera because of the new style front bumper that has been mounted, a very popular move these days to get your aging Gallardo looking more contemporary, many owners are mounting either the LP560-4 or the LP570-4 Superleggera unit (or a replica) on their pre 2008 V10 Bulls these days … still the original headlights are a clear giveaway.

Replacing the headlights would also mean a different front hood, and I’m not too sure the wiring wouldn’t need changing, so we don’t see too many pre 2008 Gallardo models that also received the LP560-4 headlights, but they do exist … just like some owners go through even more trouble and replace the rear section to put the later model taillights in place and install a quad tip exhaust system to make their classic Gallardo look like a much younger model.

But the owner of this matte black Gallardo Superleggera went a totally different route, sure he installed a more recent front bumper, but was it for the looks or because the original one got damaged? It would make perfect sense to replace a ruined front with an OEM version of a later model I think, on the other hand the owner did install the high riding rear wing seen on the Super Trofeo Stradale limited edition, instead of the classic red tips this car features bright green on the end plates of this rear wing, the same shade we encounter on the brake calipers.

While we’re admiring these brakes you can’t but notice some of the most beautiful custom wheels for the Lamborghini, made by renowned ADV.1 these are the ADV05.1 SL units in massive 20×9 inch and  20×12 inch at the front and rear, finished in a fashionable matte black powder coating they fit perfectly on this V10 bull in the same matte black finish … these days available as Nero Nemesis straight from the factory, but on the 2007 Gallardo Superleggera this color wasn’t possible.

Also note the decal on the lower section of the doors, the Gallardo Superleggera already had a similar stripe, but this one comes from the later LP570-4 edition, it features the Italian TriColore at the top … do note the owner had the Superleggera script on the door color coded green, to get in line with the rear wing and the brake calipers.

The Gallardo Superleggera receives some really nice, Alcantara covered seats when it leaves the assembly line in Sant’Agata, these have a carbon fiber back and usually come with four-point seat belts as mentioned earlier … still the owner of this specific car wanted to remove even more weight from his Raging Bull so he installed full carbon fiber seat shells … that’s right, there is no padding in sight here, now you don’t buy a Gallardo Superleggera for the comfort on long drives, but I still assume he will put some kind of padding or cover over those seats when driving on the open road.

The matte black finish with the more recent front bumper, the green details on the new Super Trofeo Stradale rear wing and brake calipers behind those awesome ADV.1 wheels combined with those super lightweight carbon fiber seats all make up for a very good looking Lamborghini … and many owners would be more than happy to call it a day when they drive this one home … but on this Superleggera it was just the beginning.

Out of sight, but very much present when you open the engine cover and take a closer look … is the Twin Turbo conversion. That’s right, this Bad Bull isn’t putting 530hp on all four of those custom ADV.1 wheels anymore … but more likely something between 700hp on normal gas (93 Octane) and 1500hp on race fuel (VP-C16 117 octane) … so this Gallardo Superleggera not only looks fast … it also is blindingly fast.

The car on this page is a first edition Gallardo Spyder, built between 2005 and 2008 when it was replaced by the updated LP560-4 Spyder edition … still many people actually prefer the original design of the V10, and you have to admit this specific convertible Bull looks really good in bright yellow pearl metallic paint … especially with that two tone interior, combining yellow and black perfectly, add those color coded brake calipers into the equation and you have a very nice, albeit aging Gallardo.

So what can you do to drag your original Gallardo into 2013? Some might opt for a Performante look alike by installing some body kit showing the Superleggera or Performante design, but this specific Gallardo model could become a classic one day, so you wouldn’t want to mess around with it, a Spyder will always be more attractive in the long run compared to a coupé version, so the owner of this Bull didn’t go to extremes … on the body.

He did have some really amazing looking wheels mounted, going up one notch from the original 19 inch wheels to a full 20 inch tall wheel from Concavo, their CW-S5 to be exact, and as it is available in 20x9inch and 20×10.5 inch I’m taking a wild guess here the front got the 9-inch wide rims while the 10.5 inch ones went on the back axle … all covered with Hankook tires.

Do note these wheels also come in 22 inch tall, but I don’t think those would fit on this Gallardo Spyder, with these 20 inch installed the car looks fresh and very contemporary again. The owner did go for the fashionable matte black finished, but only ‘inside’ the wheel, the face of this dual five spoke design has been machined in to a stunning gloss.

It is obvious a new set of wheels can make … or break a car, in this case I think we can go for the first feeling, these wheels do look a bit like the ones mounted on the LP570-4 Superleggera and Performante with their twin spoke design, I for one really like the rear ones with their deep concave style.

To complete the personal touch to this Gallardo Spyder the rear diffuser has been covered with valuable pearl metallic yellow paint white the taillights and side lights get a touch of black over them, add the black roof and it all blends in together ever so nicely.

In this case German based DMC has just come up with the perfect solution: why not turn your classic Gallardo into an LP570-4 Superleggera look alike … the Lamborghini Gallardo SOHO by DMC brings any V10 built between 2004 and 2008 up to specs with LP570-4 DNA … 2012 looks for a fraction of the price it would take to get a new Raging Bull.

Take a look at the front bumper, this DMC unit is a complete part, it just bolts onto the original mounting points used by the original bumper but it offers additional down force coupled to the stunning looks seen on the latest Superleggera edition, and it gets even better: the entire bumper is made from carbon fiber, which can be painted to blend in with the rest of the car … or it can be left in clear carbon fiber, on a black car that would really look amazing I think.

This isn’t a unit made from glass fiber and coated in carbon fiber, these DMC parts are completely made from carbon fiber, and even if you paint them, they still remain the best quality possible … and the SOHO kit continues with nice side skirts in the same lightweight material to blend in perfectly with the high rear wing … which happens to be finished in clear carbon fiber as you might expect.

But turning one of those classic Gallardo into a 2012 look involves another rather dramatic change at the back, the entire rear section is different, including the taillights, all grilles and the lower diffuser … they all have to be mounted to get the sporty impression you need.

But outside looks are only part of the deal here, take a look at those quad exhausts … remember the original Gallardo only used one large exhaust tip left and right, the LP560-4 and LP570-4 evolution went back to four pipes, two on the left, two on the right … so the DMC Gallardo SOHO just had to get this look too.

And the silencers aren’t for looks only, the sound the Raging V10 now emits through these stainless steel units reminds us of the soundtrack usually found around the track … when one of those Super Trofeo race cars comes thundering down the straight … the hairs in your neck will stand straight and you’ll get goose bumps all over … this isn’t noise, this is a symphony of mechanical genius.

Those four pipes can even be installed with an optional catalytic converter that has been modified for a more sports like performance … adding 28 hp extra to you V10 Gallardo so your Bull not only looks like a Superleggera but almost has the same power output too.

Now when you have an exterior looking like this it would be a shame not to put some tender love and care into the interior too, DMC can replace the aging leather with brand new hides from the best Italian cows, combine it further with some beautiful carbon fiber parts and you just know your Gallardo by DMC is ready for several additional years of pleasure … even if a totally new V10 could be unveiled in 2014 you will still be enjoying your revamped Gallardo that just reached its teen years by then … and it still looks only a few years old … who wouldn’t like that?

However when the new LP570-4 Superleggera was unveiled in 2010 it took the track look one step further … but that doesn’t mean the original Superleggera is any less interesting, especially when you change a few details on it like the owner of this bright orange (Arancio Borealis) did … details would be an understatement in this case to be honest.

We are looking at a 2007 Gallardo Superleggera model here, but the owner had it uprated ‘a little’ by Underground Racing … you know, the people behind the Twin Turbo conversions available for most recent Lamborghini models, they have a 1200 hp Aventador available among others, and on the Gallardo range they offer a few stages.

If you keep the stock engine you can opt for Stage 1 that will release 650 hp on 93 Octane gas … or 850 hp on race fuel (117 Octane), priced up to $40,000. If Underground Racing can modify the engine things change quite fast, a Stage 2 installation (about $70,000) delivers 850 on normal gas and an impressive 1150 hp on race fuel … and it gets even better: Stage 3 goes for $94,000 but hands out 1000 hp or 1250 hp depending on the gas you put into it.

Not good enough? No problem, Underground Racing Stage 4 kit for the Gallardo starts at $109,000 and comes with a highly modified engine … 1050 hp on 93 Octane gas, and no less than 1500 hp when using 117 Octane race fuel … try keeping that on the road when you take delivery.

But the Twin Turbo conversion isn’t the only ‘modification’ done to this Gallardo Superleggera, take a close look at the front and you will notice the bumper has been replaced with a more recent version, this is the LP560-4 model bumper, why the LP570-4 Superleggera bumper wasn’t used I can’t tell, but the LP560-4 version already changes the entire look of this lightweight V10 Bull.

Finally the factory fitted Scorpius wheels have been replaced by beautiful units from the well-known HRE Wheels collection, a well-known custom rim manufacturer with a long history of fitting superb looking wheels to Lamborghini and other exotic car makes … in this case the C93 model was installed with a satin black finish and polished outer lip.

Taking a second look at the car, especially the side view, clearly shows the ride height was modified too, the wheels are snugly fitting inside the wheel wells … the Superleggera is ‘floating’ very close to the road, and it looks perfect … and drives even better: Elite Motorsports who own this beauty has been pushing the 1508whp to the limit regularly … they reached 204.9 Mph on the standing half mile at the Houston shootout.

I must admit a Superleggera lightweight version of a V10 Lamborghini isn’t the worst base to start with, even in factory original trim this is a very impressive car, add a few personal modifications and some TLC to it and you end up with an amazing looking car at a fraction of the cost it would take to buy a brand new one … the original Superleggera is about 5 years old today, so prices did come down a bit if you want to acquire one, leaving you some extra cash to modify it.

This specific yellow Superleggera has been mildly optimized, up front we get the amazing looking LP570-4 Superleggera bumper (minus the matte black sides however) that draws the ‘old’ car right into the latest style, at the back the high, clear carbon fiber rear wing was an option originally, but I doubt many left the factory doors without it.

Another obvious update are the clean ADV05 Deep Concave wheels, this time not finished in matte black but with a brushed center and a shiny polished lip, a bit bigger in size compared to the already good looking Scorpius wheels the factory mounts they look extremely modern on this Bull, yet remain classic enough not to look over the top.

If you are getting into the high end tuning market for Italian supercars you might as well go all the way right from the start, Prior Design didn’t waste time with a small spoiler and some custom leather … the PD-L800 package just released shows Prior Design isn’t playing around. This is a very impressive kit that makes the Gallardo models before 2008 look very intimidating … almost a street legal race car with those very wide extensions up front and to the rear.

We’ve seen wide body Gallardo models before, the IMSA GTV was among the first … and for a long time the only tuner to offer such a look on the early V10 model, later on the IMSA LP560-4 GTV came along and highly regarded Hamann unveiled their Victory model … all wide body conversion kits for the entry level Lamborghini model … today Prior Design joins the ‘broad shoulders’ group with their PD-L800.

At the moment the €12,900 PD-L800 kit only fits onto Gallardo built between 2003 and 2008, so the models prior to the LP560-4 evolution, and consists of a new front bumper, rear bumper, rear diffuser, front fenders, side sills, wide rear extensions, a massive rear wing and a roof mounted air intake … all made from Dura-Flex Fiber Reinforced Plastic that allows a perfect paint finish and still enough flexibility to cope with the inevitable minor accidents.

Installation of these parts is very straightforward, allowing the entire wide body conversion to be executed with no modifications to these parts, hence lower cost … Prior Design does offer a complete paint and installation package in their workshop to deliver the best finish of the end product.

A closer look at the parts show that the entire front bumper nicely replaces the original Gallardo unit, using the same fittings it just bolts on, same with the wide fenders up front … each a complete unit that just bolts straight onto the original mountings. Side sills are a similar deal as is the rear bumper and lower diffuser … however the rear wheel arch extensions need a different approach, these are ‘glued’ onto the original bodywork as it would be very expensive to replace the entire section behind the doors.

The rear wing bolts onto the engine cover, but it looks like the original small rear wing with the rear view camera remains in place … probably a practical choice to avoid having to fill in the holes left after removing the original wing, the side plates on the new rear wing will increase stability at speed … and then we get to the roof mounted air intake … which isn’t functional it seems. At the end of this air scoop we see an opening to let the air out again … note Hamann did the exact same thing with their Victory model.

At the rear we now discover dual tips left and right, just like on the more recent Gallardo models, finished in matte black they look great on the white bodywork, a small detail are the covers on the taillights to make them look like the more recent LP560-4 units.

Last thing we see are the very nice, classic five spoke wheels mounted on this white Gallardo PD-L800 wide body kit, a very concave design at the rear that reminds us of ADV05 Deep Concave wheels … but upon closer inspection of the photos we notice DPE on the crest … but I don’t think Prior Design would mind putting ADV.1 wheels on it.

There is no official information about this, but Prior Design is calling it the PD-L800 kit that is destined for the 2003-2008 Lamborghini Gallardo that has between 500 and 530 hp available in factory tuning … will Prior Design upgrade the V10 engine to 800 hp too ? The figure isn’t so difficult to obtain if you add a twin turbo onto the engine … Underground Racing can reach 1500 hp with racing fuel … however on a normally aspired Gallardo engine around 600 hp would be the limit to keep the engine running smoothly.

And that is exactly why most tuners out there have parts to be fitted to this most successful Raging Bull ever made, the Lamborghini Gallardo was introduced back in 2003 as the 5.2 model, shortly after that an SE (for Special Edition) was launched, followed by the convertible version … that would be Spyder in fact. Another limited edition was called the Nera, but the best of the bunch would be the Superleggera, a lightweight version of the Gallardo that would be succeeded by the LP560-4 model we still know today … naturally an LP560-4 Spyder came along and an even more impressive LP570-4 Superleggera and LP570-4 Spyder Performante, an open top version of the Superleggera … the swansong of the Gallardo will probably be the Super Trofeo Stradale, but Lamborghini also gave us the LP550-2 Balboni special as a tribute to the legendary test driver Valentino Balboni.

As you can see a lot of versions and evolutions have been released over the last nine years, and if rumor has it, the Gallardo will be succeeded by a brand new V10 model before she hits her tenth birthday … the bright blue car we are admiring here is actually one of the original 5.2 versions built between 2003 and 2006, and you might think it would show it’s age, but on the contrary, she looks brand new.

I guess this has something to do with the original design being so well executed it aged very well, but I would also give credit to some of the modifications this V10 Bull has received, the first thing you will probably notice are those amazing looking ADV10.0TS SL (Track Spec Super Light) wheels … their highly polished ring and gold finished center will draw your attention for sure, but that is not the only thing this blue metallic Gallardo has to offer.

Take a closer look and you’ll notice the front bumper looks familiar, but it didn’t came from the factory like this, the 5.2 model had a different design up front, this bumper looks like the much more recent LP560-4 version, and it suits this lady very well if I’m honest. Also at the back things have changed, we encounter the beautiful glass engine covers that allows us a glimps onto that V10 masterpiece, but we also see a gorgeous clear carbon fiber rear wing, which again looks like it came from another version of the Gallardo, this time the Superleggera evolution.

Now most casual onlookers might not notice this one, but those exhausts are custom too, the original Gallardo 5.2 model came with single exhaust tips to the left and right, only from the LP560-4 on did Lamborghini fit dual tips on both extremities … my guess is that these quad pipes will make the symphony of those 10 cylinders sound a bit louder, probably more like a deep howl.

To most people that would be enough to start shaking at the knees, but the owner of this specific Gallardo went one step further by installing a state of the art audio system with some large woofers … just take a look at the position of those speakers … right behind the driver and passenger’s back … I know, these aren’t for the sound … these are to massage your back while enjoying a drive in this unique Lamborghini Gallardo on ADV.1 wheels.

When we take a look at the list of items added to a regular Gallardo to create the Invidia 540 it quickly becomes obvious this isn’t something created overnight … some serious design went into this. For one take a look at the front bumper, most would put a Super Trofeo or Superleggera look alike front air dam on a Gallardo, but Amari went the extra Mile here, creating a very impressive, deep front bumper with additional air intakes.

Naturally the rest of the body had to be balanced out, so deep side sills get installed between the wide front and rear wheel arches, and with such a race car look it became a necessity to fit a massive rear wing in carbon look on the engine cover and in case of a closed coupé Gallardo you can even opt for a very nice roof mounted air intake. Do note all parts of the Invidia 540 can also be fitted onto a Gallardo Spyder, now that would be really impressive if you ask me.

The race inspired look of the Invidia 540 just had to be continued in the wheel choice, and Amari is offering an option with massive 20-inch rear wheels combined with 19-inch wheels up front in a custom Amari design cross spoke edition, on this red car these wheels are finished in satin black … just like on a race car.

At the rear we are looking at a very wide car, hence the rear bumper and diffuser had to be modified to cope with the extra width of the rear fenders, a big lower diffuser at the rear just had to get a custom made exhaust, and here Amari pulled the race card again … their big bore exhaust makes the Invidia 540 sound like a thunder under a clear sky … this is a true super car for road use.

Remember the Alcantara interior inside the factory built Superleggera versions of this V10 ? Well Amari makes that one look plain, just take a look inside the Invidia 540 and you are welcomed by an amazing combination of leather and Alcantara in a Q-Citura style stitching pattern … the Amari crest is embroidered on the headrest when you go for the optional carbon fiber seats, and you also get an Alcantara covered steering wheel in the package.

Still have a craving for more carbon fiber ? No problem, the central console, door handles and dial surrounds on the dashboard can all be covered in this lightweight material, I’m sure if you really insist you could even get the complete door panels in carbon fiber, just like on the Superleggera version.
The red car on this page is for sale by the way, finished in Arancio Argos … yep, the new Aventador shade, with a mat black roof rolling on black wheels and with the Invidia kit also using black accents while the interior has been color coded with orange leather and black Alcantara … but more importantly this specific car also received a bespoke tuning package and exhaust system resulting in a power output of no less than 540 Bhp … to keep it safe at all times Amari also installed Pagid Blue RS-4 brakes on all four corners.

Well they now present the Green Beret … a special tuning package for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, and the best part of it might be those amazing looking wheels once again … but this time I would say it is the fact the V10 now releases 50 hp more. That’s right, we are talking about a Gallardo LP620-4 here, finished in the magnificent Verde Ithaca shade … hence the Green Beret name given to it by Wheelsandmore.

The by now well-known 6Sporz wheels are naturally an eye catcher on this Green Beret version, and on this specific car the wheels are finished in mat black but receive a nice and bright green ring and the special Wheelsandmore crest on the wheels is also color coded. Up front we are talking about 9×20 inch beauties with 245/30 ZR 20 rubber around them … at the rear these grow to a massive 11×20 inch and receive 295/25 ZR 20 tires. Do note that there are no Pirelli on the Gallardo LP620-4 Green Beret anymore, Wheelsandmore mount 5p Continental Sport Contact tires instead.

Naturally you can have these three-piece wheels finished in just about any combination the owner prefers, the sky is the limit … our should that be the size of your bank account is the limit. Still it doesn’t stop with the wheels/tires combination, the best is still to come.

Wheelsandmore doesn’t stop at cosmetics … they also went to work on the engine, by re-programming the ECU, mounting a beautiful, handmade exhaust system in stainless steel that even has remote control valves and an even better looking carbon fiber air filter system … that is also finished in bright green just in case you were wondering … the V10 now releases an additional 50hp and an extra 50nm of torque.

A power output of 620hp on all four wheels doesn’t sound too bad to me, and to get the looks to match this power you will also be able to mount a race derived suspension, more specifically new coilover that are part of the LCS … Level control system. By using an adjustable rebound and modifying the compression the car can be hydraulically lifted about 1.77 inch … just what you might need to avoid that curb from scratching the deep front spoiler.

To really create a race look on the Gallardo LP620-4 Green Beret the people at Wheelsandmore went for a mat black finished roof … does look like the Super Trofeo Stradale right? Anyway this Verde Ithaca Gallardo LP620-4 is just what you might need to be different when you park at the casino in Monaco.

No more understatement, the Victory made it’s presence noted at once, wide wheel arches, upward swinging doors, massive wheels and a rear wing that could seat six people. Finished in black with bright orange details the Hamann Victory was a looker, add the dual, twin tip exhaust system and you know this car meant business with it’s 20″ wheels also finished in black.

Originally the Hamann Victory was based on the 500 Bhp Lamborghini Gallardo but Hamann tuned the engine to release 40 hp extra and 30Nm of torque by modifying the ECU resulting in a top speed of 320 Km/h, add the Hamann steel catalytic converters with it’s dual 76mm tips and you gain another 28 hp with a torque increase of 50Nm this time.

Later on I found the Hamann Victory at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show where it was finished in a light fighter gray with lots of add-on decals making it look like an airplane, perhaps not to everyone’s taste, but surely different … but still based on the original Gallardo … in 2010 Hamann found it necessary to finally mount the Victory kit on the new LP560-4 model from Lamborghini, now called the Hamann Victory II and finished in matt black.

The Victory II became wider and a lot more carbon fiber was used on this new evolution, naturally those upward opening doors are again installed by Hamann to mimic those found on the Lamborghini flagship, but the Victory II completely changes the look of the factory made Gallardo LP560-4

A massive, very deep front spoiler gets installed, on this demo car it features a small carbon fiber section finished in contrasting red, the front fenders are complete units while at the rear the Victory II gets extensions ‘glued’ onto it, these wide front and rear fenders are connected to each other with a new side sill while a large roof mounted air intake is available too, in carbon fiber if needed.

At the rear we find a new design for the diffuser and the massive rear wing has been modified too for the new Victory II model, note that the rear wing is available either in fibre glass or in a more lightweight carbon fiber, even the bonnet can receive a nice layer of carbon fiber to integrate it into the overall look of the Hamann Victory II

Naturally such a car is nothing without a decent set of wheels, so Hamann mounts their well known ‘Edition Race’ units again, this time in massive 20 inch, 9.5 inch wide at the front and a monstrous 13 inch wide at the rear with 235/30ZR30 and 325/25ZR20 rubber respectively. These wheels are lighter compared to the originals, give a more dynamic look and improve handling, acceleration and braking response.

And good brakes are necessary on the Hamann Victory II as they tweaked the engine even further, right up to 580 Hp and a stunning 575 Nm of torque … which propels the car up to 328 Km/h, by applying an end muffler to the original end pipes even the sound emitting from the exhaust becomes more impressive.

If the outside has you looking twice, take a look at the interior where a 14 piece carbon fiber set is mounted on the steering wheel, the door handles and various other parts, but Hamann also replaced the seats with brand new units featuring a carbon back combined with black alcantara on this demo car, note the red Q-Citura stitching and the red carbon fiber seat belt holes … very impressive.

Custom made floor mats or a nice steering wheel using alligator skin ? It’s all possible at Hamann, the Victory II can be individualized both on the outside and on the inside, making it a true personal impression of what the owner wants in his car.

You can’t be driving the same car as the guy next door now can you ? So get an appointment with Underground Racing and have them modify your Superleggera a bit … up to a healthy 1000 Bhp that is, it will run circles around your neighbours car and will take a trained eye to notice the difference with the factory standard car.

The official name is the Underground Racing TT Lamborghini Superleggera LP1000-4, a bit long perhaps, but it does hold all the necessary details, it is based on the Superleggera but the engine output is lifted from the standard 570 (which isn’t too shabby either) right up to 1000 by installing a twin turbo under the carbon fiber hood.

Also called the Stage 3 package, it can actually be installed on just about every Lamborghini Gallardo V10 engine, boosting power up into previously unseen heights, combine this with a set of carbon fiber HRE wheels as seen on this orange car, and you’ve got a really lightweight, ultra high power track car that’s even street legal to drive all over the world.

Many tuning companies these days offer ways to create your very own interpretation of the Lamborghini Gallardo, but only a handful really put together something different, one of these companies is German based Anderson who has made it’s name by thinking out of the box and offering some really impressive tuning packages for the most exclusive cars on the market.

This latest offering is called the Gallardo White Edition, naturally it’s finished in white but Anderson also tweaked the engine up to a healthy 600 Bhp by tinkering with the ECU, putting special air filters on the intakes and installing a stupendous exhaust system that actually allows you to change the note of the thundering sound remotely. The exhaust now uses special racing catalysts to offer a less restricted air flow, all these modifications make the car 22 Kgs lighter as an added bonus.

So we now have some extra power and your Gallardo sounds great too, so let’s make sure it looks as good as it drives by altering the overall looks of the already beautiful V10 from Sant’Agata. Here things get a bit complicated to say they least, not everybody is keen on having it’s Gallardo cut up to mount some really intimidating wheel arch extensions.

From the first time I saw these images from Anderson I knew it looked familiar … and I’m right, the body kit and the wheels look identical to the ones offered by Imsa on their LP560 GTV version, and that’s fine by me, I for one really liked their GTV package, I even visited IMSA a few years ago and saw these amazing cars in real life … and in various stages of construction.

Note that the front spoiler and front fenders are complete units that bolt onto the original points of the Gallardo, same thing with the rear bumper and side sills … but these wide wheel arches at the rear are a totally different story, to be able to fit these and those wide rear wheels they have to cut into the bodywork of the Lamborghini, something only a skilled person should do if you ask me. But the result is surely worth it, this kit makes a standard Gallardo look even more impressive than the factory original Superleggera version.

These wide wheel arches are required to cover the massive new wheels mounted on this car, 9×20 inch with 245/30-20 tires at the front and 12.5 x 20 inch with 325/25-20 at the rear, in case of the Anderson Gallardo White Edition the outer rims are color coded with the rest of the white bodywork while the ‘spiders’ are finished in high gloss black, something that can be easily accomplished as these wheels are modular … nonetheless this combination of a white body rolling on black wheels surely works, add those red painted brake calipers and you’ve got killer looks on your Raging Bull. A special sports suspension makes the Gallardo White Edition ride even lower resulting in a truly menacing look when it appears in your rear view mirror on the German Autobahn.

And we’re not yet finished, sure the engine upgrade and that awesome body kit are nice, but Anderson didn’t forget the interior on their White Edition, the original upholstery has been replaced with a new black and white scheme on the seats, door panels, dashboard and headliner.

The seats receive black leather on the outside combined with white leather featuring stunning Q-Citura stitching on the seat and back, the dashboard received a similar black upholstery and various white carbon fiber additions, the doorpanels are also a combination of black leather and white sections with Q-Citura stitching, the doorhandles are also finished in white carbon fiber, the same material used for the hand brake and the upper section of the steering wheel. The central console got covered in white leather similar to the one seen in the LP550 Balboni special and another amazing touch can be found above your head … the headliner is finished in stunning black alcantara featuring white piping making the overall look and feel inside the Gallardo White Edition complete.

I know that not every Gallardo owner will be thinking about modifying his pride and joy this way, many owners prefer to keep their cars factory original, and I respect that, but think about this : there have been 10000 Gallardo built, those are totally different production numbers compared to the classic Lamborghinis. I would dream about touching a Miura or a Countach for instance, but with so many Gallardo available it would be feasible to buy a second hand unit and convert it into something really special and unique … while keeping a factory fresh, original model in your garage.

BF-Performance is all about creating masterpieces for those who find the factory standard Gallardo LP560-4 a bit too tame, they turn this already very nice V10 powered car into a very individual super sports car that oozes speed and power from every air inlet and outlet.

Naturally there is a aerodynamic kit consisting of carbon fiber side sills, an intimidating rear wing (including rear view camera), a deeper front spoiler and naturally a matching rear diffuser to complete the package.

Take a closer look at that front spoiler and you’ll notice it looks even more like the Reventón unit, making the GT600 look very menacing and even more aggressive than the standard car … overtaking in the GT600 shouldn’t be any problem at all.

Just in case you envy those trademark Lamborghini doors only available on the flagship Murciélago BF-Performance offers them as an option on their GT600, as if the car on it’s own won’t draw enough attention already.

Let’s take a look inside, the finest leather and alcantara can be ordered in just about every shade you can imagine, but BF-Performance can also install some very impressive carbon fiber parts, amongst them the steering wheel, the central console, the dashboard surrounds, the air vents … and the list goes on and on … there is no limit to the fantasy that can be turned into a reality here. To top it all you might want to go for the five-point racing harness, so you are nicely kept in place when you take all 600 horses on the road.

if you enjoy a touch of music while being seated behind the wheel BF-Performance can install no less than 10 high end speakers inside this car creating a near perfect listening experience in such a confined space, but the real music comes from right behind your back, with no less than 600 horse power and an increase of 35 Nm the result is pure power … which happens to be a matter of honor for BF-Performance.

Thus the chassis modifications now include a front skirt, widened wheel housing for front and rear, side skirts, a rear skirt as well as special rear spoiler that ensures greater output. The IMSA exclusive wheel is not only visually an eye-opener but it also convinces the ambitious driver with its technical characteristics ? especially when combined with the very complex traction and compression phase as well as with its height adjustable IMSA sports suspension. The highly polished IMSA stainless steel sports exhaust system can naturally not be left out of this Gourmet menu.

The optical delicacy on the rear of the LP 560 spoils the driver with a really deafening V10 symphony and increases its performance to a sensational 590 PS at 9000U/min thanks to the perfected exhaust gas routing and the connected back pressure reduction. The maximum torque is increased to 560 Nm at 6000 U/min.

As the IMSA GTV is a complete vehicle concept based on the Gallardo LP560-6 the IMSA specialists have also devoted themselves with their usual perfection to the interior of the vehicle. So the first things to strike the eye when opening the passenger door are the exclusive IMSA bucket seats made of carbon, which fi t the driver and co-driver like a sitting tailored suit. As the IMSA team traditionally consider the use of high quality materials for its newest super sports car creation to be very important, carbon is naturally used all over for elements in the cockpit. The complete multi-element IMSA carbon interior is very convincing. The whole IMSA GTV including the IMSA sports driving wheel is finished off with IMSA leather and/or Alcantara interior in GTV design.

All in all this is a very tasty high-class menu, that will make several Gallardo owners’ mouths water.

Once completed you will receive a V10 super car with no less than 600 Bhp at 7970 Rpm combined with a torque of 572 Nm at 6845 … no small feat that is accomplished by mounting a special Edo sport exhaust system and remapping the ECU.

Now these figures may not say much, ok 600 Bhp sounds a lot, but the SuperVeloce has 670 Bhp, but look at these numbers : a top speed of 340 Km/h (that’s 212 Mph) and an acceleration from standstill to 100 Km/h in a mere 3.5 seconds … that’s race territory mind you. And it gets even better, in a little over 10 seconds you have reached 200 Km/h … in a car that doesn’t even look so much different compared to the original LP560-4 that takes 11.7 seconds to reach 200 Km/h.

Naturally Edo Competition can install lots of other nice features on the Gallardo, like a button to adjust the exhaust sound level, or a front spoiler in either Fiberglass or real Carbon, naturally the original wheels can be painted in just about any color while a nice set of 19-inch, three-piece racing wheels are also listed on the option sheet.

You can even order artificially aged cast center-section on these hand-polished outer rims using 39 stainless steel screws, these are wrapped with Dunlop Sport Maxx tires at 235/35 ZR 19 at the front and 305/30 ZR 19 at the back … and you can even order a tire pressure monitoring system that will not only show you the individual tire pressure, but also the temperature per tire.

Naturally you can complete the installation with a set of Edo sport suspension that is individually adjustable, so you can set up your car just the way you like it.

At a time when most designers swear by curves and shapes which flow and merge, the Lamborghini Gallardo created by Belgian stylist Luc Donckerwolke dropped in 2003 like the proverbial bomb. Look for curves in this vehicle and – except where they are technically essential – you will look in vain. Edges and corners define the front, sides and tail. Donckerwolke’s courage in producing such clear-cut shapes and his ability to combine them in a harmonious whole has earned him the renowned red dot design award for the Gallardo and its big brother Murciélago, which has been following the same design concept since 2001.

As time went on, the sports car manufacturer from Sant’Agata, Bolognese, launched a range of Gallardos including an open-top Spyder and the lightweight and high performance “Superleggera”. In 2008, the Italian firm finally carried out some fundamental technical and optical modeling on its “small” sports car, also improving the styling even further. The front section of the V10 racer, now known as the Gallardo LP 560-4, has since been even more aggressive.

Known for its stylish finishing, ENCO Exclusive from the Saxon town of Chemnitz has now created a customized carbon fiber glove for the Gallardo LP 560-4’s lean mean body. The GT3 design front bumper is 100% carbon fiber and has three large gills on each side where the fiber strands are clearly visible. Two additional carbon fiber finish aerodynamic components are available to fit both this and the series bumper: the front splitter and the rear spoiler. The GT3 side skirts may be unobtrusive, but they make the Lamborghini as a whole appear even bigger and stronger. The boot cover for this mid-engine racer- what in normal cars is the engine hood – is also ultra-lightweight but highly resilient carbon fiber. The rear diffuser, wing mirrors and air vents in the boot lid are finished in carbon fiber laminate. Top quality matte foil adds the finishing touches, giving the angular Gallardo the look of a stealth fighter plane. ENCO Exclusive has also had a field day with carbon look laminate in the interior. The inlay on the wheel, the cover on the central console and dashboard and the handbrake shine in silvery black – as do the door handles and openers.

Enco has also been at work on the 5.2 liter V10 engine. After some serious power treatment, the ten cylinder with its menacing roar now reaches not 560, but an impressive 620HP. The maximum torque is now up from 540 to 575 Newton meters

The front fenders are replaced by Reiter versions which are 30mm wider and actually bolt on the same place as the factory original ones, no drilling or modifying anything, which also means you can take them off again if you ever sell the Lamborghini. The sills on the side are made of Carbon Fiber just like that magnificent rear wing, almost a work of art, which again replaces the small wing found on the factory car, there is no need to perform any modifications to the bodywork of your Gallardo.

But arguably the best looking part of the Gallardo GT3 Street Version is that stunning front spoiler which features those awesome ‘shark’ style air ducts on the side.

But just take a second look at that exhaust system … if you can find it. The new car is based on the production Lamborghini LP560-4. The REITER LP560 GT3 is equipped with a completely new and more powerful 5.2 liter V10 engine producing 570 PS (419.2 kW) at 8,000 rpm. It also develops significantly more torque than its predecessor – namely 540 Nm at 6,500 rpm. An EFI Euro 12 ECU performs the engine management.

With its new car REITER Engineering aims to continue the winning ways of its GT3 model series. To date a total of 49 examples were sold to the worldwide customer base. And with success: In addition to numerous race victories a REITER Gallardo GT3 currently holds the overall lead in the French FFSA GT3 and Asian GT3 championships. A brace of team titles (ADAC GT Masters), three championship titles (Australian GT, FFSA GT, Italian GT) and two championship runner-up positions (ADAC GT Masters, FFSA GT) have been credited to the REITER designed and developed Lamborghini racer over the last few years. However, the talk can not be of matching previous successes, “since the new Lamborghini GT3 is clearly far superior in many aspects than its predecessor,” states Team Boss Hans Reiter

The car weighs-in at an impressive 1,190 kg and, as a result, numbers among the lightweights in the GT3 class. The reason for this is its unique light-weight design aluminum space frame-structure, which allows the chassis to be considerably lighter and extremely rigid torsional. The front and rear bodywork and the sills are also manufactured from lightweight carbon-fiber.

The aerodynamic concept follows the high-down force philosophy of the predecessor. A combination of the carbon rear wing, front splitter and the completely closed aluminum-honeycomb underfloor generate the down force required. The aerodynamic could be improved by 8% compared to its predecessor.

According to comments by chief engineer Edward Turner the new GT3 suspension concept is based on its big brother the REITER Murciélago R-GT which has proven its competitiveness in recent seasons. CNC machined uprights, fabricated race wishbones, an 24-hour race braking system and the multi-adjustable race suspension specially developed for the GT3 car underline this and are the foundation for the improved suspension geometry. The state-of-the-art mid-engine concept gives the car excellent handling and forms the base for the perfect front to rear weight distribution of 43-57%

Equipped with 270/650-18 (front) and 310/710-18 (rear) REITER Engineering exploits the maximum tire dimension on the rear axle which in turn improves the grip compared to the forerunner GT3 and, more specifically, allows significantly more constant lap times.

As usual a Holinger race gearbox ensures excellent power transmission. An Evo-gearbox enabled gear-shift times to be reduced by half. In addition, the fully programmable, electronic power management system (OBR) is another technical innovation that eases handling and maintenance.

A genuine motor sport innovation and interesting added value for GT3 customers: During the concept and design phase the REITER development team produced the REITER Convertible Concept (REITER CC/32). It allows the GT3 car, available for 265,000 Euro net, to be converted to a full-spec GT2 race car cost-efficiently in an ‘After Sales Solution’ for approx 30,000 Euro net. In this way customers receive a REITER LP560 GT3 race car which can start worldwide in the GT3 classes and also in the GT2 categories including the LM GT2 class.

Orders for three cars have already been placed. In September Lamborghini and GT3 customers have the opportunity to test the REITER Lamborghini LP560 GT3.

This highly modified Lamborghini was constructed to have it’s maiden race during the 37th edition of the Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy held on May 20. 2006, but before entering a car into such a race, a lot of testing and fine tuning was required.

A first ‘outing’ in their ‘Baby’ looked very well indeed, last May 16. the Raeder Motorsport team had the car on the Papenburg testing ground to perform a full ‘functions test’, to make sure the car was ready to be used on the track and avoid unpleasant accidents once ‘in the heat of the race’, like body parts going airborne or a rear wing starting to live it’s own life at 300 Km/h …

With a fire extinguisher at hand and a laptop recording valuable information, the car was driven a first lap at Papenburg … without any trouble, after that another 5 rounds were completed to test the car at higher rpm, making sure that among other things the brakes were up to their job, even a start from standstill was tested to check if the drive shafts and transmission parts would hold … everything worked like a charm.

But a lot more work would be put into this super Gallardo to have it ready on Sunday, May 20. … after testing the car at Papenburg it was loaded up and driven to the ‘painter’ to apply the color scheme decided for the Raeder Lamborghini, bright orange combined with classic white would clearly show the massive work that went into creating the bodywork of this rare Lamborghini. Note that the final coats of paint were actually applied that same night !

In the morning back to Monchengladbach were Raeder Motorsport GmbH is located to have the decals mounted, fit the ABS and traction control, put some lights back on the car (regulations you know), cooling ducts for the brakes, a new exhaust system … the list went on and on while time was running out.

The guys at Raeder had about 24 hours to get a freshly painted car ready for final testing on Friday … and they did it, on Friday morning the Raeder Gallardo was present at Nurnburg to perform test runs on the actual track it should race on Sunday … but they would only test the car for two rounds, and during those tests it smelled like it could burn down any moment !? The reason was simple … because of the new exhaust, which also had been painted and wrapped in heat resistant material, warmed up for the first time, it sent a strange smell into the cockpit … totally normal, so why only two rounds at a time ?

Another logical reason, there wasn’t a temperature gauge installed, so they couldn’t verify the engine wasn’t overheating, so the stay on the save side they only drove the car for two rounds in a row.

It became obvious some small adjustments were needed to the cooling ducts, so these were performed on Friday evening (again working into the night …) but on Saturday the car was ready to be tested ‘pedal to the metal’ on the GP track, still no ABS, traction control nor temperature gauge, but at least the car could be tested up to it’s full potential … but than bad luck hit this magnificent project : a drive shaft broke, putting the Raeder Gallardo to a standstill … no more testing and subsequently no race in Sunday. At that moment there were no spare parts available yet, so this minor defect couldn’t be repaired in time for the ADAC race.

But rest assure that the Raeder Gallardo will be back on the track, they intend to run this high power car in both 6-hour and 24-hour endurance races, so expect to see this orange and white Lamborghini in action again pretty soon.

Aerodynamics : the front spoiler, which can be ordered in either a fiberglass or a Carbon-Kevlar edition, the side skirts, a magnificent three piece rear wing, the rear diffuser, special air intakes on the sides and the air scoops on the ‘shoulders’ … all parts are available in both Fiberglass or Carbon-Kevlar version, so you have a choice which material would look best on your specific Gallardo.

But let’s take a look at those fabulous wheels, Hamann 19-inch, multi-piece, light alloy units in a special ‘Design Anniversary II’ multi-spoke design, finished in silver with a highly polished outer rim. The front of the Gallardo can mount 9 inch wide, while the rear axle can receive massive 12 inch wide wheels, with 235/35 ZR19 and 295/30 ZR 19 rubber to front and rear.

But that’s not all, the best is yet to come, a special Hamann exhaust system with two ‘Sport’ rear silencers to the left and the right of the Gallardo, both sides having dual exhausts in 76mm diameter, but there are also ‘Sport’ steel catalysts available, when mounting both Hamann systems you actually gain 28 Hp and have a torque increase of about 50 Nm … and naturally all this will result in a stunning sound !

One of the tuners that is heavily modifying Lamborghini’s is ItalCarDesign, based in Switzerland, they offer a wide range of tuning for both the Gallardo and the Murciélago, from a mild Gallardo Sport version, over a Gallardo Miami to this wild Gallardo LM, which boasts ‘papillon’ doors Bhp by the way.

They started by mounting an angular rear wing on the car, powder-coated the standard 18 inch wheels in a dark titanium metallic paint and applied matte paint on the air intake at the side of the car, combine this with the two matte stripes from the front to the rear of the car and you’ve got one impressive Gallardo …

Later the side air intakes were covered with Carbon Fiber, one Gallardo, a bright blue one, even featured silver paint on these intakes, very special.

But the best part was yet to come, an engine cover in true Miura style, amazing and extremely nice, wouldn’t doubt a moment about ordering this one, and while you’re at it, go for the ‘papillon’ doors. They don’t open exactly like the Murciélago doors, but they swing mildly outwards and up, very impressive.

This orange metallic Lamborghini is a long way from when it left the factory, ItalCarDesign mounted an impressive front spoiler that looks somewhat like the Concept S front spoiler. The angular rear wing made it’s appearance on this Gallardo GT too, together with an awesome rear diffuser and four angular exhaust pipes, put some dark tinting on the taillights and mount that Miura style engine cover and you’ve got a Gallardo that stands out.

With engine tuning up to 565 hp, you’re sure those massive wheels (20 inch tall) won’t slow you down a bit, 235/30 ZR20 at the front and wide 305/25 ZR 20 at the rear courtesy of Continental puts a lot of rubber on the tarmac, and with the color coded outer rim, they look like they were meant to be there all along.

But ItalCarDesign didn’t stop there … they also mounted their ‘papilon’ doors on the Gallardo GT, these doors open up and sideways at the same time, creating an impression of a bird spreading it’s wings … a nice step away from the Lamborghini style doors everyone is mounting on their tuned cars these days.

The Gallardo GT Sport is a great looking car, much more aggressive than the original Gallardo, if you’re into tuning, this GT is probably one of the best around today.

But the first to offer a complete range of tuning parts for the Lamborghini Gallardo was Miura Corse, a trademark of the Dimex Group, based in Erbenheim, Germany.

The first thing that pulls your attention are the many parts finished in Carbon Fiber, the big front spoiler, the massive rear wing, the added air intake covers … all are finished in high gloss, clear Carbon Fiber.

On a silver metallic car like the one shown here this really stands out, probably on a dark metallic or black car the overall impression would be a little less dramatic. Naturally the inside of the car also deserves some attention, so several parts in the interior are replaced with hand made, Carbon Fiber accents, also note the engine cover can be exchanged for a Carbon Fiber Unit.

So when you’ve just taken delivery and think the standard Gallardo is just too timid for you, what can BF Performance do for you ?

If that is still not enough, why not go for the Engine compartment paneling, again in Carbon naturally. Add the Carbon brake light mounted behind the roof, some nice rear light covers in Carbon and an engine cover in high gloss Carbon and you’re just about running out on exterior options from BF Performance … you could however also add the ‘GTR’ exhaust pipes, which are black coated.

Still not satisfied ? No problem, let’s go over the interior options then … a two part central console, a four part door handle kit, all finished in nicely colored Carbon Fiber naturally, and additionally an ergonomic steering wheel with Carbon Fiber inserts. Lamborghini – the brand is synonymous with sporty automobile pleasure for the street. And when you see the Gallardo, you also know why. 520 hp is at work inside this attractive and, most importantly, airflow-optimized body. For owners, who think it leaves not enough impression on its beholders, can order the brandnew wide HAMANN body-kit “Victory”, making the Gallardo the ultimate head turner. Various HAMANN power upgrades promise better perfomance.

Wider alternative “Victory”

Already the first impression of the HAMANN Lamborghini Gallardo “Victory” indicates that this is hardly a standard model. The eradicatively changed look which is provided by the new HAMANN-made wide body-kit easily outpaces the series model. The kit goes by the name of “Victory” and represents the newest coup from HAMANN for the Lamborghini Gallardo. The kit consists of a wide body-version front apron characterised by a HAMANN front spoiler and an adjustable Cup racing-spoiler lip. HAMANN fender extensions are mainly responsible for the the beefy appearance. Perfectly matched are also wide body-side sills and a new rear apron. A four part rear wing is working together with a rear diffuser to achieve better downforce values. An air scoop on the roof finally rounds off the racing looks.

Thanks to the comprehensive aerodynamic components, the HAMANN Lamborghini Gallardo makes a clearly sportier, more individual and more exclusive impression.

Wow factor wing doors

With lending the Gallardo a pair of wing doors, HAMANN gives the car a feature that is inextricably linked with the classic Countach and the more recent Diablo and Murciélago models. HAMANN is relying on an inhouse wing door construction to create a stable system without being too flashy. The hinges of the HAMANN wing door conversion can only just be seen, without appearing retrofitted. This ensures that the Gallardo still cuts a fine figure when getting in and out.

As one might expect, such finesse calls for a number of measures. In view of the end result, however, they can be regarded as extremely minimal. To complete the conversion, all that remains to be done is to blend in the paintwork along the hinges and the internal folding of the doors. The conversion is carried out at HAMANN and takes about a week.

The HAMANN wing doors are characterised by the fact that they open upwards at an angle. Drivers who opt for this conversion will never want to be without this wow factor! Needless to say, HAMANN also offers conversions for the Spyder version and older 500 bhp models.

Power upgrades

And it wouldn’t be a real HAMANN if the performance was not optimized as well. In case of the Gallardo with 500 hp/ 368 kW, HAMANN gains some additional 40 hp/ 29 kW and 30 Nm of torque through reprogramming the ECU. Top speed rises from 315 to 320 km/h. In an analogous manner, HAMANN teases out additional 30 PS/ 22 kW from the engine of the actual 520 hp-Gallardo. A plus of 40 Nm torque promises also better performance. Again, top speed is 320 km/h. But there’s another way of getting more horsepower. By using sport steel catalytic converters and two double-pipe sport mufflers with 76 millimeter diameter in a V2A stainless steel design, the performance is increased by a total of 28 hp. At the same time, the maximum torque is increased by 50 Nm as a result of this modification. Custumers who prefer the original tail-pipes, HAMANN offers the possibility to use them with the new sport muffler by providing an adaptor.

Bigger “footgear” in 20 inch

For the wide body-version “Victory” HAMANN recommends a slightly bigger “footgear”. At the front axle wheels sized 9,5Jx20 with tyres 235/30ZR20, at the rear axle 3Jx20 with tyres 325/25ZR20.

All wheel sets – for example with rim design “Edition Race”, HAMANN fits with tyres S1 EVO of its technology partner HANKOOK.

HAMANN equips the Gallardo with racing brakes on the front and rear axle. Each brake system is made up of 2 slitted and ventilated brake discs (380mm in diameter in the front, 34 mm thick / 360 mm in the rear, 32mm thick), 2 red coloured HAMANN fixed brake calipers (8-piston front, 6-piston rear; different colours available) as well as special brake and hand brake pads. Where is the race track?

If desired, HAMANN also performs interior refinements. (Almost) everything is possible. If customers want to follow the regular accessories program, they’ll find e.g. precious HAMANN floor mats, an 11-piece interior-set of carbon-fiber components or racing seats which promise better lateral support.

We’re back at putting wide wheel arches on cars, the time when German tuner Koenig or Rieger were the ‘masters’ in this area is long gone, several tuners offer ‘wide’ versions of their body kits, and IMSA now offers a wide body kit for the Lamborghini Gallardo.

By the way, IMSA GmbH is a creation of the German Kleemann distributor … don’t know Kleemann ? Kleemann is a company from Denmark that offers high end tuning for Mercedes models, complete with Lamborghini style doors actually.

So IMSA GmbH wanted to impress those customers who think a Kleemann Mercedes is too soft (?!) … how could you do that ? A good way to start is to take a Lamborghini Gallardo and build a very special body kit around it, complete with very wide fenders, large wheels and a massive rear wing.

The visual attraction of the Gallardo GTV is massive, you can’t just walk by a Lamborghini, let alone a tuned one like the IMSA model, and thanks to the high level of expertise, both from Lamborghini and IMSA, this car performs worthy of it’s looks too.

The rather complex V10 engine still uses day to day technology, it is still an engine right, so IMSA tuned it to pump out a healthy 600 Bhp, creating more than enough reserve for even the most demanding driver on the public roads.

Quality control and fine-tuning of this power plant is fully controlled by computers, similar to those used for Formula One cars … the customer can even follow the progress of ‘his’ car online !

The overall design of the original body remains visible in this wide body kit, naturally the fenders are wider and the air intakes larger, but they still follow the lines of the Gallardo … only the rear wing has grown quite a bit into a full free standing model.

Stunning ‘twin-spoke’ multipiece wheels are mounted by IMSA, these feature a central locking system by the way and cover large disc brakes with 8-piston calipers at the front and 6 piston calipers at the rear, all held firmly on the tarmac by a fully adjustable sports suspension that is finely tuned to the specifications of the customer.

With all those sporty looks on the outside one might forget that the interior boasts the finest leather combined with Alcantara, details in aluminum and Carbon Fiber are naturally present too, just like the customer ordered it.
