Origin and History

The Lamborghini Espada Hot Rod is a one-of-a-kind creation that takes the classic Lamborghini Espada from the 1970s and transforms it into a wild, rebellious hot rod. This eccentric vehicle was brought to life by Danton Arts Kustoms in collaboration with Carrosserie Hervé, merging the luxurious Italian grand tourer with the raw, edgy aesthetic of American hot rods.

The project was commissioned by Jean Philippe Delsol, a French car enthusiast and collector known for his love of radical custom cars. The Espada Hot Rod made its debut at the 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where it stunned onlookers with its audacious design and fearless disregard for convention.

Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, was able to unveil the next-level V10 NA model to existing customers, VIP, and friends of the Raging Bull brand right at the Lamborghini Lounge NYC, located in the heart of the Chelsea Arts District, with a 30 hp power increase compared to the Huracán EVO RWD, this new Tecnica can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, this new addition to the V10 range from Sant’Agata is the perfect mix between the road and the track, a super sports car that is able to deliver the best of both worlds.

“It was a special moment for me to be back in New York City unveiling our new masterpiece to customers and friends of the brand in our Lamborghini Lounge, showcasing our brand’s ethos and design DNA,” said Stephan Winkelmann. “The Huracán Tecnica delivers the advanced evolution of the Huracan’s technical prowess with outstanding aerodynamics for heightened performance, stability and ease of use. It surely doesn’t come as a surprise for Lamborghini to take their latest V10 model to the USA, for the 2021 financial year the US market was undeniably the largest in the world for Automobili Lamborghini SpA with an impressive total of no less than 2,472 cars delivered in 2021, Lamborghini managed to raise their 2020 figure by 11% last year, so it is only logical the new Huracán Tecnica will be shown to the public during the New York International Auto Show between April 15 and April 24, I for one can’t wait to see this new car in real life myself.

Naturally, Automobili Lamborghini SpA couldn’t miss this opportunity to finally showcase some of their amazing cars to the general public after so many car shows have been canceled over the last year and a half, so Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini’s President, and CEO represents the Sant’Agata company on the first day on 10 June, joined by members of the board.

During the MIMO event, which takes place from June 10 to June 13, there will be four Lamborghini models on display, starting with the limited-edition Lamborghini Sián, the first hybrid Lamborghini built for customers, albeit only 63 owners will be able to enjoy the pleasure of this V12 hypercar that comes with a supercapacitor behind the two seats in the interior.

The 640 HP Lamborghini Huracán STO finished in the presentation shade of Blu Laufey with orange livery is also on display at the MIMO show, being a race car that has been homologated for road use, the impressive V10 will be shown at the Piazza del Duomo together with the aforementioned Sián.

Lamborghini did bring two other cars to the Milan Monza Motor Show, their Super SUV, the Lamborghini Urus, finished in a stunning matt finished blue will be shown along the Corso Vittorio Emanuele together with a bright yellow Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder.

But this event isn’t just static, for instance, a Huracán STO will take part in the Premiere Parade in the evening and feature a procession of the most iconic cars of the participating brands, behind the wheel of the Super Trofeo Omologata will be Lamborghini’s Chief Marketing & Sales Officer Federico Foschini, while on Friday a pair of Lamborghini Urus will take part in the Castello Sforzesco to the Monza Autodrome drive.

The official dealers from Lamborghini Milan and Lamborghini Bergamo will organize a Bull Run, gathering about 30 clients to parade their amazing Raging Bulls on the Monza Autodrome track, on the paddocks we will find the brand new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 race car inside the Lamborghini hospitality tent.

I arrived early at the show, right when the doors opened for the press/preview day on December 1, mostly that’s a good idea, but not this time … turned out the LB Works Aventador was covered up, only to be unveiled at 13:00 … but that did give me time to walk around the entire venue at ease, so I started taking in the large number of cars that were shown … as a Lamborghini fan I was especially interested in the Bulls, but as a car guy I can surely appreciate the other tuned cars at this show, some are real works of art on wheels.

I also know that AUTOart usually has a stand at the Essen Motor Show, so I made sure to check them out early in the day, as they tend to offer handmade sample models for sale … and I was in luck, I managed to get hold of one of a very few 1/18 samples for the Lamborghini Centenario model in clear carbon fiber that will only come out next year.

Back to the real Lamborghini, in the first hall I visited, I found one of only three Lamborghini Huracan Pdlp610wb by Prior Design in the world, finished in a bright green body over a full white leather interior, this low and wide V10 set the scene for the rest of the day it seemed, as I found an LB Works Huracan a bit later boasting a truly wild wrap … very difficult to photograph, but very different at the same time, this specific Huracan came with the stunning Countach style rear wing from DMC.

JB Cardesign showcased their flawless custom paint on two different Lamborghini Murcielago, the famous dark red metallic one and a special, silver-blueish metallic one, both with custom aero kit and totally bespoke interior … they also had a stunning Bianco Canopus Lamborghini Aventador hiding inside a VIP area, you all know how much I like this satin pearl metallic white on the Aventador, so I was happy finding one in Essen this year, in another hall I also found a copper metallic Aventador on custom wheels … honestly, she looked rather good in that shade too.

I saw two Lamborghini Gallardo during my visit, a yellow, early Gallardo Spyder that came with a subtle aero kit complete with rear wing in Superleggera style and a not so subtle decal on the side, next to this open top V10 they parked a bright orange Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera … even after all those years still a very nice looking car that has aged very well.

Talking about ‘aged Lamborghini’ … how about a bright red Urraco P300 featuring a very nice, two-tone leather interior, truly a classic V8 these days … and she was parked next to a silver metallic Lamborghini Espada Series II … an early S2 as she still had the Series I knock-off wheels but did come with the newer dashboard … the interior showed a great, unrestored patina on the black leather seats.

Probably more affordable than any of the other Lamborghini at the Essen Motor Show were a pair of Lamborghini tractor, a 1964 2R model in the bright orange and blue livery listed for €34,500 while an older 1958 Lamborghinetta DL20 in dark red was offered for €33,500 … both from Klima Lounge, who didn’t bring any other Lamborghini to Essen this time.

The number of Lamborghini Huracan was impressive this year, not only did I see two different wide body versions, from Prior Design and LB-Works, but there were also three different Huracan Performante at the show, one of them being a very dark blue Spyder version on gold wheels and H&R suspension, the other one was a stunning green metallic one on custom wheels … not sure if this one was a wrap, but I do tend to think it wasn’t a factory original paint.

There was also a satin black (probably Nero Nemesis) Lamborghini Huracan at the show on an absolutely amazing looking set of chrome wheels complete with an impressive aero kit, this V10 looked so sinister it was almost criminal not to photograph her from every angle …

On one stand I even saw a bright blue  Lamborghini Urus for sale, finished in Blu Eleos and riding on 22-inch Nath wheels over red brake calipers, complete with gloss black style kit and beautiful Q-Citura stitching on the inside … price was on demand … but if you have to ask. Now, in all honesty, this wouldn’t be my first choice for the color on a Urus if I would order one, but she did look really amazing nonetheless.

Even Lamborghini Squadra Corse was present at the Essen Motor Show with a pair of their awesome race cars, the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo edition finished in the classic grey and a satin green Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, the car to compete in the 2019 season … both great looking cars, totally different, but with a similar idea behind them.

Onto the car I’ve been waiting to be unveiled since the morning … the nr 19/50 LB-Works Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Limited, finished in bright green metallic, lowered to the ground on the famous Airrex suspension and showcasing those bolted on wide fenders front and rear Wataru Kato has become famous for. Add that massive rear wing and deeply curved wheels and you end up with an amazing looking Lamborghini … perhaps not too everyone’s taste, but she surely drew a lot of attention at the show.

Back in April 2016 the Miura SV chassis 5030 was on display during the Technoclassica show in Essen as a bare shell … now this car has been almost completed, painted in the original gold shade complete with partial engine and suspension installed this PoloStorico project needs final assembly and some more work on the interior before it is finished..

Next to this gold Lamborghini Miura SV the by now famous dark green metallic Miura SV (chassis 4846) was shown, the first Bull to be completely restored by the PoloStorico department in Sant’Agata that has taken several awards over the last months, note that this was the actual 1971 Geneva Show car that marked the official launch of the Miura SV evolution.

The official Museo Lamborghini in Sant’Agata has been recently updated, to celebrate this a pair of amazing Bulls were shown at the Padua show, the white 2005 Gallardo Concept S with the special division between the two seats … only two of these Concept S exist and one is owned by the factory.

Next to this rare V10 another important V10 was shown, the Huracan Super Trofeo race car in the matte grey metallic shade with the ’63’ number on the side … only one of many race cars that can be found inside the new Museo Lamborghini.

Right next to the stunning Centenario Lamborghini showed a bright red Huracán LP580-2 on silver wheels and a white Huracán LP610-4 Spyder with an amazing looking blue leather interior with red stitching and special, Forged Composite used throughout the interior … very nice and exclusive looking.

So the Automobili Lamborghini SpA stand showed a total of 4 cars to the public … but upstairs is the VIP lounge, open on invitation only and usually for owners or future customers that are about to sign their order … and if you are thinking about getting some of those amazing Ad Personam touches added to your Lamborghini there is an Ad Personam Studio right next to the VIP lounge where the most beautiful cars are prestented.

For 2016 the VIP lounge showcased a truly magnificent Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, finished in a very dark red, pearl metallic shade called Nero Granatus over a highly custom ordered interior, complete with Ad Personam crest on the doors, color coded clear carbon fiber and a beautiful Elegante pattern on the seats, rarely seen in the Aventador. Just about all the exterior air intakes had red carbon fiber surrounds and just to complete the look the engine bay, visible through the glass engine cover, was also fitted with red clear carbon fiber parts.

Inside the Ad Personam Studio at the Geneva Motor Show we found a matte white Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 Spyder with a luxurious looking, brown leather upholstery showing an awesome hexagon pattern and ‘Huracán’ script on the seats … again the central console, doors and vents got covered in Forged Composite here … a very nice touch.

With six Raging Bulls in total on display at Lamborghini it would be difficult for the other stands to draw attention to them … but DMC managed to do just that, being at Geneva for the second time in a row, DMC unveiled the new Huracán Jeddah edition in Geneva, finished in an intimidating black that massive, Countach inspired rear wing looked better than ever.

Nimrod was present in Geneva too, remember the Avanti Rosso? Based on the Lamborghini Aventador, the Avanti Rosso by Nimrod was a very special looking car altogether with some serious intakes and massive wing added … this time the car is called the Avanti Toro and comes with a new front bumper design and some other modifications … according to the owner he already sold 3 Avanti Rosso/Toro.

Let’s say you love the Lamborghini Veneno, but buying one is just a little too expensive (there is one listed for sale at €10,000,000), so the next best thing would be to get an Aventador and install those special, center lock wheels … which are available as an option from Lamborghini, called the Razze 7 wheels. But there is one downside … these Razze 7 don’t come with the carbon fiber ring as seen on the Veneno. But fear not, Mansory has just released a brand new wheel for the Lamborghini Aventador that looks very close to the original Razze 7 wheel … and Mansory does deliver the ring with them.

All in all the 87th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show was once again an amazing experience, showing some of the most exclusive cars in the world … most of them we will probably never see on the open road anyway.

This show is known as a ‘buyers event’, usually you can get some amazing deals when buying your car during the show, it will be delivered by your local dealership, but you can get a serious discount and free option packs when you sign the order form during the show itself … things might be a little different when you visit the Lamborghini Brussels stand, which also shows some amazing Bentleys by the way (same dealership in fact) … even the brand new Bentayga was on display.

I have to say I was hoping to see a Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce in Brussels, but unfortunately the V12 flagship was not present this time, instead two Lamborghini Huracán were shown on the stand.

The bright yellow metallic over black leather Huracán was the new LP580-2 version, slightly lower horsepower compared to her LP610-4 sibling perhaps but with rear wheel drive only and a bit more aggressive styling at the front and rear, this Giallo V10 sure drew a lot of attention during the show, the optional, glossy black Mimas wheels looked great too by the way.

The second Bull on the Lamborghini Brussels stand was the bright orange, Arancio Borealis Huracán LP610-4 Spyder we’ve seen at the IAA in Frankfurt, with a color coded two-tone interior showing those impressive sport seats with carbon fiber shells … this V10 showed the black Giano wheels with polished ‘holes’, a very nice touch on this car.

Hall 1 at the Brussels Expo was the ‘dream car display’ where Lamborghini Brussels was located, but we also encountered an amazing looking, dark blue metallic Lamborghini Miura P400, the first production version of the Miura from the mid-Sixties … and she looked brand new. This Miura was in fact shown on a stand for the Italian Car Passion event we covered earlier, which has the impressive Rosso Veneno Roadster on display.

Other than that we only found one additional Lamborghini at the Brussels Motor Show, a sparkling red metallic Lamborghini Gallardo, from the front headlights this car looked like an LP560-4, but with her two-tone paintjob, red metallic and a black roof she looked like a Bicolore edition, even more so because she had the amazing looking Skorpius wheels installed too … however the Gallardo LP560-4 Bicolore never came in this special red metallic shade.

This V10 was tuned by Heinz Performance, so the power output was increased, and to keep things down to the road they also installed a nice carbon fiber DMC rear wing, together with the clear carbon fiber lower diffuser at the back the overall package did look really nice.

Some might compare the yearly Essen Motor Show with the famous SEMA show in the United States, naturally this German counterpart isn’t that elaborate, but still Essen manages to get some really amazing cars on display each year, the 2015 edition not only had the first production model to leave the factory gates in Sant’Agata at the show but also one of the most recent models in the Raging Bull line up … naturally we’re talking about the 350GT and the Aventador Superveloce here.

First up was a gold painted Lamborghini 350GT with a nice, dark red leather interior … we’ve seen this car before, but she still draws attention, even if she’s about 50 years old these days, and she is for sale if you are interested.

The same stand had some really interesting Lamborghini on display next to this 350GT, how about a pristine looking white Lamborghini Jalpa with a bright red leather interior and the ultimate Countach model … a red Quattrovalvole running on those typical ‘telephone dial’ wheels, painted in gold like a true Eighties car should be, the interior of this Countach was another work of art with a two tone leather upholstery and some amazingly detailed strips on the seats and central console … very nice, and rather rare I’ve been told.

Two more classics were shown next to these three masterpieces, a very nice dark brown Lamborghini Urraco P250 in S trim showing a perfect, brown leather interior and a beautiful Lamborghini Jarama in a rather special blue/green paint over a dark red leather upholstery … different but very classy in fact.

One of the first Gallardo we encountered in Essen was a dark metallic, first edition Spyder showing a very light leather interior … this 2007 model was priced at €89,000 during the show … but we have to admit there were two other Gallardo at Essen that drew just a little more attention.

Let’s take a look at the Praban stand who had two Gallardo on display, their matte black demo car we’ve seen back in 2013 was present again, with the Praban Stage 3 Twin Turbo Rennsport tuning … total power output was listed at 1,500hp … but Praban took their TT system one step further and installed it on one of the 185 Lamborghini Gallardo Nera models … the result looked amazing, and the power output was even higher … nearly 2,000 hp in a V10 Lamborghini.

One of the other stands had a bright yellow Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster for sale, with a front bumper inspired by the famous Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce and a very nice interior, the central console and parts on the door panels were finished in dark alcantara while the seats also combined this dark alcantara with yellow leather … looked great to be honest, built in 2005 with a e-Gear transmission she was listed at €179,950.

Two more Lamborghini Murciélago were present at Essen, on was wrapped in a matte grey vinyl with bright red accents, but the most eye-catching feature on this V12 was the air ride suspension by Streetec … this Bull was riding very low to the road while the third Murciélago on show was a bright orange metallic one : the Murciélago GTR 680 by RFK Tuning.

RFK Tuning has modified the engine management system of the standard Murciélago LP640 to increase the power from 640 hp to 680 hp while torque output went from 660 Nm to 705 Nm, acceleration from 0 to 100Km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of more than 340 Km/h were the result … rolling on custom wheels in 9×19 inch up front and 12.5×20 inch at the back with Pirelli P-Zero tires in 255/30 ZR19 and 325/25 ZR20 respectively … very impressive.

And we haven’t even discussed the Huracán in Essen yet, a nice Arancio Borealis LP610-4 on a set of glossy black Giano wheels looked great, but a white Huracán with Capristo exhaust impressed more, and Capristo is an official Squadra Corse partner to Lamborghini … which makes installing their exhaust just a little more tempting, and it’s not only about looks … the V10 screams with a Capristo exhaust, just like a race car.

VOS Performance had their white Lamborghini Huracán at the 2015 Essen Motor Show, their very nice clear carbon fiber aerodynamic parts look really great on the new V10, at the Essen show VOS had their new rear diffuser fitted … adding a very aggressive touch to the back of the Huracán. But VOS can also add a lot of carbon fiber parts to the interior of the Lamborghini Huracán … if you are looking into creating a very special Huracányou should really get in touch with VOS Performance in Germany.

Not one, but two Aventador Pirelli Edition were shown in Essen, a bright red coupé model with a clear carbon fiber rear wing (that looked suspiciously a lot like the DMC SV rear wing) and a Grigio Titans Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster Pirelli Edition … which I preferred to be honest, that matte grey paint looks absolutely amazing combined with the glossy black parts of the Pirelli Edition and the red pin striping.

This brings us the top of the line when it comes to Lamborghini V12 models to date … the Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce. The ‘super-fast’ flagship of the Sant’Agata production line was shown at Essen in a bright white dress … combined with those matte finished carbon fiber parts, the glossy black cross-spoke wheels with their red central locking nut, the red brake calipers and those amazing looking sport seats on the inside with white details … this is as perfect as it gets I think.

The 2015 edition of the Essen Motor Show was once again a great event with a lot of exotic and super cars and some of the most amazing tuned cars from over 150 actual owners … in the end almost 360,000 visitors came to admire the cars, bikes … and girls at the show … for the 2016 edition they are expecting over 500 exhibitors … so make sure you mark the date in your agenda.

In one of the main halls we usually encounter Klima-Lounge, a long time exhibitor in Essen that has shown some of the most amazing and rare Lamborghini ever made in Sant’Agata … and this year was no different.

Center stage was taken by a perfect example of the legendary Lamborghini Miura SV, finished in bright yellow she looked as if she just left the factory doors in Italy a few days earlier, while in fact this beauty was built in the Sixties … over 40 years ago, but this Giallo lady wasn’t even the oldest Bull present.

That honor went to a gold metallic Lamborghini 350GT with a perfect dark red leather interior, the 350GT was in fact the first actual production model to be built in Sant’Agata back in 1963, later on the engine would be enlarged to 4-Liter creating the Lamborghini 400GT model, adding two small seats in the rear resulted in the 400GT 2+2 model … two of these were also shown in Essen.

The 400 GT 2+2 would be succeeded by the more angular Islero model, that would later be replaced by the Jarama with her very special quad headlight treatment showing covers that would tilt down to unveil the four large, round lights … both the Islero and the Jarama were on display in Essen together with the larger, four seat Espada.

In fact one of the two Espada in Essen was truly unique … this 1969 model finished in a bright blue metallic paint with additional flakes received a black leather interior … on its own already very rare because of the paint, but what made this Espada really a one of a kind Bull was the fact the roof featured a large glass panel that flooded the interior with light making it almost a show car. Actually back then Prince Rainier opened the Monaco Grand Prix behind the steering wheel of this very car.

These days the Lamborghini Countach is becoming a rare sight, keep in mind the last one was built back in 1989, which is 25 years ago, so being eye to eye with no less than three of these low slow, futuristic looking Bulls is a real treat if you ask me … and even better was the fact we’re talking about three milestones in the Countach range.

First up was a pristine black Lamborghini LP400 … that’s right, one of the original narrow body cars with the special ‘Periscopo’ rear view mirror tunnel on the roof, despite rolling on rather thin wheels this first production version of the by now legendary Countach still looks really amazing … and good samples are demanding a serious investment to acquire these days.

Second Countach was another black one, but this time the LP400 S model, complete with wide wheel arches, massive rear wing and a custom two tone black and white interior, it wasn’t one of the very early LP400S that still had the Periscopo, but still she showed those highly sought after ‘Telephone dial’ wheels with the protruding holes … and in true Eighties style these wheels were gold painted, also note this specific Countach LP400S received a special side sill treatment.

Now we already saw the original LP400 and the first of the S series Countach … and the next best thing would surely have to be that amazing white Quattrovalvole on show. Without a doubt the QV evolution was the best Countach in the range, with the four-valve V12 engine that pumped out 455 bhp and looks to die for … this was the ultimate Bull to drive in the Eighties … no other car on the market could come even close to the effect a Countach QV had on onlookers … either on the open road or parked in the city … the Countach ruled!

A lot of people know the Lamborghini Gallardo and the now new Huracán … but keep in mind Lamborghini had an ‘entry level’ model many years ago already … the Urraco P250 was the first V8 production model to leave the factory in Sant’Agata, first in standard P250 trim with cloth seats, later on the improved S model was released … available with leather seats … eventually the Urraco would evolve into the stunning Silhouette of which only 52 were ever built … only to culminate in the Jalpa P3500, the latter two being a two seater only but with a removable roof panel making these in fact the first ‘convertible’ bulls ever.

Now tuning is a major part of the Essen Motor Show each year, and this year we could admire a very nice, bright green Lamborghini Gallardo, an early series model in fact, that received a lot of clear carbon fiber parts and some really nice looking wheels. Even the new Lamborghini Huracán was present, but other than a custom wrap to mimic the Italian Polizia edition this recent V10 didn’t seem to have received any additional customization.

Which makes our last two Bulls in Essen even more impressive … how about a clear carbon fiber, matte finished Lamborghini Aventador Roadster …. or should we say the Mansory Carbonado Apertos as this car was just about completely modified from front to end, I doubt many original parts from Sant’Agata still remain on this open top exotic … only three in the world by the way, priced at €1,200,000 … plus taxes.

If you think Mansory is the only one that takes a Lamborghini, completely strips her and installs new body panels … think again. Check out the matte black Fortori SR66 that was finished just days before the Essen Motor Show opened the doors … last year we found the already impressive Gallardo SE700 at the same show which would later on evolve into the SR66-2 by Suhorovsky Design … today Suhorovsky decided to transfer their Lamborghini tuning section to a new company called Fortori, and for that occasion the SR66 was repainted in this stunning matte black finished … note this isn’t a wrap, it is actual paint … and that dark red leather interior is the next item on the list to be modified by the way.

If you compare the official photos of the SR66 by Suhorovsky to these new ones taken at the Essen Motor Show you’ll notice a few modifications … among other things the amazing looking air intakes on top of the rear fenders … very box styled, similar to the ones seen on the legendary Countach in fact. Add the glossy clear carbon fiber parts that contrast very nicely with the matte black paint and this totally modified Lamborghini Gallardo is right up there with the custom made cars from Mansory … located in Poland they can transform your Gallardo into an SR66 in a matter of weeks.

So once again our visit to the Essen Motor Show was a success, we’ve seen some amazing custom made Bulls and some of the most important models ever made in Sant’Agata … the entire range from 1963 right up to 2014 was present this time, so it was surely worth the drive … we can’t wait for the 2015 edition to come up.

Usually there are some really amazing customs on display like Rat Rods and totally custom built bikes for instance, or extreme low riders … some even based on modern cars, not only classic US models and most of the time I’m able to get one or more scale models to add to my collection while the 2013 edition of the Essen Motor Show didn’t disappoint when it came to Raging Bulls … both on display and for sale in fact.

On a large stand Klima Lounge had an impressive collection of classic and special Bulls for sale, ranging from the car that started the entire adventure for the late Ferruccio Lamborghini … the 350GT was the first production car made in Sant’Agata from 1964 on, the gold finished one in Essen was built a year later in fact, this 1965 model was looking showroom fresh with a stunning dark red leather interior and amazing looking brushed aluminum with wood rim steering wheel … price on request.

No less than two units of the later 400 GT 2+2 evolution were shown too, one finished in bright silver metallic while the other looked very stylish in her light blue dress … both pristine looking by the way. Also a duo of Lamborghini Espada were there, both the early Series I model with the typical Gandini styled hexagon dashboard unit only found on these Series I Espada … and once again these two V12 GT looked brand new.

Probably the most expensive Lamborghini at the 2013 Essen Motor Show was a Lime Green Miura … a 1967 P400S model in fact with the impressive V12 engine behind the seats and those massive front and rear ‘clips’ open to show the venerable chassis to the onlookers … again with a price on demand only, but we all know the Lamborghini Miura is demanding some serious money these days, and this perfect looking S model sure wouldn’t come cheap.

The final Raging Bull on that stand was a much more modern model, but a very special one in fact … how about a real race car? Check out the Blancpain Super Trofeo model they offered for sale, a 2009 model that was the championship car in the 2010 Blancpain Super Trofeo series and which was featured in the official 2011 factory made Lamborghini calendar … a real one of a kind car.

These were all factory specs Lamborghini, but the Essen Motor Show is all about custom and tuning, so a lot of highly modified cars were on display too, like a bright orange Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 rolling on a set of amazing looking ADV.1 wheels, or a wide body Lamborghini Gallardo with upward opening doors wearing an impressive chrome wrap and Q-Citura style stitching inside.

Or a matte black Lamborghini Gallardo from Team Ring Police complete with black and white police livery, another Gallardo showed a satin gold wrap and very nice looking custom wheels, while it was the first time I could admire the impressive Lamborghini Gallardo SE700 by Boxter that would later on evolve into the Gallardo SR66-2 built by Suhorovsky Design.

However some of the most impressive Lamborghini were still to come … how about a bright green Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera with a large compressor installed on the V10 engine ? Rothe uses a customized compressor to boost power from 570hp up to 780hp … and just in case you want even more power the same company can put two turbo chargers on this engine … power output rises to an even more impressive 1008hp.

And that still wasn’t the most powerful Lamborghini in Essen this year … a matte black Gallardo rolling on a set of some of the most amazing concave wheels even seen with a bright orange rim created by Praban took the title of the most hp on a Raging Bull … 1,500 hp in their ‘Rennsport’ Stage 3 edition … perhaps not really street legal, but stupendously impressive nonetheless.

To complete the number of Lamborghini present at the show let’s take a look at two unique cars … the Italdesign Giugiaro Parcour Concept was on display, both the red coupé and the white roadster version could be admired, both using a Lamborghini sourced V10 engine inside a styling that wouldn’t look too bad for an actual Sant’Agata made SUV model if you ask me.

Once again the Essen Motor Show didn’t disappoint … I can hardly wait to see what kind of art on wheels will be shown next time.

This year a nice selection of Lamborghini were present on the floor, only one Aventador this time, but I expect to see many more flagship models next year … however the bright red Aventador on display looked a lot like the MY2013 edition we’ve seen in Paris a few weeks ago. Lots of clear carbon fiber parts on this Rosso shade, both on the inside as on the outside …while another giveaway were the optional Dione wheels that also were present on this V12 exotic in Essen.

A bit of a surprise in Hall 1 … we came eye to eye with an intimidating black Gallardo Super Trofeo race car, which happened to be for sale … listed at just a bit under €200,000 it was offered as being street legal with a GT3 conversion, including the race mounted lift system … built in December 2009 with only 900 Km on the odometer … sounds interesting no?

Scattered around in the different halls at the Essen Messe grounds we found two Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder Bulls on custom wheels, an orange one and a black one … while another display showed an original early Gallardo available for track driving.

One stand was rather crowded with Lamborghini Murciélago models … albeit none of the in standard factory trim, all were highly tuned, most of them even with special paint that is only available in very limited quantities … perhaps not too everyone’s liking, but very special nonetheless.

Tire manufacturer Hankook is always present at the Essen Motor Show, and just like previous years a custom Lamborghini was on display … this time the wide body GTV-R edition from Imsa finished in white and rolling on some of the most amazing gold painted wheels … Imsa created a car that couples a much wider stance with an overall impression that works well with the existing lines of the Gallardo.

The Essen Motor Show is still open to the public until December 9. 2012, so if you have any possibility to visit … I can wholeheartedly recommend you do … this show is simply amazing … on so many levels.

And by getting a VIP entry ticket I was able to attend the show a day before the doors would open for the general public, so there wasn’t a crowd yet, perfect for getting some nice photos. The doors opened for professionals and VIP guests at 10am, so I was there right from the start and reached the Lamborghini Brussels stand bright and early.

A nice surprise for me, the amazing looking Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale I’ve seen at Frankfurt was also present, production number 0/150 being the official factory demo car, and it looked even more menacing than I remembered from Germany a few months ago … and what’s even better, one of these limited edition cars has been sold to an enthusiast in Belgium, in exactly the same livery as seen here … Rosso Mars.

I probably mentioned it before, but I really like the new flagship from Sant’Agata, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is just a stunning looking car, menacing from every angle and most likely one of the best driving Raging Bull ever … putting down a staggering top speed without reverting to special tools required by an engineer to unleash the full power like on some other makes.

And when standing eye to eye with a Bianco Canopus finished Aventador I am speechless for a few seconds. This beautiful pearl metallic white shade with a satin top coat is just so awesome looking on this new Bull, it takes your breath away.

The car at the Brussels Motor Show was sitting on glossy black wheels over black calipers and a full black leather interior … personally I would use the standard silver wheels, perhaps a nice shade on the calipers and surely a two tone black and white interior, most likely even using a combination of leather and Alcantara on the seats and door panels … but I would settle for this show car too, no problem.

I’m sure the Lamborghini Brussels stand at the Motor Show will draw a lot of attention during the public days, the red Super Trofeo Stradale will make people dream about owning a Raging Bull with the brutal rear wing and deep front bumper while the majestic Aventador in mat white will have people discover all the little details in the angular design of this V12 flagship.

The two cars at this stand weren’t the only Raging Bulls at the Motor Show, on a classic super car stand you can admire a very nice looking, yellow Lamborghini Countach LP400S, most likely the car that has adorned more walls than any other … next to this Countach they parked a Bugatti Veyron by the way … there is no Bugatti stand at the show, but at least you’ll be able to admire one anyway.

In one of the other halls I encountered a very nice dark blue metallic Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, the original version with the tall headlights … however this one was riding on the new wheels used for the LP560-4 evolution, a nice touch.

The Brussels Motor Show might not be one of the most important car shows in the world, or even Europe, but as a car enthusiast it is always nice to have a local show like this too, and seeing the Super Trofeo Stradale and the Bianco Canopus Aventador was very welcome … a nice start of the year, now it’s time to get ready for Geneva in a few weeks …

And it did, the 2010 edition of the Essen Motor Show was again massive and very interesting for all car minded people, something for all tastes was on display, and you could buy your new material there too or even get a new car as many stands offered some amazing cars for sale, among them various Lamborghini ranging from the early, classic 400 GT 2+2 over a stunning Miura and several Countach right up to the most awesome Murciélago LP640 models.

One of the halls contains mostly second hand cars that are available for sale, but naturally the most interesting halls were those holding a nice amount of Raging Bull, and contrary to last year, many of these Italian made beauties made the trip to Essen to be admired by the thousands of onlookers that would visit the show over the next days.

We were able to get press access to the show, so we could get some interesting shots of the most beautiful cars shown, like a black Lamborghini Countach with after market wheels … nothing too interesting you might say, but this was a turbo charged car that made nearly 750 PS resulting in a top speed of 330 Km/h according to the owner of the car. Who are we to doubt these specs ?

On the same stand we also found a stunning looking, blue Miura and an equally beautiful 400 GT 2+2, both for sale in case you are looking for such a rare car, further down the show halls we found the original Hamann Victory, this wide body tuning package based on the Lamborghini Gallardo was first finished in black, but later on Hamann decided to paint it in a light gray shade and put lots of decals on it, making it look like a fighter plane … you either love it or hate it I guess.

Two other Gallardo were located at the Essen Motor Show, a yellow one that could be rented for a spin on the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands while a black LP560-4 unit had a Taxi sign on the roof … if this was an actual taxi we highly doubt, but the idea was nice anyway.

After walking past lots of stands with both high end and low end tuning parts, light units, rims … and nice hostess aside the cars we found the stand for JB Design … and had to grasp some air honestly.

JB Design is specialized in high end, custom painted super cars, they actually have paints that cost thousands of Euros per liter, how about that ? But they do look special … however some people won’t really like the heavy modifications on these cars.

They showed their prized pearl metallic red Murciélago LP640 with carbon fiber body kit; full alcantara interior and chromed wheels, a similar car finished in a stunning dark blue metallic shade over a gray alcantara interior while a third Murciélago on their stand was actually a Belgian registered one. Finished in white over a black and gray alcantara interior and massive body kit … this latter one was for sale for a healthy 359,000 Euro.

But JB Design didn’t bring the last edition Lamborghini only, they also showed a very nice orange Diablo VT6.0 featuring a totally custom made interior, some chromed wheels and a clear carbon fiber rear wing.

The last Lamborghini on their stand was a very low mileage Countach 25th Anniversary finished in the classic red over tan shade, a Euro specs car that was offered for a mere 169,000 Euro, a nice price for such an icon in the history of Automobili Lamborghini SpA.

So this year the Essen Motor Show surely was worth the drive into Germany, we had a great time and spend too much money at the show, but that’s all part of the fun, we attend these events to have a great time and bring back some photographs to make you part of the show.

The press day was also a preview day, and apparently you could just buy a ticket too, probably more expensive than during the normal public days, but still a lot of people were walking around the halls on Friday, and surely not all of these were professional journalists.

Anyway, it was our first time at the show, and to be honest it wasn’t as impressive as we were led to believe, sure it is awesome with lots of high end customs being shown, but still in about four hours time we’ve seen the entire show … not something that happens to us during normal car shows, and what made things even worse : only four Raging Bulls in Essen.

We’re just kidding here, sure the Essen Motor Show is really impressive, you come eye to eye with some of the most highly tuned cars in the business, and you get a change to meet and greet the builders too, people from Brabus are there with some of these amazing Mercedes cars, but also a showcase on Ferrari was present (too bad it weren’t Lamborghinis, but maybe next year).

The Essen Motor Show also has some real life action, indoor drifting is very impressive, a bit loud and the exhaust fumes surely won’t be very good for your health, but you have to be there to experience it … at least once. Seeing a massive Audi V8 doing donuts is really awesome to be honest. And just in case you are looking for scale models, there an entire floor with spare parts and scale model vendors, as usual we’ve come home with a few additions to the collection, but still some nice bargains could be found in Essen this time.

Naturally we were looking for Lamborghini cars, and the first one we’ve encountered was the well known Hamann Murcielago finished in white with the black carbon fiber parts … and it was for sale actually for a special ‘show’ price of only 220,000 Euro, how’s that for a bargain.

In another hall we found a matt black Murcielago, actually matt wraps are a big hit in Europe these days, and many companies were showcasing their work in Essen, some of high end cars, others on smaller cars like the Mini, and what made it really nice, once you get tired of the color you can easily replace it with another one, or have the original shade back on, not cheap, but the effect surely is amazing nonetheless.

In one of the larger halls we came eye to eye with a very nice black Lamborghini Murcielago … edo LP710 Christian Audigier Limited Edition to be exact, a very impressive car in real life, especially with all the special paint and embroidery inside. With only 5 built in total, this was one rare car, and it drew a lot of attention during the show … or would that be the nice hostess that was posing next to it ?

In the basement we found our fourth Raging Bull, a white Gallardo Superleggera that was now riding on a more attention grabbing set of wheels, as it was finished in white we were naturally drawn to it, we all know that very few of the Gallardo Superleggera left Sant’Agata in this shade, which made it all the more interesting.

Essen Motor Show 2009 was a nice change to the Italian car event we normally frequent, it is amazing how much money people are willing to spend on a regular car to make it stand out of the crowd, I’m sure that many VW’s, Ford, Audi and similar makes that were on show would come to a total cost not far from a genuine Gallardo if you count all the customization installed.

Note that the amazing Lamborghini Miura Roadster prototype was first shown to the public during the 1968 Brussels Auto Show but unfortunately the 2008 edition didn’t bring any major news from Sant’Agata, the very stylish stand was finished in the trademark black looks with an amazing looking black metallic Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Roadster and a bright orange metallic Gallardo Superleggera, both drawing a lot of attention of the people surrounding the stand.

Thanks to the people from Lamborghini Brussels I was able to access the stand, which is normally closed to the public actually, so I could photograph these two amazing Bulls up close and share them with you.

Outside they parked two other Lamborghini’s to offer test drives to interested buyers, and contrary to what you might expect for such a small country, Belgium does have a lot of Lamborghini owners, and future owners, a very decent amount of Bulls are sold in Belgium every year. Can’t wait to see several of these cars during the next SpaItalia event which is dedicated to Lamborghini for the 2008 edition !
