Remember the Gallardo SE from 2005 now five years later Automobili Lamborghini SpA is again building a Special Edition Gallardo, this time they call it the Bicolore because besides the limited number of shades available (only 5), the roof is finished in black so using two colors on the bodywork.
And there is something even more interesting about this car, for the European and Asian market the Bicolore is based on the Gallardo LP560-4 model however for the United States of America the Bicolore is built on the LP550-2 model, offering ultimate driving pleasure in a car with rear wheel drive only, after the Balboni edition the second Gallardo model offering this to the public.
Most figures remain the same as the model the Bicolore is based on, acceleration from standstill to 100 Km/h is reached in only 3.7 seconds while the V10 engine only gives up after reaching it’s top speed of 325 Km/h driving the Gallardo Bicolore will be just as impressive as the standard LP560-4 model.
So what makes the Gallardo Bicolore stand out from the rest of the V10 line up?
For one the styling, there are no additional wings or vents on the Bicolore, but the implementation of a high gloss black roof, roof pilars, engine cover and mid rear section makes you really notice this car from the first glance, by the way, the glass engine cover is standard on this one, just to make sure you and everybody else can admire that great looking engine all the time.
By the way, this shade is called ‘Noctis Black’ in the Lamborghini catalogue, combine this with either Giallo Midas, Arancio Borealis, Grigio Telesto, Bianco Monocerus or Blu Caelum and you get one great looking, mean and low, Lamborghini V10 model. Add to this those amazing looking wheels also used on the original SE and the Balboni special, called ‘Skorpius’ by the way, finish them in a nice titanium grey shade and these forged wheels make the whole package look menacing enough to make the competition run and hide.
On the inside you are seated in the nicest ‘Nero Persus’ leather seats with contrasting stitching that reminds you of the exterior color you’ve ordered on your Bicolore, either yellow, orange, blue or gray the white Bicolore gets the gray stitching too in case you are wondering I forgot to list it.
Note that the central console, especially the section where the e-gear transmission bezel is located, is also finished in the high gloss Nero Noctis shade, the same one used for the upper section on the outside.
Would you like a glass engine cover, or the navigation system/rear view camera, perhaps a system to lift the front of the car so you don’t scratch that expensive front spoiler Carbon ceramic disc brakes, powered seats complete with heating and a list of additional options are all available on the Bicolore.
If you are looking for a factory original V10 powered Gallardo that actually stands out from the crowd, then the Bicolore is your car, get an order in quickly as I’m sure these are being sold quickly at this time it isn’t known if the Bicolore will be a limited edition model like the earlier SE, but production will not be very high I guess.
