Lamborghini is getting ready to reveal the successor to the famous Huracan, and it’s possible that the new model will be named Lamborghini Temerario. The discovery was made from a trademark application filed with the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), which indicates that the new car could bear this bold name and feature a logo reminiscent of the emblematic horns of the new Countach.

The trademark application was submitted for five different categories.

  • 9 – Electronic Sensors & Equipment
  • 12 – Cars, including electric and combustion vehicles and their components
  • 14 – Watches
  • 25 – Clothing
  • 28 – Toy Cars

Classifications 9, 14, and 25 refer to infotainment graphics and apparel related to the new model. However, classifications 12 and 28 are particularly interesting, suggesting this is likely a new model. After all, it wouldn’t make sense for Lamborghini to introduce a new toy car that is not directly linked to a production supercar.

Lamborghini’s tradition of naming its cars after legendary fighting bulls could take an intriguing turn with the Temerario, which translates from Spanish to “reckless” in English. Despite the initial surprise, this choice echoes Lamborghini’s history of rebellion and innovation, promising a vehicle that lives up to the audacious spirit of its moniker.

Under the Hood: A Hybrid V8 Powertrain

The Huracan’s successor is set to depart from the V10 and embrace a plug-in hybrid V8 engine. Speculations point towards a powertrain derived from Lamborghini’s SC63 Le Mans race car, suggesting a hybrid V8 capable of bringing race track exhilaration to the open road.
