Once the clay model met Okuyama’s standards, it was then rendered in 3D computer modeling software. This digital model was used to create a full-size design buck at the Ken Okuyama Design Yamagata Factory in Japan, which is the only “carrozzeria” in the country.

The Kode 0’s aggressive new bodyshell was meticulously crafted using custom carbon fiber panels. Most of the body was finished in silver, but some components were deliberately left bare to showcase the intricate weave of the carbon fiber for a striking visual effect.

Interestingly, the splitter is separate from the nose cone itself, but integrates into the front fenders via mandible-like extensions. This creates a sharp, blade-like appearance. Vertically mounted LED headlights sit flush with the bodywork on either side.

Along the side, the Kode 0 has a distinctive Z-shaped profile that follows the lines of the front splitter and sweeps toward the rear before slashing forward over the cabin. Every panel was custom-made for this one-off car, allowing Okuyama to carefully choose where to showcase the bare carbon weave for maximum visual impact alongside the sleek silver paint. Carbon fiber’s unique properties make it ideal for supercars like the Kode 0. It offers high strength and stiffness but with very low weight. By utilizing carbon fiber, Okuyama was able to create the Kode 0’s complex, aggressive surfaces while keeping the car extremely lightweight at just 3,417 lbs – 55 lbs less than the Aventador on which it’s based.

Underneath its stunning bodywork, the Kode 0 is pure Lamborghini. The car is powered by the same 6.5-liter V12 engine found in the Aventador, which produces 690 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. This powerplant is mated to a seven-speed automated manual transmission, which sends power to all four wheels via Lamborghini’s advanced all-wheel-drive system.

Talking about performance the Kode 0 can probably beat the Aventador she is based on when competing … Ken Okuyama states an overall weight of 1,550kg (against 1575 for the LP700-4) and with that wedge design, the drag could be less on the Kode 0. However, larger, center lock, NL3 Forged wheels from Novitec in 9×20 and 13×21 with Pirelli P Zero 255/30 ZR 20 and 355/25 ZR 21 might work against the Kode 0 as no engine tuning has been performed.

However, if you are asking yourself about cooling with that glass panel … take a look at the doors … on top of the doors you’ll notice a multitude of carbon fiber air intakes, and when you open the doors you’ll see a vent cut inside them to allow air into the engine compartment and probably also some on the rear disk brakes … it seems like Ken Okuyama did think this through as there are also vents next to the glass panel.

The Interior: A Blend of Luxury and Performance

The Kode 0’s cabin seamlessly blends high-end materials and sporty design elements. The seats are upholstered in quilted silver leather with gray Alcantara inserts, providing comfort and support during spirited driving. While performance was unremarkable by modern standards with a 0-60 mph time of 6.0 seconds and a top speed of 145 mph, only 411 Jalpas were built in total, making it quite collectible today. Prices have been driven up by its rarity despite some questionable 1980s-era reliability.

The Jalpa’s closest rival was the Ferrari 308, which offered similar performance with a more reliable V8 powertrain. However, the Jalpa’s angular Bertone-designed bodywork and Countach-inspired looks help it stand out from the Ferrari.

2. 1976-1979 Lamborghini Silhouette (Price range: $60,500 – $130,000 estimated)

And he wasn’t wrong, the Aventador received a newly developed V12 engine to replace the evolution of the original Sixties Bizzarrini V12 found in the Murciélago that could be traced all the way back to the 350 GT, the legacy from the Sixties wasn’t powering this new flagship anymore, but that didn’t keep clients from ordering this amazing new model, and sales quickly surpassed anything they’d ever seen in Sant’Agata, it took only five years for the Aventador production to reach 5,000 units, and less than 10 years after the launch, in September 2020, the 10,000th Aventador left the assembly line … today, with the final Aventador Ultimae Roadster the counter reached 11,465 units, the Aventador outsold all of the previous V12 models put together, in just 11 years of production.

Between 2011 and 2022 we’ve seen several different versions of the Lamborghini Aventador being built, originally we had the 2011 Aventador LP700-4, but only a year later we got the first one-off already, the absolutely breathtaking Aventador J, a true barchetta with an extremely low windshield … well, two windshields to be exact, and no roof whatsoever, something that would return later on with other models based on the Aventador ‘tub’, but for more practicality Lamborghini did release a real Aventador Roadster version in 2013, with two removable roof panels that could be stored in the front luggage space, unlike the canvas roof found on the Murciélago Roadster.

Things moved swiftly during the production of the V12 flagship with the introduction of the Super Veloce edition in 2015 already, the Aventador LP750-4 SV was the first ‘limited edition’ model in the range, with only 600 units of this track-inspired monster built, it sold out rather quickly and prices skyrocketed, a year later we got the Aventador SV Roadster, this time only 500 units were available, and by now we were 5 years into production with about 5,000 units built, so people were expecting the Aventador to be replaced anytime soon, they’d seen the Murciélago Super Veloce as the final version, and less than 5,000 units built, so it would make sense for Lamborghini to end production of the Aventador at that time, but they couldn’t be more wrong … production would continue for several more years.

The ‘mid-life’ evolution of the Aventador LP700-4 became the Aventador S in 2016 with rear-wheel steering and a host of other improvements, among them a power boost of 40hp to 740, almost as much as the 750 hp SV model, naturally, the Aventador S Roadster followed in 2018, but things really surprised aficionados when Lamborghini came up with the impressive Aventador SVJ and subsequently the Aventador SVJ Roadster, also known as the LP770-4 models for their 770 hp V12 evolution, some consider the SVJ, or Super Veloce Jota a successor to the Super Veloce, but it’s in all fairness a completely different car.

And once again, the SVJ was a limited production car, in total we got 900 units of the Coupe and 800 units for the Roadster, and even those higher numbers didn’t prevent this model from selling out in a hurry, and while I still think the SV looks more aggressive, I have to admit the SVJ is the better car with her active aerodynamics and four-wheel-steering, but there would be one final hurray before the NA V12 era would come to an end as the next-generation flagship from Sant’Agata will retain a V12, albeit a newly developed one, but with a hybrid setup, the ultimate Lamborghini Aventador would become the LP780-4 Ultimae and Ultimae Roadster … to say a final farewell to the Aventador range, just 350 Coupe and 250 Roadster were built, and the final one, the number 11,465, a custom order, Ad Personam blue Aventador Ultimae Roadster has just been completed on the Linea Aventador at the factory.

But first, let’s not forget the special edition Aventador models and the very special few-off models that were based on the Aventador chassis. As a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the founding of Automobili Lamborghini SpA in 1963, we got the magnificent Veneno at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, a Le Mans-inspired model of which just three units were sold, later joined by a series of just nine Veneno Roadster, which as it happens, didn’t have a roof just like the Aventador J from 2012. But Lamborghini wasn’t ready yet, for 2013 we also got the Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversary, available as a coupe or a Roadster, and limited to 100 units each.

In 2016 we saw the unveiling of a Lamborghini Centenario, as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the late Ferruccio Lamborghini, the original founder of Automobili Lamborghini SpA, only 20 units would be built, and you could ask for a clear carbon fiber body as an option, allegedly a €300,000 option at the time, but it looked absolutely stunning, a Centenario Roadster later joined in, again no roof whatsoever, and also limited to 20 units, but another one-off was shown in 2018 as the SC18 Alston, a custom-built car that was rumored to have cost €7,000,000, in 2020 another one-off was built as the SC20, a topless bespoke build, almost a modern interpretation of the J from 2012, but in between, we had the Sián FKP37 in 2019, the first Lamborghini with an additional electric motor and a supercapacitor for power, only 63 units built, later joined by the Sian Roadster with just 19 units.

In August 2021 we saw the last ‘few-off’ model based on the successful Aventador underpinnings, the Countach LPI 800-4, a car to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1971 Countach prototype, this time limited at 112 units as an homage to the internal codename for the Countach back in the Seventies, LP112, and in late September 2022 the production of the Aventador came to an end, concluding the naturally aspirated Lamborghini V12 era, an engine Ferruccio insisted on using for his new car back in 1963, only a V12 would do, and he asked Bizzarrini to develop one just for Lamborghini, Ferruccio didn’t borrow his engine from any other maker, and an evolution of this original Bizzarrini V12 would be used in all Lamborghini V12 GTs and supercars from the Miura to the Countach, the Diablo, and the Murciélago.

The next-generation flagship from Lamborghini has already been confirmed to be using a V12 engine too, but this new car will get a completely new design V12, built from the start to use hybrid assistance, it is therefore highly unlikely we’ll be seeing a 6.5-Liter V12 in the upcoming model due to size and weight. Let’s not forget we need batteries and one or more electric motors to make it a hybrid, and all that adds weight, so the obvious choice to counteract this is to downsize the V12 engine, but that doesn’t need to cause a lower power output, my guess is that by the time we get to see the new Raging Bull flagship, we’re looking at close to, or just over 1,000 hp total power output.

Rumor has it there is a VIP unveiling of the new Lamborghini V12 in December 2022 already, with a more public reveal in January 2023, and with the final Aventador Ultimae Roadster being completed, it is almost certain they are converting the Linea Aventador in Sant’Agata for the new model, chances are you won’t be able to get a guided factory tour in that area anymore for the rest of the year, and if the spy shots that have been captured over the last months are anything to go by, I’m sure the new Lamborghini flagship will be a stunning Italian beauty once again, I for one can hardly wait until we see the official press photos in a couple of months.

Put that into money and you are talking about €1.33 billion turnover in six months, a 30.6% increase over the first six months of last year, more importantly, operating profit jumped to a massive 69.6%, or €425 million (first half of 2021 had an operating profit of €251 million), this converts into an operating margin of no less than 31.9% (vs 24.6% last year), figures that could be reached thanks to more units, a very interesting mix of models, an increased level of customization through the Ad Personam Studio, and let’s not forget positive exchange rates.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, commented: “We have come to the end of an exceptional first half of the year, despite ongoing uncertainty caused by the geopolitical situation. The outlook is equally positive, with orders taken already covering the whole of 2023 production.”

Paolo Poma, Managing Director and CFO of Automobili Lamborghini, added: “This is a very challenging time but Lamborghini is facing it successfully thanks to a clear long-term strategy, which is bolstered by the brand’s great appeal. The results from the first half underline the positive trend and strengthen our conviction that we can end 2022 with a significant increase in results compared to the previous year.”

The spread of deliveries over the three macro-regions in which Lamborghini is officially represented is almost even, America, Asia Pacific, and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) account for 34%, 25%, and 41% of global volumes respectively, as usual, the United States is still their number one market with a total of 1,521 units delivered up to the end of June, the runner-up accounts for just over a third of that number, the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau together received 576 Bulls while third place is taken by Germany with 468 units, closely followed by United Kingdom (440) and fifth place is taken by the Middle East, still with 282 units in six months.

I’m sure it doesn’t come as a surprise that the biggest share of the 5,090 units from January 2022 to June 2022 comes from the Super SUV, the Urus, which takes up 61% of sales during that period, the remaining 39% are for the Huracán and the Aventador, with the Huracán Tecnica being unveiled recently, we will probably see an increase in V10 deliveries over the next six months, while production of the Aventador and the Aventador derived models like the Sián, Sián Roadster, and the Countach LPI 800-4 have reached the end of their production, and let’s not forget Automobili Lamborghini SpA is still planning to unveil two new Urus models and another Huracán starting this month, most likely we’ll be seeing something new during Monterey Car Week in about two weeks.

Starting with the Lamborghini 350 GT in 1963, Lamborghini has been manufacturing V12-powered cars, with the 1966 Lamborghini Miura heralded as the world’s first supercar. This evergreen V12 legacy will finally conclude in the year 2022, when the last of the 600 Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae models roll off the assembly line in Sant’Agata, Bologna. Lamborghini plans to manufacture 350 units of the LP780-4 Ultimae Coupe and exactly 250 units of the Ultimae Roadster, each individually numbered for uniqueness.

The Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae: Power with Elegance

The Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae stands ready as the most potent version of the Aventador lineup. Lamborghini’s trusted 6.5-liter V-12 L539 engine powers this beast, with careful optimizations yielding 769 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque due to valve timing enhancements. Any Aventador road car has yet to see this peak power level, which impressively kicks in at a staggering 8,500 rpm. It’s expected to produce an awe-inspiring sound at full throttle.

The Aventador’s 7-speed independent shifting rod transmission distributes this enormous power to all four wheels. Lamborghini touts a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 2.8 seconds (for the Coupe variant) and 2.9 seconds (for the Roadster), pushing the top speed to around 220 mph.

The Ultimae harnesses the Aventador SVJ’s power, which is subtly tweaked to squeeze out an extra 10hp, and pairs it with the body design of the Aventador S. However, it lacks the Active Lamborghini Aerodynamics (ALA) system. Mirroring the Porsche 911 GT3, the Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae marries raw power and a refined aesthetic in a masterful blend. Its design carefully veils its mighty engine under a subdued exterior, showcasing a unique balance of extreme power and understatement.

Unique Exterior Design Features of the Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae

Though the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae includes the side sills and rear section of the Aventador SVJ, its front bumper is taken directly from the Aventador S. Additionally, the Ultimae model doesn’t require a newly designed front bumper or bespoke engine cover due to the absence of the ALA system. Lamborghini made minor changes to the side sills and introduced color coding for the intake area to match the rest of the body.

The rear section of the Ultimae is what Lamborghini describes as a “celebration of the SVJ’s track-oriented heritage.” The rear wing, which is a part of the active aero system, can be set to three different positions for varying performance levels. The car also boasts vortex generators at the front and rear of the chassis underside.

The interior of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae is a blend of sporty design and elegance. Pricing and Collectability

The price for this ultimate Lamborghini Aventador isn’t officially announced, but it’s believed that the Coupe will start at $498,258 before options, while the Roadster will start at $546,847. Considering its uniqueness, the Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae could quickly become a collector’s item, as it’s the final Aventador ever, and only 350 Coupe and 250 Roadster units will be produced.

CEO’s Take on the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae

President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, expressed his views on the Aventador LP 780-4, stating that it is the “final, purest, timeless naturally-aspirated production V12 Lamborghini.”

The Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae concludes a decade-long evolution that began with the Aventador LP700-4 taking over from the Murciélago. Over these years, we’ve seen 27 models using the Aventador carbon fiber monocoque chassis, including the Veneno, Centenario, and Sian. The last of these fantastic supercars will roll off the assembly line next year.

The Future of Lamborghini

Rumor has it that the successor to the Lamborghini Aventador will debut in 2023. This model will be Lamborghini’s first actual production hybrid car, signaling the end of the aspirated V12 era for Lamborghini.

Inside the Lamborghini VIP hospitality, you could admire an absolutely stunning Huracán STO spec, Bianco with Blu livery, while on the wall Lamborghini showcased a small part of their color pallet available to customers, in the other corner some samples of leather, while you can sit down at a table and discuss you new Lamborghini spec with a representative, or just take a break in the salon while sipping some Prosecco from the bar, made in Italy naturally, and while these static displays look amazing, the real action at the Goodwood Festival of Speed happens in the supercar paddock and during the famous hill climb.

Lamborghini came with an impressive series of cars to use during this hill climb, the swansong of the Lamborghini V12 engine was present, the impressive 780 hp Aventador Ultimae, but they also had both the Huracán EVO and STO taking a stint during the Goodwood FOS in a celebration of the naturally-aspirated engines before we’ll be seeing the first hybrid models from Sant’Agata next year, but there were also some truly track-specials on display too, a line-up of Lamborghini Squadra Corse cars including two Essenza SCV12 and two Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 were shown outside the exclusive Drivers’ Club.

I was present in Frankfurt back in 2019 when the limited edition Lamborghini Sián was revealed to the public, and I remember Lamborghini’s Chief designer, Mitja Borkert was asked if this was a preview of the future for the next-generation Lamborghini flagship, and he categorically denied that was the fact, remember back in 2007 when the Lamborghini Reventón was shown, we might not have known it back then, but it turned out a lot of the design queues on that very limited, million-dollar Raging Bull would be found on the Murciélago successor a few years later.

And then we see the test mule for the Aventador successor and can’t help but wonder if we will be seeing more or less a further development of the Sián styling to be used on the first V12 hybrid production model in the history of Automobili Lamborghini SpA, and to make things even worse, the brand new Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica boasts some serious Sian influence on the front, next to the headlights … so will that be a ‘house-style’ for the upcoming Lamborghini models? Remember the spy shots of the Lamborghini Urus a while ago, the one with the black wrap, it also shows this styling next to the headlights as you can clearly see below.

I do admit I rather like the renders on the Lamborghini V12 hybrid, the styling is aggressively Lamborghini, I just feel the rear sits too high, but that could be the angle of these renders, or just the first impressions, on the other hand, I love the placement of the exhaust pipes, and while some sources mentioned these could be ‘duds’, not the actual exhausts but just there to distract, I truly hope these are genuine and will be present on the new flagship from Sant’Agata. This brings us to the next topic, the Huracán Tecnica was just unveiled, but word is there is another V10 model to be unveiled later this year, and chances are that will be the raised suspension version, also known as the Sterrato.

And that rumor is emphasized by a photo posted by CocheSpias on Instagram showing a satin army green Lamborghini Huracán that looks a lot like the orange concept we’ve seen several years ago, so chances are that is a further development of the original concept car, personally, I don’t really see the appeal of a raised sportscar, but that’s just me I guess, something that would really interest me with a V10 would be a Spyder version of the brand new Tecnica, just like the Huracán Performante was available as a Spyder and the ancestor that used the Tecnica name, the Lamborghini Gallardo Performante Edizione Tecnica.

We’ll have to be patient and wait to see what Lamborghini still has in store for us before the year ends, we should be seeing something new in August at Monterey Car Week, a tradition for Automobili Lamborghini SpA to unveil something new and different … let’s hope it’s a new and impressive Raging Bull.

By 2015 we even saw the Batman Arkham Knight game on PlayStation, and someone made a replica from that specific car based on a Lamborghini Gallardo, and she looked really mean, but if we want to consider that a real ‘Batmobile’ is open for debate I guess, so what would happen if we have a real, customized Lamborghini as a base for an actual, fully-loaded with gadgets and weapons, Batmobile well it seems Wanoco 4D, a Mechanical Engineering student created a concept loosely based on the Aventador of how the next-generation Batmobile might look, combining according to the designer elements from Batman and James Bond together into one gadget-loaded supercar.

This very aggressive looking car does have some Lamborghini Aventador styling elements, but nothing much from the original Raging Bull is left after Wanoco 4D works his, or her, magic on the outside, inside, and even the chassis (as can be seen in the video and the end of this article), but what is evident from the renders is the fact this crime-busting pursuit vehicle comes with a raised suspension, almost like the Huracán Sterrato that is rumored to be introduced later this year, which makes sense, and the bad guys don’t stick to nicely paved roads, so whoever is driving this black beast should be capable to follow them off-road too.

From the flat paneling, it seems obvious this concept is armored, set to resist bullet impacts, and perhaps even some more aggressive weaponry too, and she’s capable of returning fire too, with a multitude of machine guns fitted beneath the armor plating, and there are some rather liberal choices when it comes to the final result, the famous upward-opening doors are gone, Wanoco 4D opted for gullwing style doors for his concept, while the engine cover is hinged at the rear, much like the one we’ve seen on the Murciélago Roadster over a decade ago.

And while the design is based on the Lamborghini Aventador, the choice was made to go with a V8 engine instead of the flagship V12 unit, a rather strange decision if you ask me, but other than that, I really like the extremely aggressive style of this car, the wider wheel arches remind me of something Kato-san from LB-Works would do, and there are a lot of panels that either raise up, or open on a hinge, while there are several lights and LED to be found throughout the exterior, too bad there aren’t too many views of the interior yet, but overall this is a really nice concept for a Batmobile.

Remember the Felicity Ace? Yep, that was the massive car carrier ship that had more than 4,000 cars on board, among them about 1,900 high-end Audi, 1,100 Porsche, 189 Bentley … and 85 Lamborghini, and while most of the latter were Urus and Huracán models, among these Raging Bulls were 15 units of the Aventador Ultimae, and being limited to 600 units, losing 15 of them is an issue, so Automobili Lamborghini SpA has decided to start Linea Aventador again and rebuild the 15 units of the Ultimae that were lost when the Felicity Ace went down, so their owners will still receive the car they ordered, albeit with a little delay.

I’m sure Automobili Lamborghini SpA has kept track of which chassis numbers were on board of the Felicity Ace, so my guess is they will use these same identification numbers on the new 15 units that will be built over the coming weeks if that’s allowed by law that is, if not, they will just issue additional chassis numbers, remember they all came with a plaque xxx di 350 or xxx di 250 anyway, and while some consider the Aventador Ultimae as a kind of ‘less aggressive’ looking SVJ, this is still an amazing car nonetheless.

The Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae is the most powerful NA V12 ever, with 780 hp, no hybrid add-on, she’s powerful and comes at an MSRP of about $500,000, so not cheap, but she does rub shoulders with million-dollar hypercars if my opinion if you take a closer look at the Ultimae you’ll notice the front bumper from the Aventador S, the side sills and rear fascia from the SVJ, but no fixed rear wing, which is probably one of the reasons for Lamborghini to go with the S front bumper, without rear wing there is no need for a front bumper with ALA, the active aerodynamic system from Lamborghini used on the SVJ.

The Grigio Acheso as used on the press release Coupe version did come with about $60,000 worth of options, and it is that car Lamborghini of North America delivered to Matt Farah for a test drive, she only covered about 50 miles before he got behind the wheel to see of this 10-year old Aventador is still relevant in 2022, but there is one title this specific Lamborghini will never loose, and that’s the one being the last ever NA V12 ICE model to be built in Sant’Agata for the road, the successor will be a V12 hybrid, so the Aventador Ultimae is the ultimate supercar made in Sant’Agata, and that’s all the reason why they sold out so quickly.

Let’s take a look at what Matt Farah has to say about the swansong of the Lamborghini Aventador lineup, is this a worthy ‘goodbye’ to the famous NA V12 Lamborghini engine?

No more grey covers on these new spy shots, just the usual camouflage wrap, and it seems Lamborghini did try to keep this new car out of sight, hence the photos look to have been taken with a long-focus lens, sometimes the car itself only covers a small portion of the photo, so these might actually be real spy shots that weren’t intended to be made … but we’ve found them anyway.

From the front and side angle photos, we start to recognize some really special treatment for the side air intake behind the doors, but do keep in mind we’re looking at a camouflaged test mule, so what is real, and what has been added to throw people like us off isn’t too sure, anyway, at first glance, it looks like the side air intake comes with horizontal slats in the large opening, something we’ve seen on the Lamborghini Centenario before, but these run over the rear wheel, similar to the Lamborghini Sián.

Also, the front bumper and headlights seem to be completely different from the outgoing Aventador, the bumper might remind us of the one used for the Aventador S, but it’s still very different, the same thing with the headlights, none of these photos really show how the new headlights might look, but it’s clear this will be an innovative design unlike any we’ve seen so far.

From most of these photos, it is also quite clear the roof might come as a ‘double-bubble’ design, but once again, that could just be added for looks and won’t be featured on the actual production car, still, I would like to see it as it reminds me of the roof on the Lamborghini Countach LPI800-4 limited edition, with the glass panel that can be switched between opaque and translucent at the touch of a button.

But the real difference is all about the engine, the engine cover treatment, and the entire rear fascia of this Lamborghini test mule, just take a look at the engine bay, it seems we’ll be getting a look at the brand new V12 hybrid engine as there doesn’t seem to be an engine cover, again, this could just be on this test car and we’ll be seeing a design appear once the car is unveiled, but for now it does look really impressing if I’m honest.

What I also noticed are the taillights, they really remind me of two earlier Lamborghini models, on one side the limited edition Lamborghini Veneno, and on the other side the first Lamborghini hybrid concept, the Asterion … both boasted these long Y-shaped LED lights at the rear, so will Lamborghini put these on the new flagship model next year?

Naturally, the big elephant in the room are those four tailpipes set between the taillights, high up on the rear of this new Lamborghini, are they the real deal or just for looks, that’s still unclear, even after examining these photos, but I for one would really like to see these on the actual Aventador successor, I love the look of this test mule, the rear looks really aggressive like this.

I do admit there is still an open space lower down on the rear diffuser that might house a set of exhaust pipes, but wouldn’t having them high up on the car look so much better? For now, there still isn’t any official information about the Aventador Successor available, other than the fact we’ll be seeing a brand new V12 engine with one or more electric motors added to her, making this the first production hybrid for Lamborghini.

There are no numbers yet, nor a release date, but chances are the Linea Aventador at Sant’Agata will come to a stop later this year, possibly before August 2022, after which the line will be closed off to visitors and be migrated into the production line for the new flagship model that will most likely be unveiled to the public in either late 2022 or early 2023.

I for one can’t wait to see more on this Lamborghini V12 hybrid, but if these spy shots are anything to go by, she has all the potential to become a stunning supercar made in Sant’Agata …

But a recent event might postpone this migration, and restart, or at least keep the production of the Aventador going for a while, we are talking about the unfortunate fire on a cargo ship that was transporting thousands of German cars to the United States, the blue and white Felicity Ace was carrying about 4,000 cars being shipped from Germany to the USA, built in 2005, this massive car carrier was about 200 meters long and caught fire near the Azores on February 16th, 2022, first reports mentioned she was loaded with predominantly VW (500) and Audi (1900) models, but also 1,100 Porsche, 189 Bentley … and 85 Lamborghini!

Fortunately, all 22 people on board have been saved, but the cargo ship continued burning, the official press agency from Portugal reported the flames were less intensive by the 21st, but sadly on March 1 the ship sank due to her extensive damage and because the weather turned really bad apparently, all cars on board were lost to the sea, it is unclear if there will be severe pollution, but this did create an issue.

As mentioned, there were 85 Lamborghini on board, most of them were the Super SUV Lamborghini Urus, but some Huracan were also among the casualties. Keep in mind most of these customers have been waiting for 12 months for their new car, so this loss will have to be taken up by production at Sant’Agata, to make sure they still get their order as soon as possible, but there is another problem.

There were several Lamborghini Aventador on the Felicity Ace, and as their production is halted or will be halted very soon, that’s a problem, as the lost cars will have to be built again, so will Lamborghini postpone the conversion of the Linea Aventador, or is there enough margin to boost production so they can build a few more units to offer these customers their new V12 Ultimae flagship, perhaps even one of the final Aventador SVJ were lost, there are no details.

It goes without saying that the bulk part of that 8,405 number is taken up by the Super SUV, the Lamborghini Urus, which is due for her mid-life facelift any time now, we’ve already seen the spy shots a long time ago, so my guess is we’ll be getting an unveil later this year, but they still managed to supply a total of 5,021 Urus to customers (against 4,391 units in 2020), and that’s an insane number for sure.

Just look back at the numbers just five years ago, in 2016, when we just had the Aventador and the Huracán on the production lines, their yearly production was just 3,457 units, adding the Urus in 2017 caused these figures to double in a matter of years, that’s massive for a niche company like Automobili Lamborghini SpA.

But it was the introduction of the Lamborghini Huracán STO in 2021 that managed to increase the numbers on the V10 model considerably, no less than 2,586 Huracán were shipped out to their fortunate customers, not all of these were the top-of-the-line STO naturally, also the Huracán EVO and EVO RWD, both in coupe and spyder version, are among those numbers. Compared to 2,193 units in 2020, that’s an 18% increase which is impressive in this economic climate.

We all get it, the Huracán STO together with the two versions of the EVO will probably be the swansong of the Linea Huracán as the successor is already being developed as we speak, most likely they’ve already done extensive virtual testing of the new car, perfecting the new design and might even put together a drivetrain hiding underneath a test mule, but that’s been kept a secret for now, so no spy-shots of the Huracán successor yet.

And it might be the last V10 Lamborghini too, we already know the next generation of the Huracán will be a hybrid version, but it sure isn’t certain the V10 will be back in the new iteration of the entry-level Lamborghini, there is nothing to keep Lamborghini from going to a V8 or even a V6 together with a set of electric motors, as long as they can manage enough power to weight on the new car, using a smaller displacement engine, with fewer cylinders, will make the ICE package smaller, hence lighter, which can offset the additional weight imposed by the electric motor(s) and the required batteries, Lamborghini could easily come up with a V8 hybrid and still push 800hp, and with a low center of gravity, the result would be a great handling hybrid Bull for sure.

Last year Lamborghini managed to deliver a total of 846 Aventador, a number that slightly dropped for 2021 to just 798 units, but you have to keep in mind we are talking about a car that was unveiled back in 2011, a ten-year lifespan for a V12 flagship model is a feat in this day and age, but Lamborghini managed to keep updating the car from her original LP700-4 edition into some of the world’s most impressive value for money supercars.

Let’s be honest, in the price range of the Lamborghini Aventador, be it the original LP700-4, the more aggressive LP750-4 Superveloce, or the LP770-4 SVJ, there is nothing like it on the market, the supercar styling and atmosphere oozing from every angle of these V12 Bulls can only be superseded by hypercars that cost a multitude of an Aventador, and granted, the gearbox is old, the car is massive and unpractical, but there just is nothing out there that brings the sheer jaw-dropping experience on four wheels as an Aventador does in this price range.

But the Aventador era is coming to an end, with the final production of just 600 (350 coupes and 250 Roadster) of the Aventador LP770-4 Ultimae, the curtain is about to come down on the current V12 flagship model from Sant’Agata, and with that, the demise of the V12 ICE as the next model at the top of the list for Lamborghini will also be a hybrid, times have changed, and Lamborghini has to follow, but they did confirm the V12 will remain for their masterpiece.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman, and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, has confirmed the Aventador successor will retain a V12 engine, but it will be a completely new development from the ground up, rumor has it the current Aventador V12 is at the end of the scales when it comes to power output, with 770hp at this time, it seems to be the maximum that can be derived from that base. So work has already been started to create a new V12 unit that will be built right from the start as a hybrid unit coupled to one or more electric motors, will it be a 6.5-liter V12 or smaller, and how much total power output we’ll be getting remains to be seen.

But back to the 2021 figures now, Lamborghini has a focus on three macro-regions, America, Asia Pacific, and EMEA, and for 2021 they managed double-digit growth in all three of those markets, up 14% in the first two and up 12% in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. If you look at the overall percentage split between these three regions it seems they are very close to each other, with EMEA being the biggest market, followed by America and last but not least Asia Pacific. And it seems the latter might be on her way to overtake the other two markets, just check out the 55% increase for Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao!

Winkelmann added: “We are stronger than ever as we prepare to embark on a period of profound transformation and move towards an even more sustainable future. In 2022 we’ll be doing our utmost to consolidate the current performance and get ready for the arrival of our future hybrid range from 2023 onwards.”

And the official press release from Automobili Lamborghini SpA even states the entire production capacity for 2022 has been sold out already, if you look at the 2021 numbers, this means Lamborghini has an order book of about 8,000 cars right now, that’s amazing, and it shows the market for these Super SUV and supercars is still healthy right now. Most of the cars built in 2022 will be the Urus, but also the ones that were just introduced in 2021, like the Huracán STO, the Aventador Ultimae, and the new Countach LPI 800-4, the limited edition homage to the 50th anniversary of the 1971 Countach prototype, and it gets better, Winkelmann confirmed there will be four new products unveiled over the next 12 months!

And this is where things get interesting, four new models to be unveiled during 2022, and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what two of those will be, let’s think about this for a second, production of the Aventador SVJ, the SVJ Roadster, the Sián, and the Sián Roadster is finished or will be wrapped up within a matter of days, the Aventador Ultimae is already being built as we speak, only 600 units of those, add the 112 Countach LPI 800-4 on top of that, and you don’t have enough numbers left to make it to 2023, so my guess is they will be converting the Linea Aventador at Sant’Agata for the successor, and while you won’t be seeing any customer cars yet, I’m sure the introduction of the V12 hybrid will happen in 2022, with first deliveries in early 2023, and that’s exactly what Winkelmann stated too: “More than €1.5 billion will be spent over the course of four years, in an epoch-defining investment that will see Lamborghini launch its first hybrid production model in 2023.

The second unveil for 2022 will most likely be the Urus EVO, this Super SUV is five years old now, so it’s time for an update, a different design for the outside, possibly a power increase to keep up, and perhaps even the introduction of the long-awaited Urus Ibrido, the hybrid version, we all expected the new Lamborghini SUV to become their first production hybrid model, which might happen in 2022, but most likely not before 2023, the press release did mention that all Lamborghini models will be available as a hybrid by 2024.

But that leaves two more, and Winkelmann already confirmed an all-electric fourth model to the line-up, most likely a GT, either two-door or four-door like the Estoque concept, won’t happen until the second part of the decade, that beyond 2025 then, which will make it extremely unlikely to see this car in 2022 already, so what are we bound to see later this year? Could the spy shot we found earlier with the high-mounted exhaust be just another one-off bespoke order and not the test-mule for the Aventador successor … with Lamborghini you just never know, but I for one am very interested to see which four models Lamborghini will show is over the next 12 months.

We’ll go down the list chronologically, the oldest Raging Bull first, which in this case is a Countach:

1987 Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole

This pearl white 1987 Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole comes with US-Spec impact bumpers, both front, and rear, including the rear fascia treatment seen on US cars, complete with the fuel-injected 5.2-Liter V12 engine that has only 2,039 km on the counter, that’s right, this car has an odometer in km, not miles. This Lamborghini Countach is from an era where you only had the option of a 5-speed gearbox, but she does come with air conditioning fitted, according to the Mecum listing this is a one-owner car, so he, or she has garage kept this lady for 35 years, and put just 1,267 miles on her … this is a true garage queen I guess, still looks great in this classic white on white combination, complete with those classic gold-painted wheels.

1988 Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole

You are looking at a customized 1988 Lamborghini Countach  Quattrovalvole, finished in black on black leather, this Bull left the factory gates back in May 1988, but over the last three decades, she did get some modifications, at first glance you might even be tricked into believing you are looking at a Countach 25th Anniversary, but it is the earlier QV version nonetheless. This black beauty probably came with these side sills from the factory, but the rear bumper is definitely sourced from the 25th Anniversary edition, and while this car does feature the obligatory side marker lights, this is a carburetted QV and not a fuel-injected US-specs version.

Still, the owner apparently didn’t like the original factory setup, so you’ll find dual fuel pumps delivering their octane liquid into the six double-barrel Webers, complete with an adjustable electronic ignition system with twin coil packs, the factory original 12 point distributor will accompany the car to the new owner, and for that more contemporary look you’ll notice the chromed 17-inch wheels under this gloss black bodywork.

2006 Lamborghini Murciélago 6.2

Another black Bull, this time a 2006 Lamborghini Murciélago 6.2, the original Murciélago version, and once again with an all-black interior, this specific 3,500 miles car sits on the later Murciélago Roadster wheels covering green brake calipers, this is an e-Gear version, by the way, perhaps not the most sought-after version, but that will mean the car will not go for an insane amount of money, while you have to admit she does look amazing in her Nero Aldebaran Italian couture dress.

2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

This bright orange car is the more recent 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 version, with the different front and rear bumper, but also featuring the asymmetric side sills specific for the LP640 variant, the auction listing mentions this car is finished in Arancio Borealis, which sounds odd as that was a Gallardo color, and the Murciélago came in Arancio Atlas, but you never know, it could be a custom order. Anyway, the interior looks absolutely stunning with a combination of Nero Ade and Arancio Leonis, complete with the optional Q-Citura stitching pattern.

Note the chromed wheels on her, this Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 comes from the Jerry Brewis Estate Collection and has an estimated value between $200,000 and $250,000, however, she’s listed for auction with no reserve, so she will sell, no matter what.

2009 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Roadster

A Verde Ithaca 2009 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Roadster is a rare car, and this bright green beauty also comes from the Jerry Brewis Estate Collection like the orange coupe listed above, but in this case, the estimate is a little higher, between $225,000 and $275,000, this convertible Murciélago added only 3,500 miles since new, and with the gloss black wheels with green trim, the impression this Bull gives es is just amazing.

While the exterior is an attention grabber on its own, the interior is just sublime, finished in a combination of black and green leather, this convertible also comes with the optional Q-Citura stitching, but it features inverted stitching, which means the black leather shows green stitching, while the green leather parts receive bespoke black stitching, now that’s attention to detail, this was a high-spec order for sure back in 2009, this car is also listed with no reserve.

2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster

If you like a black and red color combination on a Lamborghini, this 2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster finished in Nero Aldebaran is just the one you’ve been looking for, despite being 7 years old by now, this V12 beauty has just done 2,685 miles, and comes with black Dione wheels with red pinstriping over optional, Rosso brake calipers, this is a mean-looking Aventador Roadster for sure, and she even boasts the rather expensive option of clear carbon fiber roof panels.

On the inside, we find the Bicolore Sportivo interior in Nero Ade and what looks like Rosso Alala, the listing just states red, this one hasn’t been ordered with the Q-Citura stitching option that was introduced on the 2013 Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversary edition, but she’s a stunning car, from the Jerry Brewis Estate collection listed at no reserve, with an estimate between $325,000 and $375,000, for one of 413 units made in 2015.

2017 Lamborghini Aventador Miura Homage

I for one really like this next car, the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador Miura Homage finished in the perfect combination, Rosso Arancio over a Terra Semele interior, a perfect homage to the legendary Miura from the Sixties. This is another Lamborghini from the Jerry Brewis Estate collection that’s being listed for auction with no reserve, being a very limited production model, this one comes with an estimate between $325,000 and $375,000, and personally, I think this one is the most sought-after LP700-4 version, period.

Only 50 units of the Lamborghini Aventador Miura Homage have been made for the entire world, and they came in different colors, some even with silver wheels and lower sills, just how many were finished in this perfect Miura shade isn’t listed, but it can’t be a large number, my guess would be around 10 or so, making this a truly rare and exclusive car, and a future classic for sure.

2017 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster

And yet another one from the Jerry Brewis Estate Collection, a grey metallic 2017 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, this one is finished in Grigio Adamas, a beautiful satin frost look, but this V12 was ordered with a very contrasting, all orange interior, even the brake calipers behind the silver Dione wheels were ordered in orange, naturally, the seats, door panels, and the bulkhead behind the seats feature the amazing Q-Citura stitching, in black to make sure you notice it on the bright orange leather.

This car is also listed at no reserve but comes with an impressive estimate between $350,000 and $400,000, and keep in mind Lamborghini made only 278 Aventador Roadster in 2017, and this specific car did only 161 miles since 2017, this is still a brand new car, a 5-year old time capsule almost.

2018 Lamborghini Huracan LP580 Spyder

It seems the Jerry Brewis Estate Collection contained a lot of cars, as this 2018 Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2S Spyder is another one listed for auction with no reserve at Kissimmee, estimated between $200,000 and $250,000, this Grigio Lynx convertible looks amazing on her black wheels and red calipers, a shade that returns in her Bicolore Sportivo Alcantara interior combining Nero Ade and Rosso Alala, naturally with contrast stitching.

Keep in mind this is the LP580 version, so with rear-wheel drive only and a slightly different front bumper, while the rear section below the taillights is also modified from the LP610-4 model, also note this specific unit comes with a third-party rear wing fitted, personally, I’m not a big fan of putting a rear wing on a Spyder, but that’s just me.

2019 Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder

This next V10 convertible is something a little more special, it’s the 2019 Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder, the Superleggera convertible version in the Huracan line, listed at no reserve being estimated between $250,000 and $300,000, but that kind of money will get you a rare Grigio Telesto ultra-performant V10 with the option of driving topless, this lady comes with only 196 miles, she’s hardly broken in.

This car comes with a Nero Cosmus Alcantara upholstery complete with the laser engraving on the seats and door panels that was introduced on the Performante, even the floor mats get this amazing treatment that shows the red underlying color through, do note this car was ordered through the Ad Personam studio and comes with comfort seats instead of the hard carbon fiber lightweight sport seats, this Huracan was part of the Jackie & Gary Runyon Collection.

2020 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo

Now, this is an amazing opportunity to obtain a real Lamborghini racecar, a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo more specifically, another car from the Jackie & Gary Runyon Collection listed at no reserve, but comes with a hefty estimate between $300,000 and $350,000 … for a car that is not street-legal mind you, this isn’t a Huracan STO, this is a real Super Trofeo track-only V10 beauty.

This is the real deal, with bespoke aerodynamics designed by Dallara Engineering together with Lamborghini Centro Stile, complete with OMP racing additions, and while these racecars are built on the same assembly line as the street-legal Huracan EVO and Huracan STO, this is a totally different beast altogether, but it must be fun having one of these in your garage and wake up the neighborhood on Sunday morning.

So there you have it, a total of 11 very interesting Lamborghini models, ranging from the by now classic Countach, over the Murciélago to some amazing Aventador models, only to end with a few V10 powered Bulls, if you are interested in placing a bid on any of these cars, make sure to register or visit the Mecum Kissimmee auction and join the fun.

The production models

2011 – The Aventador LP700-4

Lamborghini intended to build a total of 350 units of the impressive 2009 Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce, but in the end, only 186 were sold before they introduced the next step in the V12 evolution from Sant’Agata, the Aventador LP700-4, the new flagship that seemed to have been influenced by the Reventón styling, no longer available with a manual transmission, but still retaining those trademark upward-opening doors, although on the Aventador they also open outward a little to make it easier to get into this low slung supercar.

Back in 2011, Lamborghini announced they would be building 4,000 units of their new Aventador, they ordered eight monocoque molds, each of which would be able to produce up to 500 carbon fiber Aventador ‘tubs’, and with the Murciélago being built in 4,099 units over a decade of being in production, that number made sense to the Lamborghini management team … little did they know things would turn out differently.

2012 – The Aventador LP700-4 Roadster

We were all expecting to see the open-top version of the Aventador at the 2021 Geneva Motor Show, and while the Roadster was ready at that time, Lamborghini decided to showcase the one-off Aventador J, more on that one later on, by the end of 2012, at the Los Angeles Auto Show we did get to see the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, and it was without a doubt an absolutely stunning looking convertible, closed it resembled the Coupe with the two rigid but lightweight roof panels, but when open the car still boasted a stunning design.

Sales on the new Lamborghini V12 flagship soared, and it took just over five years to reach 4,000 units, a number that took the Murciélago about double that time, and sales were still strong, both on the Coupe and the Roadster, but it was time for the mid-life facelift version to come around, which happened in December 2016.

2016 – The Aventador S

After building the original Aventador LP700-4 for about five years, the time came to freshen up the model, and Lamborghini revealed the Aventador S in late 2016, inspired by models like the Miura S and the Countach S, this new Aventador came with a host of improvements over the original model, including differently styled front and rear bumpers, fixed air intakes, and a centrally mounted exhaust system.

The Aventador S also introduced rear-wheel steering to the V12 production model from Sant’Agata, something that really changed the driving experience of this large supercar, some drivers complained about the fact the experience became too easy, too smooth, not raw enough for a Lamborghini V12, but if you wanted raw, Lamborghini had something else in store for you, more on that one later on.

2017 – The Aventador S Roadster

It took Lamborghini nine months to officially introduce the Aventador S Roadster version at the 2017 IAA in Frankfurt, finished in a stunning blue metallic over a white leather interior, the Aventador S didn’t come with any surprises, we’ve all seen the LP700-4 Roadster and the Aventador S coupe, so this was just a mix between the two, the updated S edition, but with the added bonus of driving with the top off.

Being introduced in late 2017, chances are the first units of the new Aventador S Roadster weren’t delivered to customers well into 2018, and while it’s a stunning model, it would turn out the Aventador S would become the rarest of the production Aventador models because it was built just over three years, at the end other, limited-edition models took precedence on the assembly line and the orders for both the S Coupe and the S Roadster were somewhat toned down by the factory to make sure they had enough production capacity for the more expensive models using the same chassis.

The Aventador S would be the final production version of the V12 flagship model built at the Linea Aventador in Sant’Agata, every other model in the range was either a one-off, a few-off, or a limited production model … the latter we’ll take a look at now.

The limited-edition models

2013 – The Aventador LP720-4

In 2013 Automobili Lamborghini SpA was celebrating her 50th anniversary, with the Grande Giro that took over 300 Lamborghini through Italy on some of the most beautiful roads ever, but it was also the opportunity to unveil a special ’50th Anniversary’ edition of the current flagship, which became the Aventador LP720-4, slightly more power, a different styling on the exterior and the famous Q-Citura stitching option for the seats, door panels, and roof, available in either Coupe or Roadster version, but more importantly, only 100 units would be made of each, so this is a rare Aventador today.

2015 – The Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce

Just four years after the introduction of the original Aventador LP700-4, Lamborghini revealed the ultra-aggressive looking Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce, or the SV edition, in line with the Miura SV from the Sixties and the Diablo SV from the Nineties, the SV was the high-performance version of the ‘normal’ Aventador, adding 50hp into the mix together with a more aggressive front bumper, rear diffuser and massive, fixed rear wing, with many parts being finished in clear carbon fiber, the Aventador SV was a more track-focused model while the regular Aventador was more of a street model.

The Aventador Superveloce did have a very interesting option, while the show car in Geneva didn’t have any SV decal on the side, the option was to either have a small SV script on the lower part of the door, near the front wheel or go for the much larger SV script on the fender above the rear wheel … most of the customer cars were ordered with that large logo it appears, but you had the option … if you were fast enough to get your order in that is, as only 600 units of the Superveloce would be made for the entire world, some dealers were only allocated one unit for instance.

2015 – The Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce Roadster

The impressive Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce was introduced in March 2015 in Geneva, while Lamborghini showed the Roadster version in the same year already, being unveiled during Monterey Car Week in California in August 2015, and things got even more interesting for the topless version of the Lamborghini V12 ultimate road car, only 500 would be made available to customers, 100 units less than the Coupe version.

For years the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce Roadster was the ultimate supercar to own, a brutal looking, high-performance road car with track influences that could be driven with the top off, what more could you ask for, and for the Superveloce Lamborghini introduced the carbon fiber lightweight sports seats, absolutely stunning, but rather harsh to drive for longer periods of time … but in my opinion, this raw car just needs these seats, but there was an option to install the electric comfort seats, with the special SV stitching pattern … naturally.

2018 – The Aventador SVJ

Lamborghini introduced the Aventador SV back in 2015, and they quickly sold out, so when the Aventador S marked the facelift model for the V12 line, it was time to make a ‘superfast’ edition on that model, hence we got the Aventador SVJ, a 770hp supercar with the wildest looking aero ever on an Aventador from the factory, this was the version that set the record time at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife for a production car, completing the 20.6 km lap in just 6:44.97 minutes.

Just like the Aventador SV, this new SVJ, or Superveloce Jota edition would be limited, but instead of 600 units, the SVJ would be made 900 times in total, and they did sell-out eventually, the final units are being built at the time of writing, and if you really wanted something special you could always opt for the SVJ 63 of which … you guessed it, only 63 were available.

2019 – The Aventador SVJ Roadster

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ introduced ALA onto the V12 range, the Active Lamborghini Aerodynamics consists of moveable flaps both in the front bumper and on the large rear wing, in case of the latter the central air intake would be able to be redirected inside the rear wing to have more downforce while cornering, or decrease drag for straight-line top speed runs.

About six months after the Coupe, the Aventador SVJ Roadster was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, finished in a very special Bronzo Zenas shade, a matt gold, the SVJ Roadster is the ultimate model in the entire Aventador production line, only 800 were made and you could even get hold of an SVJ 63 Roadster if you were fast enough to order one, as those 63 Roadsters sold out very quickly.

2021 – The Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae and LP780-4 Ultimae Roadster

As a final production model from Lamborghini with the NA V12 engine, they came up with the Ultimae, the ultimate edition of the V12 flagship model, the swansong of the Aventador range, the LP780-4 Ultimae is the most powerful model ever made in Sant’Agata with just an internal combustion engine, taking the elegance of the Aventador S and combining it with the aggressiveness of the Aventador SVJ, but the Ultimae does not come with ALA as seen on the latter.

Automobili Lamborghini SpA introduced both the Coupe and the Roadster at the same time for their Ultimae edition, and once again we’re looking at a limited-edition model, only 350 Coupe and 250 Roadster were available … and yes, you’re reading that right ‘were available’, as they are sold out by the time you are reading this.

That also means that the Lamborghini Aventador is sold out! Currently, they are assembling the final units of both the Aventador SVJ and Aventador SVJ Roadster, after that, the first customer cars in the Aventador Ultimae series will be built, with between 4 and 5 Aventador being completed on a daily basis, building these 600 Aventador Ultimae (combined production for the Coupe and the Roadster) will take the Linea Aventador about 120 working days, with on average 20 days a month of activity this means another six months worth of production for this model alone.

The one-off model

2012 – The Aventador J

Probably the most radical Lamborghini Aventador ever, the 2012 Aventador J, a one-off build that was introduced just one year after the initial model, and while many were expecting to see the Aventador Roadster at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Automobili Lamborghini SpA surprised us all with this stunning dark red metallic topless version, complete with very low windshield, bespoke seats, an innovative rearview mirror, and a stunning custom bodywork with the most beautiful rear wing I’ve ever seen on a factory-made Lamborghini.

The few-off models

2014 – The Aventador LP700-4 Nazionale

In 2014 Lamborghini showcased a special edition of the Aventador LP700-4 called the Nazionale and it could be considered as the V12 version of the Gallardo Tricolore from 2011 as the Nazionale shown in Beijing was finished in Bianco Opalis and featured an Italian flag running from the front, over the roof to the back of this flagship model. The Nazionale was not really a special edition, but more a pre-configured Ad Personam package, much like the current Pearl Capsule on the Urus, still only very few were ever made, besides white over blue edition you could also go for a blue version with a white interior, as far as I know, the Aventador LP700-4 Nazionale was only made as a Coupe.

2015 – The Aventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition

To celebrate the long term relationship between Automobili Lamborghini SpA and Pirelli that has been going on ever since the Lamborghini 350GT back in 1963, the Sant’Agata exotic supercar builder created an exclusive edition of their V12 flagship in 2015, the Aventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition, available both as a Coupe or as a Roadster, this new Pirelli Serie Speciale comes in a select palette of shades only, and all of them boast a black roof.

The black Alcantara upholstery continues this red shade inside, with bespoke stitching and red piping on the seats and headliner, while the seats also receive both the Lamborghini crest and the Pirelli script embroidered in contrasting red, the door panels and the sides of the seats receive leather inserts to create a more special feeling while a ‘Pirelli Serie Speciale’ plaque will be fitted to each of these Bulls that leave the assembly line.

2016 – The Aventador Miura Homage

With the magnificent Lamborghini Miura celebrating her 50th anniversary in 2016, Lamborghini came up with the Aventador Miura Homage, a special ‘trim’ of the LP700-4 model at that time, with typical Miura inspired colors for the body, but combined with either silver or gold sections at the bottom of the body, to mimic the side sills of the Miura. Only 50 units of the Aventador Miura Homage were built, and all were Coupe, they didn’t recreate the Azzuro Cielo Miura Roadster on an Aventador, which might have been a good idea nonetheless.

2020 – The Aventador SVJ Xago Edition

Only ten Aventador SVJ Xago Edition were built, each one of them individually put together by an Ad Personam consultant together with the customer during an initial two-hour virtual meeting. The client could request this meeting at the local dealership, during which they could call in from all over the world and be in direct contact with the Ad Personam specialist right at the factory, surrounded by samples of what was possible, each of the ten units would have a bespoke detail color, no two Xago would be the same, and all of them were Roadsters.

The end of an era

Sadly the completion of 350 Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae and 250 Ultimae Roadster will also mean the end of the naturally aspirated V12 for Lamborghini, the end of an era, as the successor to the Lamborghini Aventador will still retain a V12 engine, but it is unsure we’ll be seeing a large displacement on this new powerplant, what is for sure is that we’ll be talking about a hybrid production car, a first for Lamborghini.

Just like the Lamborghini Urus Super SUV was the first production car from Sant’Agata with turbochargers, the new flagship model will be the first real production hybrid for Lamborghini, the Sián and Countach LPI800-4 are limited-edition models, so they can’t be considered production models.

So this will conclude the Aventador reign, all of the models that will be built at the Linea Aventador until it’s shut down are sold already, so the Lamborghini Aventador is officially sold out at the time of writing, there is no way to order a new Aventador at a local dealership at this time, and unless you’ll find what you are looking for as a car the dealer ordered in advance, you’re out of luck until the replacement flagship is available to order.

Now I know I haven’t listed cars like the Veneno, the Centenario, the Sian, or the new Countach LPI800-4, and yes, I’m aware these are using the Aventador chassis, but Lamborghini isn’t calling these ‘Aventador’ as is, so personally, I don’t feel they are to be listed in this article, those cars are so special, they deserve a separate publication, perhaps later.

The Lamborghini Aventador deserves an article all for herself, by the time the last ever will leave the Linea Aventador in Sant’Agata we’ll have seen about 12,000 units of this flagship model been built, that is more than all the other v12 models from Lamborghini in history put together, that has to mean something, so I’m sure the Aventador will get her place in automotive history, just like the Miura and the Countach before her, the Lamborghini legacy will live on in the new V12 hybrid model for sure …

Sant’Agata Bolognese/Pebble Beach USA, 13 August 2021 – Automobili Lamborghini unveils the Countach LPI 800-4: a futuristic limited edition paying homage to the Countach’s iconic status as a revolutionary design and technology rule-breaker and recreated for the 21st century.

Its puristic lines are immediately recognizable from the Countach legacy: the patriarch of modern super sports cars and Lamborghini design. With its aspirated V12 engine combined with Lamborghini’s hybrid supercapacitor technology, the Countach LPI 800-4 retains the inimitable V12 experience and sound from its Longitudinale Posteriore (LP) mounted powerplant combined with the hybrid (I) technology developed for the Sián. Delivering 814 cv as maximum combined power (rounded at 800 in the name) from its aspirated powerplant (780 cv) and electric motor (34 cv) to its permanent four-wheel drive transmission, the LPI 800-4 produces peak Lamborghini performance of 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2.8 seconds, a 0-200 km/h in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 355 km/h.

Countach – the patriarch of modern super sports car design

The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is instantly recognizable as the elevated descendant of Countach generations: testament to the lasting impact of the original Countach design that became the poster car of the 1980s and a symbol of automotive and lifestyle ultra-cool. The Countach moniker – a fitting expression of surprise and wonder in Piedmontese dialect and pronounced ‘Coon-tach’ – is one of very few Lamborghini model names not connected to bulls.

“The first Countach has been present in our Centro Stile as a model for some years now”, explains Mitja Borkert, Head of Centro Stile. „Whenever I look at it, it gives me goose bumps and it serves as the perfect reminder for me and the entire design team to design every future Lamborghini in a visionary and futuristic way. This is an unnegotiable part of our DNA, the essence if you so will. The first Countach shaped the Lamborghini design DNA like no other car; the new Countach translates that unconventional and edgy character into the future.”

The Countach’s distinctive silhouette with the essential line running from front to rear, sharp angles and lines and idiosyncratic wedge shape, innovated modern super sports design as well as future Lamborghini models. The Countach LPI 800-4 develops the characteristic lines of the Countach’s five models over nearly 20 years, concentrated into the purest realization of iconic automotive design.

The final outline is pure and uncluttered, with references to the first LP 500 and LP 400 production version. Giving the LPI 800-4 a distinctive Countach face, inspiration was taken from the Quattrovalvole edition in the assertive lines of the front bonnet with long, low rectangular grille and headlights, as well as in the wheel arches with their hexagonal theme. The sharp inclination of the greenhouse adopts the straight lines redolent of the original Countach, adjoining the powerful, clean front-to-rear line. There is no fixed rear wing outside the pure lines, and the airscoops are integrated fluidly in the strong shoulders of the car, embellished with the distinctive Countach slatted ‘gills’. The iconic and aerodynamically powerful NACA air intakes cut into the side and doors of the Countach LPI 800-4 while the distinctive Periscopio lines running through the roof to the rear of the car, particularly distinctive if viewed from above, appear to float towards the rear of the car.

The rear of the Countach LPI 800-4 is immediately recognizable from its distinctive inverted wedge shape, with the rear bumper featuring a lower, sleeker line, and the ‘hexagonita’ design shaping the three-unit rear light clusters. The LPI 800-4 sports the four-strong exhaust tail pipes of the Countach family, connected within the carbon fiber rear diffuser. Access for driver and passenger is of course via the infamous scissor doors, first introduced on the Countach and that have become a Lamborghini V12 signature.

Performance engineering for a new era

The V12 engine of the Countach is as legendary as the design. Mounted longways at the rear together with its forward-cabin layout, the original Countach featured side-mounted radiators from Formula One; forward-facing gearbox and tubular spaceframe technology. It was as revolutionary in its approach to sports car engineering as in its astonishing looks, with its engine position chosen for weight distribution and balance and of course, the aspirated twelve cylinders delivering the most emotive top performance. The Countach developed the best available technologies to produce an extraordinary car: this visionary philosophy is reflected in the Countach LPI 800-4, taking the pinnacle of current Lamborghini technologies and engineering to produce the performance expected from a Countach in 2021.

“The engineering team that developed the original Countach advanced Lamborghini’s pioneering technical approach, delivering unexpected innovations and the best performance available in a production car,” says Lamborghini Chief Technology Officer Maurizio Reggiani. “That spirit inherently drives Lamborghini R&D, resulting in the pioneering hybrid technology in the LPI 800-4, and the emotive driving experience and top-line performance expected from a flagship V12 Lamborghini.”

The Lamborghini V12 6.5 liter engine, outputting 780 cv, is combined with a 48 volt e-motor mounted directly on the gearbox providing a further 34 cv for immediate response and increased performance: it is the innovative and unique architecture Lamborghini developed for Sián, that is the only mild-hybrid technology to create a direct connection between electric motor and wheels, preserving the pure V12 behavior. The e-motor is powered by a supercapacitor providing three times more power compared to a lithium-ion battery of the same weight.

The monocoque chassis and all the body panels are in carbon fiber, provide the optimum lightweight solution as well as exceptional torsional stiffness: the Countach LPI 800-4 has a dry weight of 1595 kg for a dry weight to power ratio of 1,95 kg/cv. Visible exterior carbon fiber features are available in the front splitter, around the front window and wing mirrors, engine bonnet cover air intakes and rocker panel and it is always present in specific interior details. Moveable air vents produced by the state-of-the-art 3D printing technology, and a photocromatic roof – changing from solid to transparent at the push of a button – act as a reminder that this car, despite its historic inspiration, is a future automotive screensaver for the 21st century.

World debut at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering, USA

The Countach LPI 800-4 is unveiled today at The Quail, USA in a dedicated color Bianco Siderale, containing a hint of pearlescent blue and reminiscent of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s own Countach LP 400 S, complete with red and black leather heritage interior. The interior also takes design cues from the original Countach within the context of a modern car. The classic and luxurious leather features geometric stitching on the specially designed comfort seats and dashboard, sporting a square motif referencing the bold style and optimism of 1970s design and technology.
The Countach LPI 800-4 20” (front) and 21” (rear) wheels are created in the ‘telephone’ style of the 1980s, fitted with carbon ceramic brake discs, and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres.

Owners of the exclusive limited edition Countach LPI 800-4 can choose from a range of heritage exterior paint options, mostly in solid colours, such as the iconic Impact White, Giallo Countach and Verde Medio. Otherwise, the contemporary palette offers modern paintings, mostly metallic colors, such as Viola Pasifae or Blu Uranus.

An 8,4” HDMI center touchscreen unique to the LPI 800-4 manages car controls including Connectivity and Apple CarPlay. It also includes a unique button entitled ‘Stile’ (Design): pressed, it explains the Countach design philosophy to its privileged audience.
Produced in a run of 112 units, the number denotes the ‘LP 112’ internal project name used during the original Lamborghini Countach’s development. The Countach LPI 800-4 will be delivered from first quarter 2022 to owners worldwide, privileged to drive a piece of automotive history reimagined for the future.

Recently we saw Lamborghini unveiling the Ultimae as the final edition for the NA V12 engine, a limited edition of which only 350 Coupe and 250 Roadster will be available over the course of the next 12 months or so, and in the next day or so we will see the official introduction of their Countach homage, but it seems that’s still not enough for the marketing guru’s in Sant’Agata … so here comes the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster Korean Special Series … what’s in a name, right?

This isn’t the first time Lamborghini created a market-specific version of a running model, on the previous flagship V12, the Murciélago, we’ve seen the Super Veloce China Edition too, within a limited production model (only 350 SV‘s were to be built, in the end, 186 were effectively built) Lamborghini made an ever more exclusive run of 10 China Edition models, all finished in Grigio Telesto with an orange and black stripe … it looked good if you ask me.

A similar feat was done with the more recent Aventador SVJ, limited to 900 Coupe and 800 Roadster, but also a special ’63’ series within the SVJ production of … 63 units, and they weren’t even done yet, then they came up with the Xago, only 10 units, all Roadster and finished in Bianco Asopo with some amazing holographic paint on the doors and fenders … so it’s clear that if you were under the impression we saw a lot of versions on the Gallardo before, the Aventador might even top the first V10 Lamborghini by the time the successor comes around in 2023.

The Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster Korean Special Series is limited to two units, one finished in Green Ocno to symbolize the ‘warm Korean sentiment’ while the second comes in ‘Blue Emera’ which symbolizes ‘intelligence and wisdom’, both have a Bianco Leda interior as a reference to ‘the white-clad race’, as in the national spirit of Korea.

But it’s not only the body and interior color that is a reference to Korea, the front hood, both doors, the rear fenders, and even on the seats and the firewall behind the seats all show the famous patterns of traditional Korean windows, a criss-cross of horizontal and vertical lines, also note the engine bay even shows Geon and Gam, the two trigrams of the Korean flag.

Francesco Scardaoni, Regional Director for Automobili Lamborghini in Asia Pacific said: “We are excited to introduce the highly-exclusive Aventador S Roadster Korean Special Series to Lamborghini enthusiasts in Korea. This special series further highlights the importance of the Korean super sports car market for Lamborghini. Featuring design elements that symbolize the rich Korean culture and heritage, it definitely stands out and inculcates a strong sense of national pride when it’s on the Korean roads.”

Frank Steinleitner, Representative Director of Lamborghini Seoul, said: “‘Together with Automobili Lamborghini Centro Stile, we have uniquely developed the Aventador S Roadster Korean SpecialSeries that are made exclusively available only for Korea. The entire development process from conceptualization to production has been an enriching one and we look forward to introducing more special editions to our discerning clients in Korea.”

So it seems we might even be seeing more limited production models destined for a certain market in the future, the official press release doesn’t mention if these two unique Aventador S Roadster have found an owner yet, or if they are just now being made available for their local VIP customers.

The LB Silhouette WORKS Aventador GT EVO is Kato-san’s most extreme aero package ever for the V12 flagship from Sant’Agata, based on the Lamborghini Aventador, the LB Silhouette WORKS completely transforms the supercar into a track inspired weapon, ultra-wide, ultra-low, and with a massive rear wing, complete with a vertical fin for stability at speed.

The construction of this amazing new LB Silhouette Works Aventador has been going on for while already, this isn’t a quick bolt-on kit for sure, installing this $187,000 (for the carbon fiber version of the kit) onto your existing Lamborghini Aventador isn’t for the faint of heart, this is an intrusive kit for those that want to have something different without turning to the likes of Mansory with a price tag into the seven-figures, if you can buy an older Aventador you’ll be set for about $500,000 all said and done.

If we look closely at the white ‘GT EVO PROTOtype’ that was just completed this week, we notice not much of the original Aventador is still recognizable, the headlights and taillights seem to remain, as does the entire roof and cabin, probably for rigidity and to keep the car street-legal, but that’s about it … everything else seems to be either replaced or modified on this latest creation by LB Works.

Judging from the interior in a combination of black and white, it seems this PROTOtype is based upon an Aventador S model, but it doesn’t really matter too much as this kit can probably be fitted no any Aventador model, as long as it’s a coupe because the GT EVO kit comes with a replacement engine cover that holds a vertical fin that attaches to the rear wing, that won’t fit on the Aventador Roadster like this due to the latter having a different design for the section behind the seats.

Looking at the uprights that hold the massive rear wing, it seems you can fit the aerofoil at three different angles, to either increase or decrease downforce I guess, I can’t help but get the impression Kato-san got inspired by the one-off Lamborghini SC18 with some Veneno influences, but this GT EVO would look out of place at LeMans with this kind of styling.

Everything below the ‘waistline’ on the Lamborghini Aventador has been replaced to create the GT EVO version by LB Works, the rear fenders are completely changed into these ultra-wide, angular styled units with integrated rear wing struts and larger air intakes behind the doors, speaking of the doors, they are modified with fixed aero sections just behind the front wheels and wide, integrated side sills, they still clear the front fenders when opening, I’m sure that took some serious trial and error to get just right due to the extra width.

The front fenders are replaced with much wider units, complete with integrated air vents on the top and aerodynamic appendages that run into the fixed vertical fins on the doors, a massive Veneno-styled front bumper with large air intakes and even more vertical stabilization fins complete the look at the front. Do note the Aventador SVJ style air vents on the top of the bumper, and it wouldn’t be an LB Works kit without a new front hood with integrated vents … that’s just a must-have on this GT EVO.

This white and black LB Silhouette WORKS Aventador GT EVO boasts some PROTOtype decals on the side, together with stylish 10th Anniversary stickers, so this might possibly not be counted as one of the 20 production kits LB Works will offer to customers around the world, and there is no official information yet on how many kits have been sold by now, but I guess all 20 will sell out quickly … and just imagine if someone would install this onto an Aventador Roadster anyway, without the vertical fin and engine cover, but it would still look amazing nonetheless:

Huber’s headquarter is located in the United Arab Emirates as a coachbuilding company that creates bespoke cars for their wealthy customers, mainly one-off cars, but with the ERA they want to create an homage to the Aventador and they will have 21 units available at €30,000 each (about US $35,000), apparently, they already have a few customers lined up for this kit that comes with replacements for both the front and rear bumper, and a rear wing, as an option a clear carbon fiber replacement front hood is available too.

The first finished unit of the Huber ERA has just been delivered to its lucky owner, located in the UK, the ERA has been fitted onto a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster that seems to be finished in Viola Ophelia, and that dark shade does work very nicely with the clear carbon fiber parts from the ERA kit. At the rear, the taillights remain, but everything else is a replacement part from Huber, which only shows a very small section painted to match the car on this specific unit, it does seem this car comes with a custom exhaust too.

At the front a similar treatment is found, the entire front bumper is replaced with the ERA unit which completely transforms the looks of the original Lamborghini Aventador, the lower fin does protrude a lot further than the original bumper, so the owner might have to be carefully contemplating curbs and driveways with his latest V12 made in Sant’Agata, customized by Supercar Service Ltd in the UK with parts from Huber in Dubai.

The fortunate owner of the first Huber ERA is none other than Ciro Ciampi, the founder of Petrolheadonism and the membership Secretary of the Lamborghini Club UK, they unveiled the car on the lawn of the former residence of David & Victoria Beckham, Rowneybury House in England’s prestigious Hertfordshire was joined by members of the club with their Lamborghini but also being attended by Fabio Lamborghini himself and Raj Singh from Supercar Service Ltd, the UK distributor for Huber.

When we take a closer look at the front bumper you’ll notice the Raging Bull logo has been replaced by a stylish H for Huber, set with clear carbon fiber around the indent while the rest of the upper section on the front bumper has been color-matched to the purple on the base Aventador, from the photos it might look like the lower section of the ERA front bumper is glued onto the original unit, but this is a replacement unit that fixes onto the original fitting of the front bumper, you can turn back this conversion at any time it seems.

The total replacement is more evident at the rear, where everything apart from the taillights is removed from the original car, the rear bumper including the lower diffuser, it’s all being replaced by a carbon fiber unit made by Huber in a design that might be inspired by the original Aventador bodywork, but one that is still completely different, and dare I say, more aggressively styled too.

I’m sure this Huber ERA will be a love it or hate it situation, some Lamborghini owners have no interest whatsoever in changing anything on their pride and joy, while others completely modify their Raging Bull … while still others will be somewhere in the middle of this … and it’s the latter category that Huber wants to attract with their ERA homage. Those owners that want to be different, but don’t want to be cutting into the venerable and expensive body of their Lamborghini Aventador … just a bolt-on kit is best for them, and that’s just what the ERA is, Supercar Service Ltd founder Raj Singh stated that in their 11-year history they have not found an aftermarket design that integrates so well with the LP-700-4 chassis.

After more than a year where events worldwide were canceled due to the pandemic, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae coupe and roadster will be displayed at the UK’s 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed in front of automotive enthusiasts and owners.

Power and performance

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae’s elegant lines belie the performance of this final edition. The twelve-cylinder, 6.5-liter ‘Longitudinale Posteriore’ (LP) engine delivers 780 CV: 40 CV more than the Aventador S and 10 CV over the SVJ to its permanent four-wheel drive. The LP 780-4 Ultimae celebrates the visceral character, power, and performance of the Lamborghini’s Aventador’s ten-year evolution, including the know-how of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife record SVJ powertrain set in July 2018; the super sports technical advances and luxury of the S mode; and the purity of the original Aventador concept. It is the grand finale of the traditional V12 combustion engine and the ultimate Aventador in every sense.

The Aventador LP 780-4’s unique, extremely rigid and lightweight carbon fiber monocoque, and extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the body, contributes to its dry weight of just 1,550 kg. The coupé version, weighing 25 kg less than the Aventador S, delivers the same weight-to-power ratio as the SVJ at 1.98 kg/CV accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 355 km/h, with 720 Nm of torque at maximum 6750 rpm, and optimized VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and VIS (Variable Intake System) for an optimised torque curve. Its CCB braking system delivers 100 km/h to standstill in just 30 m.

Lateral control is optimized through four-wheel steering, introduced on the Aventador S, ensuring agility at low and medium speeds and enhanced stability at high speed. Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) on the front axle is calibrated for responsive feedback with sharp turn-in while adapted to integrate with the active rear-wheel steering on the rear axle: separate actuators respond in five milliseconds to drivers’ steering movements, allowing a real-time adjustment to steering angles enhancing cornering properties.

The LP 780-4 Ultimae’s design adopts a specific front bumper concept for increased aero load on the front, with longitudinal performance similar to the SVJ. The ESC is calibrated for fast, precise traction control and vehicle dynamics, recognizing and adapting to differences in grip, including on low-grip surfaces such as snow and ice. The permanent four-wheel drive, due to the rear-wheel steering, is calibrated to allow more torque to the rear axle so that when powering off, less torque is shifted to the front axle to allow sporty but safe over-steer behavior. The systems are managed by Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA) that processes precise, real-time information on body motion via sensors, thus defining the best response of all active systems to deliver the best vehicle dynamics in every condition.

Delivering the state of the art aerodynamic performance, the front splitter and open ‘mouth’ of the LP 780-4 directs additional airflow to optimize aerodynamic efficiency, engine and radiator cooling. The front bumper’s airducts and side cooling inlet reduce aerodynamic interference from the front tires and optimize wake flow to the rear radiator, with the Ultimae’s lightweight rear bumper completing the dynamic exterior and celebrating the SVJ’s track-oriented heritage.

The active aero system’s rear wing moves into three positions – closed, ‘maximum performance’ and ‘maximum handling’ – dependent on speed and the drive mode selected, optimizing the car’s overall balance and working with vortex generators created in the front and rear of the chassis’ underside to maximize air flow and assist with brake cooling. Transmission is via Lamborghini’s lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system, providing robotized gearshifts in up to 50 milliseconds.

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae’s drive modes allow the pilot to select not only STRADA, SPORT and CORSA dynamic options, but in EGO mode choose their own parameters for optimum set-up of the Lamborghini active suspension (LMS), traction controls (engine, gearbox and four-wheel drive) as well as steering.

A final production masterpiece – Ultimae

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae celebrates the Lamborghini Aventador’s complex yet elegant lines and surfaces: the culmination of Lamborghini’s aspirated-V12 design legacy. Paying homage to the benchmark performance of the SVJ and the ageless super sports elegance of the S model, it takes the best components of both to create a perfect balance between performance and dynamism with an enduring sophistication.

A new palette of options for exterior and interior is created for owners of the 350 coupés and 250 roadsters numbered editions of the Ultimae, offering a refined yet dynamic, elegant yet distinctive representation of the last Aventador. Its silhouette, clean and unfettered, is as recognizable and timeless an outline as other V12 Lamborghini classics such as Countach, Diablo and Murciélago. The new collection of tone-on-tone colors are elegant while recalling the Aventador’s powerful original design cues taken from the world of aeronautics. Offered as standard are 18 colors, with an unprecedented range of options and more than 300 colors available through Lamborghini Ad Personam, allowing owners to create their own, unique piece of Lamborghini V12 motoring history.

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae coupé is launched in a two-tone, grey-on-grey configuration, with lines and details such as the front splitter’s outline and ‘teeth’ picked out in matt red Rosso Mimir, with the accent line continuing along the car with matching accents on the rear fins of the visible carbon fiber rear diffuser: elite performance and design purity in perfect harmony. On the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster, the roof is also offered in visible carbon fiber.

The matt Grigio Acheso and Grigio Teca external colors’ elegant yet sporty two-tone is echoed in the interior: black leather and Alcantara base materials feature stitching and trim in a complementary grey to the exterior, with ‘Y’ seat inserts in black Alcantara. An optional laser cut ‘Y’ repeat motif with contrast backing color on seats and dashboard, distinguishes the Ultimae model: a dynamic, stylistic feature offered for the first time. The LP 780-4’s comfort seat is taken from the Aventador S, with the ‘Ultimae’ name embroidered into the seat bolster, while the A-pillar driver dashboard area carries the 001 of 350/250 reference to the limited edition.

The client can play with the ‘S’ line highlights in seat, door and dash trims with three standard colors, (silver, bronze and white), a further five foptional colors and, of course, the almost infinite spectrum of options through Lamborghini Ad Personam. A standard carbon fiber package CFK highlights exterior and interior features, and the exterior is available in a matt finish to match the exterior colors with low gloss.

Silver Dianthus 20” and 21” forged alloys come as standard together with further 20” and 21” options in Dianthus, Leiron and Nireo in bronze, black and titanium, fitted with Pirelli PZero Corsa tires. The exterior features the extension of the color accent livery in three colors: white, silver and bronze matching the accent on the front bumpers and the rear diffuser fins. Silver calipers as standard are joined by a range of further optional caliper colors that are echoed in the wheel monolock.

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster is launched in Blu Tawaret and Blu Nethuns with the roof panels in high gloss black carbon fiber.

The driver and passenger environment is just as refined: the customizable TFT digital dashboard displays driver modes as well as controlling in-car connectivity. Apple CarPlay manages voice activated communications and entertainment, with the Lamborghini telemetry system available as an option for those wanting to celebrate the last Aventador on track.

From launch, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae will be available in both coupe and roadster configurations in the Lamborghini network with the exception of the markets: Mainland China, South Korea, Vietnam, Brazil and Chile.

It seems the new ‘timeless’ Aventador model to be unveiled within 24 hours from writing is a mix of the Aventador S and the Aventador SVJ, one source mentions Lamborghini took the performance from the limited edition Aventador SVJ and added that on top of the driving dynamics of the Aventador S, hence creating what seems to be called the Aventador Ultimae … or the ultimate Lamborghini Aventador.

Now is Lamborghini implying this is just the final evolution of the Aventador chassis before the successor takes over in 2023, or does ‘Ultimate’ in this case means the most powerful of the series, as we’ve found online this might be called the Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae, which would mean this evolution comes with 10 hp more than the Aventador SVJ … and that might not go down too easily with those that bought one of the 600 Aventador SVJ Coupe or 500 SVJ Roadster, my personal guess is this new model will not be more powerful than its SVJ sibling, but raise the 740 hp from the S to 760 hp to create an ‘S Jota’.

At first glance, the teaser image shows us the front of the Aventador S with the special side sills from the Aventador SVJ, with the lower part of the front bumper and the side sills, finished in black, while the Y shaped intake that was black on the SVJ seems to be color-coded to the body for the Aventador Ultimae, the small Tricolore is still proudly shown on the side intake, we are talking about an Italian supercar after all.

It also seems the beautiful center-lock Leirion wheels from the Aventador SVJ made their move onto this new Aventador Ultimae, I wonder if the Nireo forged wheels will be an option, perhaps the Dione or Dianthus wheels will become standard fitment on the Ultimae, who knows, the car on the teaser shot seems to be finished in white, either a satin or glossy, that can’t be determined from the low-resolution image file.

From a video published a while ago from a test car leaving the factory in Sant’Agata, we got the impression that the car was somewhat of an Aventador S but with the rear section of the Aventador SVJ, with the dual, high-mounted exhaust pipes, but without the massive rear wing, based on that video I’ve made the renders on this page, if that car was a test mule for this new Aventador Ultimae it seems this ultimate V12 flagship will not be using any active aerodynamics or ALA.

On the Aventador SVJ the ALA was incorporated into the front bumper, with the vents on top, and in the large rear wing with the center-mounted air intake on the edge of the bespoke engine cover, when looking at the teaser image for the new Aventador Ultimae, the front looks like a black painted S bumper, that didn’t have any active intakes, and there doesn’t seem to be a rear wing on the teaser image either, apart from the standard Aventador wing that rises at speed … so that leads me to believe that this car will not be more powerful than the Aventador SVJ … if we were looking at 780 hp or more, I guess there would be some kind of ALA fitted.

Will the Aventador Ultimae become a limited edition final model for the Aventador range to be built until the hybrid-powered successor is unveiled, or will this be a regular production model with no limit on production numbers, and will we see a Roadster version of the Aventador Ultimae too before the reign of the Aventador comes to an end … I’ve made a few renders of an Aventador Ultimae Roadster anyway, just because I love an open-top car like this, so I for one do hope they will also do a Roadster version of this ultimate Aventador model.

But at this moment we’ll have to wait and see what Automobili Lamborghini SpA will officially unveil tomorrow … until then, I present you some different shades and angles on how I think the Aventador Ultimae and the Aventador Ultimae Roadster might look:

So Lamborghini has announced they will be unveiling two more V12 models before the new supercar will be available, and it seems we’ll be seeing the first one of their ‘timeless’ models as they call it, in only two days from now, on July 7th, and rumor has it, this will be a final Aventador edition, an evolution of the standard Aventador S, but not as radical as the limited-edition Aventador SVJ, which has been sold out for a while already.

But let’s first take a look at the Lamborghini Aventador range since 2011, it’s a very interesting legacy as this new Aventador SJ or Aventador S Jota as some sources call it, will be the 28th iteration of the original Aventador carbon fiber chassis, yes, we’ve seen 27 different versions of the original Aventador leave the factory doors in Sant’Agata, an overview perhaps:

So this new model for 2022 in the Aventador lineup will be nr 28 then, and what do we know about it? Officially absolutely nothing, but there have been rumors and spy shots going around for a while now, the first clue we got was a rather low-resolution photo of a green Aventador with a completely different engine cover that was uncovered in the parking lot at the factory, this car even had a partly exposed engine and came with SVJ syle exhausts, but no rear wing.

Fast forward a few months and we find a video online of a matt blueish purple test mule leaving the factory doors and accelerating very fast … looking like an Aventador S, but with those SVJ style dual exhausts fitted further up … was this the upcoming Aventador S Jota pre-production test car, or just a botched up test mule for general testing of new equipment, who knows, but it did pull away quickly, so was there a hybrid setup on that prototype to give some more boost to the NA V12 engine?

So what could we expect from this new Aventador Lamborghini so cryptically published on social media with the tagline: ‘It takes time to become timeless. Are you ready? It’s almost time for the reveal.’? Will this be a slightly more powerful edition of the Aventador S base model? From the teaser shot, it does look like this model does not come with a fixed rear wing as the Aventador SVJ did, so probably no active aerodynamic, or ALA as Lamborghini calls it … so I don’t think this will be another top-of-the-line super special edition that slots in above the SVJ, something like an Aventador GT for instance.

No, that teaser shot doesn’t seem to depict a brutal, barely street-legal version of the SVC12 racecar that’s also loosely based on the Aventador chassis, by the way, personally, I think it is in fact just a final production edition to take Lamborghini into the V12 hybrid successor model, with minor aerodynamic modifications compared to the Aventador S, a bit more power, but not 770 hp as on the SVJ, with some more tweaks to the suspension, four-wheel steering, and perhaps the brakes … but nothing earth-shattering, an upgraded Aventador S with some SVJ influence.

Or, the ‘timeless’ queue points to the legendary Lamborghini Countach and this new model will be an Aventador Countach Homage to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original supercar from Sant’Agata that introduced the automotive world to upward-opening doors that would become a trademark for all Lamborghini V12 flagship models to come since the 70s, whichever it will be, we’ll have to wait until the 7th of July to have an official introduction … but it will be a NA V12 Lamborghini … do we need to know more? Now, where’s my checkbook?

By now you probably have guessed we’re talking about TheStradman, one of the most famous automotive YouTube influencers in the world, with about 3.28 million subscribers at the moment of writing and a video catalog that goes back all the way to 2021 when James uploaded his first video to YouTube that is still online, on Jul 27, 2012, he launched a video called Ferrari Dino 246 GTS that shows 150,195 views, today he has almost 900 videos on YouTube and they each reach a million views easily … and he has come a long way over those nine years, during which he traveled the world and managed to go through an impressive array of cars, supercars, and even a hypercar.

If you’ve been keeping track of his car ownership you’ll notice it goes in just about any direction, at one time he had a Ford Focus RS in his garage, parked next to a Lamborghini V12, because why not, then he buys a brand new Corvette only to sell it at a profit a bit later, same with a black Ferrari Spyder for which he even bought a wide body kit … but he sold the car before he even had the wide fenders installed, as far as I know, he still owns that wide body kit today, but his first entry into supercar ownership was a Lamborghini … what else right?

By mid-2015 he was still driving a blue, ten-year-old Lotus Elise when he started shopping for his first supercar, 26 years old at the time, and finally, on Sep 29, 2015, he published the video of his first Lamborghini purchase, a 2006 Gallardo, manual gearbox, finished in Arancio Borealis with the optional Callisto wheels and glass engine cover, at that time with less than 10,000 miles on the counter he bought from Lamborghini Newport Beach with only one previous owner … priced at $110,000.

Shortly after being on a high for several months owning his Lamborghini Gallardo, James lost his job as an accountant, on April 1st, 2016 he was fired from his daytime job, things didn’t look too bright at that time, but James turned it around and started focussing on his YouTube channel on a permanent, full-time basis, and judging from what he did over the next five years, I would say he made the right decision, and through hard work, and keep pushing on, he became very successful and was able to expand his supercar ownership beyond his wildest dreams, with many amazing cars to join his Gallardo, which he never sold, and is even getting a twin-turbo conversion as we speak.

He wrapped the Gallardo in satin chrome purple first, then added a ski box on her, then changed the wrap to a kind of camouflage theme, all while adding thousands of miles on his V10, but that’s fine, at least he’s been enjoying his Lamborghini to the fullest for about a year and a half before he added a ‘daily driver’ to the garage, a Jeep Wrangler, in April 2017, but it would take James several more years to add a second Lamborghini to his collection, and he went for the kill by getting the ‘cheapest Lamborghini Aventador in the country’ he found at iLusso Exotics in Orange County for $240,105.

On November 6, 2018, TheStradman published the video on his first V12 Lamborghini, the stunning 2021 Aventador LP700-4 finished in Arancio Argos over a two-tone orange and black leather interior, he then owned two Lamborghini already, at the age of 29 (James is born on May 7, 1989, by the way), only two months later the Aventador got wrapped in his trademark satin purple, and started modifying his V12 considerably over the next year or two, including a $12,000 exhaust, white wheels, a carbon fiber front hood, and an aero kit.

TheStradman even tried to get an allocation for the Ford GT, but unfortunately, he didn’t get on the list, but got a Toyota Supra, installed a widebody kit on it, and wrapped it purple, just to showcase his “Purple Army” at the 2019 SEMA show, the Lamborghini Aventador, the Toyota Supra, and the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, the latter being almost finished from a conversion to a 6×6, but it appears he couldn’t get the Ford GT idea out if his mind, so he bought a 2005 model in Hawaii.

James has a habit of buying and selling most of his cars rather quickly, but his first supercar, the Lamborghini Gallardo, and his first V12, the Lamborghini Aventador seem to be sticking around, even when he could have used the money from parting with them to fund his 2008 Bugatti Veyron he added to the collection in August 2020, arguably the most valuable car he bought … and guess what … while the car was wrapped in a nice white and black scheme, he still wrapped it purple to match his other cars, complete with white wheels.

And then things got into a rush it seems, only a few months later, in late October 2020 he added a second V12 Lamborghini to his collection, and while James had been talking about a Countach and a Murciélago all the time in his videos, turned out he added a 2016 Aventador Roadster, but not just a regular Roadster, but the satin white Pirelli Edition version, and if you thought his purple Aventador LP700-4 coupe was wild … sit down for this one … TheStradman took this beautiful Aventador Roadster Pirelli Edition and added a $60,000 LB-Works Limited widebody kit to it, only to repaint the entire car in Rosso Acanthus … a $10,000 paint job on its own.

And James, aka TheStradman, didn’t slow down for 2021 either, oh no … he sold and bought several more cars along the way, only to get another one of his dream cars from Sant’Agata added to the garage … the very limited production Lamborghini Murciélago 40th Anniversary finished in the stunning Verde Artemis, a car that took him several months to import into the USA from Canada, but it finally arrived on his YouTube channel on June 15, 2021:

So with four amazing-looking Lamborghinis in the garage next to a purple-wrapped Bugatti Veyron you might think James is taking a step back and tries to get his bank account back in check … right? Nope, wrong … only four days later he goes out and buys his fifth Lamborghini, this time a white 2019 Urus from Post Malone. Just imagine what he might do to this Super SUV from Sant’Agata? A lift kit, or another 6×6 conversion … or how about a Mansory Venatus conversion … no matter what we might think, I’m sure TheStradman is already planning his modifications on the Urus, I don’t think he will mod the Murciélago, but that Urus is in for some harsh moments in the coming months if you ask me.

So at the age of only 32 years old, James Condon, aka TheStradman has amassed an amazing collection of cars, next to these 5 Lamborghini he still owns the Bugatti Veyron, a white Ford Raptor Shelby edition, a blue Corvette, a Nissan GTR he’s also having converted into a widebody before adding a lot of power to create a ‘Bug Killer’ as he puts it, and let’s not forget his Jeep Gladiator with Hellcat engine swap and 6×6 conversion … oh yeah, there is also a Tesla hiding in his storage at the moment … I might have missed one but you’ll have to admit, it’s pretty impressive what he managed to do over the last six years on YouTube.

But let’s dive into the history books before we attempt to foresee the future, Ferruccio Lamborghini was already a very wealthy individual when he started his very own car building company, legend has it he was insulted by Enzo Ferrari and wanted to show him he could do a better job (which he did, but that’s just my idea), but there are sources that insist Ferruccio made a well thought out business decision to start building high-end GT cars … whichever it is, I like the idea of him showing off to Enzo.

Ferruccio already knew that if anything, he needed a bespoke engine, not something taken from the shelve at some supplier, so he hired none other than Giotto Bizzarrini to build a V12 engine for Lamborghini, and Giotto delivered … he actually overachieved and the 3.5-Liter 60° V12 engine had to be detuned to ‘only’ 320 hp before it was fitted to Lamborghini’s very first production car in 1964 … the beautiful 350 GT.

Only two years later Lamborghini increased the displacement on their V12 engine from 3464 cc (211 ci) to 3939 cc (240 ci) thus creating the 1966 Lamborghini 400 GT and the 400 GT 2+2, two different models mind you, and it was this engine that would continue to create its path in Lamborghini’s history for several years to come, at first still at 320 hp, but later increased to 330 hp for the Lamborghini Islero that replaced the 400 GT 2+2.

When fitted to the Jarama this same engine would be delivering 350 hp, the same number that would power the Italian Rolls Royce, the first four-seater from Lamborghini, the 1968 Espada, still a two-door car, but with ample room behind the front seats to accommodate four passengers at speeds that were unheard of in the late Sixties … all thanks to Bizzarrini’s original V12 engine combined with Lamborghini’s craftmanship.

Giotto’s engine would serve as a base for arguably Lamborghini’s most important model ever, a trendsetter that started its life in 1966 with the P400, better known as the Lamborghini Miura, that came with the same 4.0-liter displacement V12 engine, but now fitted behind the cockpit, and mounted transversely … the initial designation for the Miura was, in fact, TP400, for Trasversale Posteriore 4.0-liter, and Ferruccio’s first idea was to build 50 units of this Miura.

You have to remember Ferruccio didn’t want to build supercars like the Miura, he preferred a luxurious, but extremely fast GT, a Gran Tourer that could travel at high speeds, but still offer luxury and comfort for at least two people, with their luggage, and is able to drive onto a driveway or even a curb … something a Miura was not, this was a race car for the road, a layout seen on the Ford GT … on the track, the Miura is so low you have to be really careful parking it or driving it onto your driveway, and while there is luggage space at the rear, you won’t be fitting more than an overnight bag in there … and with the exhaust going underneath that compartment … it might get hot in there too, so not ideal.

But the Lamborghini Miura made Ferruccio’s Sant’Agata company known globally, and while today many might have completely forgotten cars like the 350 GT, the Islero, the Jarama, or the Espada … if they are a little bit interested in cars, the name Miura will bring a sparkle in their eyes, and in the end, Ferruccio was overwhelmed by the success of his ‘limited edition’ car that he was forced to order more shells from Bertone and he ended up selling more than 750 of them, in P400, S, and SV form.

By the mid-Seventies Lamborghini unleashed a real Raging Bull onto the automotive world, the Miura successor would fix the direction for Automobili Lamborghini SpA for the next five decades … the Lamborghini Countach introduced the ‘Lamborghini doors’ into the world, a feature that would be kept for every V12 flagship after the Countach … still using a 4.0-Liter V12 engine, still behind the cockpit, but now fitted longitudinally, hence the LP400 designation … with the Countach Lamborghini created a car that could reach 300 km/h … in the Seventies!

Remember Lamborghini is still using the design created in the Sixties by Giotto Bizzarrini in the Countach, and with a little sidestep into the LM002 off-road vehicle from 1986 that came with a 5.2-Liter Countach V12 derived engine outputting 444 hp … going beyond the tarmac with that V12 symphony to be enjoyed by four people inside the LM002 must have been quite the experience … and you could even fit some more people in the back of the LM002 … but Bizzarrini’s design would live on in the 1990 Lamborghini Diablo, now at 5.7-Liter and with 485 hp, still in the same position and orientation as in the Countach, that would remain right up to the current flagship by the way.

The Lamborghini Diablo would be the first production supercar from Sant’Agata to offer four-wheel drive in the VT version, by now we are talking about a top speed well into the 320 km/h range and acceleration figures of 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill, and things would get even better when the Murciélago took over the reign a decade later, in 2001, now with a massive 6.2-Liter displacement and a massive 580 hp initially … the resulting top speed was 330 km/h in the first car under the Audi ownership.

And while the Miura SV is considered by many to be the ultimate Lamborghini, there have been some other noteworthy V12 flagship models along the years, like the 1999 Diablo GT or the venerable Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce, arguably the best ‘Murcie’ ever, and with only 186 units ever made before the Aventador took over, probably the most ‘investment’ worthy model in the Murciélago range too.

But then the Lamborghini Aventador takes over as the company’s flagship model, and while it still uses a V12 engine, it is no longer a direct evolution of Giotto Bizzarrini’s original design, the V12 for the Aventador was a new design, now with a 6.5-Liter displacement, but still mounted longitudinally behind the driver and passenger, and with 700 hp at your feet, the LP700-4 designation makes complete sense … by now you can’t even order a manual transmission, nor a two-wheel-drive V12 Lamborghini anymore, they are all e-Gear models with four-wheel drive.

Today we have the impressive Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, 770 hp and beautifully aggressive styling, a true supercar in every sense of the word that offers performance and a driving experience that usually only comes with hypercars at a multitude of the SVJ’s MSRP, and you can look at any which way you like … once the doors go up, you draw attention, and the Aventador SVJ does that with ease … but are we looking at the final few steps of an era here? Will the future no longer hold a V12 engine for Lamborghini, with all the new regulations and limitations … are we back at the point Lamborghini was in the late Seventies when they called the Countach ‘the last of the dinosaurs’?

It might seem like that to be honest, with electric cars like the Rimac Nevera showing some very impressive performance … in silence, what might the future hold for Lamborghini, and more specifically for their legendary flagship model? We all know their Super SUV, the Urus, will most likely be the first to go for a hybrid system, probably at the same time the ‘mid-life’ facelift is unveiled, but in a recent speech by Stephan Winkelmann, he confirmed the Direzione Cor Tauri plan that will result in every Lamborghini model being ‘electrified’ by 2024, that’s in less than three years already, there is even a rumor about a new, all-electric, fourth model in the pipeline after 2025!

According to Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini is at a crossroad at this point, a choice has to be made about the large combustion engine that has made them famous during the first sixty years of existence, do we add electric power to create a hybrid as they did with the limited edition Sián, or go for full-electric?

Winkelmann confirmed the V10 and V12 engines will remain for now, but only for the next year or so, as an homage to their legacy in the history of Lamborghini, there will be more one-off models unveiled, another limited edition version, and even a new car from their Squadra Corse department, so until Lamborghini goes to hybridization, we’ll be seeing some interesting models come around.

But work on both the successor to the Aventador and the Huracán is already into the final stages, starting in 2023 we will see the Urus get a hybrid version, and most likely the Aventador replacement will be unveiled that same year, with plug-in hybrid propulsion, by 2024 we’ll be seeing the Huracán production come to an end and get a hybrid in that line up too … by 2024 Lamborghini will be the first super-sports car manufacturer with hybrids for each model in production.

But here comes the catch … adding hybrid propulsion adds a lot of weight and extra mass to a car, and when it comes to a supercar like the Aventador and the Huracán, every kg of added weight is too much, with the Sián for instance the entire supercapacitor setup and the electric motors added 34 kg to the overall weight, but it also added 34 hp, so that was nicely balanced … but for a production car the gain should be a lot higher, which comes with more weight too.

The current flagship, the Aventador SVJ puts down 1,525 kg on the scales at this moment, so you’ll have to be careful not to add too much additional mass in terms of multiple electric motors and batteries. If we take a look at the competition, the Ferrari SP90 for instance, that car weighs 1,570 kg … but that includes 270 kg for the entire hybrid system, granted the overall result is 1,000 hp, but that’s from a small 4-Liter V8 engine … the Aventador comes with a massive 6.5-Liter V12 engine … imagine adding 270 kg on top of her original weight … you would be looking at 1,800 kg, that’s almost two-ton … that is totally unacceptable.

So how do you remove about 250 kg from the current flagship top to create a successor that’s capable of better performance, even with the extra weight of the hybridization setup? You can only go so far in the creation of a lightweight carbon fiber chassis and body, you’ll still need enough rigidity to cope with the massive forces inflicted during spirited driving, so I highly doubt they can remove 250 kg that way.

Another way is to go for a smaller displacement engine, even lose a couple of cylinders along the way … that would significantly reduce the weight of probably the heaviest item in the entire car, the engine, and by adding 300 or so hp with electric motors you could still reach 1,000 hp overall, even with a small V8 for instance … so will Lamborghini’s step into the future with hybrid propulsion result in the end of the V12 era Ferruccio was so keen on?

Only time will tell, I personally don’t think Lamborghini customers are ready to forego the legendary V12 engine in the Aventador successor, perhaps the car after that, and that one might even be fully electric with the fast-paced evolution we see today, but for now, I’m about 99% sure that whatever hybrid will be unveiled to take the throne from the reigning Aventador, will still have a V12 engine with additional electric motors, it might have a smaller displacement to save space and weight, but I think the V12 will be with us until the beginning of 2030 … after that, it might disappear completely, as will any other traditional combustion engine, unfortunately.

And it seems the actual production version of this elaborate aerodynamic kit is very close to the virtual render published earlier, only 20 units will be available of this ultimate Aventador conversion, listed between $94,600 up to $187,000 depending on the material used for the replacement and add-on parts, as Liberty Walk offers this Silhouette EVO kit in either FRP, DRY Carbon Fiber, or a mix of both.

But this isn’t a kit for the faint-hearted, it will require some serious modifications to the base Lamborghini Aventador, which isn’t included in the above-mentioned price mind you, neither are the extremely wide offset wheels nor the necessary air-ride suspension required to get the look Kato-San intends for this final Aventador from LB-Works and while Liberty Walk doesn’t usually touch the engine or do any performance upgrades, a nice (read loud) exhaust really is necessary on this kind of car … expect a price tag over $10,000 easily for a screaming note from the V12 engine.

The photos where the car is seen on the road look like it’s just been fitted and was painted in a base code, integral, while on the inside photos we see the black parts taking shade on the car … are these two different cars, or the same car in different stages of the building process isn’t clear, from the looks of it both instances show the same Forgiato wheels, however. It does look like the car with the black sections, which might be clear carbon fiber, is an Aventador S, distinguishable from that white stripe on the dashboard that was part of the S-Style interior option.

I for one can’t wait to see the final car, all complete with all the details just like the virtual render, probably with the well-known set of decals Liberty Walk usually adds to these low-riding, ultra-wide supercars, this style isn’t appreciated by everybody, but it seems Wataru Kato and his team at Liberty Walk has no problem finding customers for their widebody conversion kits, they have been in this game for many years, and keep introducing these kits on new supercars, so there must be an active market for them.

But what if one of those 20 customers that’s willing to pay up to $187,000 for the full carbon fiber version, would opt to install it on his Lamborghini Aventador Roadster? Would that even be possible?

I guess the only problem would be the engine cover with the vertical fin, apart from that the entire EVO GT kit will most likely be able to fit the Roadster version of the current V12 model too. It looks like the vertical fin isn’t attached to the massive rear wing, so that shouldn’t be an issue just to keep the bespoke Roadster engine cover.

My guess the only problem could be at the front, installing the new front hood might cause issues with the space to store the two roof panels from the Roadster, even on their previous ‘Limited’ kit with the large vents on that front hood, there was a problem on a Roadster.

But other than that, it seems perfectly feasible to create an LB Silhouette WORKS Aventador GT EVO Roadster …

A year later, at the 2014 SEMA show in the United States of America we finally was an LB-Works Aventador in the style we would expect from Kato-san … lowered to the max, extremely wide fenders with that typical LB-Works ‘rivet’ look, and a giant rear wing … the LB-Works Aventador was unveiled.

It would take Kato-san four more years to come up with something even wilder than the LB-Works Aventador, at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show they unveiled the LB-Works Lamborghini Aventador Limited Edition, with a modified design and additional intakes … but this time the $60,000 aero kit became limited. Only 20 would be available on the Japanese market, and 30 would be sold to the rest of the world … and according to YouTube member Stradman, these kits are all but sold out, as he managed to get hold of one of the final units for his Bianco Canopus Aventador Roadster Pirelli edition.

On January 19, 2021, Wataru Kato, the founder, and CEO of Liberty Walk, turned 54 … and for his birthday he unveiled the final edition of the LB Aventador. Only 20 of these kits will be made, and it’s called the LB Silhouette WORKS Aventador GT EVO, in line with his latest Huracan kit that’s called the LB-Silhouette WORKS Huracan GT.

I’ve taken a look at the Liberty Walk website, where the new LB Silhouette WORKS Aventador GT EVO is listed, and it’s available in either FRP, DRY Carbon Fiber, or a mix of both … from $94,600 up to $187,000 … and yes, that is without the Aventador donor vehicle, without a custom exhaust, without wheels, and without the necessary air-ride suspension, this isn’t a kit for the fainthearted I guess.

Taking a look at the parts list on the Liberty Walk it becomes obvious not much of the original Lamborghini Aventador is left after installing this kit, my guess is only the roof and the doors remain, everything else is replaced by LB Silhouette WORKS Aventador GT EVO parts.

It does look like Kato-san was inspired by the 2018 Lamborghini SC18 Alston if you take a closer look at the design of this new LB Silhouette WORKS Aventador GT EVO, the vertical fins on the side of the new front bumper look similar to the ones on the SC18, also the new front hood from Liberty Walk reminds me of the SC18 one. But the most striking resemblance is the design of the front fenders, with the lower section that is fixed to the doors and opens up … just as we’ve seen on the SC18.

Even the rear fenders and the aero design in front of the rear wheels seem to be inspired by Squadra Corse’s one-off model, and how about that imposing rear wing where the vertical struts also start on the rear fenders, but the real give-away has to be that vertical fin on this GT EVO kit … that was also seen on the SC18.

But all that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I rather like the SC18, and I also admire this new kit from Liberty Walk for what it stands for … and let’s not forget, even if you add the price of a Lamborghini Aventador (let’s say you get a second hand one), you go for the mixed FRP/Carbon fiber version at $123,200, add wheels, suspension, and a new exhaust in SVJ style … you would probably end up around $400,000, that’s still a long way from the rumored $7,000,000 the factory-built SC18 cost.

Next to POGTADOR he also owns POGHINI, which is a Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder, while the POGTADOR is a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, one of the original series, finished in Arancio Argos over a Nero Ade interior with contrasting orange or red stitching.

But POGTADOR became very famous when POG wrapped the entire car with a graffiti like design, very special, extremely colorful and it has become his trademark on social media. Most of the cars he added to his collection, later on, received a custom wrap, and a bespoke license plate naturally.

And he managed to convince Bburago to make a scale replica of hit POGTADOR, something few social media stars managed to do (Shmee has some of his cars reduced in scale by Minichamps for instance), and initially Bburago made a few 1/18 scale prototypes, but the production run of 900 units was done on 1/24 scale, and it looks good.

The initial production run of these scale models is almost sold out, even at €45 each, which is expensive for a 1/24 scale Bburago model, but it does give us the opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind Lamborghini Aventador too the POGTADOR.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 was introduced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and we all know it’s about to be replaced by the successor, either in late 2021, or in 2022, but it is safe to say the days of the Aventador are counted … the naturally aspirated V12 era is coming to an end … that’s why Huber calls it their ERA kit.

Huber is based in the United Arab Emirates, and they are a coachbuilding company, they create bespoke cars for their wealthy customers, mostly one-off, and now they’ve set their mind on the successful Lamborghini Aventador, more specifically the original LP700-4 version.

The Huber ERA consists of a newly designed front bumper and rear fascia, as an option, they also offer a matching front hood, all made from beautiful carbon fiber. The customer can opt for painted carbon fiber, or leave it clear-coated, and the pattern does look really good ‘as-is’.

The first production units of the Huber ERA kit are set to be shipped out soon, and according to the Huber ERA press release, this is just the beginning … I wonder what Huber will add to their ERA aero kit in the future … to be continued …

Just take a look at the Lamborghini SC20 that was recently unveiled, built by Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse after a design from the Centro Stile, at the request of a customer … only one in the world, with a rumored price tag over €6,000,000, exclusivity has to be paid.

But there are other options on the market, just take a look at what Mansory has been doing for decades already, they are specialized in taking the world’s most luxurious or powerful cars, and transform them into something completely different … some people don’t like what Mansory does, but you have to admit their workmanship is beyond expectations.

Remember Mansory was the first to have a complete body kit for the Aventador ready at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, just one year after the new V12 flagship was unveiled, a year later, in 2013, Mansory made another major impact with their Carbonado LP1250, with a total power output of 1,250 hp thanks to a twin-turbo setup, limited to 6 units.

Later in 2013, at the IAA in Frankfurt, Mansory showed the Carbonado Apertos, the Roadster version of their Carbonado, again with 1,250 hp, but now based on the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, and limited to only 3 units worldwide, at that time listed at €1,200,000.

After that Mansory also started doing one-off, bespoke builds, the first one being the Mansory J.S.1. from 2016, requested by London-based James Shunt, based on the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce, with a power increase to 830 hp.

This brings us to this 2019 Mansory Carbonado EVO, an evolved Roadster version of the J.S.1. almost, and again limited to just one unit, with a rumored list price of €2,000,000 and thanks to a completely rebuilt V12 engine and the addition of a pair of turbochargers, a power output of 1,250 hp … so about 500 hp more for €4 million less than the SC20 … and you do get a full windshield and roof panels on the Mansory Carbonado EVO.

Unlike the 2020 Mansory Cabrera, which is based on the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the Carbonado EVO takes an Aventador Roadster to start with, but just about nothing from the original Sant’Agata built Bull remains, the entire car is taken apart, the body panels are removed, the interior is taken apart, and even the engine comes out for a complete rebuild from the ground up.

Mansory puts a new front bumper on the Carbonado EVO, which styling looks inspired by the Lamborghini Veneno, a new front hood with large vents is fitted, with additional vents in front of the windshield. The front fenders from Mansory are 40mm wider compared to the factory original units, and these new ones come with vents above the wheels, even the door skin is replaced, and now features a Y-shaped extrusion. Wider rear fenders that also come with three vents on top bring us to a completely redesigned rear diffuser and an amazing looking rear wing.

Note that the entire Carbonado EVO is finished in a satin gloss, clear carbon fiber pattern made by Mansory in-house, even the aero rings on the Raze-7 inspired, center lock, forged wheels which Mansory calls the CV.7 Air C units, 9×20 inch for the front, 13×21 inch for the rear,  and Pirelli P ZERO tires size 255/30ZR20 front and 355/25ZR21 rear.

And the customization continues for the interior of the Carbonado EVO, with a full Alcantara upholstery, every part inside this bespoke Lamborghini has been replaced by Mansory, either in this natural material that’s both durable and soft or with that B2 bomber inspired carbon fiber pattern. A Q-Citura inspired, hand-stitched pattern is visible throughout the interior … and in line with Mansory, the red-covered start button had been moved to the top of the windshield … in true fighter jet fashion.

The Mansory Carbonado EVO can reach 100 km/h in only 2.6 seconds thanks to that rebuilt V12 with two turbochargers, the top speed has risen to 380 km/h making this V12 one of the fastest in the world … sadly only one has been built, but I think if your bank account is big enough, you will be able to have Mansory create a Cabrera Apertos based on the Aventador SVJ Roadster … just for you.

Both would transform a factory standard Lamborghini Aventador into a low-riding, wide-fender supercar, the air ride suspension would lower the Raging Bull completely to the ground, usually sitting on massively wide Forgiatto wheels, hiding inside wide fender flares that were riveted to the original bodywork at first. Later on, LB-Works offered these kits with ‘fender replacements’, to avoid having to drill into the expensive Lamborghini panels.

Add a deep front spoiler, some low side sills, and a massive rear wing, and you would end up with an LB-Works Aventador, but Kato-san took things further with his Limited edition version, this time even more aggressive fender flares were designed to accompany even wilder side sills and front spoiler design. The rear diffuser gets vertical plates and a new rear wing in a ‘hanging’ design completes the ‘Limited’ kit from LB-Works.

But the thing is, only 50 of these Limited edition kit would be made for the entire world, to celebrate Wataru Kato’s 50th anniversary, 30 of those were destined for Japanese customers while 20 would go overseas … at nearly US$60,000 each when you opt for lightweight carbon fiber.

And it seems all of these 50 kits are sold out by now … so it’s time for something new, and Kato-san was thinking the same as he published a photo on his Instagram account stating he will unveil a final LB Aventador EVO kit on January 19, this time it seems he will be limiting it at 20 units.

From the teaser shot it looks like this new LB Aventador EVO kit will have an even more impressive rear wing design, with vertical fins that go all the way down to the bodywork, much like we’ve seen on the new Lamborghini SC20 lately, the rest of the body is obscured on the image, so we have to wait until the 19th to see how Kato-san’s imagination has created an even more special kit for the Lamborghini V12 flagship.

We also heard rumors about the Aventador successor being unveiled at the end of 2021 already, with first customer cars being delivered in early 2022, now that sounds to be very soon if we take into consideration they are building the Aventador SVJ right now, together with the Sian customer cars, and no Sian Roadster has even been built for a customer yet, while we know some SVJ Roadster are being built as late as June 2021.

So a timetable where the Aventador successor gets unveiled in late 2021 might mean they will have to rush getting all ordered Aventador SVJ and Sian ready before August 2021, they could then convert the assembly line for the new V12 model, and have customer cars being assembled as early as 2022 … keep in mind Lamborghini still has its prototype and pre-series vehicle development area, which was opened in 2012, and could be building the pre-production V12 Hybrid model before the assembly line takes over.

And while we have heard rumors about a power output near, or above the magic 1,000 hp mark, there is no news about styling yet, and while admiring the one-off Lamborghini SC20 I remembered Lamborghini’s first ‘few-off’ special model, the Reventón … which as we all know showed several design elements that would be used on the new Aventador a few years later. So what if the SC20 also shows a design we will be seeing again on the Aventador successor.

We already saw in an interview with Mitja Borkert, the Lamborghini Sian was not a preview of the Aventador successor, not as a design, the combination of the V12 with electric power will be further developed for the upcoming V12 model, but its design would not be related to the Sian, but nobody said anything about the new SC20, which was created by Squadra Corse, but designed by Centro Stile … so why wouldn’t they take inspiration from this stunning, topless car, to create the next generation of V12 from Sant’Agata.

All they need to do is add a roof and make the design less aggressive … you can’t have the new V12 Hybrid Lamborghini look like a racecar right from the start, perhaps later one when they release even more powerful versions, but the initial model surely doesn’t need a massive rear wing and exposed carbon fiber.

So for the new V12 Hybrid, Aventador successor, I removed the rear wing, removed the air vents in front of the windshield, naturally added a roof, and changed the design of the engine cover, also a set of different wheels would be needed to make this the first edition of the new Lamborghini V12 flagship for 2022.

And we all know there will eventually be a Roadster version of the Aventador successor too, so I created a view of that model too, will a full-height windshield and naturally the possibility of having removable roof panels … Lamborghini just needs a convertible V12 model in their lineup.

And that’s not all … every V12 flagship gets a more powerful version down the line, so it might be several years into the future, but there will surely be a Super Veloce, or SV version of the Aventador successor down the line … at which point the large rear wing and aggressive styling make its comeback.

Just like the SC18 back in 2018, this new SC20 seems to be a one-off build for a fortunate customer, this time based on the Aventador SVJ, the V12 in the SC20 is rated at 770hp, and if we break it down the SC20 is a restyled, topless version of the SC18, and it looks stunning.

Some styling from the SC18 is visible, but also influences from the Veneno are present … and with that low, almost non-existent windshield, the memories of the 2012 Aventador J come to mind again, another one-off Aventador based model made in Sant’Agata.

I for one can’t wait to see more photos and read about this new Lamborghini SC20.
