The weekend of March 15th to March 17th 2002 was the scene for the AutoMotorSport event in Zuidlaren, in the Prins Bernardhoeve to be exact, during this three day show a very nice collection of Lamborghini’s was presented.
The Lamborghini Club Nederland had it’s own stand on the show, and we were able to show no less than nine magnificent Lamborghini’s, ranging from the classic 400 GT 2+2 seater right up to a late model Diablo VT 6.0, finished in the awesome pearl yellow metallic paint, truly stunning.
Naturally a full range of models was shown, like the meticulously restored Miura from the golden Sixties, this yellow over black leather P400 S looked brand new actually which made it hard to believe this legendary Lamborghini was over thirty years old.
A show like this couldn’t do without the Countach, two stunning examples were lined up, a white 5-liter model with a bright white leather interior featuring a very special red leather dashboard was parked next to a classic red over black LP400 S model.
Both of these dream cars featured the impressive rear wing which helped to draw a crowd of admirers throughout the duration of the show, especially once the doors were opened.
Another main feature during the show was a stunning black Lamborghini Diablo, this was in fact a very early production model, probably over ten years old by now, but still this car features a nearly animal like attraction to anyone that passed by.
Between all these violent V12 powered models we’ve parked a very nice Jalpa, because of it’s V8 engine sometimes called the ‘Baby’ Lamborghini but this is still a Lamborghini in all it’s glory. Combined with the option of a removable roof section, the Jalpa can be driven with your head in the wind, add the stunning sound of the raw V8 power plant en you’ll be having an experience that will be hard to forget.
Several people would probably have some trouble recognizing the two other Lamborghini’s on the stand, an Islero S and a Jarama, both models are a bit less famous but are none the less very beautiful, especially the perhaps strange styling of the Islero managed to attract a select group of enthusiasts.
The Jarama that was shown even had a four-point seatbelt system installed in the luxurious black leather interior, probably the driver wanted to make sure he was held down when opening up the six dual carburettors on this V12 GT…
This collection of rare Italian beauty alone was enough to justify the 8 Euro entrance fee, I would definitely consider driving to Zuidlaren next year for another edition of this show …
